Hello, Big news today. Never thought I'd be announcing this in a million years, but here goes. Due to popular demand, we'll be re-opening our San Andreas Multiplayer server. Normally, I wouldn't consider this decision because all of our primary focus goes into developing our RageMP game mode, however due to things being a bit quiet lately we've concluded that it won't do us any harm run both servers side by side for the time being. We'll be releasing the SA-MP server in pretty much the same state as it was last turned off in 2021. We won't be deleting any characters or assets. We'll have to do some database cleanup at least, but it'll be very minimal. This of course opens a whole new sets of challenges, both personal and technical. I'll try to answer some of the more pertinent ones right off the bat, and the rest will be clarified as we go: We'll continue to use this forum and create new sections that are necessary. The old forums will remain available as an archive as they are now. Staff members will be staff on both game servers. Reinstatements into the staff team will be available, even for members who only want to play on SA-MP. We don't want to set any expectations in regards of longevity of the SA-MP server. If there's reasonable interest in it, players want to play it, and it'll support itself financially, this can be more than a limited time experiment "nostalgic blast from the past". Most legal factions will, at least for the time being, remain with shared boards and leadership across both game modes. Reinstatements will be possible, even for players who only want to join on SA-MP. Technicalities of this implementation will be made available later on. Factions will be fully supported by the IFT. We're also going to facilitate some form of asset transfer (cash) from SA-MP to V. This will of course have its restrictions to avoid just massively flooding the RageMP server with hundreds of millions; however with our pending economy overhaul on RageMP, assets will be much easier to come by regardless. As far as the timeline goes, the main technical challenge why we can't just turn it on now is that some functionality on the SA-MP server heavily relied on the old UCP (spawn change, skin change, etc). We need to re-add this functionality to our current UCP, and adjust our infrastructure to support the new (old?) server. There's also a bunch of small tidbits that aren't compatible with our current database structure (bans and such) that we need to adapt. This won't take too long, but given our track record with release dates, I'll save it for when we really know. But since I can't help it, my current estimate is 3-6 weeks from now we should be open for business! Keep in mind that some of the information above may change, if it does, you'll know. I'm sure you're wondering what exactly this means for our RageMP server. The way I see it, opening the SA-MP server up will help us with our current goal to reach the players we've left behind one way or another throughout months since launch. We hope that by engaging players in our community and platform, we'll be able to show you all the incredible progress we've made on both our game mode and process since launching last year. Our primary development focus will remain on RageMP and improving on the already great game mode we've created for you. We've a new defined set of priorities that we want to follow, and most of our focus will be going towards customization, ease of access to assets and features with a non-restrictive economy, and support for illegal factions. Check our Roadmap to see what we're working on right now as a part of 2.0 update, which includes long-awaited features such as Burglary, Social Media, Blackjack (yes, I know), further character customization and more. We're on a good track here, with both Burglary and Blackjack going into testing next week. All of this was announced earlier today on our Community Meeting. I believe that essentially stopping doing these after launch was unfortunate, however hindsight is 20/20 and with the constant chaos going on, it was easy to forget why they were so important. You can expect these to return on a semi-regular, roughly bi-weekly basis. I'd like to close this post by pleading to those who left our community because they were unhappy with the direction, or features we launched with. Now that the chaos of initial months are over, we're steady building on the solid foundation we laid out. Over the months, we've released many great features such as Graffiti, Pets, Purchasing properties, Drug packages, Cinematic mode, Startshift, Turf map, Facial expressions, thousands of clothing, animation and furniture mods, Second hand car dealerships, Spawning multiple cars at once, Hair ties, Paintball, Modshop, new Makeup script, Scratch off lottery, and many, many more. We've fixed hundreds of bugs and hosted around 40 official events. And we're going to keep doing that and more. Our sole motivation for doing so, and keeping on even when times are tough and the player base isn't what we'd have hoped it to be, is that we want to bring you, the community, a fun place to play. So consider (re-)joining a faction or creating a one, or joining the staff team. If you believe you can make LS-RP better, reach out to me directly and if it's in the best interest of the server, I'm sure we'll find a way for you to be involved. Hospital Structure Board of Directors (( NPC )) The Board of Directors is responsible for providing strategic oversight and governance to the hospital's operations and policies. Their mission