  1. it's nice of you, as an admin, to try and belittle my experience like this. very professional! and fyi i've played LSRP since 2009, and have had multiple XMRs through my time on the server so i'm fully aware of how it all works thanks. your idea that easier access to URL streaming will diminish DJ RP came off as very gatekeepery, especially when you plan to rp a DJ yourself. we don't all revolve around your niche form of roleplay and there's dozens of other applications for widened XMR usage - something entirely possible now with correct sanitation and checks hell, put the ability to stream directly from different URLs behind a paywall for all i care but if we take this approach that everything must be babied by admins 24/7 then nothing is gonna get implemented

  2. Hey everyone, We've decided to once again move our release date. First and foremost, please accept our apologies. I understand the frustration everyone must be feeling, and you aren't alone. Our biggest challenge is time. Every release date we've set, whether February 24st or week of March 21st, has been calculated based on current development team availability which has proven to change unexpectedly more often than not, leading us to continue to undercalculate our progress and release timeframes. Nonetheless, I won't give you any excuses. We gave out a date and we should be expected to meet it, that is on us. Once again, we're sorry for the continued false promises. With that being said, the work hasn't stopped. We're very close to launching and I'm prepared to show you a sheet of outstanding features. You can see that list here: Features list The features listed are the current prerequisites to us launching. It's been a busy month for all of us in the development team but I'm still able to assure you that development is not going to and has never stopped. We're working hard to get this out. I hope everyone understands that we have never delayed because we want to but because we had to. At this time I am not prepared to give you another release date. I'll post another announcement as soon as I have that information. We'll continue to regularly post development snippets and update you as we make progress. Once again, please accept our most humble apologies and thank you for your understanding & your continued support. Thank you, Kane Lead Developer

  3. i know everybody got priorities irl but sorry dude, apparently nothing changed with LSRP, same old habits, yall cant keep ur word on a release date and this aint a good sign.. same old staff typical behavior from lsrp, unfortunately, before the server even launches lol, some of us grew up with LS and are old farts now and would like to see this shit thrive but yall killed it with these moves and i'll be the one to say it for everybody here (at least people who think like me) not sure what's going on here i hope u realize u just killed the hype with this, don't make promises u cant keep, if its gonna take 1 year to release it, tell the people its gonna take 1 year, dont tell them its gonna take 2 months then come back and say someone broke into ur house or whatever then come back and move it again, the server was supposed to release like 9 or 8 months ago, how did you even come up with that if u knew there's still alot to do?

  4. You are welcome to join this community server dedicated to all players who roleplay in motorcycle clubs. Once you join DM anyone with "Permission" role to get your own faction's role set up.

  5. As I've said before and to many people: the delays themselves don't bother me. The management around the delays is what's bothered me. Thank you Kane for sharing this list of what remains - as it feels like the only time where we've really had any idea of where we're up to and what remains. With that being said, we've had weeks of uncertainty and I'm not afraid to say that I feel like more could and should have been done to keep everyone up to date on where things have been at. There have also been opportunities to keep interest piqued which have been missed; I sent some of these ideas to Ben, but they were ignored. And frankly, to hear on the most recent meeting (which was still over a week ago, maybe two?) "I'm really excited about the launch and I hope you are too" just felt like a slap in the face. I have been one of the people who's vehemently defended the staff team, Mmartin and the delays that have happened. I understand, fully and wholeheartedly, that you're doing this in your spare time and that everyone has jobs and lives besides this. You, as an individual, along with the other developers that have picked things up in Mmartin's stead, are very good in my eyes and I feel sorry for you having to deal with such fallout when you've done everything you can. The snippets, for instance, have been one of the few things keeping people informed of where things are at. The sad fact here though is that in my eyes, the script and the physical release of the server has only been part of the problem. Keeping people fully informed has been one major issue, and I believe that there must surely be other things that could have occupied everyone's time and attention in the meantime. For instance, talk about the discussions that have been had regarding SA lore. Talk about the updates to laws. Show that the lead team has been listening to suggestions and so on. Show people that fucks are still being given. This again is not directed at you. I'm directing it more at anyone who claims to manage this community as a whole. Opportunities have been missed, the communication failures have been nigh on endless, and faith is being lost on a daily basis as a result. I'm not even sure if, at this point, anything that is said or done could convince me that this is still worth keeping an eye on. The manner it's been managed leaves much to be desired, and makes me worry for any time in the future in which difficult situations might arise again

  6. That's a bad excuse. LS:RP is a business and it should start acting like one. Real life obligations are and always will be there, but it is his responsibility to put them aside in order to grow his business. If you are seeking to create something good/innovative/unique, you need to make sacrifices. Yeah he took unpaid time off... Am I supposed to praise him for that? Should I applaud the fact that he took unpaid time off to build his own business that makes him money? He's not running a charity, there's nothing for me to "respect". There's a patreon up that generates almost a grand a month, that's the whole point behind that, to fund the endeavor and ensure that if he needs to take some unpaid time off, he can without starving or being homeless. Here's a question for you. Since you guys are admittedly getting hit by real life responsibilities (which like I said is not an excuse when you run your own business but anyway) and an increasingly large volume of tickets, why don't you try to make part of the work opensource so that community devs contribute to it or on-board more volunteer developers? You don't need to give them access to everything if you're afraid of leaks, hell don't even give them anything. I dev for multiple FiveM servers and I don't have access to any of their core frameworks. I make them minimum viable products and then they trim them to their needs. My two cents.

