Hi, One of the biggest fascinations and innovations of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, compared to all other currently released GTA titles (yes, including even GTA V), is the presence of multiple paved airports and multiple large cities on a big map, with planes available to fly. San Andreas Pilot's Map version 6, last update: 2025 March 6th Changelogs: Version 6) 6th March 2025 Added runway numbers for runways on ATZs and the Verdant Meadows NFZ. Old map archive: To obtain a plane, it's highly recommended that you seek one second-hand from another player, as they can be very expensive. Not only to purchase, but also to maintain should anything go wrong. To fly a plane legally, one must obtain a pilot's license from the airport. It cost $375,000 last I checked, and the test is absurdly challenging and not very realistic to what you're going to be actually doing, assuming you're going the legal route. Nevertheless, it exists to test your skill with the aircraft, or more likely, to hone it until you can get it right. Don't worry, you only pay if you succeed. At the time of writing this unofficial guide, the plane registration has not been fully reinstated on forum. Therefore, at this time, it's your responsibility to pick a realistic call-sign for your plane. (ex.N978PP) As far as plane registration goes, here's a quote from an admin: All planes are fitted with radios (but not script-wise, so go to a 24/7 and buy a radio) and must be tuned to the ATC frequency (which is 20). Your plane stays parked in an airport hangar, and you must communicate with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) of the Los Santos Airport, codenamed LSX, via the proper template: /r LSX, [CALLSIGN], [REQUEST] (wait 10 seconds) /r LSX, [CALLSIGN], proceeding with [REQUESTED ACTION] Now, of course, in real-life one would need an actual ATC staff member to approve or deny any request at the airport. Seeing as there are no ATC staff, you are allowed to "NPC" it (pretend that there is one) with caution, as long as all members of your current roleplay party agree. Legally, a pilot is expected to update the ATC of the following situations: • emergency (“Mayday!”x3, callsign, number of souls on board, altitude/location, issue) • taxi to/from a specific runway • take-off/landing at a specific runway • poor weather conditions/visibility • entering/leaving city airspace Always ensure you have a stable internet connection, before you go flying an aircraft in any multiplayer game. Good luck, and safe flying! ✈️1 point

While it’s clear that some individuals have invested significant effort into the re-opening, and I can personally attest to the dedication and support provided by a couple of them, there appears to be a larger issue at play. If a ship with ten captains on board still manages to sink, it speaks to deeper systemic problem, primarily the disconnect and poor communication between management and community and the server's direction as a whole, that continue to hinder the server’s progress. The server feels as directionless as ever. The SA-MP reopening seems like a last-ditch effort to revive the community, but the lack of unified focus among the staff remains a challenge. With a substantial portion still focused on GTA 5—a venture that lost momentum years ago and has repeatedly demonstrated its lack of viability resources feel misallocated. We want to focus on SAMP, but also we are entertaining the idea of relaunching the GTA 5 server, sending all the faction leader's a google form about it, while saying SA-MP is our full focus and so on and so forth. Mmartin’s inconsistency has only added to this predicament. Since the SA-MP reopening, critical issues have been raised repeatedly without tangible results. Familiar problems resurface in every discussion, often met with calls for “patience,” but this approach no longer resonates with a player base that has grown weary of delays and half-measures. The cycle of doing too little, too late continues to chip away any confidence left and drive players away. My whole point is, management is obviously not aware of the huge mistakes made in the past as they just keep repeating themselves like a broken record. That's just my two cents. Now when the server is at its lowest point PB wise, now the management makes a true effort in trying to implement the community's wishes and reach out to everybody, but it's too late imo. All of this should have been done months before.1 point
