Most of us will not be roleplaying San Andreas as an island that co-exists with California regardless of any ruling. That's how stupid the idea is to us. I don't mean to be rude, only frank.4 points

Los Santos and San Andreas is a direct copy of Los Angeles and California, having the two co-exist is confusing and doesn't make a lot of sense. Replacing Los Angeles and California with Los Santos and San Andreas is the only option that makes sense realistically, the geography of Los Santos and it being an island in the game is almost entirely due to game limitations; having a copied and pasted Los Angeles, plonking it off the coast of California and calling it Los Santos is a little ridiculous.4 points

Lately, all sorts of discussions have been popping up on LSRP's Discord servers about the "lore" behind San Andreas. Management supposedly said that San Andreas would be an island, a different state from California, somewhat separated by waters from the United States mainland. This decision has sparked a chain of debate among community members, with some players embracing this new LSRP universe and others being more comfortable roleplaying that SA is actually Cali. I personally prefer the more common approach, where SA=CA and any reference to California is simply ignored. What do you think about it? What does the community actually prefer?2 points

My only criticism is you've now limited yourselves to a very small minority of players.2 points

Like Dos Santos said, it was an unwritten rule on SAMP that San Andreas replaced California, and that should reflect officially in this new era. Leadership need to either form a continuity team, allow the faction team to establish continuity and lore, or similar so long this is made official. Other communities have already established and universally agreed upon this, and it puts us behind to lack this as our official stance.2 points

I don't know what's happened but at one point in time everything on the server was diagrammed. An agreement, by common accord, was that San Andreas substituted Southern California. This was the inspiration for a lot of rules, factions and mapping additions. The Mexican Mafia and PEN1 dominates the prison system, the white and hispanic streets gangs pay homage respectively, both the PD and SD have units named after their real life equivalence and everything including vernacular, dialect and cultures are adapted to as much immersion as possible. Not only this, but for half a decade factions have used this how-to to realistically administer drugs and weapons coming into the city through its neighbouring cities like Nevada, Arizona and Utah. We seem to be on a backwards trajectory since the transition to GTA V with no real template in mind. To me, this "San Andreas co-exists with California" puts us in a parallel universe, somewhere we're all foreign to. And I'd say it is a view comparative to those who advocate for single player gangs, completely opposite of what a heavy roleplay server should be enforcing. The fact of the matter is, by enforcing this, it removes all the foundations we've built for over a decade where there's a pretty much unanimity around the formulation. The blacks roleplay in South Central for this reason. The Hispanics roleplay in Rancho for this reason. Armenian Power roleplay in Vinewood for this reason. Without this agreement, what's generally being preached is that it's now a free-for-all. A lot of people came back because of the old prototype. The foundations were strong, the factions were strong and the enforcement was strong, but fair. There has been a lot of mixed signals sent out recently that indicates a lack of accord and structure. And I'm bewildered because a lot of this should have been covered. What I don't understand is how the developers have managed to almost complete the server but everything else is essentially barebones basic. There is no real modus operandi, no real directory to make players culturally aware of anything beyond development. Everything feels muddled and last-minute when realistically, the server should be the last thing ready. Everything else should have been addressed weeks, if not months ago. This island shit has to stop. We should replace California and we should be bordered by Nevada, Arizona and other neighbouring cities. If this is to be enforced, it should be at the very least an open-dialogue and not an open-and-shut thread. My only ask is that this thread remains open and isn't closed until we're all satisfied with the OP's canvass. Surely this approach doesn't come because there's "no bridge"?2 points

It’s nonsensical to roleplay San Andreas and California co-existing when both states have identical infrastructure, gangs, government agencies, penal code sections, and so on. The general consensus for the past few years has essentially been to roleplay the state taking place of its real life counterpart. There’s quite literally no reason to roleplay both states co-existing. Roleplaying what should be the second largest city in the US be on an island off the coast of a city that looks very similar makes no sense in the realistic environment we’re trying to emulate.2 points

There should be a talk through with the community before deciding anything, I don't see why would management come up with such as thing without any discussion given that all legal factions are trying to portray departments from real life LA. How would management explain the resemblance of LS seal and LA one from an IC perspective.2 points

