This will be a showcasing section for me, showing off mods I've done in the past and present for GTAV. Everything that's shown off here is done by me, either created from scratch using my own, or other video games assets and everything will have its proper credits upon release. I hope everyone enjoys my work and gives feedback no matter what all feedback is accepted and taken as creative criticism. Thank you all and enjoy. I also take requests if you'd like anything regarding clothes, accessories, environmental and animations either PM me here or contact me on Discord at cranky#0017 Clothing/Accessories Some clothes and accessories I've worked on or am currently working on. Animations A few animations that are either WIP or done, for now these will be showcased for my faction and later down the line I'll most likely end up doing animations for all LA gangs. You're talking about years ago, and not in recent times. As we said before, it's very easy to criticize something from the outside looking in. What people often didn't see is people spending hours online waiting for a call, to get dispatched out finally, only to arrive on scene and have the player accept death immediately. That is very demotivating. This is a more niche area of roleplay. We're not law enforcement officers, we're not out patrolling the streets, we don't have the ability to just interact with people on a traffic stop, or other altercation. We're there when there's a fire, which due to the server rules, was rare, or in the case of medical emergencies that could be handled within our scope. Many people were salty over losing a shootout, and would often rush through medical roleplay, or PM us to tell us to hurry, or they'd AFK / force a crash to avoid the medical roleplay, simply because they didn't want to do it. During my time in the faction I've had members request fires a multitude of times, and when we had Admins available, they were so excited to participate. In the days of old, when I first joined in 2019, and before that, there was a certain lack of interest in the firefighting side. That changed with Genny becoming the Chief, and with the current team we have now. They're very dedicated, and have all contributed to a more equal interest in each half of our faction. We're a Fire Department, but we can't force players to be arsonists, just as you can't force people in real life to be arsonists. Even for our real life-counterpart, 75% of the LAFD's calls are medical based. We're a service to the public in their time of need, we can't force people to injure themselves, we're there in case of emergency. It's to be expected that we'll have slower shifts, and sometimes people don't realize how slow it'll be, which is why we always encouraged passive roleplay between faction members. This wasn't always obtainable because of different time zones, but it's a game, and we made do with what we could. Players might not always have an entire day to play the game. So if an Admin started a fire without checking that FD had enough units on, to see them log off "immediately after the 911 call", then that's to be expected. Clear communication between faction and Administration would be needed for a pre-set fire. And as I said, waiting hours for calls only to be left with nothing can be demotivating. I'm speaking from experience when there were never any active Firefighters on when I'd first joined, in my time zone and play time at least. Genny and I have worked very hard in conjunction with our current team to get everyone in a much more active state. The server itself was lower on activity in the months leading up to its closing, so with a slower server, it wasn't always guaranteed to have bustling shifts every single day. You're also probably thinking of the old days of training. I've personally been responsible for recruitment and training for the last year. Nothing was ever copy/pasted, nor was it in the year before that when Genny was leading it. She and I always made it personal, and interacted with everyone involved. Trainings are detailed enough that players can comprehend what is to be expected of them on-duty should they graduate, whether or not they have any prior medical knowledge or experience. You were a recruit during my time, but had left the server shortly into your time in FD, so you didn't get to see much of the current faction from an insider's perspective. You left the faction on January 12th of 2020βnearly two years ago. You never joined the Training and Support Bureau either, so you didn't get to see the manuals for the division which I personally wrote. Genny and I disallowed copy and paste formats, as we wanted each class to be personal, and unique to the class at hand. While the material was the same at its base, you'd never experience the same class twice, just because of how different each recruit was. No two recruits asked the same question in the same way, and some would roleplay more in-depth, while others wouldn't, which just comes with the territory of a roleplay community. As for the length, we can only go by what was done on SAMP. The EMT classes took anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how fast recruits would type, or how much they wanted to participate and engage in banter with the instructor(s). There is a lot to go over, and the majority of it is typing, because you need to explain the core of medical scenes, and explain everything that comes