  7. if u all struggle this hard just to launch ur server the hope for ongoing dev and support is pretty miserable theres only so far u can ride the nostalgia train before ppl realize ur incompetent/lazy

  8. Sorry to break it to you, but the hype is dead at this point. Y'all gotta commit to your deadlines, this is how it works. I'm wondering what could the server provide back during the summer of 2021 when the opening was supposed to take place in the first place? 😂 Kinda disappointing.

  9. why is a lawnmowing job on the list for a minimum release? y can u give people piggybacks??? just release the server without all this useless shit and add it in the future. people never expected lsrp to outdo world in terms of features they just wanted more of an emphasis on illegal RP and better staff

  10. I don't mind delays but when it's getting to the point where you can't even meet your own deadlines then we have a problem on our hands. I get it, the staff has personal lives but don't scream out random release dates and constantly delay and delay to the point where the community gets really pissed off and leave altogether. Just work on the server and don't announce a date until you're certain that the server is ready to be played on.

  11. What a coincidence that was that Mmartin's house was broken into right before launch. 😆

  12. I understand wanting to release something that's stable and playable but if LSRP can't keep to a simple release date that's really not a good sign for the future, either have a release date and stick to it or don't have one at all. I understand there have been circumstances IRL for Mmartin and that's fine, I'll even give the man my warmest wishes in that regard. But that can only carry a certain amount of goodwill towards someone who was all but absent from the community until LSRPV was announced out of nowhere after leaving the old server to rot. I've always been supportive of LSRP, even as the old server was dying but I'm slowly starting to loose faith that this will ever see the light of day or if it does, that it won't end up the same way as the SAMP server did when people loose interest and the initial hype dies down. I really hope I'm wrong, but right now it's not looking good.

  15. ngl players not knowing the difference between live mixing and a YT playlist sounds like a you issue. punishing them by restricting access to a popular feature just so you can rp a DJ better is selfish as fuck sanitize inputs properly and give players a quick-client side toggle to mute stations. other communities do this just fine and if a beloved server with dozens of admins and testers cant find the time to teleport to someone playing explicit content, listen for 5 second, ban them and then leave then idk lol the most obvious solution is to just have a place on the UCP you can upload custom streams to and have testers/admins/or even a selection of hand picked players hop on to accept/verify which i think is whats gonna happen anyways

  16. Sorry but your proposal sounds like an RPG server. People have a lot of fun roleplaying realistic characters in realistic scenarios - the mall rats had the name for a reason, that always ruined the fun for whoever was in the area(got my car stolen more than 5 times from there even though the place was in the middle of the city and realistically no one would steal a car from a place like that, countless fights, people just messing around), and it created this 'bubble' of middle to low roleplay, which eventually affected the server's reputation. The whole purpose of LSRP is that here people have a high standard when it comes to roleplay, compared to other communities or servers where players want the 'fun(which is not fun at all) part. Lack of roleplay would basically label LSRP as a middle to low roleplay server where people can mess things up - that's why people who acted like that always got punished. I remember when I was an admin that I caught this group of 4 guys in a car basically killing people at 6AM for no reason, and when I questioned them they simply said 'we just wanted to have fun', which, to me, makes no excuse to their behaviour. As someone else said above, the definition of fun can vary from a guy to another, that's why we have a variety of factions and groups, where some are more character development oriented, where others are oriented to making money and have fun like you said (brawls, etc.). I think that we have the right balance between fun and realistic environments. Mall rats will always exists, and it's OK because it creates the proper place for people who want to 'have fun' to have a place for that, but for the rest of us I believe we would want to keep it classy and realistic. The mall had an RPG feeling around it, because those people barely did any proper roleplay or had any intention to pursue a development of a character - they all had expensive cars and fancy clothes and went from a club to another, had some 'fun' and that was it. I was a mallrat when I started here because I had no idea what to do, so it's OK to hang out at first when you don't know anyone and you look for any roleplay to exercise, but after a while I joined a lot of factions and changed my attitude when it came to roleplaying. tldr: LSRP is a high standard roleplay server, the 'fun' part that you're describing sounds a lot like an RPG server which I doubt anyone will want to have here - 'fun' means something else for everyone of us, and I think that more than 50-60% of people here are for quality roleplay and not DMing people.

  17. I'm interested in why you would want to make rolling a joint more difficult. It's pretty easy in real life and none of the items you mentioned (beside papers) are actually required to roll a joint. However, from what I understand is that you'd like to see more drug paraphernalia available at some point to make drug usage more immersive. Not a bad idea and I think it would open up opportunities for people who'd like to run a head shop that sells bongs, or simply a 24/7 that sells papers, swishers and all that stuff.

  18. What if your character isn’t a biker per-sé but does like bikes and likes hanging out around bikers? Plus OOCly I’d love to see how this will turn out! Can I also join?
