  1. I'm happy to say what I think needs to change to see an improvement in the player base. 1. Removal of "Education over Punishment" Right now there is an expectation that admins educate over punishing. Meaning a player can DM someone 2/3 times before we enter the space of actually being able to issue a light punishment. When I returned to the staff team and saw this, I was shocked! This is why we lost the standards and went from a "Heavy roleplay Server" and entered the realms of being more like a Cops & robbers server which is probably the best way to describe the current state of the community. I have standards, and luckily I have a set of rules which I used to govern. - I don't follow this rule, I never have and quite frankly I never will. I am all up for helping someone understand where they have gone wrong and explain to first time offenders, but if I think (On the balance of probabilities) deliberately broken a rule, you're being punished for it. I owe this standard to the rest of the community that uphold the rules, play fair and want to get on with their roleplay. I know what its like to be roleplaying with your mates, and to have a dumb ass come up to you trying to provoke you to desperately try provoke a reaction to justify pulling a gun and engaging in a shootout. It ruins everything and creates the very situation we're in. (Barely any street level gang roleplay.) 2. Removal of Inactive and Idle Administrators & Testers We have a large amount of inactive and completely Idle Administrators and Testers that are retaining their positions for absolutely no reason. I am all for people having breaks and having real life priorities however a large percentage have been on absence for months on end. And for the Admins I will break that down for you guys to understand in a more granular detail. We have too many Admins in key positions who are Idle holding their areas hostage over the title but don't want to actively work for it. Lead Admins: 7 Of the 7 admins, only 2 (28% activity) have been active in-game. (I acknowledge there's stuff behind the scenes, but your core function is to Lead Administrators, and you can't do that unless you're in-game.) Senior Admins: 11 Of the 11 admins, only 4 (36% activity) have been active in-game. Some haven't logged on in months at all. (One hasn't logged on the forums since October!) Game Admins: 16 Of the 16 admins, only 5 (31% activity) have been active in-game. (To be considered "Active" you must have a minimum of 30 hours spent IG per month. For context, some admins peak at 180 hours a month.) So when you look at the above figures for admins you have 11 active admins providing the community with 24 hours coverage 7 days a week. What this creates is admins becoming burnt out because they're carrying more work loads, people becoming unmotivated as a result of a lack of support, and this results in the figures dropping even more. I dread to think the state of the activity leading up to the new year. These 11 active admins are the same ones processing your player reports, refund requests, house changes, ban appeals and just about everything else on the forums! We're too afraid to loose inactive admins because "What does that fix?" it shows there's a consequence for not being active and pulling your weight, it allows space for development for those who are active to develop further into the admin team. It encourages growth and development for everyone. (Chain effect all the way down which in turn allows us to give a better service to our customers who are our community. 3. Faction Management I will be honest with this point, I do not see Illegal Faction Management as a functional service as it stands. It is not representative of the community, and rather a small circle that operates around it. You have so many voices in the illegal factions world that are experienced, giving the IFM the very solutions to the problems we're facing and instead of gripping onto those solutions and running with them to implement nothing is being done. Or we're shutting them down on the spot. There are Official Factions that went inactive after a week of getting it, remove them and make space the the numerous other factions that are absolute gems within the community. This needs to be done because once the illegal factions give up in their pursuit you'll have PD pursuing SD until one of the two decide to give up. Urgent and drastic leadership changes are needed in order to preserve the future of the illegal scene. I personally have been so put off from continuing my illegal roleplay knowing it will never lead anywhere. 4. Legal Faction Management One of the most catastrophic mistakes was the decision to move LFM from a full time person and move it under operations with no oversight from an experienced LEO role-player. Why a LEO role-player? The two biggest legal factions are PD and SD, and a great deal surrounds the two. Instead the role was merged across the responsibility of two people, one being the head of Illegal Factions - a clear conflict of interest. There is a huge issue with activity around the leadership of many of these legal factions and I have seen in the recent days a series of poor decisions being made about leadership changes. Faction Leaders need to be active in order to drive the faction, maintain and uphold standards and again provide the player base with a level of service! - Some days the server has 100+ players with 1 or 2 LEO's on, where is the realism in that? You then speak to the factions, and the response is, If faction management can't be asked why should I? Then you get nothing short of civil war on the server. Legal and Illegal factions are the most important entities on this server, and we're getting it so incredibly wrong. In both PD and SD we have absolutely exceptional leaders who aren't being given opportunities to lead simply because they're vocal and active and threaten the inactive leadership by outshining them, so instead of promoting them to run and help out, we're seeing them be supressed and ostracised to keep them at bay in order to safeguard certain individuals positions. Legal Faction Management needs to be owned by a Lead Admin that has experience in either PD or SD as a leader that can give them the full time attention they need, this doesn't mean dictating, this means obtaining feed back from the faction members, giving and equipping them to succeed. Right now we're seeing the polar opposite. 5. Pandering to the toxic few. There's a certain few individuals who keep popping up within these chats (Ban Evading) may I add who offer nothing of any value at all, and we're allowing their opinions and voices to plague and curtain the true issues we need to be addressing on this community. Some of these who I won't bother naming have been banned for a while for gross breaches of rules in-game and on the forums. Stop pandering to them and ignore their moot opinions. Finally my message to the community, a shit ton of effort goes into this community by Martin and Michael (prior to his departure) and I stand firmly beside Martin with this. He often is called lazy and that he doesn't care or he's not invested and simply wants money out of this etc etc...I've heard it all. I will defend him till kingdom come. I know how much he invests and how much he injects into this community to keep it running and he is let down by some of his staff, but also a community have a significant part to play here as well. Stop the toxicity, accept it will never be like 2015 or whatever era exists as being the golden age for LSRP for you, we're in 2024 going on 2025 and we're pushing through during different and challenging times around the world. For many this is a get-away from reality. Acknowledge the effort going into the community, appreciate the little things and be constructive and productive about the future of the community. Remember, pressing the red button and switching the community off once more is an easy option - we need to keep fingers away from that and start collectively driving this forward. If anyone has been offended (Staff or otherwise) by anything I have said, tough luck if the shoe fits lace that bitch up and own it. I own my flaws, and I will work on them but I will never give up on this community. Eren.

