A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Recommended Posts

Some people pretend they care, while they most definitely do not care. Only there to help themselves and feed their own ego.

In my opinion, LSRP is doing pretty good. I've been playing since pre-launch and so far I haven't noticed anything drastic. The people in management are easier to reach, IFTC isn't like @JesterJr said a circlejerk and recently new members of FT were added who are more trustworthy and capable in comparison to the batch before it.

Can the server improve? Of course. But I think us as players ought to improve as well. Because ever since I came back, a lot of people here have returned with their inflated ego's, doing their best to get their ego back up. A lot of people have gone soft, continiously complaining and looking at how they can bite you in the ass when you're not looking, just so they can benefit themselves at the cost of other players.

I think we need to find a healthy balance and discuss this academically like the OP did to raise our concerns, along with good manners and eloquent speech, instead of whining and talking shit.

I think some improvements in terms of payouts can also be done in order to motivate players to log in. People are most likely not going to spend the same amount of time In Game as they used to so I think some "helicopter money" can go a long way. It's never been done but I think it's worth considering and the benefits will outweigh the possible consequences to the server economy, which, obviously is not perfect.

A few options would be:

- Add a default paycheck increase for all non leading players that are members of Companies. Boost their paychecks depending on rank, can even start with a 3-5k boost / paycheck, that increases as they are promoted within the company. Allow for company points to be used to increase paychecks as well. Motivate players to RP and where it applies, learn to RP, rather than farm scripted jobs endlessly.

- Add the company chat even though from what I read there were some concerns it would demotivate unofficial factions from seeking to become official. I think the main motivation behind the official status right now is access to the drug and weapon store, given the fact that the supply of weapons and drugs is currently limited. Most companies seek to employ non faction members as well, who will often be new players too. Company chat can then serve as a platform for them to ask questions regarding the company system, and the scripted jobs that companies are based on. They can get quick answers and take some pressure off testers and admins as well, since older members can guide them for simple questions, related or non related to the company system.

- Extend happy hour to also apply to paychecks, savings, interest. It's a good improvement, I noticed an uptick in players when happy hour was introduced. Take it even further to motivate players to log in during dead hours (mornings) as well as peak hours.

- Motivate new players by increasing payouts to them. Introduce the old mechanic paycheck back (2.900) for new players up to level 5 or even 10. This coupled with a company paycheck would be a very welcome boost for new players starting their journey on LSRP.

- Double the savings interest rate up to a certain amount (500k for example). Being able to deposit and withdraw while having savings is a nice addition. I think this option is also worth considering.

- I saw there was a mention of ads being run already. Add a promotion for new players; double starting money for players that come from ads. Or, a free vehicle for those new players to get them started.

This will be a read, but for those who care to read it then here we go. And I know, I was just banned, I'm a troll, etc etc.

I put 6 months into a character's development and despite what anyone says my faction provided a ton of RP in many ways overtime. A lot of unofficial factions have as well both here and gone.

You can look at a good majority (not all) of staff members whom hold a management position and haven't posted anything related to role playing or actually being in game and contributing some sort of rp. Their excuse, "we have a life", as if none of you playing have nothing going on beyond this game and just devote your time and soul into this (some of you do, but I digress). And no, screenshots aren't the metric used to showcase ones development, but it's a huge factor to the entertainment and portrayal that we all seek to have within our characters which is why almost all of us do it and take time to edit, etc.

With that being said, a lot of the focus and actual development of the server itself lies with the management team. How does a staff team whom doesn't even provide consistent game updates, offer boring and redundant script additions/schemes, seldomly propose bland innovations in rewarding unique rp, and who constantly refute the lack of communication with the broader unofficial faction community, expect players who actually come ig for 2-3 hours a day to just purely RP and contribute? There's a lack of incentivizing, rewarding and nurturing new/stable factions which is why this conversation keeps coming up.

