    October Staff Update

Congratulations everyone, especially @bobster well deserved mate
  2. I agree with what you're saying; there are no real consequences. We've observed criminals escaping prison time easy. Even when they're severely injured, all they need to do is type "/me reaches for the gun," and they'll be executed by the PD/SD. We're all familiar with the reasons behind this. Let me highlight a few scenarios from SAMP LS:RP that I believe were implemented during shootouts: If a player with a PF license is shot during a confrontation with PD/SD, their license will be revoked. To be frank, I don't know how it works today, but I believe there are no real consequences. Players couldn't use the /respawnme command until the PD/SD gave the green light. This allowed for roleplaying around the deceased character(s). In certain situations, the PD/SD might instruct their players involved in the shootout to survive, if the gunshot wounds weren't fatal. An administrator could enforce this if necessary. Consequently, these players would face in-character consequences, such as imprisonment. However, we currently need to hold back on implementing in-character consequences until the player base increases. At the moment, introducing these sanctions wouldn't be logical. Prisons needs to be picked up as the first thing.
  3. The idea of having a spot where new players can begin their journey in LS:RP is quite good. We probably need a location close to the spawn that most new players choose.
  4. Swimming in updates, keep them coming. Good job devs.
  5. Rastaman salutes you! Thanks brother.
  6. Thank you my friend šŸ™‚
  7. Appreciate the love. Thanks!

    We need to talk ...

It would be nice to receive a response from @Mmartin regarding the various perspectives shared by the community.
  9. I understand where you're coming from, filled with good memories; nostalgia. We'll never find the same roleplay vibe anywhere else. I'm very familiar with the golden days of LS:RP, but those times will never return, which is why reviving the SAMP server would not help at all.

    We need to talk ...

It's great that you're transparent and completely honest in your post, but to be frank with you, we've seen these kinds of posts from you too many times. As you yourself mentioned, which I believe is the biggest failure of LS:RP: "I believe that motivation and strength come from the top down, and we, as the leadership, must do better to innovate, push forward, show face, and communicate everything with the community." With that said, I think you should start asking yourself if you have the capacity and discipline to run this community. The owner must be able to dedicate 110% of their time to the community. That's the challenging part of owning a roleplay community like this; otherwise, it'll just die out. To be blatantly transparent with you: everything starts with you. We've heard these promises from you too many times, and I'm skeptical that you'll do anything different this time. You reappear after a period of inactivity, make an update like this, push a few updates (maybe), and then vanish again for a long time, causing everything to fall apart. You need to step up and be consistently active. I hope I'm wrong this time, and you'll prove us all wrong. Kudos to @ImperiumXVII
  11. This. I have always said that LSRP's biggest threat is not other communities, but its own management. A community needs active management that consistently makes an effort to keep the server running, whether it's development or something else. We need weekly updates. @ImperiumXVII is diligently working to roll out updates, but we want more than just minor updates. Don't misunderstand me; we deeply appreciate every bit of effort, but we also yearn for more significant updates. Expanding the staff, adjusting the development team, rules regulations, modifying gun prices, or introducing new updates won't make a difference if the core management remains inactive. This is simply the truth. A faction could be situated in the best location, having a decent amount of members, but if the leader isn't active or doesn't display genuine concern for the faction, it will gradually diminish. Many of us remain loyal to this community and want it to thrive. All we ask in return is for some attention from those in higher positions. If they cannot provide this, then perhaps they should pass the ball to someone who genuinely cares about the community and has the capability to lead it effectively. If you rarely log onto the forum, then I'm unsure how it's going to remain active.
  12. Thanks for the reply! Indeed, but impounding is not the same as having your vehicle confiscate completely. There will be no chance of getting the vehicle back. It belongs to the state who may sell it at auction. As I stated above, I believe that the confiscation of a vehicle should only happen if the owner has accumulated a significant number of warnings. I think losing a vehicle will be a hard lesson, and next time they purchase a vehicle, they will likely be more cautious. Of course, impouding should be the first solutions, but if the owner continues to drive recklessly despite of having the vehicle impounded, the last resort should be to confiscate it. This applies for every civilian of Los Santos
  13. I've been roleplaying on the server for about two weeks now, nearly every day. Honestly, I'm quite shocked by the quality of the roleplay I'm experiencing from most of the players. This is not the LS:RP I remember, and I suspect that many of these players don't really care about the server. One instance that surprised me involved a shootout between us (PD) and other players, which resulted in the shooters entering the "injured" mode, or whatever it may be called. In order to avoid being incarcerated, the injured shooters would just use /me commands like "reaches for gun" or "aims gun at officers", prompting some of the officers at the scene to fatally shoot the suspects. In my opinion, this is a problem, as it allows them to avoid prison time, which is ridiculous. Then they simply respawn, acquire a new gun, and repeat the same actions with no real consequences other than losing some money and a weapon. Serious consequences should follow such criminal activities. I understand that if you're dead, you're dead. However, I have yet to see a single suspect who was injured in a shootout with the PD end up in prison. Let's not even mention the driving... It's entirely out of control. There needs to be stricter penalties for poor driving. A simple ticket or warning isn't sufficient. If their driving is completely reckless or they've accumulated too many warnings, we (PD) should be authorized to seize their vehicle, meaning they will never be able to retrieve it. This is a proposal I intend to make. We need harsher penalties to demonstrate to players that this sort of in-character behavior will have consequences. Unfortunately, the amount of out-of-character chat, poor roleplay quality, and trolling is exceedingly high on the server currently. This is not the LS:RP I'm familiar with. I hope that immediate action will be taken to address this issue. It's reaching a point where roleplaying isn't even enjoyable anymore. I couldn't agree more. That's exactly what I've experienced. Stricter in-character sanctions are needed. For instance, if a player drives recklessly or has accumulates a significant number of warnings or tickets, their vehicle should be confiscated. Prison sentences should increase if a player commits numerous felonies within a short period of time. Furthermore, a larger sum of money should be lost whenever a player dies. Would be nice if we could have some input from the management about the current situation. We all want the best in the end. @Mmartin @Ben @Kane EDIT: Iā€™d like to tag @Fiendfyre for her opinion about the confiscation
  14. I understand where you're coming from, but no matter how much we yearn for the 'golden days', those time are in the past. The older generation had a great time with SAMP, but the newer generation or new players would probably never play with SAMP graphics. The server is new and still undergoing heavy development. We should give it some time to grow.