with handling them. Our firefighting classes took anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour, again depending on the recruits' participation, and how much they wanted to hear from or talk with instructors. One of our Captains who is in TSB was very dedicated, and enjoyed giving everyone more detailed lectures, and encouraged a back and forth Q&A session before or after each class. Academies are a crucial part of the faction's foundation, because these classes allow a safe and comfortable environment for recruits to learn the ropes, without the fear of being shot by some random gangster, or having their screen flooded with a bunch of random text that has nothing to do with their learning experience. This gives them a sense of what to expect from the faction before they're in the Field Training Program phase, so they'll be less overwhelmed when their first shift comes about. Genny and I are adamant on maintaining a personalized academy experience with the upcoming V server. Nothing will ever be a copy/paste! π2 points

Hello everyone, my name is DadoJ. I enjoy all things cars and law enforcement, so it's no surprise that my favorite video games revolve around both of those topics. I am particularly fond of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department, and have spent the majority of my life researching them, and familiarizing myself on everything they have that is publicly available. When not playing on LS-RP, I very much enjoy playing both LCPDFR and LSPDFR. The GTA series has always been one of my favorites, especially with all of the modifications that are available to download. I have always adored the customizable approach that PC gaming offers. I find it much easier to immerse yourself in the game that you're playing, when the models mimic their real-life counterparts. I am currently engaged to, and in a long distance relationship with the love of my life. (Who I refer to as "Lady Dado"). We've known each other for several years, and I couldn't imagine life without her. She and I have always connected through roleplay servers, and LS-RP is no exception. While we work through the tedious details of conquering the long distance aspect, we find plenty of ways to enjoy our time together. We try our very best to include one another in everything we do, as life is more enjoyable with someone special by your side! I have been a part of the LS-RP server since 2017, and it is by far the best server I've experienced in my ten plus years of roleplaying. This place has given me the ability to meet people from all over the world, and every walk of life. It is a very diverse server, and I believe the text-based approach offers a lot more freedom to its users in terms of character development. The text-based style is very inclusive, and allows you to fully immerse yourself into the world of your character, and spend a day in their shoes. LS-RP is a one of a kind place, and it is very easy to get caught up in your character's experiences. I enjoy being able to enter this virtual world, and live out a life I might not otherwise get the chance to. I am currently a Senior Tester and have been part of the LS-RP Staff Team since May of 2018. It is definitely a unique experience to be part of the staff team, but I've enjoyed every minute of it. I have always enjoyed helping others, and often find myself putting their needs above my own, so that is what lead me to join in the first place. I strive to be that helpful hand for the members of the server, so that I can pass on the help that I received when I was a new and inexperienced player. The Staff Team has not only given me a chance to help others, but it is allowing me to grow and improve upon my own roleplay in the process. At its core, the Staff Team is like a second family, and we're all doing our very best to support and encourage one another. I used to be a Senior Lead Administrator and the Head of Admins, which means I oversaw every Admin within the LS-RP Staff Team. Below you will find my journey through the Staff positions. I had a thought as I posted in the business expectation post, and wanted to garner some opinions on this idea. I intend on opening a mechanic shop / tow trucking business as I develop my character when the server opens. Traffic to these shops (at least in my personal experience) is usually limited to individuals who want to modify their vehicles. There is never an actual need to visit these business, and by that reasoning, visiting these locations is mere luxury. What if hypothetically there was an actual requirement to visit these mechanic shops on a basis determined by how well you operate your vehicle? Imagine this: As you drive your vehicle, damage influences a "maintenance required" value. This "maintenance required" value can be a mere percentage that grows higher as you poorly operate the vehicle. That includes damaging the vehicle, and even over regular extended use (at a slower pace of course). Once you reach that 100% thresh point, your vehicle will begin to experience random faults that can only be repaired at a mechanic shop. You cannot speed up past 50km/hr, your vehicle turns left when you attempt to turn right, you drive forward but it pushes you in reverse. These occurrences can all be random, and happen at an increasing rate as the vehicle's maintenance requirement increases in value. This post is intended to be an open discussion. Share your thoughts and ideas on the matter. If you think this is a dogshit idea and I'm out to lunch feel free to say so, I am open to all criticism on the suggestion.1 point