Roleplaying an empty shell that's "for the gang" 100% or the perfect mobster etc. is probably the biggest problem, at least for illegal rp. It goes hand-in-hand with people who don't create any roleplay on their own. Another related issue is when everyone is super friendly with each other within a faction. Characters, I mean. Most conflict in a gang or a criminal organization is internal, and much of it is about trivial personal things and personality conflicts. That is never reflected in roleplay though. And then I suppose there's how much OOC has seeped into roleplay in recent years. Both late LSRP and GTAW became discord roleplay servers, where people just log in to go through the motions. This is probably the biggest single issue I personally have with current roleplay habits. It doesn't necessarily make characters feel like NPCs but it does make it feel like you're roleplaying with the person, not the character.2 points

A quartered shield bearing the stars and stripes, a five cornered star and a grizzly bear - a tribute to the short-lived San Andreas Republic. A golden eagle like the kind depicted on the 19th century Mexican Coat of Arms, standing on a cactus while holding a rattlesnake in its beak, the old Alta City Hall and a lion rampant. The Los Santos City Government is one of the largest municipal organizations within the United States, and the largest in San Andreas, providing services to over three million constituents who reside both in the City of Los Santos and the County of Los Santos following a decision in 1992 to consolidate both the City and County of Los Santos into one large entity. The municipal organization is led by a City-County Mayor, who oversees all operations of the government and is responsible for the delivery and accessibility of services. Los Santos is home to people from all walks of life, of all cultures and backgrounds, located on the southern part of San Andreas. What started as a colonial settlement in 1781 under the Spanish Empire, saw rapid expansion ever since its establishment and quickly turned into a major colonial hub. While not much is known about the city during the Spanish rule, it is known that the territory was later on taken over by Mexico in the 1800s, and then rebelled under the short-lived San Andreas Republic in 1846 over land-purchasing rights. At the beginning of the revolt, flags bearing a five cornered star and a grizzly bear were raised by the mutineer soldiers, replacing the Mexican ones. On July 5, 1846 - the United States flag was raised throughout government buildings and militia bases, marking the end of the Republic and the annexation of the land by the United States. --------------------------------------------------------------- TIMOTHY KNIGHT MAYOR Welcome to Los Santos, It is my pleasure to present you with a warm welcome to Los Santos, our little pearl in the West Coast. Los Santos is home to innovation, progress and discovery - where people come from everywhere and everyone are welcome. A sprawling metropolis, Los Santos is one of the busiest regions in all of San Andreas and even the United States, with an active nightlife scene, products and stores from all over the world, there's always something to see in our city. I invite you to tour the city, visit the landmarks and most importantly - enjoy your stay. Welcome once again, Timothy Knight Mayor of Los Santos --------------------------------------------------------------- The Office of Finance is responsible for the financial health of Los Santos, providing business owners, entrepreneurs and visionaries with the tools needed to thrive. It is responsible for the collection of all money deposited in the City Treasury, from taxes to certain city-imposed fees. The Department of Health works to protect the health and well-being of the residents of the city of Los Santos and surrounding incorporated areas, it's main objective is to push public health initiatives and policies in accordance with current state law, support the growing health infrastructure of the city of Los Santos both public and private. The Bureau of Licensing is responsible for the processing of liquor and entertainment licensing and continuous review of those licensed premises across Los Santos. The Los Santos Department of Public Works and Transportation is what keeps the city moving, the workers who keep the city dynamic and ever-changing. The Department is separated into several sections, each having their own responsibilities - the Department of Public Works handles public infrastructure development and maintenance, as well as power and water grids. The Department of Transportation is responsible for making sure the city stays mobile by providing public transit services with the highest quality standards. The Bureau of Parking Management makes sure that appropriate parking etiquette and laws are followed, as well as assists with traffic control where needed. The Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) serves thousands of vulnerable people each year, improving their quality of life via the administration of local welfare programs. Such programs aim to assist and empower disadvantaged individuals and families within the greater Los Santos area to achieve their maximum potential; housing, employment, and financial assistance, to name a few. The Department consistently works towards the economic and social development of all, operating under the values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of a person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. The Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner (DMEC) is responsible for conducting inquiry into the circumstances, manner, and cause of deaths which fall within its jurisdiction. These inquiries predominantly surround deaths which appear homicidal, suicidal, violent, or accidental; this remit also includes deaths where an appropriate physician is not available to certify death. Inquiries make use of state of the art technology and methods, along with examination of their medical records, behavior, and much more. The DMEC also plays a role by, on request of the Public Health Department, examining deaths which may be related to wider public health risks. The Port of Los Santos is the nation's leading gateway for international trade and has ranked the number one container port in the United States. It is a self-supporting department of the City of Los Santos, also known as the Los Santos Harbor Commission, and is governed by the Los Santos Board of Harbor Commission, a panel appointed by the Mayor of Los Santos. The Port of Los Santos is committed to proper oversight and management of all port activities, with an outstanding team of executives appointed to propel the organization's vision and strategy forward. I decided to start an LSRP YouTube channel! I'm going to be covering some interesting topics about LSRP, such as fun facts, how to's, ask an admin etc. It won't be a channel which covers roleplay, but rather LSRP information. I have setup my first video to premier today in just under an hour, come along and watch at the same time as others and see if the channel is something that you think you'll be interested in. Looking forward to this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFvmI3SAD_0&ab_channel=ROZELSRP1 point

