Hello everyone The last year has been an unusual period of time for the staff team and we are getting closer to another milestone — launching our community on the GTA V platform. In preparation for the many months of developing the script we altered the way our team is structured by introducing the 'Insider' team. The whole staff team has played a vital role in establishing the ecosystem and building the foundation for the server, without their knowledge and experience we would not have been where we are today. As of this post, the Insider Team will be removed and some members of it will be offered alternative positions within the core staff team based on contributions and activity during their time. We'd also like to thank Ten for his contributions to the Faction Team and for setting up and shaping the illegal faction scene ahead of the launch of the server, sadly he has resigned from the team a few days ago and we look forward to hopefully seeing him return in the future! We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to shape the server — the community, the insiders and the staff team as a whole. Thank you for sticking with us through the most challenging period of LS-RP history. Moving on, we'd like to introduce our new staff team structure: Senior Lead Admin Baker — DadoJ — Kane Lead Admin nova Senior Admin DDaniels — Mitcholodolo — Redz Game Admin Xanakin — zalenac — ROZE — Benavides — Mario — Flemwad — Dos Santos Junior Admin Bellagio — Birdman — Zapper Trainee Admins accursed — Kendrick — Genny — jack — luca. Senior Tester betonists — danielswe — Turtle — Marshall Tester Bizarre — bobster — Caleb410 Junior Tester Farrell — Mac — AlmightyBounter — JamesW — Freedom Fighter — Faugh A Ballagh This list is not final and is subject to change.20 points

This was unfortunate wording and pedo RP was never allowed. That being said, after consideration, we've decided to edit this archaic rule and disallow any of the actions mentioned in the rule, without exception or permissions. Acts of sexual violence and dangerous or illegal paraphilias are not something we're going to facilitate in the community, even as "roleplay". Punishment for breach of this rule is ban.6 points

Hello everyone In order to make the rules easier to navigate and understand, we have decided to move them away from the forums and onto our very own wiki page! It will still be accessable from our boards, as you can easily click the "Rules" tab on the menu bar. The rules are split into five different categories: Server Rules Account Rules Forum Rules Rules of Engagement Legal Faction Rules With the rules being listed on our wiki page, we are able to easily make changes to them and we will be able to see what was different in the respective revisions of them. Furthermore, every player will be able to see the rules directly in game by simply using "/help rules" or "/help deathmatch" and it will open the rulebook for deathmatching. We are releasing the rules now so that everyone has the time to study them closely before the server opens. Please remember that it is your own responsibility to keep up to date on any rule changes applied, so give the rulebook a thorough read. You can also find the new wiki rules page here. Happy reading,5 points

Hey all, To give factions the ability to house their faction members in certain areas, the Faction Team has decided to allow factions to apply for faction complexes. These faction complexes will consist of a few apartments and will help with providing more environmental roleplay for the faction. Each faction has the ability to choose between getting 6 to 8 apartments for their complex. In order to improve the housing market, the Faction Team is offering factions a possibility to establish themselves within certain areas by creating a faction complex. This will ensure that faction members are provided the necessary housing for them to do their roleplay. For individuals, renting options will be available at launch; and a separate scheme will be announced for businesses. How to determine how many apartments you can get? The faction that is applying has to exist for a minimum of a week, and needs to consist of at least 12 core members. See below list to see how many members you need for the amount of apartments you can apply for in your complex. 6 apartments: 12 members 7 apartments: 14 members 8 apartments: 16 members A faction can apply for a maximum of 8 apartments. GUIDELINES By submitting an application, you agree to the rules surrounding the scheme, and accept potential removal from the scheme following any breach of the following agreements: Name-changing in any form is not allowed and will result in removal. You have to notify the Head of Schemes before namechanging. Administrative punishment (admin jail or ban), depending on severity and situation. Abusing the furniture limits within the complex for your own benefit. Poor roleplay surrounding the faction complexes. Lying in the selection application. Creating secret compartment/rooms or designing the interior in a way to give you a benefit during shootouts. Faction owner rents the complex out to non-faction members. Other faction team decision. Faction is shut down. Inactivity. REQUIREMENTS Before applying for the scheme, please ensure you meet the requirements. Not meeting the requirements will result in an instant denial. You must be part of a faction. You must be the leader of said faction. You must have experience in/around illegal factions. You must have a good standing in the community. Your faction must have a minimum of 12 members. Your faction thread must be up for a minimum of one week. APPLICATION Send your application to the Head of Schemes @DDaniels Message subject: [COMPLEX] Faction Name This article was prepared by the Faction Team.4 points