I think currently GTAW finds itself in the shoes LSRP were once in. By that I mean that they have a monopoly over the genre simply because there is no alternative, similarly to our community on SA:MP. Players stuck around because there was nowhere else to go. On GTAW what you've got is a server and community tailored around legal roleplayers, ran by legal roleplayers and heavily influenced by legal roleplayers. One sticking point that comes up time and time again is their IFM's lack of engagement, transparency and knowledge and this is the driving force behind the bulk of our roleplayers leaving their server. Now, a lot of people use this a basis to promote their roleplay but the fact of the matter is that it's the truth, their lack of regard for their illegal community is what will offer LSRP a way in. Over the course of the last few months it's been more evident than ever and their management's obliviousness to the fact is what adds insult to injury. For this server to hit the ground running what you have to do is capitalize on the shortcomings of the aforementioned server and strike while the iron's hot. Transparency will be a key factor in attracting these players. Deliverance will be what keeps them and the expectations and promises need to be fulfilled in order for this to come to fruition at all. Illegal roleplay shouldn't be prioritized by any means but it should be treated with the same amount of respect as legal roleplay and given the same opportunity of prosperity. Illegal roleplay has always been the foundation of LSRP but what made LSRP so consistent was its honesty, its openness and its lucidity. Transparency was always there one way or another. One look at their faction's forum and you realize that their faction management team are driving people into LSRP's arms and for years it's gone unnoticed and unaddressed because their has been no alternative. You can forget about servers like LCRP making a wave because they're not battled tested like LSRP is and don't have the following LSRP do, coupled with the fact that their management are as corrupt as the day is long. All these make-shift beliefs and idealisms are used to lure people in but it's nothing more than a false pretense and a power grab. In other words, in certain communities if you don't agree with somebody's modus operandi, they will find a way to ban you, silence you or misinterpret you. On LSRP I believe that the number one priority should be to put the power in the player's hands. For this to overtake its competitors and scratch the surface it's got to recognize the flaws of communities that don't work. LSRP is genuinely the last hope for those interested in illegal roleplay. We need to do as much as we can to emphasize that and promote the fact that the community and management are receptive to that or we're back to square one. It's in all of our interests if we're on the same wave length. All old community politics should be disregarded and the slate should be wiped clean. This will only work if we're all on the same page. Make LSRP great again.1 point

Without divulging into the past of LS-RP, I'm pretty sure that most people can agree of the various phases, stages and modes that the illegal roleplaying community, players and admins both went through. There are times were things seemed a lot better and times were I'm sure some of us felt the need to pull out hair. I focus upon illegal roleplay here because it is a big part of the server that goes to the opinion of many, unrequited on the largest competitor in the game at present. This is not a thread aimed at highlighting the issues that may exist within that community but looking at how such issues can be dealt with here to make the future of illegal RP even better. People are welcome to highlight why they agree or disagree with any of the points I will raise and share any ideas of their own. A collective focus to try and make everything feel more real, immersive. I'd say one problem that immediately springs to mind about the illegal community is how often at times, many gangs often felt as if they were foreign countries far-far until the point came where one gang had to shoot at another and then individuals who are now shooting at each other know pretty much nothing about the other gang. Realistically, you know the gangs you are beefing with, there is always blood ties, someones cousin, someone went to school with another member, hell, even somebody used to play xbox live with another member. I know these attributes are entirely human and we can not simulate them all with the little time we get to play, but I think it'd be cool to build a bridge. Remember how old factions forum would have an IC rumours, the streets, or whatever section? I think a say, totally opt-in, discord which focuses on the streets, welcome to everyone could be a good factor to try and make things feel more organic. This wouldn't really be a chat for people to fellate themselves and tell you about how many characters their body has, but to let people in a meaningful way, develop lore to their hoods. Not everyone will join it and that's fine, but I do believe this to be a good idea for more gang orientated characters. Even since LSRP was around the middle of it's life span in the 2015 social media