  2. Eren has been an absolute staple in this community, if only you saw what this guy does behind the scenes, I see this guy as a leader more than anyone and his opinion deserves your time, certain changes need to happen and soon. I've halted any custom object work until I know we've got a reliable developer in place, I'm itching to continue but I'm not wasting my time.

  3. Thread creator here, I never knew that my simple innocent and casual post, due to my own reminiscing of what LSRP used to feel like back when I started in 2016, would start a discussion that will actually squeeze out what the problems of this server are, especially with the management of it. Became a full-fledged open forum lol Just wanted to say @Eren has spitted some facts that needed to be heard.

  4. Was asked to put my 2 cents in, so here goes. If you know me, you’ll know that my dedication to LSRP since relaunch (and for the last 14 years really) has been pretty strong. This changed in August this year. I was consistently doing the most in game reports, the most refund requests, the most insert menial task here, etcetera, all while leading a sub team and doing general admin shit on the side. My demotivation and burnout slowly started to set in because of a few things, I’m not going to name any names but if you know, you know. I don’t want this to be a bashing post, just a post from the heart. Bear in mind I’ve not touched LSRP really since August at this point. I’m going to say a majority of the admin team done absolutely fuck all to support others who actually cared about the community, whether this be in game reports or whatever. There was lead admins in game who would make a mockery of player reports in /a instead of actually dealing with them whilst I’m trying to deal with 2 reports and a refund at the same time, just to try and restore some faith in the team that were not lazy bastards and reports do get handled. My report statistics confirm this. I slowly got sick of this. Actually no, I quickly got sick of it. The knock on effect there is that why should I be bursting my balls while these guys sit in the same or higher positions than me whilst not giving a singular fuck, or abusing their positions to win RP situations and break rules and hack (I’m looking at you Xanakin, happy to name him as this is historic at this point) I then decided ok I’ll try help out in other ways. I joined the dev team and began writing and modifying scripts, ONLY based off of player suggestions. In my mind, doing what the players WANT was the right thing to do (within reason). The first “big feature” I worked on was company system enhancements, primarily company chat. I had most of the scripting done to then be let down like a Japanese pilot in the 40’s. I was simply told “nah FTC said no” this booked my piss and I argued and argued for it until they were basically told it’s happening whether you like it or not. This of course put a sour taste in my mouth too. The final straw for me which started my extensive absence was a result of a staff report, made against me by a lead admin at the time who didn’t like me because I publicly shamed him for his laziness every chance I could get. I got on one night after a few drinks and dealt with an admin sit (because would you look at that, the reporter didn’t bother to accept the report). Resolved the report pretty simply, all was good. The player who was reported was logging off and messing around so I chugged his ass into the dirt, revived him, refunded his weapon and that was that. No harm done, just a bit of fun! I find out the next day that I was going to be removed from the staff team for this ONE incident, despite me being the most active contributor (statistically) to the community at the time. This really set me off and I don’t think I’ve logged in to this day. I’ve really been trying to regain my spark for it but whenever I open up the SAMP client I take a totally legally acquired Xanax because I just can’t face it right now. The players for the most part are cool as fuck and you know who you are, but some of you are absolutely insufferable and I think you need a reality check. as those who have resigned have said, nothing is ever good enough. We could script the cure for cancer and someone would complain “but what about cerebral palsy?!” just my two cents, or dollars. Rambled on a bit here but here’s where I’m at right now. This isn’t a resignation, but just an explanation for my absence. I do love this place, but shit has to change and I’m not just talking about staff/management. I really do want this place to succeed man. Get a grip, everyone.