if you think about it all this stems from how valuable weapons and drugs were on the old server. people wouldn't be doing everything in their power to protect these assets if they weren't something special 2 begin with. maybe resource scarcity should be solved so people dont have ooc attachments to their goods?1 point

I agree. I didn't like how people replaced Miami with Vice City and NYC with Liberty City on GTA:W when it isn't necessary and just breaks immersion in game. There is literally no argument for roleplaying San Andreas as an island that outweighs the negatives it'll bring. So what if you can't drive north up to San Francisco because the map is an island? How does that actually affect you or your character? It's just a weird game limitation that needs to be ignored and worked around. This map looks good as a reference point.1 point

Greeting. Of course we will do the liturgical service in the game (Byzantine) and we will celebrate the sacraments (so, I am waiting for you for marriage, baptisms, funerals, etc.). We will try to make a list for the transition to our church and we will assure you that you will know the eastern rite as much as possible. Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to have a fixed (interior) space so quickly, but we're trying to get by and we have the support of the staff. The Eastern Catholic Church (such as the Byzantine one, which we practice) has its own code, it is independent of the Latin Church, in terms of regulations related to the celebration of the rite. If we are to refer to the hierarchical functions, of course a Greek Catholic bishop takes precedence over a Roman Catholic bishop in celebration of the liturgical service and at the same time, the bishop of another rite cannot administer the Eastern rite. However, being the same (Catholic) church, all the rights and authority of the bishops are recognized, regardless of the rite. So, for example, if a Roman Catholic archbishop is invited by the bishop of the diocese of San Andreas to a Mass, the one who will be the greatest will be the Roman Catholic archbishop (Having the position of archbishop). For more information I am waiting for you on discord. At the same time, if you are interested in contributing to the faction, I am waiting for you with a message on discord or here in private! https://discord.gg/N8vtFCqqvx1 point

I've always subconsciously acknowledged that San Andreas is a replacement for the state of California. For me it's too weird to see Los Angeles co-existing with Los Santos within the same lore together, they are obviously the same place in essence as the latter was meant to parody Los Angeles. We should just go with Los Santos replacing Los Angeles, with Vegas and San Francisco staying the way they are, given the fact that the HD universe is entirely different compared to the 3D one. Some might agree with this but even so, there will undoubtedly be people roleplaying otherwise— which is why there is a dire need for the establishment of lore continuity through the faction team and the community as a whole so everyone can be on the same page. Here's what I had in mind so far: This is more or less just a rough conceptual representation.1 point

I personally don't agree with having Los Santos / San Andreas bordered of from the mainland. Back on LS-RP SA-MP it was a un-written rule where SA replicated California and should be done the same here, simply not allowing us to have a mainland sort of vibe is strictly going to cause issues in the near future. Hopefully not, we can have a thread that clarifies what's what so there isn't speculations. But I totally do agree that San Andreas should replicate California.1 point

I'll be more elaborate on this later on because I'm on my phone, but the idea of being an island based on California while California still exists is very contradictory in itself. Especially considering a lot of the penal codes, law enforcement agencies and factions use it for inspiration. It's easy to give factions and players creative freedom without the need of being a fictional state. This has always been the theme and I don't see the need for the change now. If the problem is lore, this could have been handled very easily ahead of time. It's something both legal and illegal faction management could have revised. I think this approach is bone laziness. Nothing should change from SA-MP other than the recognition of Las Vegas and San Francisco as real cities.1 point

