Well, speaking of bands, there probably won't be a lot of people that have the chops to write/produce their own material, let alone roleplay it. That's a lot of work. Players shouldn't claim famous songs or other people's works too. I think an easier and more enjoyable way would be to roleplay as a cover band. Everyone can do it, the material is already there and you're only left with the thing you're here for - roleplay. At the end of the day, it's still a game, so I think it's pretty important to make it easy and accessible to roleplay, so more people can join and create the industry. There might be exceptions, though, the ones that do have the chops, should be recognised as original artists and can claim their material as their own. But that's really optimistic.

Some great ideas here and I'm happy that all things cultural (arts, music, etc.) are getting the attention and are not being ignored. I personally am really interested in all things music, so the mentioned support for musicians/bands/artists would be tight and a good thing to know if, for starters, one would like to form a band. I hope I'm not alone on this. Speaking of suggestions, it's gonna be pretty hectic at launch, with it's own set of priorities, so I'm not expecting much at the very beginning. Down the line, though, if things will pick up, I could see a whole music industry with venues hiring bands to perform and all things that come with it, to be a thing. If there's enough engagement, of course.

Well said. What's the point of this? The community has clearly voted and chose their stance and they're going to roleplay it regardless of what the 'official' lore says anyway. San Andreas as California just makes way more sense.