  5. Hey guys! I am no longer an active part of this community due to the egregious nature that the staff team, more specifically the faction management aspect of it, has been run. I will not be pasting 4 paragraphs like everyone else simply because I am tired of putting mass amounts of effort into a dying community. But I'll gladly hit you with some shorthand information that will help you line up the issues here. People have failed you. A lot of people have failed you. You're constantly being failed by your inactive lead admin and senior administrative team. Unlike the rest of you with skin in the game, I have none. For that reason, I think it's best we do some name-and-shame. Unfortunately, @izumihas failed you several times. If you've been active in this community, you may have seen this post But the response given by Izumi was "This isn't a rule for regular players to suggest. This is an admin rule." - That was in September. 3 months later and we're having the same issues. Last time I checked @izumi @Mmartin @badhbh(never even seen you) - without your community, your admin team is worth fuck-all. Your 'regular players' feed you, provide something for you to do, and pay to keep this server running. Kindly fuck off with the 'not for regular players to suggest' cause that's a load of horse shit. Your entire purpose is to serve the regular players of this community. You failed to serve the community, so you're losing it. On the other hand of where Izumi has failed you, the players, has been in their ludicrous mismanagement as Head of Legal Factions. A few months ago, several key leaders of LSSD left within a short period of time due to extreme leadership concerns and issues. People that had been around for years and had put time and effort into this. A massive faction report was filed against the LSSD for mismanagement. I have put my response to the faction report in this pastebin link here. Unfortunately, Izumi is known to be very friendly with Iudex and co, as can be exampled by how we were asked, and I quote "Were you involved in organising mass resignations or rebellions against LSSD faction leaders?" THE SAME FACTION LEADER IZUMI WORKED TO PROTECT, HE WAS FORCED TO BAN FOR CHEATING. IN RESPONSE, THEY PROMOTED ANOTHER CONTROVERSIAL FIGURE INTO THE SHERIFF POSITION, WHO DOESN'T EVEN HAVE INTERNET LOL The admin team failed Michael and now he's back to being Grey-Name Imperium. The admin team constantly fails the playerbase and now it's dying. DYING. 17 players when I get home is crazy, when it used to be 250. The lead admin team has been constantly failing MMartin and the administrative team. Inaction from Martin's side speaks volumes as well. Here is another example where you're BEING IGNORED AND BEING FAILED AS A MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY. Horrific mismanagement and inexperienced, privileged, entitled people running things is what's killing this community. But what do I know. I've only been around since 2012 and have been in SD leadership for a majority of that time. Let's rattle a list of people who I genuinely have never seen in-game or on the forums: @badhbh @bobster @Dos Santos @jungsaeo The five of you are in positions of great power. Where are you in this? Look at Eren's post and look at your activity, are you inadvertently staring into a mirror? With the powers and positions you are in, if you aren't working to fix the problem, you ARE part of the problem. Quite frankly, I applaud you guys for dishing out so much effort into trying to fix this place, but it's past repairable. The wrong people were put into the wrong positions under false pretenses and they fucking blew it. They waffled. They failed. They failed YOU. They failed MARTIN. I applaud, genuinely, the efforts of Martin because I know how much he loves this place. Years ago we used to play CSGO and it was evident THEN that he had an immense amount of love for this place. It's a shame that those he trusted should have never been there in the first place.

  6. With all what's being said and suggested here, we can't bring back peak numbers again but we can maintain a tight knit active community if we can do a little bit of self reflection, both staff and regular players. Change starts from within, as long as Management takes the right steps to filter out inactives and bad apples off the team and the community shows a little bit of appreciation towards people that do their best to make a difference, we can maintain a decent PB. QOL scripts are nice to have but it's SAMP RP we quite literally only need /me and /do to portray anything. Transparency and open AND civil communication (Hey ban evaders) between the community and the staff team will be key to push the server forward in the coming days. It's always easy to blame someone else for everything that's going on, but I'd start with looking at the man in the mirror. Everything Eren pointed out is exactly what needs to happen.