is to support Mount Zonah's foremost clinical programs, biomedical research, and community outreach by providing financial resources, educational experiences, and volunteer opportunities. Human Resources (( Partially NPC )) Human Resources professionals handle a wide range of functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, physician/nurse training and development, performance management, benefits administration, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Their primary goal is to support the medical center's employees, foster a positive work environment, and align HR practices with the overall strategic objectives of the company. (( HR is comprised of the Chief Medical Officers and Hospital Supervisors. )) Chief Medical Officers Chief of Medicine Deputy Chief of Medicine The Chief Medical Officers serve as the clinical leadership of Mount Zonah Medical Center and are responsible for setting medical standards, protocols, and policies. They play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and clinical outcomes. CMOs also collaborate with the hospital's administrative leadership to align medical practices with the organization's strategic goals and maintain the highest standards of medical excellence. They are also charged with maintaining the hospital's competitive residency program. The current Chief of Medicine is Dr. David A. Reynolds, MD, FACS, FACC. Hospital Supervisors Attending Physician Hospital Supervisors are experienced medical doctors who are responsible for the direct care of patients within Mount Zonah. They chair specialty teams, supervise residents and medical students, and make critical decisions regarding patient diagnosis, treatment plans, and overall management. Attending Physicians play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible medical care and are actively involved in providing guidance and expertise to the healthcare team. Hospital House Staff Fellow Chief Resident Resident Intern Hospital House Staff are doctors who play a crucial role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of attending physicians and the CMOs. House Staff members actively involved in patient assessments, treatment planning, and medical procedures, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience and furthering their medical education. Nursing Staff (( All NPC )) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Nursing Staff provide essential patient care and support within our facility. They play a critical role in maintaining patients' well-being by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and providing emotional support. Nursing Staff also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care, contributing significantly to the overall healthcare experience and patient outcomes. Our Residency Program Mount Zonah's accredited residency program trains physicians in their chosen fields, from pediatrics, primary care and internal medicine to anesthesiology, pharmacy and nursing. Our programs are highly competitive and allow our residents to enhance their skills in one of the top hospitals in the country. Our programs are led by some of the nation's best physician-educators. We are at the forefront of medicine and innovation, translating groundbreaking discoveries into successful treatments with global impact. Resident Physicians, upon successful completion of medical school, join our staff as Interns (PGY-1 of Residency). Currently, Mount Zonah Medical Center offers ten fellowship programs. Each Fellowship may last from one to three years. The fellowship selected must generally align with the specialty chosen during residency. Cardiothoracic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of organs in the chest, generally the heart and lungs. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Clinical Neurophysiology focuses on the clinical and surgical treatment of the nervous system, generally the brain, spine, and nerves. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). Emergency Medicine focuses on illnesses and injuries that require immediate treatment, typically in the Emergency Room. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). General Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of the abdominal organs, generally the gastrointestinal system. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Medical Oncology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO). Obstetrics & Gynecology focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive system. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). Orthopedic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of musculoskeletal system, generally the bones and muscle structures. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS). Trauma Surgery focuses on the surgical and non-surgical, acute treatment of traumatic injuries. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is entitled to become a member of the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT); however, COT will not be appended to the physican's title, only FACS. I think it was around 2016, that I was first allowed to test a new script in a leadership capacity. Bare in mind, this was well before any of us had read the writing on the wall, and we were still rosy cheeked enough to legitimately believe that this was going to be the first addition of many, certifying Mmartin as a capable lead developer. I don't think Bay Area had happened yet, and GTA:W / GTA:5 roleplay was little more than quiet whispers in Skype calls. When I look at the current state of affairs, I'm brought back to those moments. Broken promises, missed deadlines, empty reassurances, and little regard for the brunt that the rest of staff had to bear for all of it. Reading admin posts is like looking in a mirror. The blind defense of a man who really doesn't give a fuck about you or anything else is something you'll really only ever understand when you're sitting in that seat. If I had to guess, it comes from a place of passion for the game. If I had to warrant another, the snarky attitude is misplaced frustration with Mmartin. Trust me, they know. They hate him too. I think it's plainly obvious that everybody still here is here for a love of the game, and a love for the community. If you would spare me just a moment of your time, I'd ask you to really think about what made LS:RP what it was. What is it you loved, what made it fun, what kept you coming back for more? If I could dare to get even more abstract: what was LS:RP? • LS:RP was us. You, me, and every other person who made a contribution to this game. Every administrator, every tester, every player, every faction, and every shred of effort that a group of likeminded, infinitely creative and impassioned players and friends alike had made across 12+ years. LS:RP was the community, and the infinite potential every one of us saw that the game could be, and came together with our combined imaginations to make it so. Feel free to disagree individually with any of my points, but I guarantee you every single one of them is a cherished memory to somebody here: • LS:RP was staying up till 3:00a.m with your friends, making a faction thread for the sheer fun of it; • LS:RP was Chete's MS13, revolutionizing the concept of factions, introducing hundreds of us to gang role play (including myself); • LS:RP was pioneers of inventive types of role play, like Shah of Persia, and R. Hout, who never stopped pushing the limit on exploring new concepts; • LS:RP was incredible individual character stories, curated on the screenshots & videos forum as a quiet time capsule of days past; • LS:RP was logging onto stunting servers / dm servers during server outages, or settling Skype arguments on that one server (for the life of me I can't remember the name! Koky's?); • LS:RP was the infinite contributions of people like Westside and Obsessi0n, who otherwise pushed the boundaries on individual characters and gang quality; • LS:RP was the infinitely deep, and infinitely static LCN scene, baring no greater sense of passion from a group of players on any game I've ever seen before; • LS:RP was the individual contributions of testers at the crack of dawn, hammering the last of the applications down after a particularly busy night; • LS:RP was walking into Meathead's Deli for the first time in 2014 and being introduced to casual, passive role play for the first time, and falling in love with it whilst Bob Seger blares over that 181.fm station; • LS:RP was midnight conversations with Bospy, Pitchounette and KaylaSpace, discussing what our dream FBI faction would be; • LS:RP was every internal gang war. Finding out that Nova died still gives me goosebumps, or having Icey retaliate for ColossalBQ CKing me; • LS:RP was figuring out how the hell to install IRC for the first time, when you got tester; • LS:RP was Teamspeak fights about the direction of your faction and where it should move forward. I never got to apologize to iJoker and I regret it; • LS:RP was the transition between ENB to the "elite" grime era of screenshots; • LS:RP was getting caught behind the Ganton blue projects with your gun stash by a pair of prying eyes, and logging off pissed off because you know the rest of your week is SACF; • LS:RP was the 2014-2016 era casinos. Companies like Roux and BION are still firmly branded into my brain; • LS:RP was learning about the mechanic paycheck in the county, and beating yourself up over the 50 hours you played without it; • LS:RP was seeing the name "Settlemire" (I think?) in the distance and pissing your pants in Skype about the incoming casefile; • LS:RP was the transition towards "grime" role play, focusing on drug dependency and mental illness, racism and other uncomfortable topics, pioneered by factions like Peddlers of Death; • LS:RP was the Iraq War level gang conflicts between factions like Beasley & Associates (love u Damaz), Crenshaw, Hoover, WGS18, ViperZ, EHC, and the thousand other factions I'm woefully forgetting as I write this; • LS:RP was the individual contribution of every administrator who took time out of their day to contribute to something they loved; • LS:RP was the individual contribution of every tester, every forum moderator, and every subteam member who worked to help make the community what it was; • LS:RP was the individual contribution of every faction leader, every member of FMP, and every player who worked to build their faction and make a permanent mark on the server; • LS:RP was long lasting friendships. I still play games with Surreal on a regular basis; LS:RP was us. I'm not putting my neck out to burn a bridge. Believe me, I love this game as much as any of you do. I'm not trying to shit on anybody, but I'm simply asking you to heed my warning: don't commit to something and blindly defend it because it's name is attached to something that you love. Their is very fair criticism to be had on the matter, and I'm asking you to place it correctly. Kane, Bennemus, and whoever are easy to direct your frustrations at because they respond. Don't let them be another lightning rod. We caught enough for him.0 points