Y'ello there. My character is running Government's Cultural Affairs Office when the server launches. We'll be responsible for organising events, observing religious festivals, and supporting events that people organise (provided they fit within certain criteria). I reckon there'll be plenty of opportunities for us to have roleplay together, provided you guys are still active with this idea. I can send you some more details over PM but yeah - wishing you good luck with this one 🙂1 point

I absolutely hate the cut and dried yes-man type of characters whether it be within the legal/illegal realm who always go "OK", "Yeah yeah yeah", "For sure for sure" just for the sake of agreement without considering any sort of con to whatever it is they're agreeing to. This is the short NPC-like interaction that definitely makes for some really bland roleplay experiences, they won't take things a step further to spice things up and actually make the effort to extend the roleplay and get some substance out of it. Not to mention the 'preset' cookie-cutter characters that are always roleplayed the same way with the same demeanor and identity over and over again, the only thing that changes are the character names.1 point

Most of my favorite memories of LSRP are thanks to the great Valenti crime family. The group of roleplayers that have come through this faction across many eras was simply phenomenal in terms of their realistic IC approach, roleplay quality and dedication. The roleplay throughout the family's many phases of dominance, internal power struggles, wars, indictments, downfall and resurgence has been incredible. There are way too many people to name but thank you to everyone who helped make Valenti what it was and for the countless hours of top-notch roleplay over the years. Here's what comes to mind: - Joining the server, faction hopping and learning the ropes in 2009-2010 (shoutout Florencia 13, Palmira, Auberg, Fiumano, The Townies) - 2009-2011 is my favorite era of LSRP; the screenshot culture and the antics of management that came afterwards really took away from the game - Attending Santino "The Butcher" Valenti's going away party before finally joining Valenti in 2011; roleplaying with and learning from the old guard was something special - Big thanks to Nicholas_Diopare, Pellicano, Donald Duck, Corsaro and Cahneggs who were incredible mentors for me personally and provided great leadership for the faction back in the day - The Rigazzi Crew - The Pellicano Crew - The Diopare Crew - The Busato Crew - The Nastasa Crew - The Carna Crew - The Grumo Crew - The Malacci coup - My Martin Busato character getting made and his two mentors, Charles Pellicano and Donald Rigazzi, surprisingly attending the ceremony after a long hiatus - The handful of Valenti induction ceremonies I was fortunate enough to attend/conduct - The Kaplan Brigade and the highroller card game we hosted in 2013 - Crazy Vatos 13 was fun - Leading the Valenti comeback (2015-2016 and 2018-2021), reuniting with many of my old friends and working together to revive the LCN roleplay scene for a new generation of players - 2011 and 2018 are my two favorite Valenti eras that I was a part of - Interactions with the Wilcox Organization and the D'Aquila family Good times.1 point

Cool guide. I think attention needs to be drawn especially to the part about shunning violence in favor of business. Cartel factions always used to roleplay like they were in Mexico, or like they were the Mexican Mafia with Mexican passports and it was a big part of what made them poor factions. Cartel roleplay should be about strictly business, which means you need to have a certain mindset to do it and you should be prepared to not have the opportunity to engage in wars and shootouts (although there is a good opportunity for violent rp in prison, where the paisas definitely engage in it). If cartel rp can start off on that footing here, it could be very good for the server. Although there remains the issue of faction distribution schemes wiping out much of a cartel faction's reason for existing.1 point

Will y'all do in-game liturgies or just general church roleplay? I'm also unfamiliar with the juridical organization of the Eastern Catholic Church. Would, for example, the Eastern Catholic Church fall under the jurisdiction of the local Roman-rite bishop or does it fall under a separate system of Metropolitans/Bishops in the Eastern rite?1 point

