  1. Hey all, Today I'm happy to showcase to you guys how far along we've came with our damage system which is just about complete. It's been really fun testing and we can't wait for you guys to hop in game soon and experience it yourself. Check out this video by @Xanakin to see more about it: We really brainstormed how to handle damages and different type of weapons and I think we came out with a pretty solid system. We currently have more than 60 custom inventory weapons implemented and more than 20 different ammo types. Each weapon will have a base damage and a list of compatible ammo and a range of distances it can fire accurately and how far. V's native range for hitting targets is quite large so this was necessary to do. Each ammo type will be configured with a different multiplier. So some types of ammo will be stronger, some will be weaker and so forth. When it comes to deciding how much damage it's time to give, it all comes down to these factors: base damage, ammo multiplier, distance and bodypart. Some bodyparts will increase your damage, and some may lower it. Another part of our system that I'm quite happy about is the attachment system! We've added just about every weapon component that exists on GTA V and that will all be accessible. As demonstrated in the video, you'll be able to have each piece in your inventory and use them on weapons it's compatible with (not all can have attachments)!   2. Hey everyone, Today we're launching character customization for those who already have an accepted character and are a member of our staff, insider program or an active1 patron. To find out if you're eligible, simply log in on ucp.ls-rp.com and you will see a prompt: After whitelisting your IP, give it a few minutes and you'll be able to connect to server.ls-rp.com using your RageMP client, where you log in with the same details as into the UCP. After that, you'll be prompted to choose a character and customize it. You can customize your character as many times as you want pre-launch. If you don't like where you left off, you can return another day and change it entirely. This is something that won't be available after launch - key features of a character won't be adjustable with a few minor exceptions. We're working on adding more outfits, especially female ones, so you'll be able to go back and change it as well. If you face any issues with the character creator tool, please reach out to our staff team on Discord and they'll be able to guide you, or forward your issue to our development team. RageMp released an update today to a core system we're using in the character creator; so we anticipate there may be some issues. Last thing worth noting is that we've heard you and we'll be increasing the character slots to 2 pre-launch, probably sometime next week. If you aren't an active patron anymore, you will be able to customize your character once, a day or two before launch.

  3. The goal is for different types of ammo to be more useful in different situations (ie against armor, vehicles etc). Even if there's no difference initially, it's a great avenue to expand the system in the future, for any ammo type.

  4. I believe a thriving judicial and correctional system is paramount for either end of the spectrum and it's role to keep the server in-check and as balanced as possible. We have seen this done before and witnessed the praise it received.

  5. I had a thought as I posted in the business expectation post, and wanted to garner some opinions on this idea. I intend on opening a mechanic shop / tow trucking business as I develop my character when the server opens. Traffic to these shops (at least in my personal experience) is usually limited to individuals who want to modify their vehicles. There is never an actual need to visit these business, and by that reasoning, visiting these locations is mere luxury. What if hypothetically there was an actual requirement to visit these mechanic shops on a basis determined by how well you operate your vehicle? Imagine this: As you drive your vehicle, damage influences a "maintenance required" value. This "maintenance required" value can be a mere percentage that grows higher as you poorly operate the vehicle. That includes damaging the vehicle, and even over regular extended use (at a slower pace of course). Once you reach that 100% thresh point, your vehicle will begin to experience random faults that can only be repaired at a mechanic shop. You cannot speed up past 50km/hr, your vehicle turns left when you attempt to turn right, you drive forward but it pushes you in reverse. These occurrences can all be random, and happen at an increasing rate as the vehicle's maintenance requirement increases in value. This post is intended to be an open discussion. Share your thoughts and ideas on the matter. If you think this is a dogshit idea and I'm out to lunch feel free to say so, I am open to all criticism on the suggestion.

