  1. I'm not saying you're being hostile, but the majority is. But yeah, the project has had so much effort put into it, so I doubt it will be abandoned. Let's just hope that Mmartin managed to solve his issues irl and we'll get a proper update on Sunday or Monday after the staff meeting. Not like someone can do something about it.
  2. There's a reason why it's called a staff meeting. That's why it's not visible to everyone. But I'm sure everyone will get an update after it, once things are cleared up inside. Once again - I agree. However, that doesn't justify a hostile attitude towards leaders, staff and supporters. Mistakes are being made from both sides.
  3. A business is something you should work on full-time. This is done on freetime and it's driven by the whole idea of continuing the LSRP legacy and just because people enjoy to code, it's their hobby. Another thing is revenue - while patreon money might look big, it's not. Dedicated OVH server, 24/7 ddos protection with an on-standby support team, domains, custom mappings, etc. It all adds up to a big sum of money. There's not much left from Patreon and I do believe that the leftover are just placed aside for the future, because running a server this big will never be cheap. You've only seen the tip of the iceberg. A lot of the content already in the server wasn't made public, because it can be clearly seen that most of the features are immediately ripped off by another community. And it was a while since I was an Insider, so I suppose there was even more content added in the past months, that wasn't revealed to everyone. Yes, but it was handled extremely poorly. There has been a lot of bad apples in the staff, and even leadership teams. Usually people that would involve with the frequently had the bad experiences. I've been here since 2011 and I enjoyed almost every single moment here. I've met amazing people and some even became my friends irl. No other gaming community I ever was part of was as good as this.
  4. I agree, more communication from Mmartin would definitely make lives easier for everyone. But I think what also would make it slightly easier is people stopping to be "internet knights" and rebels. Yeah, I get it, you're unhappy - just cancel your patreon membership and mind your own business, no need to start a warfare in #main chat, that makes it harder for everyone and your concern for those who are responsible for handling the community kind of loses it's point. And there is an update, however it's visible only to staff and early supporters - Mmartin called a staff meeting on Sunday. The community usually gets a blog post after those.
  5. There's literally other, easier ways to distribute weapons illegally not through gun dealers. Like just grant a certain amount of these to leaderships of illegal factions so they could distribute them to their members, which then could either chose to keep them or sell them off to random people in the street for crack money.
  6. It's not a business, if it would be a business then the owners would live off it, but they don't - they have full time jobs and full time problems out there. Mmartin has been open and very clear on why things stalled, but people chose not to believe that and create conspiracy theories about the whole thing. If you call a failed to meet release date a lie, then you have troubles understanding how development works in general, but I think the reasons behind the delays were communicated out clearly enough, however, there could be more information in the time being. Hopefully we'll get more information as Mmartin has called a staff meeting on Sunday. And trust me, I'm as frustrated as anyone, however, I understand what an tiring task development is. And that life is a bitch, it can throw you off track in a blink. I've experienced that several times.
  7. The server isn't a full-time job for people. Even if it was, they can't dedicate a 100% of their time for it, just like you/your parents don't dedicate a 100% of time to the job.
  8. Anything out of moral norms was already banned a long time ago and people were okay with things the way they were. Sexual roleplay used to bring a lot interesting roleplay venues into lsrp - strip clubs, underground clubs, brothels, adult movie studios, prostitution rings and so on. And all of those venues would bring something to do for everyone - illegals, civilians, cops and so on... And it wasn't forced onto anyone, everyone had the choice if they want to take part in it or go on with their own roleplay.
  9. Would be stupid to abandon project after putting so much time into it. It'll come out sooner or later, we all got issues irl.
  10. Depends on the location. but it is illegal in, if not all, but at least in some parts of the US. Unrestricting these weapons will undoubtedly lead to 90% of the population carrying them. With the advertised in-game internet system I'm sure you could potentially create online stores selling them that would somehow make it a bit harder to purchase them, but they simply cannot appear in physical stores.
  11. I agree with all, except brass knuckles and switchblade knives - those are illegal and can't be purchased in stores.
  12. Speeding, illegal parking, putting pineapple on pizza
  13. You already have to accept the frisk. You'll get the same outcome, just with extra steps and this doesn't prevent stalling at all. Exactly. And stalling is also not allowed, therefore you can forum report that as well. This is just a closed loop - restricting one party will allow the other to abuse and vice-versa. And in the end of the day we'll still all meet in the forum report section. This doesn't solve anything. And there's no exact definition for stalling, naturally, native English speakers will type much faster then, for example me, for whom English is the 2nd or even 3rd language. I've been accused for stalling numerous times, when the robber would type in the speed of a court stenographer, whereas I have to think over what I'm about to write,
  14. I'm sure this would lead to heavy abuse, because it is less risky. And it would make robbing someone using an M4 assault rifle and a sports car even more convenient.