We have removed this part from rule #5: "Using a controller is not allowed as controller players may provide an unfair advantage to those on a mouse and keyboard." We have disabled assisted aim for controller users, meaning they will always be forced to be in the free aim mode.4 points

FiveM is marketed towards voice RP. alt:V seems promising but each have their own issue. Recent example, it took them a couple days to come out with a compatibility update for the new V update, even with the number of developers they have. So that's about 3 days of the server being unavailable while it only took Rage a couple hours to put out an update. But yeah, like I said, each have their own issues.2 points

Hello i would also like to recommend some mods for the server that you guys are creating. Since lore friendliness is key in this server the best mod pack that i could recommend is the Vanilla Works Extended Pack which can be found here: https://gta5-mods.com/vehicles/vanillaworks-extended-pack-add-on-oiv-tuning-liveries-vanillaworks-and-other-modders It has a lot of lore friendly vehicles that we could say are very similar to some cars in real life but in their own unique GTA aesthetic way. If that can't be added i would like to recommend the Benefactor Spritzer STR from Vanilla Works as well https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/benefactor-spritzer-str-add-on-tuning I would also like to recommend this one: https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/benefactor-krieger-bpx-32b-add-on-tuning-liveries-sounds Thank you for reading my recommendations. I hope i will be able to see some of the stuff that i recommended in game!2 points

As you may remember, on the SA-MP Server, there was an opportunity to roleplay with hospital staff at All Saints, County General, and some other locations as time went on. I'm happy to say that this type of roleplay will be carried over to the GTA V server. Here is what we have determined so far: On an in-character basis, we will have a private, independently-run hospital. We're still finalizing which location we will be using in-game. On an out-of-character basis, we will be in the same faction as the LSFD. This set up is to give us access to a stable forum and in-game faction. We are, however, an independent sub-faction within the LSFD and independent of their rank structure. On that note, we're following a somewhat similar format to the LSFD before 2016 which had a two-sector system: (1) EMT/Firefighter and (2) Hospital. However, during that time, the faction allowed for the unrealistic practice of characters who were both firefighters and doctors. That will no longer be the case; instead of two sectors within the LSFD, it is now going to be two factions: the LSFD main faction and the hospital sub-faction, with separate rank structures, leadership, and roleplay locations. We will allow only physician characters to join. Our rank structure essentially follows a realistic medical path: Intern, Resident, (possible, but not necessary promotion:) Chief Resident, (possible, but not necessary promotion:) Fellow, Attending Physician, Deputy Chief of Medicine, and Chief of Medicine. While a Deputy Chief of Medicine rank generally does not exist in real life, we want to be able to assemble a small team for the hospital faction's leadership and maintain the separate supervisory rank of Attending Physician. While the Chief of Medicine is the leader of the hospital faction, only on an OOC basis, the Chief of Medicine answers to the Fire Chief. For in-character purposes, the Chief of Medicine answers to a (non-existent) Board of Directors - basically, a RP name for being answerable to someone above the Chief of Medicine. I will be the Chief of Medicine. I was involved in hospital roleplay off and on between 2014 and 2018 and was in charge of the LSFD's hospital sector and sub-sector for good chunks of time. We have no plans to have ordinary "hospitalist" doctors or nurses at this point. Those will be NPCs for roleplay purposes. We aim to strike a balance between realism and ease of access for players. We are not trained medical professionals in real life. We have a series of guides that were used before (and have now been updated) that I believe puts a fair balance between realism and ease of access for the player base. There is only a small learning curve for those who want to join the faction, but you can join with literally zero knowledge of anatomy and still do just fine as a member of the faction. We have relatively simple guides and a wealth of information for our faction members. The hospital sector was most successful on SA-MP when there were events that brought people into the hospital. This included the disaster events, LSFD-hosted blood drives, fundraisers, or advertisements for general checkups. Excluding disaster events (we obviously have no say on that), we do plan on eventually hosting similar events to draw interest to the faction. We want to create a faction that is fun for faction members and for general players. In some cases, most of the work that we would do on SA-MP was treating gunshot wounds or handling people begging for medication because they were affected by the script's addiction system. How exactly that trend will change is up to you, the player base: what is it that you want to see from the hospital faction? If you were previously involved in hospital roleplay on the SA-MP server and are interested in participating, do reach out to me as well! We also have information on the sort of recruitment we will be doing on the LSFD forums if you are interested in reading more.1 point