  6. Hi all, As most of you are aware, the Faction Team has been working hard on establishing the core illegal script systems along with guidelines and rules surrounding illegal roleplay. This blog post will provide an update on what the Faction Team has been working on, along with how the illegal roleplay scene will play out when we launch the server. Faction Tier System The Faction Team has re-developed the faction tier system and this will provide factions with specific perks and rewards as they move through the tiers towards official. A lot of brainstorming has gone into this system and is based off issues we encountered during the SA-MP server. Unofficial (eligible to apply for any scheme after 1 month of being open) Verified (attained after being open for 3 months and having a successful application) Official (determined after a minimum of 3 months whilst being Verified) Drug Scheme The Faction Team has decided on taking a completely new approach to the Drug System/Scheme and have suggested that instead of giving drugs directly to the players, we will provide them with both the utilities and ingredients needed to manufacture the drugs. Players can still receive drugs from Faction Team in cases that certain drugs aren't able to be manufactured currently. You may apply to join the Drug Scheme once you have been open for 1 month. Weapon Scheme Unofficial Factions will be able to apply to the Weapon Scheme after 1 month of being open - applicants will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed admittance into the scheme. The amount of weapons and ammo given is something exclusive to members of the scheme and is based on faction size and status (unofficial, verified or official). The 1 month period will begin from the day the server launches and having a faction thread for more than a month pre-launch doesn't make you eligible. Join a Scheme Pre-Launch In order to have an effective drug and weapon system in place from day 1 on the server. We're looking to introduce some members to these schemes pre-launch. This means you won't have to wait the original month (stated above) but you'll be required to have exceptional illegal roleplay experience and a good-standing history in the community to reserve yourself a spot. Requirements for the pre-launch scheme: Only factions will be able to apply. You must have a minimum of 10 faction members. Must be the leader of the faction that is applying. Must have experience in/around illegal factions. Must have a good standing in the community The Weapon & Drug Scheme will be open for applications from the time of this blog post (22nd January 2022).   9. I think everyone can agree there's more benefits to have them in the game as an option than without them. The customization of player models always seemed very limiting when you're trying to portray someone who's old or overweight, most of the time in one way or another the models look similar even with meshing. The modding community can hopefully spice things up in this field and could get some things added into the server to combat this.

GTA 5 literally opens up multiple doors for a more realistic and fun night life, on SAMP everyone was walking around in the same skin and up until a few years ago all of the interiors were standard ones, with the furniture update this already changed a lot to the night life RP of SAMP, let alone the options GTA V has to offer. Character customization , furniture system & the ability for cheap player owed radio stations to broadcast their own music & DJ. GTA V even offers the ability for a real cinema that can play actual movies in the game as I have seen on other communities, this would maybe open the doors for sports bars to actually play a football game / UFC you name it.

  15. I'll say it like this, FiveM, Alt:V, Rage:MP... it is what it is, people come from all over. With how big RP is on GTA 5, you have people from other RPG games not even GTA related, coming to GTA servers, some prefer text base and might come to LS-RP:V. We were all "newbies" at one point in time, and we all improved with help. Just because you're a good roleplayer, doesn't give you the right to act entitled and better than the next. That was an issue on SAMP too, the "elitism" mentality which I highly despise and irks me to this very day. Players should instead help one and other, because that's the only way we'll ever get anywhere.

  17. excuse my scepticism but what separates this from the old strawman system? is the weapon scheme going to end up like its old friend by becoming a lucrative group whos membership is afforded only to a select few, while the rest have to blow mafia recruits and fight for scraps? why do it on a strict case-by-case basis? you could just give admittance to groups that dont break rules and allow them to buy basic weapons instead of falling into the same old pattern of constant regulation its already been proven that factions cant be trusted to distribute weapons properly. what about grey characters that arent in illegal factions but still wanna engage in criminal rp? there's never going to be an incentive for somebody to sell them firearms when they can hand them out to their faction members n ooc friends instead if u dont see the issue with having 1 guy (the faction leader) applying to the scheme, and then giving him the guns with the expectation of proper distribution then idk what to say lol 7 years of samp went out of the window

  19. You hit the nail on the head buddy. You essentially intermingle the various demographics of rpers through scripted means. It would be a dope way to create roleplay, and viability to the jobs that you choose. I am also sure this can be applied to more than just the automotive related jobs though.

It might be nice in the near future ( don't think this kind of system will be implemented at launch ), something like a system that causes the main components of the vehicle to wear out over time. eg: Engine: < 100.000 kilometers = GOOD < 150.000 kilometers = NORMAL > 200.000 kilometers = BAD -> Vehicle performance decreases ( acceleration / max speed ) ACTIONS: Change engine Battery: < 1 month of life = GOOD < 2 months of life = NORMAL > 3 months of life = BAD -> Starting the vehicle requires several attempts ACTION: Change battery Turbine: < 150.000 kilometers = GOOD < 200.000 kilometers = NORMAL > 250.000 kilometers = BAD -> Vehicle performance decreases ( max speed ) ACTION: Change turbine Tires: < 10.000 kilometers = GOOD < 15.000 kilometers = NORMAL > 20.000 kilometers = BAD -> Vehicle handling deteriorates ACTIONS: Change tires
