  1. Hey everyone, another big community meeting update for you all. We covered a hell of a lot this week but mainly Q+As from players - if you didn't get your question answered be sure to come along to next week's meeting. In the meantime here's a rundown of what we went over this week: Sub-team Activities - The Modding Team has been working primarily on animations this week, but the overall plan is to have many more hairs/clothes available after launch. - The Mapping Team has had to deal with a fairly major last minute change to how interiors work in the game, meaning that shells for certain interiors have had to be created. These are already in place however, so thank you to all mappers who contributed to this! - The Communications Team has been focusing on social media, recruitment and monitoring for pre-release feedback. - The Content Management Team has been assisting with property setup for the pre-release, which is now in place. - The Legal Factions Team has been focusing on migrating legal factions over to the production server, and finishing off Teamspeak setup. - The Company Management Team has been setting up companies on the production server, and discussing the potential for company loans to be used to help businesses open in the short term. - The Property Management Team has been setting up many, many different properties for rental on the production server. - The Player Support Team continues to work on the Wiki, with the final articles being assigned. - The Event Team is eagerly awaiting release, and still has applications open. - The Faction Team has opened its Contraband Scheme and Property Scheme - get applying now! Pre-release status The pre-release, which is open only to staff and Premium members, went off smoothly on 9th June. We have peaked at 91 players so far, with an average of around 70 players online during the evenings. We've even had our first business opening up, The Vault, which will no doubt be one of many nightclubs active in Los Santos after launch. Over 300 characters have been created, 50 players renting properties, 1900 hours in the game in total... the stats are looking good, even though we're only at pre-launch. Roll on the official launch! Our focus has been on ensuring that bugs have been fixed promptly, and any essential Quality of Life improvements have been made wherever we can. You can find the changelog here, and if you have any suggestions, you can post them here. Likewise if you come across any bugs, you can post them here. The Economy A big topic this week has been the economy itself; it's something we absolutely want to get right in the long term, and a considerable amount of thought is going into it. We already have a system in place for tracking money in/out, along with more useful statistics, and we'll have an Economy Taskforce on the case for ensuring we make sound decisions moving forward. If you have real life experience and credentials in economics and finance, please get in touch with ROZE on the forums. At this point we are a little reluctant to pump too much money into the server; doing so might end up with money being taken away from players, which we'd naturally rather avoid. Later down the line we're also going to be looking at taxes and budgets: the ultimate plan being that taxes will fund the public services such as PD, FD and SD in an entirely circular fashion (so we're limiting the amount of money spawned into the server). Other Priorities We have a big list of priorities to tackle over the coming days and weeks, but to give you a snapshot: - We'll be applying additional Quality of Life fixes as-and-when they are suggested. Either use the suggestions board or this forum post - these are monitored regularly. - Support for 4k / higher resolutions. This isn't a quick job as it requires all UI components to be updated, but we know that many people do play on higher resolutions, and will be actioning this as quickly as we can. - Adjusting text size. Linked to the above: it'll be possible for you to change the size of in-game fonts to make them easier to read. - Ability to move your position when in an anim. We know this is essential for allowing your character to sit properly in chairs and so on, so we'll be looking into this. - More missions. Scripted jobs are very popular at the moment, and so we'll be adding more missions for players to complete ahead of launch. - Additional hairstyles and clothing mods. We know that player customisation is incredibly important to everyone, and we'll be adding these too. However we're not just going to add a load of packs at once; we're going to be a little bit picky and ensure that they're good quality. What to expect at launch - There will likely still be bugs - we will work on fixing these as quickly as possible - The DMV will be busy - remember there’s a grace period of two weeks - Scripted jobs are likely to be busy. We’re addressing it by adding more routes, vehicles - Evenings CET will be the busiest time - Remember to use /wiki in-game for quick answers - Remember: not all features are currently in the game. We’ll be asking for your opinions on what to implement in terms of priority Communications Update Our focus, as ever, is ensuring good communication between the staff/leadership teams and the community. Hopefully this has been better over the past few weeks. However, we're also now starting to focus on marketing efforts. As such: - We’re on social media, and the countdown begins! - Follow us on Instagram: @lsrpgta - Follow us on TikTok: @lsrpgaming - Anything you post on #media is fair game - turn off nametags and HUD for a better chance of being featured - We're still accepting Comms Team applicants to help with content production - Next survey will be about two weeks after launch, but keep suggestions and feedback coming as we’re reading everything on-the-fly The SAMP Forums Yes, they're coming back this week... Thanks to everyone who came along to the meeting and sorry to those of you who didn't get a direct answer to your question. Please come along to our next meeting and we'll hopefully get around to your queries then. See you at launch on the 16th - it's actually happening!!!