Hey everyone, Today we're releasing our penal and vehicle code. We decided instead of recycling from SAMP, we would rewrite it from scratch. We took some guidance from the SAMP penal code to get a gist of how to write it, but for the most part, it's a fresh one. We looked to the California penal code for inspiration and some charges are named and indexed from it. Our goal for this penal code was to make it as clear as possible so that both illegal and legal roleplayers would be able to comprehend it without issue. Lets talk about prison time: We decided that, for now, we're going to be sticking with an hour/minute based time system for sentencing. This is a hot topic and a lot of people have differing opinions but we feel this is the best way to go for the time being. Our goal in the future is to adapt to a court system and base sentencing and time off of that. It's a whole discussion and it's still being brainstormed but I hope to have something to show there after launch. Some charges aren't in the right title? You may see, for example, 211. Robbery inside Title 1 and wonder why it's there when it doesn't follow the numbering at all. Well, this is one of the ways we looked to California for inspiration. Everyone understands when they hear "187" that it's Murder. "211" is Robbery. For these common charges, we decided to number them based off of California and how everyone knows them by. Note about infractions: Infraction penalty dollar amount will be filled in at a later day before launch. Credits to @kendrick for research and writing, @Kane for co-writing and everyone who was able to provide us with feedback. San Andreas Vehicle Code - VEH San Andreas Penal Code - PEN [Discussions / Questions] San Andreas Penal Code Please use the Q&A topic for any questions and concerns you may have! This may be subject to change. Some time after launch, it'll be officially finalized. We want to make sure it's as perfect as it can be. If anyone notices any discrepancies, issues, flaws, etc, give us a shout so we can fix it! Regards, Kane1 point

The decision is obviously already made, but I don't think the numbers argument is really a valid one. When I wanted to play on GTA:W, I downloaded Rage MP. I wasn't just blindly browsing through the server list of an MP platform that I'd never heard of — I downloaded it because the community was attractive. And at the end of the day, it's all on GTA V, so it's not like the barrier of entry is exactly a big one once you've overcome the hurdle of getting the game. People literally just have to download a different platform, there is very little change for the end user. FiveM also wasn't big in the beginning, which I know because I played on FiveM servers before there were any with more than 32 slots. What made FiveM big was good communities with impressive features (NoPixel, DOJRP, Twitch RP, Family RP, etc.), it wasn't the other way around.1 point

Somehow you look like a salesman, who came here to showcase and sell his product. Like it was said, there are plenty of players from LSRP, who are used to RageMP or played with this MP.1 point

What's on that spreadsheet refers to the previous version of RageMP. The newest version comes with an anti-cheat (EAC), the sync is slightly better and that's it. There's really no good platform for text rp on gta5, each one has its issues.1 point