Alright, so I'll divide my answer in two sections. Wild animals: These should, if scripted in, be inserted along with not only a hunting feature but also to fulfill the emptiness or otherwise emphasize the danger of certain areas with animals such as coyotes and mountain lions. They should also be fit, depending on the animal model chosen for the npc, fit into 1 of 3 caterogies: -Passive (Runs away from players should a certain distance limit be broken, say 30m) -Conservative (Enters a state of alert should the distance limit of (for example) 30m be broken, and alternatively attack should it or the player(s) get closer than half of the alert's radius) -Aggressive (As the name states, these animals should have a wider radius of detection (for example 45m) and make their presence known, alternatively enter an immediate state of aggressiveness should it or the player(s) get closer than, for example, 30-40m. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Domestic animals: These should, if scripted in, consist of no attacking/tackling features whatsoever, and: -If scripted in, make the animals plain NPCs whose only commands are to follow, roam, come to, sit, lay, sleep. Be they dogs, cats or anything else that could be modded in as a pet and follow these capabilities. There should also be a menu where the player can select which animal breed of their selected species can be (if such alternatives are available) and to also not only name but to give their pets a description. -Allow a specific faction-only feature, cost-free (should these pets be made donator only), where these trained K9 units would be able to sniff weapons, drugs, stashes + the commands mentioned above. A list and a heavy moderative system would have to be put in place by the factions to know which K9 Officer could sniff guns and which could sniff drugs, to prevent abuse and unrealism, such as: -Officer John Doe, K9 Sergeant 'Zero' - Weapons Detail -Officer Jane Doe, K9 Sergeant 'Ophelia' - Drugs Detail Officer John could only utilize the command which allowed his K9 to sniff an individual or area for guns, and should he utilize the drug sniffing command - for it to be prohibited/prevented (not scriptly, just through list alone) to be roleplayed as it would constitute Powergaming by the LEO half. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personal opinion: I agree with Natasha and the smaller group in that these pets should either be free from a pet store or through a permanent/one-time donation. Alternatively, make said pet store and allow each character slot to have one single pet at a time - and perhaps make donations available to increase the pet slots (one-time fee of $10 per slot, up to a maximum of 4). This should in no way allow players to spawn more than one pet though.1 point
-
"Lock it behind donator" why would you bozos even suggest that? Yes animals should be added in. I've seen it on other servers and its really cool and refreshing to see. Prioritize other important systems that need to be finished / worked on before jumping on this though.1 point

I dislike people who roleplay the perfect faction member, who perform every task perfectly and always does everything on time. I like characters more that occasionally fuck up but strive to become a better version of themselves. It creates character instead of acting a script.1 point

People with minimal roleplay that just do what they have to do without creating or engaging in roleplay done by others. I'm talking about the usual officers who just walk straight to the duty room to ''go on duty'' and then back out to leave in their car without interacting with people in station or civilians that don't take in account of an incident that is happening in public and just shrug it off. Those people are replaceable and don't provide anything whatsoever.1 point

This was unfortunate wording and pedo RP was never allowed. That being said, after consideration, we've decided to edit this archaic rule and disallow any of the actions mentioned in the rule, without exception or permissions. Acts of sexual violence and dangerous or illegal paraphilias are not something we're going to facilitate in the community, even as "roleplay". Punishment for breach of this rule is ban.1 point

Regarding scripted stock, I'd like for it to be more open simply. For example players should be able to make their own food/drink menus with their own names and it should not be limited/divided between certain businesses such as bars, nightclubs, strip clubs etc. Giving freedom to players to sell what they generally want is the way to go to create diversity. I'd like to see commands like /selldrink or /sellfood but not only for businesses. The commands could be tied to companies though, but I'd like to see it used for outside bbq's and events as well. It should be rather easy to have gatherings and could create more jobs. Jobs: Food Caterers, Exterior/Party Bartenders (Alcohol Serving Certificates Required outside bar use) Be able to stock food within a van for BBQ's/Caterers, allow them to bring food/drink in boxes which then grants perms to /selldrink and /sellfood within a certain distance. You'd be able to also sell these items without a box but only a limited amount within your personal inventory or even house inventory. Different methods of purchasing goods. - Small grocery stores, sells in smaller quantities and is more expensive per 1 item. (Typically for general house parties or small time events, house food items, general public etc. ) - National Food Stores for businesses/companies only, sells larger quantities and is cheaper per 1 item in bulk. ( May benefit catering businesses, bonuses of being apart of business/company for more profit value. ) This is all just an idea but is realistic regarding sales and food items, but something like this should be put in.1 point