has changed vastly with the whole Chicago era even having a ripple effect on gangs in Cali, NY and London. Net banging has a big effect on gang-banging through snapchat, tik-tok, twitter. Not just faceinvader/facebook. This'd be a good hub to encourage content that could survive on places like that. I'm not suggesting that people post on a discord chat like they're using tiktok, but for edited screenshots, etc etc - I think it could be a good place to post that there too. I know a lot of this can be stuff people put down to learning IC, but I think this plugs a whole new avenue of roleplay into the server. Even in character videos that might go viral within a community of an area, like the recent shooting of Oroy, a fight or whatever. They can often get posted on an in-character format on faceinvader and often just fall behind everything else. I think sharing it there is like how videos get downloaded, screen recorded saved and sent everywhere. Character kill applications. Some characters were cockroaches that could never die despite how many times they got lit up, /q to avoid. I do believe like on the competitor, if someone has a CK forced on them (following an application, etc, etc) they should receive the option to change the name of their character. Unless people are that desperate to get their friend go through the application progress to kill them, most people will spend the $1 on the namechange. Characters that are imprisoned are still alive and can try and get out of prison legally. At certain times, characters should be suspectible to being character killed. Like, once you joined a faction many of the character kill agreements felt rather one sided. There's sometimes infighting within hoods, over women, money, whatever and this can lead to people from the same set being killed. This could come both at permissions granted by the leaders of a faction or, faction management, a step above them. The hoods a struggle, people die. We should not let people get CK'd from usual dumb gang shit, but loosing ones character should be something enforced at times. Another thing that springs to mind is weed. San Andreas is San Andreas but let's be honest. It is modelled after California and, I think it should be representative of it. People might argue that it is an in character change to be made, but it is something else to be considered I think and something else that will help us stand out from opposition servers. We can still allow illegally, lots of weed to factions who are interested but I believe branded goods, goods from stores, weed shops IC add both a new avenue of roleplay legally and illegally. Weed legalisation will probably never happen on world. With a community of mostly young men, whatever anyone will vote party wise or RP in terms of politics would not fully represent the state as a whole and it is not that we need to dictate what happens in the servers IC politics scene, but San Andreas is sorta represenative of California in 2013 in a lot of GTA V and the roleplay servers that are based around it. The original LS was stuck in the past for a while too. I think modernising will really help.1 point

Hello everyone, As we enter December (already?? time flies when you're having fun), I'm eager to share some of the development and general progress updates. The last few weeks were once again very productive and even though there's still a lot of work and polish to be done, we're inching closer to an MVP every day. One of the major achievements over the last two months was that we were able to put together a final list of features for release, including detailed blueprints of how these features will work. This allows us to focus on development only as an overwhelming majority of the brainstorming is already done. If everything goes according to plan, we should be ready to announce a concrete release date within a week. The release date depends on how many issues we encounter during testing, how busy I'll be with work and how smoothly our final infrastructure deployment goes. Let me highlight some of the features we've worked on recently to hopefully satisfy your hunger for the new LS-RP. Drug System One of the most difficult systems for me to approach was the drug system. Every drug on the server will be unique in the effects it provides. These effects are divided into three categories - Visual, Positive and Negative. It's almost an art to find a way to balance the three aspects of each drug, while keeping them unique and desirable. We're launching with a handful of drugs only, but we already have plans for the near future to expand the system with more and more substances. Visual Effects Some of the drugs will have visual effects that affect the player's graphics and camera. With every drug, visual effects start as barely noticeable to mild for small and regular doses. The effects get more pronounced and wonky the more high you get, so it's up to you how much of the visual experience you want. Positive & Negative Effects While no drug will make you a superhuman, some of them tie into the damage system to give you an edge one way or another. The type and-or scale of the effect is different for each drug. It's worth noting that it also depends on the dose you take, in case of overdoing it, you might be overwhelmed by the negative effects more than helped by the positive ones. This paragraph is intentionally vague to encourage exploration after launch