Scripted-jobs aren't player involved and they should be the minority rather than the majority. Keep the ability to create 'jobs' via role play as the main drive here. Hunting can be accomplished by role-play and it can be great if the script itself accommodates hunting (animals and so forth) but we should keep the amount if script-wise jobs to a minimum for role play integrity.1 point

I'd like to eventually, yes. Right now, we have a number of specialties and more focused fellowships ready for members to participate in. One of those is Clinical Psychiatry, but there are currently no people in that specialty. Those who join or transfer can decide to focus on psychiatry. As for point two, I decided to go with private hospital for a few reasons. First, my personal knowledge of and limited experience with hospitals in Los Angeles are Cedars-Sinai and Keck USC. Lacking a university to attach the hospital to, I decided to model the faction after the former. I have even less knowledge about public hospitals in LA. Second, it reiterates the point that we are fully independent from the LSFD on an in-character level. State-run hospital under the LSFD faction can perhaps blur that line. Third, all of the best hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area are private hospitals. Even those associated with University of California medical schools have private institutions (UCLA Ronald Reagan is private, Olive View-UCLA and Harbor-UCLA are public; UCI Medical Center seems to be private).1 point

Private vs Public: The only difference is insurance of the customer and how the hospital is set to work. You cannot force someone to go to the hospital if they do not want to go, and those who are unconscious and being transported, I'm sure would rather be alive and have a higher bill than to just be left to die because we stopped to check their pockets for insurance cards and which hospitals would be better. I will reiterate: hospital is overseen by LSFD Rank 1 on an OOC level only. This is per Management's request. We do not work directly with them or have any association with them on an in-character level. This was to avoid having to re-script an entirely new faction at launch, and to make sure they have a proper structure. This is to provide hospital roleplay without having to take time away from FD, who are not qualified to be doctors or nurses. FD can focus on pre-hospital care and firefighting, while the hospital staff takes over the roleplay from the hospital. Any connection between the two is strictly OOC. We as LSFD will not be employing nurse practitioners. We are focusing on Firefighter-EMT and Firefighter-Paramedics. We are responsible for pre-hospital care. Per policy, as Ryan stated, we go to the nearest hospital unless the patient is not in critical condition and can give a preference. You cannot be a medic without being a firefighter, as we are the Fire Department. There are many privately owned hospitals. Some departments don't even transport patients, they treat them and then have the hospital's ambulances come and pick them up. This isn't the case for LAFD, but they aren't going to not transport a critically injured person to a hospital because it's privately owned and not public. You can't just simply open a hospital without going through a strict qualification system. (Unless you're running it out of your basement illegally). It takes a hot minute to construct a hospital of that size, and you need to meet all of the requirements, have all of the certifications, the money, etc. We don't charge for ambulance rides to the hospital, and once they're in the care of the hospital, it's between them and hospital staff for billing. We do not charge for pre-hospital care as the fire department. How the billing and everything else works has zero to do with us.1 point

Thank you! Thank you for allowing me to clarify this point. We provide just hospital care. We do not go into the field. We have no plans to interact with a private ambulance service at this point. The LSFD will bring patients to us. Let me explain further: I am modeling the hospital faction after Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. They are a non-profit, privately-run hospital in the Los Angeles area. While they are private, they still receive NIH funding for things like drug trials, research grants, and public health awareness campaigns. Cedars-Sinai also has a level 1 trauma center/emergency department in Beverly Hills. California law dictates that in a life-threatening emergency, ambulances - LAFD and private - must take patients to the nearest hospital that can handle their case (in less emergent cases, ambulances can give patients a choice of hospitals). Furthermore, Cedars-Sinai and other private and public institutions have worked with the LAFD on things like Advanced Provider Response Units - LAFD ambulances also staffed with a Nurse Practitioner. I don't know about the idiosyncrasies of this system - I could be mistaken, but I believe in general the LAFD does take patients to Cedar-Sinai's ED. I say all of this to demonstrate that a private hospital does not have a hard line around it that prevents any interaction with the government. I intend to follow this model with the hospital faction: non-profit with government interaction. If this does, however, bring up issues of liability on an IC level, I would not be objected to modeling the faction after a public hospital in LA or doing a contract with the LSFD to allow them to send patients our way. As of right now, there are no official hoops to jump through. I'm working on crafting as realistic a system we can expect on LS-RP that is still accessible to players. We've already got a prescription system and patient records system implemented in the script - one of the reasons why us being part of the LSFD on an OOC level is optimal. We're private only on an in-character level.1 point