  7. So after reading through all of this, there are some very very good points in this that I can relate too. Education > Punishment I believed turned into this stigma of "you can't punish them, you need to teach them", I think it just domino rolled into this when really that's not the point at all, at least that's not what Nature wanted (from the short periods that I've spoken to him about the rule). But I do believe in removing the stigma for admins and not being able to punish players for malicious wrongdoings. The admin team, I could rant for hours on this. It's crazy the amount of admins we have as a team and the amount actually hit monthly quotas or actually want to be involved. But, that should be changing with Mmartin's recent announcement in the staff section, I believe this is a step in the right direction. What I will say is you need to reward your loyal and active members, I'm not talking about myself, but you have admins that are eligible for certain positions clocking insane hours and insane forum quotas but are still being left in the dark and hopped over by people that are doing far less than. Revisiting eligibility requirements and rewarding hard working individuals should be mandatory. Keep your active people active, don't pray giving an inactive player a role will make them active. I'm not really involved with IFC so I won't comment on what and how much they do, but with LFM. I'm going to say it's because it was a cursed position and we went through a new LFM handler every second week. But we really do need to find someone that has the knowledge, experience and expertise outside of their role workload. Izumi has a hell of a lot of shit to handle with being AHoO and having to oversight the entire legal team just adds extra workload unnecessarily and then it doesn't let the legal factions have the amount of support etc that they need during these times. My perfect example of this and it's going to sound petty would be the appointed of Kayayday as Sheriff. While I have no specific problem with Kayayday and how well they COULD do as Sheriff, you had plenty of other candidates who were ready and willing to take over the role, hell I have an entire word document and discord server with changes that would be implemented, rank structures, promotions, revision to BSSS and FTP to ensure a steady flow of deputies and so much more. None of this was taken into consideration and how I put it to Izumi, the decision seemed like it was a shoot from the hip and whoever it hits, gets it. There was no "What can this person do? What are they going to bring to the faction?". I know I'm ranting here but I know you have capable people like Storm, Eren, Cano all that have put in the hard yards for LSSD and have come up short for months and months on end with very little being done about it. A capable and 100% committed LFM "Handler" would be able to watch and look at these things and be able to be there in real time, as that would be their sole role, is to ensure the smooth sailing of legal factions. The community seemed to of turned this into a "4fun" community and server as I like to put it, the level of trolling has increased, the level of unnecessary deathmatching and pointless robbery crews is absurd. I'm personally not too sure how to fix it however.

  8. Ive mentioned some of points Eren touched on. I even made a thread a few months ago talking about how lenient the admin team has been with player reports and how that leaves room for rule-breakers to go around doing their thing without fear of punishments. On the faction management side of things we have been doing our best to be as strict as possible with breaches of ROE and general faction reports but I still get the feel that doesn't happen in the player report section. A lot can change within a server/community but if we lower the standards it is not LSRP anymore, it becomes something else. Another great point that Eren touched on that needs to improve is the activity concerns. I’ll give you my example, being a team leader. I have recently been appointed to IFC and im doing my best behind the scenes to make the faction team functional once again. One step at a time. I feel its in a good place to move forward but what annoys me the most is relaying on inactive admins/leads to be able to do my job. For the regular player this might look like IFC is inactive and not doing its job, when most of the times we are just waiting to hear back from lead admins or people with the right type of perms. I'm not saying I don't agree or understand the systems in place behind the scenes because they make sense but once people in certain positions become inactive, it hinders everyone else’s job. So the way I see it, those people need to be replaced or the current active team needs to be given the right perms to do their job. I am sure this happens throughout the different teams as well. Despite everything, I do believe MMartin is absolutely right and the main change that needs to happen is the general mindset. Scriptwise, the game has never been in a better place and instead of complaining on the forums or Discord, people need to get IG and enjoy roleplay. Or is it not why we are all here? From my experience only people that actively roleplay and enjoy the game will have the right motivation to help behind the scenes.

  9. SpeedHunters is an organized Racing league that is based on JDM culture with the purpose of illegal street racing in San Andreas. We would be a group of people who come together with a shared interest in illegal or underground street racing. A group of drivers and mechanics who participate in high-speed races on public roads, often at night, in an informal, unsanctioned, and illegal manner. Our crew can also include individuals who help with organizing, providing information, or even acting as "lookouts" to avoid detection by law enforcement. They would focus especially on illegal street racing, from drifting, drag racing, touge racing, and downhill racing to hosting car meets where people come together to show their tuned cars, sharing the same passion for automobiles and socializing. SpeedHunters showcases not just the racing aspect but the culture surrounding it, including the building of cars, the design, and the lifestyle. Racing is seen as a central expression of this culture, where innovation, craftsmanship, and personal style come together. The crew was founded to bring back the illegal street racing scene onto the streets of Los Santos. Either way, for respect, money, or just the thrill—aligns with the broader real-world racing scene that SpeedHunters covers showcasing both the competitive and recreational sides of car culture and the excitement of racing, whether it's on the streets or on the track. The city of Los Santos was a melting pot of cultures. As Japanese car manufacturers like Nissan, Toyota, and Honda began importing their performance-oriented cars to the U.S., car enthusiasts started noticing the potential these relatively affordable, lightweight imports had for performance tuning and modification. As word spread, the crew SpeedHunters with the help of local garages and import shops started popping up, offering everything from NOS tanks to turbo kits, custom body kits, and exotic rims. These Japanese cars—often compact, nimble, and highly customizable—were soon modified and raced through the streets of Los Santos in ways that hadn't been seen before. They became a symbol of rebellion and innovation for a new generation. Leadership of SpeedHunters: Takumi Takashi: born and raised in Japan, grew up surrounded by the hum of engines. As a kid, he didn't hear the chirp of birds or the rustle of trees; instead, the symphony of idling motors, shifting gears, and screeching tires was his lullaby. Known for his obsession with speed and unbelievable driving skills, he quickly became respected in the street racing scene. Making his way up in the racing scene, Takumi always thought about creating his own racing crew, where respect and sportsmanship could exist. Gustavo Lopiz: Gustavo had always been drawn to cars. From the time he could remember, the sight of a polished engine or the sound of a revving exhaust filled him with an inexplicable sense of peace. His mind and experience in street racing across San Andreas gave him the insight needed for organizing races and challenges in the racing scene. Gustavo saw the potential for a respected racing crew. Storm Miles: Storm was drawn to anything with wheels. His parents often found him sitting in the driveway, mesmerized by the cars passing by or playing with toy cars, mimicking the sounds of roaring engines.By the time he was a teenager, Storm had earned a reputation as one of the fastest drivers in his neighborhood. Under the cover of night, he and his friends would gather on empty streets, their engines revving as they prepared to race. It was dangerous, illegal even, but for Storm, the rush of adrenaline was worth the risk.

