Was you staff in SAMP, Roze? If all three of you came up with this idea and genuinely stood back and thought; OK then, that's cool then that's a worry. Like I said, kudos for an event but if you want the proper realistic roleplay LSRP desires for, approach factions.

    Hey Fractilla

Yes I was a game admin on SAMP

You're absolutely right that we should have contacted factions, and we will absolutely do this next time. I apologise sincerely that this event didn't go well, and impacted some people's roleplay negatively

I hope you can understand our perspective on why we chose to do this event; We want to begin doing regular events on LSRP, and so we chose to do something that we have done before to get us warmed up. Wonderland festival goes all the way back to 2015, and it has always been located in the same place, we have never had this amount of negative feedback from wonderland before

I think a large part that went wrong (besides the extremely rushed deadline) was the teasers and marketing - We wanted to make it mysterious, but that led to people thinking that an actual alien event was coming, not something alien themed. We failed to understand that people would actually think we would go to the level of aliens invading for an event, this is of course something we would never do

SAN news and rumours made it even worse, with public broadcasts being made that aliens were invading. This is not a staff run faction, but we should have stepped in and stopped it sooner, and we should have been clearer with the marketing

Fortunately there is a positive side to mistakes, and that is that they are great learning opportunities. We want to bring realistic and enjoyable events to the community, and we will use wonderland as an opportunity to make future events better

We're currently thinking of the next event, this time we will be asking the community what they want, select the most popular ideas, and then speak with illegal and legal faction managements regarding the idea to cater it to everyone. Community involvement will be key in planning the next event

We appreciate your concerns and we know they come from a good place. Thank you for being passionate, your concerns, and everyone else's, has been taken on board - you will see clear changes in the event planning process going forward

In the future, I suggest less over-the-top events and more laid-back, unique ones. Events of such nature were more appreciated back in the 2016 era, when we were all young, knew very little about hardcore roleplay, and many people roleplayed as DJs and artists. I have tons of event and business ideas, but I always find it difficult to pursue them given the current nature of "enterprise" roleplay on the server, which has been exacerbated by Wonderland.

It sometimes feels like ROZE and AVIDITY are given special treatment just because they are led by admins. If I were to start an enterprise (or re-open one in my case), would I also be awarded the benefits that ROZE and AVIDITY are? Additionally, to host an event of such nature, what measures were taken ICly? I visited the faction threads of each, but there seemed to be very minimal roleplay surrounding Wonderland prior to the event. Did any enterprise incur any significant costs to set up the event ICly? Was there any /charity done? It just seems like this was an OOC motivated event, given an IC wrapper in the form of ROZE and AVIDITY, which just kills competition if we are going to proceed like this.

Hey there, using these companies ICly was basically the easy way out, as mentioned in the post it was all very rushed, and we just needed to quickly staff it ICly. I personally didn't like that it was being advertised as us running it, as ICly we were only hired to staff it. We never made any money from it or /charitied any money, but we did spend a few hundred thousand on staff costs, so we did get a financial hit from it, our company had more benefits and also staffed previous wonderland festivals before I was an admin

There was roleplay prior to the event where we had staff load up several trucks with equipment and drive to the peer to roleplay setting up, and after this there were containers and some construction particles left in the area

The issue was your staff members incompetently can't run events and it's worrying these people got their positions through the GTA 5 role play server forum work and now are making a mockery of leading their selected positions. If the event was done realistic, no issue, it was the peer mall-rat experience that unfortunatently proves that your staff member have this mentality - start the core, fix your problems or they will happen again.

Kudos for actually creating a event, though. Just next time, you should ask factions to run events and do it in characterly, there you'll see proper quality of roleplay.

All staff members involved in the setup were previously admins in SAMP, including Xanakin (IC aspects), Mmartin (the idea), and myself (social media posts & mapping), the issue doesn't lie here, the problem is the tight time constraints on top of ideas rapidly changing without any community involvement, which we must improve for any and all future events. We have learned a lot from this event, primarily the fact that we need to be more open, market better, and pass things through IFM/LFM/the wider community to ensure that everything works with various styles of roleplay

On my part with the mapping, I understand the map could have been better. The mapping team was originally assigned to handle this but were unable to meet the tight time constraints, and so I had to pick up the work very last minute and rush things

Above this, a lot of what went wrong with this event was that the community had the idea that this was going to be an alien invasion event, as SAN news reported that, this was not planned or handled by the staff team

    ---

Going forward from this, I would like to create some more open discussions regarding events to find out the reception of them before they are properly approved. We have another event in the pipeline already that we have already adjusted and tamed down as a result of what we have learned from the Wonderland event, and we will bring this event forward to the community very soon to gather opinions