π Other interesting aspects of the system include an overdose script, which is different for alcohol, stimulants and opiates. Make sure to keep a Narcan handy! MDC The MDC on LS-RP was light years ahead of any other SA-MP server and we're aiming to achieve the same on GTA V as well. The UI is a simulated old Windows-like OS, complete with a window management system, process system and different programs for Legal tasks. The MDC will be available to the PD, SD, FD and GOV to handle their duties. We aim to move as much game-related functionality and record keeping into the game, instead of using external tools. In Conclusion Once again I'd like to say that your support and patience has been great. It's rewarding to see the interest and hype surrounding this project and I can't wait to jump in game with all of you to Roleplay in Los Santos again. Big thanks to everyone on our Discord and forums for keeping the community active, and everyone on Patreon for making the launch of this project possible. What do you guys think about disposable phones and phone boxes? To me, in order to guarantee a greater Roleplay immersion, those two things should be implemented as soon as possible ( if it is not possible to have them before launch ). Disposable Phones and Phone Boxes are untracked and it would guarantee a higher level of Roleplay ( talking about LCN, Organized Crime in general ). The reason why I created this topic is because it may not be seen as a necessity at server launch but actually I think it is. It would be nice if mapping team mapped phone boxes all around the city in order to guarantee easy accessibility to this system. Anyway, hence, also the downside: the possibility for some units ( eg. Major Crimes Division / Gang and Narcotics etc.. ) to trace cell phone numbers ( once they know them ) in order to increase the possibility for them to develop investigations and interact with organizations.1 point

Well this is in the general discussion thread, so no need to move it to player support or whatever. Feel free to talk it out here and post your questions and opinions here. The use of the underscore makes it easier for people to do commands on other players. For example paying, selling cars, giving weapons/drugs, etc. It is far easier to do it with an underscore in case there is a person with the same name on the server at the same time. That is how it's been done on SAMP, but might change on LSRP:V with the addition of for example proximity commands. If there is for example two Johns on the server and you do /pay John, it'll pay the closest John to your character. BUT! Legal Faction /forums/ have switched the format from Name_Lastname to Name Lastname. The current UCP that early supporters/staff have has the old underscore format still. But I'm sure that it's a subject to change, same goes for the in-game name and healthbar that you can see in the snippets, etc. At the end of the day, we might keep the underscore format. I'm pulling the information out of my ass and there is two more months of server development, there will be a lot of changes and the names are not a priority compared to the other systems that need to be done and perfected.1 point

Hey there! I created this topic to have a discussion or rather to give some ideas about the state of motorcycle clubs' patches. Those, who have roleplayed around the biker scene, will know that most of the time the only way to know which club a player represents is through /me and /ame. In a sense it is rather exhausting to have a preset of your patches on CTRL + C and CTRL + V or a keybind (on SAMP) and have to spam it all the time, when you have a gathering, ride, charity, etc. Moreover, when a group of around 10 or more bikers roll around in the city, it was an eye-sore to see all of the purple text popping above the riders heads. Let alone to be able to read what text was being displayed in the ocean of purple /ames or /mes and I don't think people would want to scroll through the text to see a patch of a biker, who they might not see ever again. That being said, I want to address some ideas of mine to the public and perhaps hear some of your thoughs on this. Now GTA V has a lot of modding possibilities. My first idea would sound something like this (of course if it is possible): why not to create/add a mod of vests, with pre-attached patches to it so the whole server would be able to see them. It could be an item obtainable in a shop or something in a familiar style. To prevent people from buying these vests and just creating chaos, these clothings could be linked to a rank in a official faction. Not only this would prevent trolls from abusing the clothing, but also could push unofficial motorcycle clubs to take their faction more serious as the end goal could not only be being and official faction but also your "colors" displayed to the whole server. The second suggestion is almost the same as the first one, but perhaps, these patches/vests would be available for factions, that are potentional candidates for the official status. This way the faction would know that they are going the right path and it would boost their self-esteem as it would be somewhat of an achievement that they managed to get. I think something familiar could be done with other type of factions too, like giving them environments/ custom tattoos/ graffities etc. Everything comes down to making the game more realistic and perhaps giving people new achievements towards the official status as the path to it could be bumpy, with a lot of people losing interest along the way. I would like to hear the community's perspective on this. Perhaps, with the input of you guys this idea could be polished even more and become a reality.1 point