  10. Another LSRP old head here! LSRP used to be a vibrant and well-structured community, but the decrease in the player base is not solely a staff issue—it's a community issue. The downfall began with administrative abuses of power and the prevalence of inactive individuals in high-ranking positions. Over time, the community has become inherently toxic, and I have personally witnessed bullying within the legal role-playing side. Departing from the illegal role-playing scene back in 2020 with 99 GMC, I remember when LSRP was a dream, with people abiding by the rules and regulations that prevented serial psychomaniac killers from wreaking havoc and causing unnecessary OOC (out-of-character) drama. Currently, the admin team has evolved into a group of people-pleasers who a very small view attempt restore the trust within the community that the admin team is still trustworthy but their attempts have been in vain. Many of the admin team are inactive. This pattern extends to certain legal factions where individuals in high-ranking roles contribute little but still hold significant power. This leaves the dedicated members who are doing the real work unrecognized and often suppressed by these inactive individuals, leading to widespread frustration and anger within the community. Additionally, I have observed faction management teams comprised of members who lack a fundamental understanding of how things should operate. Although I abstain from commenting on IFM (Illegal Faction Management) due to my departure from the illegal RP scene, my experience in the legal RP scene, including involvement in tactical team elements like SEB and SWAT, has revealed internal issues stemming from poor management and inadequate administrative oversight. This neglect has allowed toxicity to flourish unchecked. The community needs a reality check. Rules and standards must be tightened to restore a thriving environment. Once achieved, we can focus on marketing and showcasing the server again. This is not an attack on anyone but a necessary call to action. We must eliminate toxicity and empower active members while addressing the inactivity of those who fail to fulfill their roles without valid reasons. It's time to enforce stricter guidelines to revive the community.

  11. People are acting as if LFM being completely uncapable of running the legal faction scene and repeatedly betting on horses that have proven unsuitable for racing is an unprecedented event that only happened with the Iudex fiasco, but unless you're new or you've slept throughout LS-RP's history, you'd know that's always been the case. From the perspective of a regular player who's been around long enough to remember when the LSPD was based off the Met rather than the LAPD, LFM has never amounted to much else other than a bunch of holdouts who looked after their own and sought to maintain the status quo at all costs, with the occasional revolution only done for the sake of replacing the figures of the old regime with new ones, but without tearing down the regime mechanisms themselves. Collins used to bend over backwards to cover for Foran's autocratic management style of the LSPD and his attempts to torpedo any law enforcement faction that wasn't his own. Pitchounette, may God rest her soul, was resistant to any suggestion that could upset the balance of the server, not matter how small or inconsequential. ObZen's most notable achievement as head of LFM was destroying overnight a political roleplay scene that had taken years to be built only to appease a specific faction. Surreal and his circus completely killed any semblance of creativity in favor of mere imitation that produces nothing but dozens of characters that all look and act the same while dismantling critical systems such as the faction takedown scheme under the guise of "fairness". In the case of others who aren't specifically mentioned their tenure as Head of Legal Factions was so purposeless they're not even worth the time of being listed. The only LFM admin who seemed to have understood why LFM ever existed in the first place was Ethanol, under whom you could at least discuss topics that previously (and subsequently) were considered pipe dreams at best and nuisances at worst. Note that you could only discuss them, not actually see them implemented. But the point is that there never truly was a group of LFM admins who sought to create roleplay for others, and instead most of their time was spent on coming up with inventive solutions on how to limit it. LFM has always been the epitome of "let me know what you want, and I'll tell you why it can't be". LFM has always refused to innovate and shake things up since at least 2013, with each iteration relying on archaic rulings inherited from their predecessors like they're the Tablets of Stone while adding a slew of bad pronouncements of their own. Look no further than the ridiculous notion that the governor must be portrayed by the head of LFM, most of whom either didn't care or didn't know how to portray the role effectively, with the only notable exceptions being Pitch and Flemwad. Or ask yourself why it took SADOC ten years to get actual law enforcement powers for its special agents. Or wonder why during the sunset of LS-RP, both before the closing and after the reopening, it's always been the same people holding high-ranking positions within law enforcement factions. Or question why LFM spent time organizing pointless political agencies for a playerbase that doesn't even exist instead of engineering solutions towards improving the factions that are the main playerbase magnet. Where's the big news in LFM being chummy with and appointing a rulebreaker to leader of one of the server's most prominent factions?