I've proposed solutions when @Scumpy asked the unofficial faction leaders at the time a couple of months ago some things to improve on in IFM. I gave him my recommendations and got nothing from any staff members or IFM about my submission, or if any implementations were being discussed. Wtf was the point?

Speaking of admins, look at these individuals post record.

@Michael @badhbh @izumi I see a lot of forum reporting, wtf do ya'll do behind the scenes? Orchestrate the decrease in PB? We're barely getting quality updates, don't get me started on IFM implementations. Factions should be able to easily (24-48 hrs reply time frame) rp a score, something nuanced and elaborate and provide screens via discord to an IFM member for script money, without the tedious scheme application for each score. Factions lasting 3-4 months out of character should be able to own multiple businesses with less restrictions (obviously a limit here) without needing to go through the leasing process, and funded by the server. Basic and beneficial requests that are overlooked even though multiple people have probably said it. It's GTA SA, not a supreme court hearing. And you have IFM members to lean on heavily in making decisions because most of the guys outside of staff member IFM actually play the game consistently. What do you guys even rp, cause I have no clue what you guys do in an in-game perspective. Keep in mind folks, these are the individuals running the server as we speak and mainly all aspects of its success. Prove me wrong though.

@Mmartin Where are donation money going to? Premium members money, and show me the updates that you guys keep saying "the players are asking for". Aren't you head of development? I had to keep answering that exact question because I got banned on 4 accounts, contributions of @Spectre. Galleani is one example of an illegal faction that for some reason keeps their official status, but could easily be toppled over by other factions official and unofficial. They should of been removed a long time ago for their inactivity and lack of contributions. And none of the accusations made by @trksthtmn3 even tho we had our issues were formally addressed. Yes, I made a staff report on him too, and it got shut down in what? 1-2 days time? You wonder why people have no faith and trust in you, since your takeover of the community, we've seen a drastic and steady decrease ultimately leading to lsrpv's failure and now soon to be this iteration. Maybe you're the root problem, but everyone who speaks out against you is scolded and banned.

If you have read this long and I'm not banned for this then kudos to you. The funny thing about this whole debacle is that lsrpv failed epicly, and they think this will last. The pure definition of insanity right there.

You want player retention? Should have listened to our requests/qualms. Want to embrace and promote the success of this role play? Should focus more on unofficial factions, 80% of the bloodline within this community.

Until you can work on that part of this declining server, maybe you can retain what's left of the nostalgia pizza. Because at some point it'll run out, and that nostalgia fuel is gone whether you like it or not.

Hey @manslaughter,

Since my name was brought up. I'll address your concerns and state that all of the feedback that was given by unofficial faction leaders was forwarded to the correct people. Furthermore, there were threads made around the topic at hand. If you refer back to the message that was sent out, it was a general feedback request that was optional for unofficial factions to take part in to see if we as the IFT could find or spot any repetitive issues. Out of the repetitive issues, there were only a handful that were presented forward such as drug concerns and the spotlight for unofficial factions itself.

With that being said, I think it is very unwise of you to think that there was no point of submitting the things that you did. Your feedback along with many others was taken into account before a handful of discussions started within the private section. I think majority of you fail to realize the things that are happening behind the scenes and how many discussions in fact take place. However, at the same time, there is so much that can be discussed until the development side proceeds forward with suggested things. It is clear that the sensitive topic of how IFT is handling things is up in the air. However, I do reassure you that everyone is taking the job seriously especially after the recent spotlight of discussions that took place publicly.

One thing that we strive and push for is transparency. With transparency also comes the line between the truth and the lie. I would urge you guys to always hear both sides of the story before jumping to a conclusion. I am not saying that you cannot have a mind of your own, but there is a sense of urgency that we are not working machines as well and that we have a full-time job. With that being said, I would like to still push forward for transparency and most importantly being more communicative towards the general community that includes both official and unofficial factions. This will be discussed internally on how we can keep everything aligned but most importantly give out more details along with what is happening behind the scenes as long as it's not considered leaking. This can be in a form of FT updates, roadmap, or even community meetings. This is something that we're going to discuss and bring forward. Furthermore, we are going to be revamping the Faction Public Team soon enough that the FTC can comment on themselves ( @Flip, @Spectre, @badhbh) that will take a different direction and a structure.