Preface: By no means do I consider myself an expert on the matter of Chinese roleplay, I've just spent some time doing it and want to share my knowledge. Originally I wrote out this stuff to post on our faction's discord for people to check out but I figured I might as well post it here too (certain texts have been altered for this version). This guide should give you the basics to roleplay a Chinese character, especially for those of you who are interested in joining our Chinese community based in Textile City. Chinese roleplay has some serious depth to it if you're willing to take the plunge. Characters can vary significantly due to their/their family's geographic origin, affecting the language/s they speak, the food they make, to generalize, their culture and lifestyle as a whole. I'll add that Shah of Persia has an extremely well written in-depth guide on the matter of Chinese roleplay and I highly recommend checking it out, that is once the old forums are visible again (as of writing this thread its still hidden). Geography, Language and Culture The People's Republic of China administers 34 provincial-level divisions or first-level divisions, including 22 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities, and 2 special administrative regions and 1 claimed province. China is big, so big it's divided up into pieces, and those pieces are divided into smaller pieces which are divided into smaller pieces and so on. Different regions in China have different cultures, and more importantly, languages. When speaking about the language, the term "Chinese" is an extreme generalization since it's actually divided to various languages that for the most part are not mutually intelligible, though they do share the same writing system/s (traditional or simplified Chinese characters, aka Hanzi). Among these languages are Standard Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Wu, Gan and some others. The geographical origin of your character's family is important here because it will affect the first thing you decide when creating a character, said character's name. Because of there being different languages between regions, pronunciation may vary greatly and while the writing system for all the languages is the same, the sounds the characters make are completely different, and by extension how they are written in English. An example of this is the Mandarin name Wang, an extremely popular name among Chinese people. In Cantonese the name is written and pronounced Wong and in Wu Chinese it can be Waon or Whang. Wherever you choose your character's family to have originated from should impact the way their last name is spelled and the Chinese dialect they speak. Have fun with it, research regional culture and customs to represent in your character and achieve it's full potential. You can find a Wikipedia article containing a chart with Chinese surnames and their romanizations according to language here. Mandarin as a bridge language Due to the various languages spoken throughout the Chinatown environment a bridge language is required (a language or dialect systematically used to make communication possible between groups of people who do not share a native language or dialect), usually in addition to their original regional language, unless the bridge language is their regional language. In our community we will be using Standard Mandarin as a bridge language, meaning that if you roleplay a character originating from our community it is optional for him to speak Standard Mandarin in addition to whatever dialect native to his geographic origin. If your character originated from elsewhere in the city, country or otherwise, and only recently moved into or around the Chinatown it is entirely possible they will not speak Standard Mandarin unless as previously mentioned, their geographical origin would make it logically so. This does not mean other languages will not be spoken throughout the community, rather we highly encourage people to create varied characters, not necessarily even Chinese. Roleplaying a non-Chinese Asian character in the Chinatown community is totally fine. The use of this bridge language is simply to permit the majority of characters in our community to communicate on a comprehensive level. In fact, no one said your character has to be good at the bridge language, neither do they have to speak it at all for that matter if you choose to do so. The choice is yours. Face Interesting as the Chinese physiological face is, the psychological face makes a still more fascinating study. It is not a face that can be washed or shaved, but a face that can be "granted" and "lost" and "fought for" and "presented as a gift". Here we arrive at the most curious point of Chinese social psychology. Abstract and intangible, it is yet the most delicate standard by which Chinese social intercourse is regulated. Simply put, face is a concept within Chinese society that can be translated as honor, respect or social standing. This is actually a widespread concept throughout Asia and other parts of the world and can even be seen in how most street gangs operate socially. This is especially relevant in a Chinatown setting where as much effort as possible is put in to ensure the continuation and preservation of Chinese culture against the surrounding Western culture/s that attempt to influence these communities. At it's core, face is how people perceive you. To lose face is to be seen as less, to gain face is to be seen as more, and to save face means you have managed to maintain your status despite some sort of incident that could have cost you face. Actions have consequences, and people will look at you with disdain if you are a stain on their society, however they may also think highly of you if you are an upstanding member of the community. On the subject of Snakeheads, Triads and Tongs (This is a very brief explanation of each term so you may be acquainted with it, recommended to research on your own if it interests you) Snakeheads are individuals involved in human trafficking and smuggling. If you need to get into America illegally from China, you get in contact with a Snakehead who will get you in, for a price. Triads are illegal organizations, usually secret societies originating in China. Triads do not exist within the United States of America. A Triad may however have operations that extend to America or groups operating under them within that territory. Tongs are benevolent organizations founded within Chinatowns that serve as community centers of sorts.