  12. To the point and all backed up with evidence, open your eyes and wake up man people still pour time and effort into the server for nothing to be replicated by the people put in power, just a massive waste and a disrespect to the old great LSRP we used to be apart of.

  13. Been a long time member of the server since 2013. The one thing that sticks out the most is the lenient punishment or zero punishment compared to when the server was at it's peak. I remember being scared to break rules because it could turn into a month ban if you stepped out of line and Ajails were handed out quickly if you were being an idiot, in return it forced people to abide by the rules if they wanted to experience the best RP server there is. It's been said numerous times in this thread and on top of that, the attitude from some of the staff. I'm not in any staff teams so I dont have first hand experience but I've definitely heard how bad it can be to get things done due to someone being inactive or refusing to give permissions to do certain things. The staff team should be filled with people that want to build the server and player base at the core. There needs to be change and one of the big changes it seems would be to appoint new staff and give them the powers that they require to make changes on the spot instead of waiting weeks to hear back from someone for them to say "[insert name] says no". There shouldn't be this much bureaucracy for something so simple and admin jails should be handed out far more often than they are. It's a deterrent in the end. You used to see people being a-jailed constantly back in the day. I cant remember the last time I actually seen an a-jail that wasn't a ck. Hacking seems to be a huge issue these days too. Everyone is a half time dm'er that NEEDS to win against their rivals on the server. It drains the fun out of gang rp because there's a 50/50 chance the people you are beefing with IC are going to block wipe you and everyone else in seconds using nametags and aimbot and nothing can be done about it because there's no anti-cheat. I used to be scared to install CLEO mods because it would get you banned. This issue goes back to having staff members who care and are willing to a-jail and ban people suspected of hacks.

  14. I'm absolutely gutted to see these rocks of the community leave, and despite the issues spoken about, I'm still having a blast in game. I arrived here over 15 years ago so I've seen it all, I know what works and what doesn't, but that aside I found it to be one of the better era's in my experience with all this new stuff we have now it's amazing. The things I miss most as a player are now the things I'm trying to implement I.E wicked events and cool new updates, I can't script but I'm working hard on modding new furniture, /hold items and other stuff and will happily continue to do so to make peoples environments that little more special, not to mention all the other content creators trying to for fill that same vision. It's a roleplay server at the end of the day, we had a great server and a huge population without much to begin with, just a great community of people that want to play the game, things have moved on sure but you'll always have people here trying to make the community a fun place. And although yes I enjoy the nostalgia train too, a lot of players I've helped through /re have been very new players, if not a couple of months to a couple of days old so it says to me there are new players still coming through. We're all the reason we're all here.

  15. Understandable. I don't suppose you would want to hear the opinions of hypocrites who cannot bear hearing that (gasp!) they are not faultless. Liars, too, at that! Because here's faction leader (as a Sergeant) Azuko in one of his everyday faction leader discussions with Iudex and his friend — whom he apparently hates so much now that Iudex is no longer around. No longer going to respond to this guy!