I hope response was respectable and all I ask for is time from our end to strength the process even more.

@manslaughter You won't find me posting roleplay screenshots on the forum because I personally don't find the fun in editing screenshots for others to look at. I roleplay for my own character's story, and not for the benefit of a screenshots topic.

I hope we get to meet ingame, though. This seems passionate.

Just my 2 cents:

People should not putting their personnel emotion and ego into a thread that tried to make the server better. Its make this thread full of hatred drama and a joke, which didn't help the current situation. I believe on the comment above no one is 100 percent right and 100 percent wrong. Admins/ management of LSRP and player both have space to improve. If the current flaming continue in this thread, I believe even we reach 100 page it still be flaming come and forth, nonstop. I suggest people who reply, can avoid their personnel emotion and their ego to solve this as adult or professional way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My suggestion as civilian rp, which mean I'm not in any legal or illegal faction:

What I like to see as civ rp:

  • More event: Like marathon, racing or skydiving that bring player together. Now most of the player is just stick to the people they know and stay on their turf or safe zone. we need to bring player together.
  • Some dramatic and funny IC Event: False nuclear alarm that make player run to Palomino creek to look for shelter, or Simple fuel tank explode in idlewood causing a little chaos.
  • An active Government faction, and a little more living city.
  • Admins that will give out some random RP job like deliver random cargo to random, painting the wall for the old building. It will bring more fun to the server without an script.

It just my 2 cents of opinions.

Let's be completely honest here for once, 9/10 of the playerbase stop playing or resort to dming and trolling because of CERTAIN ADMINS punishing unfairly. There are a few factions which end up closing because of these admins which decreases the playerbase. In my opinion, some admins need to be removed, especially the ones who get complains about or staff reported. There was an admin staff reported for aimbot but nothing has happened, not sure why. Leadership are just friends together who help other friends who are admins and cover for them. I'm not trying to hate on the admin team, in fact, there are some good ones. I would say 2-3 are just ruining the image for the rest.  A legitimate source of mine leaked about a certain admin who's active in the scene still that is helping a group of ban evaders and hackers dm on the server.

Why does it take almost a month to reply to a ban appeal for example, when the same admin is playing on the server everyday. It makes no sense. Of course, getting the person banned will not increase the playerbase as they probably play with a friend which makes it instead of 1 person, its 2.

I would like to add the protection that LSPD / LSSD get on the server is insane. If you can't get admin or tester on the server, just apply for PD It's basically the same thing at this point.

I have evidences to back all my claims but if I end up posting anything here, I will get censored quickly. If you want to see anything, just message me on the forums your discord and I will give you an add.

I'm still not sure why people are withholding "solid evidence" and only sharing it privately. It's like their trying to make a "we're dragging everything down" group on their own.

Mmartin has clearly stated previously that if you have solid evidence, you can share it with him directly. I'd share it with him and see what kind of a response do it get, then choose to share the response.

The LSPD and LSSD testers statement is completely irrelevant. You can see for yourself when you log in and simply just scroll the player list or type /testers, there's been an addition of a lot of red names and most of them are not even legal roleplayers.

The only thing I agree with is the ban appeals response delay, but these people probably brought it upon themselves when they got banned in the first place. And I've been part of staff teams that have rules implemented for who can handle what report, for example; if an illegal faction member has reported a illegal faction member over an rp dispute, then only legal roleplaying admins can handle such reports, same goes the other way around. Pretty sure this would prevent, or at least lower, the number of those claiming biased staff decisions.