Hello there! Back on SAMP in the last couple years we didn't have hospital staff, so everything had been NPC'd at the hospital with a few lines explaining what would happen at the hospital itself. (As long as everyone involved agreed to it of course). Having a functioning hospital faction was a direct request from Server Management so that the LSFD can focus on pre-hospital care. Meaning once they've dropped the patient off at the hospital and give information to the staff there, they can return to their ambulance and carry on with the rest of their shift. That is when hospital staff will take over. So as long as there are members of the hospital faction on duty, there will be no need for NPC'd roleplay. You will ideally have roleplay from the time Firefighter-EMTs / Firefighter-Paramedics arrive on scene, all the way through your hospital visit. On SAMP we ran into the issue of people calling 911 from the hospital requesting FD to help them with injuries, which was not realistic at all. You're at a hospital, so you'd be in better hands there with people who have the proper equipment to do a full evaluation and give you surgery or stitches if needed. Having a hospital faction should combat that as more players get used to having hospital staff again. Firefighters can focus on fighting fires and responding to accidents or other scenes requiring pre-hospital medical attention to stabilize patients, and then the hospital staff can give them the thorough checkup and treatment after the fact. As far as repetitive or "boring" roleplay, I can say after nearly three years in the faction, I handled hundreds of GSW scenes. I never found it to be repetitive or boring, as no two people ever roleplay the same way. Each character is unique, they handle pain differently, and wounds are in separate locations. While on an out-of-character level people might feel it's monotonous to treat GSWs over and over again, it's not unrealistic to think that's what EMTs and hospitals deal with a lot in areas where violence is heavily prevalent in real life scenarios. The reason we asked if people wanted to roleplay inside hospitals or skip after FD treated them, was due to server rules regarding NPC'd roleplay. All parties involved have to agree to it. It's not realistic for a Firefighter to go inside and treat the patient themself, and when you had bustling shifts it was a time issue on FD's side to have to explain a few hospital-oriented lines of roleplay. It was never personally my favorite thing to do, as it took time away from faction responsibilities. With the hospital sub-faction joining us, I feel there will be a better balance across the board, and less NPC'd roleplay all around. This will break immersion less, and allow us to delegate our units where they're needed most! It should also be noted that you can only join one side or the other. You cannot be in both the LSFD main-faction and hospital sub-faction at the same time, not even on separate characters. This is considered the same as not allowing anyone to join two LEO factions at one time. As Ryan said, each entity is owned and operated independently of one another on an in-character level. The hospital sub-faction has their own section on the LSFD forums, with their own recruitment information.1 point

I feel like LSRP shutting up shop was probably the end of most SAMP roleplay. I know there were others, but most seem to have migrated to GTAV already. Still I'll always look back on SAMP roleplay with fond memories and nostalgia.1 point