We will be allowing people to upload their own textures for vests when they become verified. This has already been in talks inside the Faction Team and already have a plan in place and a lot of the MC faction leaders are already aware of the plans the modding and faction team have βΊοΈ1 point

I suggest an application process should be devised and made available for people who wish to roleplay as arms dealers, be they roleplaying with factions or not. This application process should determine a couple of things. where the guns are coming from, who, if anyone, is getting the guns for the player, what the player is planning to do with the weapons, what's the long term goal for the character (kind of breaking the OOC/IC divide here, unfortunately) and the player should be making clear any and all OOC/IC affiliations they have with any factions, all this relatively long application should serve to dissuade and weed out people who would just be going "/me would get the guns from Texas" and merrily skipping off to sell guns to their OOC friends. The ultimate objective of this application system is to make sure that there is a realistic weapon-to-end-user pipeline. * The official faction monopoly on firearms is broken, this would made guns resemble more a commodity like any other that is subject to supply and demand, and since more supply would be introduced in the form of these unofficial arms dealers, it would help keep guns at a stable, realistic and attainable price, staving off inflation for a longer time, and diminishing its effects when it inevitably happens. * More supply of firearms in the hands of smaller dealers means that gangbangers are no longer forced to totally-not-metagame the name of some important Italian or Russian and try to get in good with them - it gives street gangs, stick up crews and other similar factions street-level weapons dealers that they can realistically gel with well enough. * Factions without OOC connections and copious amounts of money aren't hopeless anymore, since these street level dealers are supposedly far more accessible in terms of where they're situated in the criminal totem-pole. * Players who are not affiliated with any official criminal factions now have the slim possibility of roleplaying an arms dealer, opening up new avenues of roleplay. * A handful of official factions are no longer the ultimate arbiters of who gets to engage in criminal roleplay. Let's be real here, without weapons, a TON of avenues of RP are closed off to factions, no robberies, no faction attacks, no self-defence, no gun re-selling. The former system is good, but it places a ridiculous amount of trust and power into the hands of very few people. * Gives the factions team (?) more avenues through which to control the supply of guns into the server. If whoever deals with this thinks there's too few guns in the server and is already handing out as many weapons as he's comfortable with to all the official factions, then applications can simply be opened and new weapons dealers made. And as always, if there's too many guns, you can always just lower the amount you give out. However there are some cons as well. * You risk flooding the server with dirt cheap, disposable weapons, which could lead to an increase in people shooting each other over minor perceived slights, deathmatching, aggression baiting police, etc etc. Nothing new, but always worth thinking about. * More work for the various teams as the supply of firearms has to be fine-tuned to keep the server well-supplied, but not bursting. * Whichever team is tasked with dealing with these applications (faction team? mods? testers?) will be opened up to criticism, unwarranted or not, and community scrutiny regarding which applications they're accepting and denying. * Slightly lowers the prestige of being an official faction. * More OOC systems in place, more opportunities for meta gaming and favoritism. In my opinion the pros far, far outweigh the cons. This also gives the PD the opportunity of minor investigations on individual weapons dealers to take down. Being accepted into this weapon dealer program should come with the stipulation that the PD is given permission to take you down permanently if they manage to build a case against you, encouraging good criminal roleplay and regularly weeding out characters too stupid or short sighted to last long , as well as giving the investigation arms of the police something to do other than build cases against official factions. I could stay here and wax poetic about all the incredible RP opportunities this would bring to both sides but I'm going to leave it here since this is already a really long winded post.1 point