  2. I agree with this thread. There's a difference between realism and a system that is fun and works on an rp server. If we want realism let's remove all the benefits rp servers have. If your character dies it will be an automated CK. Got injured or shot? Let's charge the player 250k and have it be in debt for eternity. It just doesn't work. Last night during the community the following was said: "We don't want to make it feel like you have to grind 7 hours to afford a basic car" "We want the economy to be as realistic as possible" First of all, there IS no economy right now. People literally have to grind 7 hours to be able to afford rent. This is supposed to be an rp server but I fail to find the rp aspect in having to grind a scripted job. It literally pays more to just afk somewhere and farm the hourly benefit paychecks. New players should be provided with some basic assets so that they're able to start RPing. 5k should be a fair enough start for rent and a down payment for a car or to be able to rent a car for some time. Last night it was also mentioned that the scripted jobs will be busy and overloaded during the first weeks of the server's opening. The reaction for that was that players will just "have to wait longer to be able to do a scripted job". Where is the fun in that and I really fail to see where the support for new players is coming from. It just doesn't motivate new players from sticking araround. Theres no rp to be found if we are forced to just grind a scripted job.

  3. Economy is a big issue right now. I think we all appreciate that you are giving your best to keep the economy as stable as possible, but the elephant in the room is that there is, as of now, no real way to get around the map properly. People need vehicles. Everyone, as of now, is either on foot, is using faction vehicles or is using job vehicles to go around the map. I don't mind the loan system. It isn't bad, but it involves, more or less, grinding. I'm providing a few examples (just faction pay, no temporary pay). I am, to keep this easier, always playing seven hours a week in every example. Let us do the maths with my other character: And, surprise surprise, my third character is also a LEO. I know. I really love to play LEO characters. These are three of my examples. Every example I provided presupposes that I: play at least 7 hours a week spend 7/7 hours ON-DUTY don't have any other weekly expenses I have to pay in-game (e.g. a house, rent) I'm gonna provide one last, fictional example. Maybe others want to calculate their character's income and expenses as well, so Staff can use our examples to work out how the system needs to be adapted to work the best. As for my personal opinion: It seems to work out, but I can't lose the feeling that I, sooner or later, have to grind. I'm no friend of grinding. And keep in mind: There's going to be other expenses too. Rent, gas money, maybe narcotics here and there, maybe a firearm, maybe citations. It needs to be adapted, but I don't have enough insight to help you out here. I hope the examples are going to help you out.

  4. yeah i agree the financing system doesnt do its job just yet. i would suggest making down payments a lot cheaper, and extending the max finance time from 12 months to 16, or 24 months i think it would be fair to own a car after 24 months of financing on a 3-5% down payment. this would make vehicles financially accessible to way more people

  5. First off, I'm not pointing fingers to anyone but right now the economy is really awful. So my thoughts after playing for a bit is that it's just way too low. Now I understand management doesn't want to pump money into the server to the point where we see supercars on every corner of every streets. Let's take lawn mowing and trucking for example. Usually you make about 20$ per lawn you mow once you fully completed the mission and it takes about 10-15 minutes per lawn. So let's say you manage to make a net income of 120$ per hour lawn mowing. Meaning if all you do on the server is mow lawns and you play on average 3 hours per day you'll be able to afford a scooter in about a month and a half of play.... I'm really struggling to understand the logic of this. Trucking makes very ever so slightly more money per run, and garbage is also very low. This doesn't seem to make much sense. I understand the reasoning of having low income and how it'll promote illegal role-play, so that selling drugs will be lucrative but if you want to promote role-play we're gonna need a bigger income otherwise it's never going to work. If you can't own a basic car in less than 10 hours or something like that. It's always hard to balance the economy and I understand the careful approach but I don't think that this is the right approach. And while I know we only really have one shot at tuning an economy system this will make players go away once release if it's not changed. Maybe it's setup this way to avoid donators to endlessly grind (which is fine) but personally if a player has to spend over 200 hours to own the very basic entry model of a car it'll turn them off pretty quickly. In conclusion, the economy needs a drastic change to make it at least playable since right not in it's current state it's unplayable and I haven't seen a single player owning a vehicle since pre-release... I'm not here to propose any number changes since I don't know jack about economy other than maxing out my 401k every year. I just hope this economy is adjusted before the 16th otherwise it'll be a massive complaint and will result in players leaving the server.

  6. Because LS-RP is well know about how strict the RP standard is and joining a new server is something better not worse in my opinion, give you a fair chance with everyone to do whatever you want from the start, get a stronger root.

  12. Tbh I don't think it's too bad. I mean I get it, but the goal is for a super realistic economy. I think your concern about the bike prices is fair but at the same time I think they didn't allow financing so that people wouldn't be speeding around on bikes they put a 3K down payment on and trolling. As far as job/hourly pay I've made about 17K in the past 2 days according to my financial report so it's definitely possible to make money. You just gotta put your mind to it and grind.