LS:RP, originally being an edit of the Godfather, was from it's core a complicated form of cops and robbers role play. While many players found different avenues to create and play as characters with varying success outside of this meta, there is no denying that the root of the game, the majority of the player base, and the systems created to facilitate role play were all centered around law enforcement and criminal factions respectively. If you're looking for success, I believe it's important to reconcile that the GTA RP landscape seems to've changed. While I won't explicitly criticize or promote the community in saying this: I find it funny when people rail against certain systems GTA:W uses, a frequent highlight being the lack of focus the overall community has on illegal factions. With what I've observed through admittedly a low amount of play (about ~100-150 hours), I think a hard pill that many of the old guard players refuse to swallow is that you are not the majority demographic anymore. While a good amount of LS:RP players had made the trip to GTA:W, I've noticed through Discord hopping and communicating with players that a majority of them stem from more social role playing games, many of which I'd say are hardly compatible with the LS:RP C&R format. GTA:W seems to deliberately cater to these players, and rightfully so. The expectation that illegal / old guard role players should be center stage is a remnant of the attitude of old LS:RP. Frankly put: I fully believe that in order to be competitive in the market, the former approach of leaving these players to their own devices simply is no longer possible. The largest takeaway I have from my theory is that players beget players. I don't think it's reasonable to expect LS:RP to be competitive in the market if the primary goal is to simply bring the old community into the new platform. The remaining veterans aren't going to make the switch if the player counts are glaringly in favor of the communities they're already in, and the opposite demo won't make the switch unless they're compelled with very good reasoning. In both cases, you'd be asking many players to abandon relationships with the server, factions, characters, other players, assets and potentially thousands of hours of progress and whatever else that progress may entail. I think it's become far too trendy to blindly criticize GTA:W. Don't get me wrong, I have the same problems with it that you do. That being said, I've been preaching for quite some time that, while yes I think true that the community objectively has some problems, simply dismissing every idea out of Nervous' head as bad is an overly elitist, unrealistic line of thinking. Truthfully, some of the scripts regarding businesses, dynamic item creation, map markers, and static info points are downright genius, and very literally go above and beyond facilitating role play, particularly for civilian role players. In short: how does LS:RP compete with other communities in this area, which has specifically been sidelined for years and which the community may be woefully underequipped to handle?1 point

Usage of IRL location names and terms Introduction A lot of people don´t understand that the world of Grand Theft Auto V or any other open-world games that are built based on real-life locations is practically a whole new universe. The world of Grand Theft Auto V is based on the real-life State of California, especially Los Angeles. As the developers of Grand Theft Auto V created their universe and named it The State of San Andreas, all players are supposed to stick to the given universe and use only official location names as long as they are In-Character. Common usage As Grand Theft Auto V only covers the city of Los Santos and its County region, we should only stick to using the terms of the city of Los Santos and Los Santos County as a placeholder for the city of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County. The State of San Andreas term is therefore a placeholder for the State of California. That means concretely that the terms of Los Angeles and the State of California don´t exist in our universe. The Grand Theft Auto History The Grand Theft Auto series has mentioned multiple locations over time such as Vice City, Liberty City, San Fierro and Las Venturas. As for now, these locations also doesn´t exist in our universe. Everything that is outside the Grand Theft Auto V universe, is not to be used. Therefore talking about Las Vegas or Miami Beach In-Character is legit. If someone asks your character about Las Venturas, your character would have no idea where or what that should be. Examples of official location names in our universe In-Character In Real Life The State of San Andreas The State of California Los Santos Los Angeles Vinewood (Sign/Bowl) Hollywood (Sign/Bowl) Del Perro Pier Santa Monica Pier Vespucci Beach Venice Beach Los Santos Forum Los Angeles Forum Jefferson Towers Watts Towers Los Santos Storm Drain Los Angeles River The Alamo Sea, AKA Sandy Shores Salton Sea Galileo Observatory Griffith Observatory Marlowe Vineyard Malibu Rocky Oaks Mount Chiliad Mount San Jacinto Conclusion As the universe has its locations and terms, everything that exists in the Grand Theft Auto V game should act as a placeholder, if possible, or as a whole new location that doesn´t have to exists in real life. Only use location names and terms that belong to the universe. That also includes street names, zones, areas, neightborhoods, building names, vehicle names, postal codes, etc. Useful links San Andreas Postal Codes San Andreas Street Names & Regions0 points