  18. It's worth asking why this happened. Unlike the managers of "other communities", Tyrell Parker, you at least have the distinction of understanding what roleplay is, and even being apt at it, but this didn't save you from making the same mistakes others have done, namely appointing people for whom roleplay was a means to an end, and not an end in itself. While it seems to be easy and popular to pin the blame on "other communities" who promoted this kind of mentality (and they do, without a doubt) while LS-RP was on a break, it was on LS-RP that this mindset was not only born, but encouraged by a section of the staff team who had zero interest in creating or even engaging in roleplay, but craved acceptance and power. They could not create something original if their life depended on it, and lacking creativity their only way to shine was to repackage copy-pasting real-life and sell it as some revolutionary act of innovativeness and imagination. These people eventually rose to prominence by enforcing arbitrary standards and railroading roleplay within some pre-determined boundaries instead of allowing it to develop organically. But since their scornful imitation of life obviously paled compared to actual roleplay, they had to make sure that their changes were well received, one way or another. So they started pitting factions and players against each other by assembling groups that on the surface looked like they were trying to solve an issue while, in practice, they were targeting a specific group of players, or by stirring up dissent in factions they considered problematic, or by enacting ridiculous rules that were meant to hinder one's portrayal while having no good reason to exist beyond some vague need for "realism". LS-RP slowly glided into a draconian environment in which dissent was either bought out through favors (staff positions, promotions within factions, perks, etc.) or silenced by driving away the critics. It got to a point where if someone had the right connections they could get anything they wanted regardless of their actual roleplay skills or impact on the server, and likewise if a player dared to object to the mainstream opinion held by the leadership, they'd find themselves removed from their positions on shaky grounds, if any were even necessary, or hounded by one of the many corporate named teams such as the Law Enforcement Role Play Brainstorming Group or whatever else their bright minds came up with in their only act of creativity. This situation of course drove away most of the more imaginative and committed players, ultimately leaving little more than just a bunch of power-hungry individuals, their sycophantic "friends" and people for whom roleplaying amounted to knowing how to use /me and /do. Of course they then first turned onto each other, and once the LS-RP ship began to tilt, most of the people that were an integral part of this system quickly jumped ship over to other communities, seeking new ways to satisfy their thirst for power, bringing with them the mentality they had been part of or fostered. But that's a story for another day, and for another set of (panda) ears to hear. The point being that it was the staff, first, that was filled with toxicity and vultures that would eat players alive at any sign of a misstep. It's great that you guys put so much effort into everything you do and work tirelessly for days on end to deliver something to the community, but so did Foran and Xarex when they led factions for years, and yet they were kicked out without as much as a "thank you for your service" because they didn't want to play ball with the staff. It's awful that you feel like the developers' efforts aren't appreciated enough by the players, but when people who sank hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game found themselves targeted by admins because they disagreed with the idea that LS-RP was meant to be a 1:1 scale model of California, they also felt the same way. It's a shame to see you think the community isn't supportive of the staff, but the average player likely thought the same of the leadership when they restricted features that should've been available to everyone to a selected few friends, or appointed their unqualified errand boys to a position of power. It must be said that almost none of this was your fault. But you were in a place where you could have stood up to it, like Damian did with Krisk, and you didn't. So it sounds somewhat hypocritical to now pull a Rodney King and ask why can't we all get along. It was the staff that chose to lock themselves in their ivory towers and close their eyes pretending that all was well, that any dissent was just the product of bitter provocateurs, only coming out to defend themselves when some sort of scandal erupted or to announce the next batch of chosen ones to be granted a red or green name. While the community definitely holds its fair share of responsibility in falling for the lie that better roleplay could only be achieved by being more aggressive and judgmental towards their fellow players, it was the staff that isolated themselves first. You, and the server in general, are just paying the price of choices that were made years ago.

  19. Why keep inactive testers and admins around? Remove them. Make space for people who are actually working towards a better community. Start advertising & promoting the god damn server! Listen to your community. Illegal factions have been waiting for mapping & other things for months on months, to the point where they end up closing. Now look at the illegal scene, hardly any active gang factions. The same thing that once use to keep this server thriving. Shit, we was told there was a new ROE being set-up MONTHS ago, how long does it really take to write up a new ROE? Lol. And remember, without US the player base/community, you admins/lead admins/testers/management have NOTHING. Get off your high horse, you don't get paid to do this, so take time to respect and acknowledge your community. You are here to help build the server up & make it a better place for us role-players to role-play in, same way we are here to keep this server active by logging in & roleplaying. Revamp the whole of IFM or whatever it's called too, coz yall suck and have zero knowledge about the streets, clearly. my list can go on To add. I agree with what Eren has said, and we need people with that type of motivation taking the key roles in admin positions. Drumj is another good example too. I've been on this server 15 years & seen it's ups and downs & the worst thing you can do is ignore your community, the ones who make LS-RP what it is.

  22. Here's a few problems and their solutions that I have in mind. 1. Most original players don't even know that the server re-opened. (I personally stumbled across it and decided to jump back in.) As people said before me, you could use the massive list of emails who registered and maybe more people will realize the server is back. 2. There are 40 illegal factions which is the avarage count of active players throughout the day time. (Most of them are not active) You could limit people's ability to open a faction so they have no choice but to join an existing faction and boost their activity. 3. There's a huge barrier for new players who want to start roleplaying, the only way them to learn would be from an experienced player they know personally. The answer to this is obvious- Guides. 4. Many players are just looking to provoke shootouts, there is no real consequencess to killing whether it's OOC or IC. Increase jail time for DM and IC killing.

