I don't think you quite understand how long it takes to create features in RageMP. Server-side needs to be done, there's also a client-side for many features that have UI components beyond chat output. Then there's the matter of unit tests, and integration tests for features that call out to external RPC or REST services. The development team has shown promise in their ability to deliver features relatively quick, and I can tell you as an engineer that they deliver features much quicker than most companies do for professional apps. Cut everyone some slack, stop having such absurdly high standards. If you're unhappy with what you see right now, close your browser and come back in a few months to check in. If you're not willing to give it time to build momentum, I really don't know what to tell you. Be the change you want to see in the community.2 points

Another Sunday, another update. This one isn't exactly filled with features, but there are some pretty nice and noticeable changes for you to explore. I am also happy to report that we have ironed out the bugs found in our custom presets (such as /bareswitch removing the floor...) and are ready to push these custom interiors to our live server. And let me say - some of these are genuinely top quality work. I forgot I was in a custom mapped interior (yes, done with /furniture) in a few of the new interiors! In addition, every new interior has a /bareswitch alternative, so if you don't like the mapping but want the layout, you can fit your own mapping in! Thanks to our Mapping Team members that made this possible: @lavakeule @ryz0skii @PlayerX @Chester Campbell @.Scarecrow @Lindsie @Trewen @Hanky Anyway, here's the weather: - Added randomisation to fist damage (now does between 4 and 7 damage) to make fist fights last longer - Added /fontsize and font size to /settings - Added hotkey-based vehicle interaction - Added phone notification sounds - Added better sync for trunks, doors and bonnets - Added a phone notification when the short-term weather changes - Added the tapered reward amount to /mission for truckers - Fixed an issue with gun bans - Fixed an issue where /hire would check your own player-owned company slots, not the target player's - Fixed an issue where /bareswitch only worked in properties you do NOT have permission to manage There are some smaller fixes that were just one-liners, but I'm ashamed to say I didn't keep track of those ones! You can bring up the interaction key by holding ALT near a vehicle, or bring up the interaction menu with U Be aware, though. If you leave your windows rolled down, someone can reach in and unlock the car! Connection Issues As far as I've been able to see, our connection issues are largely resolved! There are one or two people I've seen that cannot connect no matter what, and it seems to me like this is potentially an issue with their specific ISP, rather than the server at this point. Never fear, though, as we can manually tweak our network settings per player now, meaning that anybody encountering these issues can be saved! Illegal Roleplay Features It's not really a massive secret that our updates recently have not been geared towards illegal roleplayers, and that the drug system is largely not very thrilling. I want to assure you that our priority now is generating cash as an illegal roleplayer. @matical has pumped out some great discussions (relating to a feature that has been asked for since SA-MP, something to do with houses) with the Faction Team, and @Mitcholodolo has been grinding out some great ideas to make the Darknet drugs trade more interesting for people that both do and don't have access to the system. I have also been gathering feedback about forensics (which will, of course, include gloves...) and how to tailor it to be fair for everyone involved in a crime. A third point Honestly, I forgot what this third point was. I should really plan this out better. I'll probably update this post and include this point in the next post when I remember... A third point I actually remembered this about 2 minutes before posting this update, so I thought I'd just edit it in now. I've left the original draft above for a glimpse in how I work when I write up drafts of these posts... Anyway, the third point. We will be beginning to evict players that have not spent at least 4 hours in the last 7 days on a character that owns a property in order to free up some space for other players. Premium members are exempt from this activity requirement. What this means is if you have 2 characters, and rent a house on both, you must play for 4 hours in 7 days' time on both characters to retain your house on both characters. If you play 30 hours a week on character 1, and 2 hours a week on character 2, character 2 will lose their house. Lastly, we've seen a return to our playerbase since the last update that introduced the connection fixes. Where we were hovering around 20 players, we're now back up to the mid-80s at the same time. I am excited for our rise once more now that desperate people that need us to fail have been stopped in their tracks! Here are some images of an exclusive event you probably didn't get invited to as you're not part of one of our great illegal factions! Thanks to @SCANDALOUZ for the mapping and planning of this event! Dancin_dancin.mp41 point

I don't hate it. I was pointing out why the player base declined and why LSRP has become the foster child, with suggestions on what to improve on regarding community engagement. LSRP launching in V got me excited to roleplay again after years of inactivity but seeing nothing has changed it's disappointing. It is what it is.1 point

I'm glad accepting mediocrity has made you a happier person but why brag about achieving the dreams you had when you were 12 if you're still as immature? What would've happened if you didn't settle with the first chick who didn't reject you? I'd rather play on a server that's worth my time and not play if there ain't none but that's just me. You do you.1 point