I suppose, but the idea is that vehicle wear is variable, and based on how you drive. If you have to re-park your shit 30 times a day because you drive like Jackie Chan from Rush Hour, it shouldn't matter how much of an inconvenience it is to repair the vehicle, portraying realism is the intent of roleplay and life is riddled with inconveniences. You having to spend 10 minutes driving to a mechanic for him to roleplay a quick service shouldn't foster a bitter RP experience, it should send you down an avenue of RP you probably would not have normally experienced, or even chose to entertain. Having to visit a mechanic shop for all sorts of servicing is definitely not what I am suggesting here. I shall reiterate, one single value on the vehicles durability is all that is required. Once it reaches a certain threshold you should experience some kind of limitations while operating your vehicle. Anything such as reduced maximum speed to a reduction in handling. It doesn't mean your vehicle should shit the bed completely and require a tow, but the more you let the required repairs to fix your "durability" value linger, the more inhibited your driving experience should be. In addition, based on the vehicle type / value, the rate at which your vehicle begins to incur symptoms that require repair should vary. Off-roading vehicles are meant to be durable, economy vehicles are meant to be a budget friendly option at the cost of durability. You catchin my drift?1 point

What excites me a lot is that I get to work with a modern technology stack and pass my real life knowledge of it on, instead of being stuck with an ancient version of Pawn ... And just the sheer amount of opportunity and chances to grow as a community.1 point

Hi all, Rules of Engagement The Faction Team has completely re-written the Rules of Engagement and this has now been finalized. The Rules of Engagement may be subject to amendments/changes after server launch. A Q&A topic will be created in the Faction Team Public Section to ask questions about the ROE. No suggestions for alterations to the ROE will be taken until at-least a month after the server has launched and it has been trialed. The Rules of Engagement can be found on the top menu bar under 'Rules'. For ease, you can also find the Rules of Engagement here. All Factions are expected to familiarize themselves with the Rules of Engagement, no grace period will be given after the launch of the server - hence why these are being released now pre-launch to give everyone a reasonable amount of time to get familiar with them. Faction Team Public Faction Team Public has now been re-created and has been set up on the new forums. This is ran and managed by the entire Faction Team. If you're interested in providing your input on the illegal roleplay scene then joining the Faction Team Public is one of the first steps to joining the Faction Team. You'll be responsible for providing your input on any topics surrounding illegal roleplay and factions, along with coming up with ideas and suggestions of your own to enhance the illegal roleplay scene. In order to be considered for the Faction Team Public you're required to have experience and knowledge of the illegal roleplay scene. We're looking for individuals who are able to work well within a team and can maintain a consistent activity. You must also have a good standing within the community. You can join the Faction Team Public here. You may have to wait some time for your membership to be accepted or denied. Faction Team Recruitment We are once again looking to add some fresh faces to the Faction Team. If you're someone with an interest in developing the illegal roleplay scene on LS-RP then this position may be of interest to you! You'll be expected to actively contribute towards discussions surrounding illegal roleplay and factions and attend team meetings on a weekly basis. We're looking for people with experience and knowledge of the illegal roleplay scene who can work well within a team. You're also required to be a member of Faction Team Public and be actively contributing there to be considered for the team. Information on joining the Faction Team can be found inside the Faction Team Public section here. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all! Thanks for reading, Baker0 points

Hey everyone, Hope everyone's doing well and getting ready for the holiday season. December was always special around LS-RP, I remember all the treasure hunts and winter/Christmas events we used to hold. I'm looking forward to seeing something like that in-game again as we celebrate the season... next year. It's been quite challenging over the last few months to keep track of the remaining work. Trying to keep tabs on all the features in my brain has proven quite inefficient, so instead of trying to remember what I'm supposed to be doing and which features are left to develop or test, we made a list. This list itemized every single outstanding feature or activity we've yet to complete before the server is launch-ready. As I was compiling this list a few weeks ago I realized that even that isn't enough. Really, is the trucking system the same as a phone call? Much different; so we started adding estimates to everything. 