  24. Hi there, I don’t typically post on these threads but after reading @Eren ‘s post, I feel comfortable sharing my own thoughts. 1. Illegal Roleplay / Official Factions: the only faction I have genuinely seen active from the current list of official factions are Barons MC and EHC. Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong / just shouting into my own echo-chamber here. We need to open the door for more factions that are active / deserve official. I can name quite a few. Sadly even those factions are beginning to fall off due to my next point. 2. Staff Communication / Wait Times: For context, my faction waited months to hear back from IFC on a faction complex. Our main faction leader reached out numerous times. It took us reaching out to @izumi to get the ball rolling. @Spectre and @badhbh ignored this request and left it on unopened for a month. Our primary faction leader had reached out over discord and forums. I spoke to several members of IFT who all expressed the same: They've also waited ages to hear back from IFC for their own requests. Their hands are tied on so many requests. Recently, I put in a LOI for the Illegal Faction Management Public Team on recommendation of a member of the IFT. I, like many others here, only want to help. I gave ideas and expressed my interest, only to never hear back and be left on read. Perhaps I lack an understanding of how long it takes them to process information but it seems that even an acknowledgement would be reasonable. 3. Punishments: Recently, there was an LCN faction that consistently DMed, terrorized other factions, and based on their OOC grudges consistently broke rules to ruin the roleplay of several factions on this server. They have been, subsequently and rightfully, banned. This process however, took around 2 months. They were reported relentlessly and despite these efforts it took until tracksuithitman started to look into them. After several faction reports and consistent player reports, bans were issued. This problem could’ve been resolved months prior had the staff been able to deliver harsher punishments, especially given the severity of the actions. All in all, I know I’m only one voice but I hope that at the very least that the staff who do help and are outspoken about the issues here know that we are listening and we do appreciate it. Unfortunately, without significant change at the top, this will undoubtedly continue to trend downward like LSRPV did. I encourage any of the people I've mentioned here to reply, I know they won't because they have no defense but I might as well keep them honest.

  27. I never thought when i restarted this conversation that it would give a lot of valuable responses, giving @Mmartin a great overview of the communities point of views from players, staff, and developers. However, as @drumj mentioned, without a reliable developer, there's no point in moving forward. Simply like @Eren said that inactive admins and testers are creating barriers, leaving active staff overworked and unappreciated. Removing idle staff would make space for dedicated testers or players to step up and improve overall efficiency and activity. If the community wants to retain itself, it's time to acknowledge these issues and make the necessary changes. Working together on solutions and appreciating the effort being made will move the server forward, rather than staying stuck in the past. Without collective action, the future remains uncertain.

  29. “His rounds were devoted to having fun with his gangster friends who drank plenty each hole, gambled recklessly on the stroke of a ball and carried loaded weapons in their golf bags for use in emergences.” Capone, with his crime syndicate bringing in an estimated $100 million a year at the peak of its operation, had no problems funding his golf habit.

  37. SAN ANDREAS PAUL GRUMO, ALLEGED BOSS OF LOS SANTOS CRIME FAMILY, DIES AT 63 Booking photo of Paul Grumo following his arrest in 2021. (Los Santos Police Department) BY HAROLD DALEY Dec. 10 Updated 9:01AM PT LOS SANTOS — Paul Grumo, the alleged boss of the Los Santos crime family, was found dead in his Palomino Creek home Sunday morning. The 63-year-old died suddenly in his sleep, and authorities stated it is too early to comment on whether or not foul play factored into the death. Born and raised in Tampa, Grumo is believed to have got his start in organized crime working for the Valenti crime family’s long-time Florida-based caporegime Frank D’Armi as a bookmaker in the late 1980s. Grumo moved to Los Santos in 2013 when the Valenti family was in a state of turmoil with much of its upper echelon behind bars or on trial and deadly power struggles decimating the family further. Grumo has been linked to notorious Mafia bigwigs from Santino “The Butcher” Valenti’s inner circle such as the now-imprisoned Samuel “The Beak” Beccarini and Donald Rigazzi, who currently resides in Tampa. Grumo was released from prison in 2009 after serving a 5 year sentence for aggravated assault, but otherwise managed to stay under the radar of law-enforcement and out of the public eye for much of his criminal career, until rising to the top of the Valenti crime family in recent years. Grumo faced a lengthy trial before eventually being acquitted of money laundering charges last year. In stark contrast to Sonny Valenti—who through his bloody rise and high-profile trials became a celebrity and embraced a life of luxury, often seen wearing expensive suits, driving flashy sports cars, and lived in a Richman Hills mansion—Grumo largely managed to avoid headlines and exhibited a more humble lifestyle. Mafia pundits point to Grumo as being a key figure in the rebuilding of the Valenti crime family, ushering in an era of stability for an organization that had been in constant turmoil since the 2011 conviction of its original boss Sonny Valenti. The Valenti family, once thought to be completely defunct, began making significant inroads and a resurgence in the Los Santos underworld in 2018 and beyond, which came to the surface with their bloody feud with the renegade Bellantonio crime family in 2019 and 2020. Since then, there has been no violence linked to the Valenti family. Authorities believe that the rival organizations negotiated a peace treaty and cut all business ties, through the help of mediation from Bonanno family bigwig Joseph “The Barber” Uttaro. The impact Grumo’s death may have on the landscape of the Valenti family and Los Santos underworld remains to be seen. Some believe that Sonny Valenti still holds the top seat in the family from behind bars, but his level of influence in the family’s modern state of affairs is largely unknown. The Butcher’s earliest possible release date is 2036.
