Can’t wait to get started.

I believe you should be able to vpark, otherwise this encourages people to go car to car chain robbing trying to get peoples stashes. But personally it doesn’t really matter to me, I can live with either being able to park it or leaving it spawned.

I do agree with most of this. In my opinion, players should be able to apply for a Character Kill through Faction Management for CKs outside of their faction. That way if some of the situations you mention above occur, players can submit an application and have FM review their side and evidence and determine whether a CK should be applicable or not. When it comes to LEOs as you mentioned above, if they decide to go rambo and act with blatant disregard to their life and are killed it is definitely something that should be looked at as to whether or not it should be a CK.

I can definitely agree with this. On the other server most people know for some reason their IFM consisted of people who were primarily legal role players and has caused a lot of problems.

My guess is that Law Enforcement Officers will process and book their suspects there and there will be no other transportation other than the officer/deputy driving them there, however @jack will likely be able to answer further as he is the faction leader of the Sheriff’s Department which will be handling the Bolingbroke Correctional Facility.

Looking forward to a new experience and a fresh start and hopefully a more enjoyable experience than I’ve had on other severs on Rage.

Definitely agree with this, we need businesses up and running for launch.

Bail Bonds Company & Fugitive Recovery
mattmocz replied to JJDAOPP's topic in General Discussions Archive
From what I have discussed with staff, there will not be a bail system at launch. We’re still working out how the court system will work as a whole. However, down the line, I’m sure this would be possible should the system go into place, ran by players who put up money for others and have liability if people skip out on bond and don’t show up to court. -
Baker has said in discord that the schemes will open to individual roleplayers down the line, yes.

San Andreas Judiciary / Courts, what would you like to see?
mattmocz replied to RyanW's topic in General Discussions
Players will not have to file an IA report before contesting their charges. The process is yet to be entirely decided but RyanW and I are working on ways for players to appeal their charges in a way that isn’t a complete hassle or difficult. -

Depending on the way the jail times work, this can be entirely possible without in game court. If you are in jail for a few days and appeal to the DA’s office, if they see your charges are bogus or don’t have enough to prosecute in court they could be dismissed and you may be set free. -

In game court is likely going to be optional depending on agreement of the parties involved in the case. Most cases will be probably done on the forums. -
Definitely need map blips for clubs and other businesses for sure when they advertise.

I've seen warrants work on GTA:W for a long time with no one being able to approve them besides Judges. The thing that needs to be said that is that LEO roleplayers need to adapt from having the power to do everything without any checks and balances and learn to cooperate with others. The era of LEOs needing to be judge, jury and executioner is an archaic mentality that should be ended. It's not that hard to write a short narrative and provide a little evidence as to why they need the warrant approved. The standard for warrants is probable cause and that isn't a very hard burden of proof to meet. Hopefully in LSRP:V the Courts will not meet the same brick wall as it sounds like you had hit in the past.

I was the leader of the court faction on GTA:W for a long period of time, which consisted of the Judges themselves, the District Attorney’s office and the Public Defender’s office. Our court was divided into three branches: The Supreme Court, Appellate Court and Superior Court. The Superior Court was the trial court, with three separate divisions, those being criminal, traffic and civil. When charged with any crime, players had the option of three pleas: Guilty, Not Guilty or No Contest. When pleading Not Guilty, players would be held until the conclusion of their trial unless bail was granted. If a player pleas No Contest they will serve their jail time as normal and be released when the timer is over, not being held and have 30 days to appeal their charges to the court if they do wish. Some charges such as Capital Murder (which is murder but a CK of a player) and some other charges would be considered a Required Case which the player was required to sit in jail until their trial finished. This also applied for players who met 30 criminal points, where the court could then decide whether the player should face life in prison or some other penalty. Overall, this system has functioned very well on GTA:W and as a system averages nearly ~700 criminal cases a year, not counting players or companies suing eachother or law enforcement agencies or traffic cases. Also, LEO factions were required to have arrest warrants approved for most crimes if someone was not arrested on scene, as well as search and electronic surveillance warrants. I feel like a system similar this would be very beneficial to both legal and illegal players of the server, creating roleplay for both sides and ensuring fairness to criminal parties by approving warrants, etc through a system of checks and balances by the court.

Rethinking the approach towards civilian role play
mattmocz replied to Apophis's topic in General Discussions
I agree with a lot in this thread and there’s a lot of things that GTAW has pioneered in the legal roleplay space that LS-RP should definitely take note of and strive to implement or try to support in this community. After playing LS-RP for 6 years and GTAW since it’s launch I definitely can say I look forward to what LS-RP has to offer in terms of both illegal and legal roleplay and can’t wait for launch. After playing GTAW on both the legal and illegal side, leading the court system and being in many illegal factions, the experience I’ve had playing LS-RP was much more enjoyable than what I’ve had on GTAW and I’m sure many others feel the same way and look forward to the competition.