4 hours to finish phone calls, 16 hours to finish trucking, 2 hours here 4 there and so on. I've done estimations on an enterprise level in the past and it's a known secret that at the start of the project, unless you have a thorough specification, they're just made up numbers. Nobody knows and everyone's guess is meaningless, you're just working in a ballpark. Since we're nearing the end of the initial development, we're in a different position and it's much easier for us to list out all the things we've yet to do. So we've done that, and estimated how much it'll take. Based on these numbers, we realized that we've underestimated the amount of work remaining when we scheduled the release for Q4 2021. With the rest of the leadership, we were facing the following options: Option 1: Release in Q4 2021. We release in Q4 2021, as late as possible, but still meet the deadline. This gives us the pros of keeping up on our promise and taking advantage of the hype the LS-RP project currently has. The downside of this option is that we'd be releasing a game mode without a lot of important features and with a lot of potential bugs, since we'd have to be adding new features all the way to the launch date. Lacking features and bugs will result in a disappointed community and a potential loss of players. Option 2: Postpone the release for the 2nd time. We delay the release a bit. This allows us to work on features we deem essential but didn't manage to complete just yet. We have enough time to properly test these features (shoutout to our staff by the way - you've done amazing job testing so far). The dreaded disadvantage of going with this option is that we won't deliver on our promise that we'd release Q4, which can lead to the community being disappointed, leading to a potential loss of players. Which one would you choose? Let me know. Since we started deliberating postponing again, I had to go back and read my statement when we had to postpone to Q4. Here's a quote from that post: As I'm reading that I realize that we're in the very same situation now - how come though? Did nothing change since September? There's been no major inactivity for any of the devs or leads, or any "major roadblocks" I could think of that'd cause this delay. I tried to identify the reasons why we're delaying again and this is what I got: - We underestimated the amount of work remaining. The estimate that we should be done by Q4 was not backed by any real numbers, but rather a "gut feeling". - We've added new things to the scope for release. Those things were usually features which we deemed essential but forgot about them early on; or were only made aware of them now. - We spent a lot of time focusing on detail and polish of existing features. - Personal and professional obligations of the team, although this one was kept to a surprising minimum during Q4. After hours of deliberation, we chose option 2. We've taken several steps to make sure this is the last date we give you. We wanted to work towards a concrete date instead of a vague time range ("summer", "q4"). - As mentioned previously, we made an itemized of all remaining features and activities until we're release-ready. - We've added a estimate in hours to every remaining item or activity. - We're accounting for a % of risk dedicated to fixing bugs and unforeseen difficulties. This risk is currently set to 10%. - We've created metrics to monitor whether we're ahead of, or behind schedule. This allows us to play with the scope and reevaluate our current assignments if we're falling behind schedule. Based on these steps and metrics, we came up with the official release date of LS-RP:V on February 24th, 2022. Community Involvement With the release being postponed by just a bit over month and a half, we're looking for ways to keep the community engaged with what we're doing. Here's some milestones you can look forward to in the near future: - Character Customization made available ahead of launch, first for Patrons and later for the general public. - Character Applications made available ahead of launch to the general public. - Staff Reinstatements opening ahead to get ready for launch. The concrete dates of each will be announced separately at one point or another; but we're aiming to release the character customization server this week. There's a few more things we've up our sleeves to keep the community engaged, but I don't want to announce them just yet as they're not as thought through as the rest. If you have any ideas yourself, my inbox is always open. Progress Update I'll try to include a progress update where it makes sense when I write these posts. This should give you the idea of where we are in terms of the schedule and how much work is remaining in different parts of the code. Here's the current status: I've been on a mission to be as transparent as reasonably possible during the development of LS-RP:V. I had a lot to learn from the SA-MP days and I sincerely hope that the information we give you is keeping you excited during the wait; whether it's snippets, blog posts or just random talks on Discord. It's hard at times as we don't want to give away too much for several reasons. Sharing this progress update is yet another step in trying to balance out communication, element of surprise and competitive advantage. Closing Statement I understand any and all feelings of frustration at the announcement today. It's not fun news, but at the same time it's good news. It allows us to work on delivering what we've initially set out to make. I'd like to express my gratitude to the entire staff team who has been actively engaging in improving the server's features and standing behind the project the whole time; to the patrons who keep our infrastructure bills on time and to the community for believing in the project. Thank you for being understanding. If you'd like to be closer to the action, consider joining our discord at https://discord.gg/ls-rp, where we post snippets of our work. Kind regards and happy holiday season, Mmartin on behalf of LS-RP Staff0 points