I think everyone's got a point here. Here's my take: 1. Yes we should try to encourage RP hubs so that there's at least one or two reliable 'casual RP' places which aren't so reliant on business openings. 2. One way of doing this, as suggested, is to move some businesses closer together and perhaps remove some of the other ones. This is something Dos Santos and I have talked about before and the odds are we'll end up doing it. 3. In addition to the above, we had the idea of trying to actively manage some of the businesses; having clerks in 24/7s and gas stations and so on. This would be reliant on some sort of shift/job feature which, is on the to do list. 4. Support factions as much as we can and provide them with whatever they need to make an area appealing to their type of roleplay - such as allowing outdoor furniture items. This approach can also be combined with the above, if the factions are happy having other businesses near their hub. Having it all happen 'naturally' and without intervention is the ideal, but I think a jumpstart is needed, even if it's not one that's sustained or managed for very long just to see what happens. A key consideration would be whether any of the hubs be considered 'safe zones' or what-not. I'd argue not in the beginning, let chaos reign.1 point

The idea of having a spot where new players can begin their journey in LS:RP is quite good. We probably need a location close to the spawn that most new players choose.1 point

been preaching this since the server came out glad its finally getting recognition as an issue you should also consider removing a lot of the script stores from the game and have them only exist at this hub, or if not that just create some new ones an apartment building, a clothing store, a tattoo store and a 24/7 all in one place would help generate a lot of foot traffic mirror park seems the best because its pretty contained. its essentially a town inside LS and that gives it a lot of appeal. the only issue i see here is that its a pain to get to and generally not a place people naturally pass by (which can be solved with what i said above)1 point

Lol this response here is quite revealing. You seem to be consistently addressing a roleplay community every week with an essay about the same topic. It makes me wonder why you believe the server should revolve around your preferences exclusively. It appears you think your way of roleplaying is the only valid one. It's worth noting that gang "ROLEPLAYERS" have always played a significant role in the success of LSRP. While you've expressed concerns about issues unrelated to your own character, such as being an illegal racer or whatever your role may be, it's important to consider the purpose of these frequent posts. You're correct in pointing out the unrealistic shootouts and similar problems, but some of your complaints may seem unnecessary. This entire post might lack a clear argument. You were the one bringing up these concerns, and it seems like nobody else shared them. What specific changes are you hoping to achieve through this post?1 point

Honestly, you complained a lot, especially for two whole weeks, about various things, like weapon rules and illegal role-playing. This constant complaining was a major factor in why many people left. It felt like you wrote a whole book with all your complaints. Which eventually got things changed all those things you put up there you was the one mainly doing that nobody else. How many times will you create similar discussion threads about the same issues? This is your seventh general discussion thread, and it often revolves around the same complaints. It appears that you're trying to push the idea that it's other players making these complaints when, in reality, it might be you. From what I've observed, most complaints about LSRP focus on the job script, while other concerns seem less relevant. Some people choose not to play here solely because of this issue. LSRP is generally a great server to play on, but it has some shortcomings that will likely be fixed over time. However, your repeated posts won't contribute to solving these issues and might even make them worse. Personally, I haven't complained about the job script because I've easily made over $300,000, but I've rarely heard anyone else complain about things like home interiors or more roleplay schemes, aside from solo roleplayers.1 point

To be honest, one the reasons for this this is GTA-V Los Santos not having a venue like Idlewood Stack, for example. I know that mall/stack rats were highly disregarded from time to time. But as a solo-player for years, those were my prime venues to find people to RP with. Shopping Mall if you're looking for a more civil-type talk and Idlewood Pizza Stack if you're looking to see a much diverse variety of characters, having illegal backgrounds or not. In casual GTA-V VOIP RP servers, that place would be the motel at the northwest Downtown. It's a pretty small venue and mostly benefited from being the spawn point, leading to sub-par roleplay from time to time but hey, still it was a place to meet new people. In LSRP-V, borders of criminality around Davis/Jamestown/Rancho is just too expanded. I cannot even stand in an alley without being jumped on by 3-4 muggers. Tell me that it is the reflection of reality maybe but still, it forces me to act out casual roleplay indoors rather than a open-area venue to populate. Everything is just too settled to move to Paleto Bay or any other alternative at this point. Only thing I can suggest to the dev/mapping team would be to create an interesting, middle-of-the-city hanging out venue. I don't know, maybe making the Davis Mall a walk-in enterable venue rather than /enter. The other side of the cure might lay in private business owners. Having an overabundance of businesses to chit-chat with bartender and order a whiskey is just lacking variety a little bit in my opinion. I highly respect bar/restaurant owners with trying to spice up things with funny/exciting advertisement or hosting events within the premises of the business. But again, we're in different times where people don't appreciate a RP where you just sit down with a friend, order a drink and exchange conversation. People rather want to get in cop chases, shoot around or jack cars. TL;DR we would need an exciting open-area venue to be mapped out or incentivize business owners to create variety in their openings, piquing interest for people to come over.1 point

How can anyone be surprised? Unless the server gets major publicity it wont get anywhere as far as player base is concerned. Myself and many others had plans to bring in their old SAMP buddies back to LSRP but what are we even bringing them to? Also why are there still cunts out trying to charge 8k for a deagle? or whatever it's supposed to be, I only got gta 5 for this server. Pack everything up and move it to Sandy shores is clearly the best course of action, also less police.1 point
