What features do you want to see on LSRP:V?
Angellify replied to Nunwithagun's topic in General Discussions
Roleplay was never about the scripts in the past. If that were true now, we could all sit on Discord and roleplay using plain text. Like it or not, things changed and people do absolutely need scripts to roleplay. LS-RP was at its peak back then because it was the only server around doing something like this. Things have changed however, and in order to stay competitive, you do need to bring something new to the table. GTA:World at its inception was sooo bad yet it had the basics there: /me's, /do's and thats it. But if they wouldn't have kept building the systems up, the server would never enjoy the success it has now. Yes, scripts and features attract players and that also goes hand in hand with having a trustworthy and reliable staff. LS-RP:V's problem is not the script. It's the fact that most people won't be bothered to try again after N times management and staff have done a poor job with leading the server and building the community's trust. There's zero incentive for my friends that be on GTA:W to make the switch. -

I've said this before and I'll say it again: LS-RP:V's script on launch was really good. Way better than what GTA:World's cobbled together over the years. The UI and UX was great, the scripts were working, starting from zero and with a clear vision in mind showed. A few features were missing/were incomplete on launch, but as it stands today, LS-RP:V's script blows GTA:World's out the water. Unlike GTA:World, where whenever I hop on after a break I literally forget how most of the things work/where they are at and the UI and UX is a mess. The scripts and features are not the issue. It makes zero difference if LS-RP:V comes out with the ultimate diddy erp script simulator v2000 if all my friends keep playing on GTA:World. For prison factions, you need a strong player base. SA-MP relaunch at its peak couldn't get prison active (~300 players). Only way LS-RP:V can succeed is if it manages to build a healthy player base (read ~300). Anything less at peak hours and it will meet SA-MP's fate. You need a solid player base in order to be able to engage in most avenues of roleplay without the server feeling dead. So what incentives are there to play? Yes, GTA:World has its issues, but Nervous has proved himself a reliable manager and there's a reason the server keeps hitting 900 players at peak hours. Whereas LS-RP's management and staff have disappointed us and shown us they are not reliable time and time again. Still hoping to hear what the actual plan for this to actually succeed, because more scripts won't do it. -

Yeah, if you high on copium or go back to 2000s to RP. June 2023: Server was uncooked, basic QOL features missing, unfinished scripts, horrible launch, A lot of people went back to World because the server was missing a lot of features deemed necessary for roleplaying. What features I want to see? Capable management and an actual plan going forward. For the past few months everything was kept on a hush, the staff themselves seemed divided between RageMP and SA-MP and I still don't see any incentives or ways to build a viable player-base on V. -
I don't see how LS-RP:V can succeed. Any hint of faith the community had in a LS-RP:V server was shattered after the N delays and broken promises as well as absolute shite communication between management and community, as always. The launch was a disaster and you really only get one launch, there are no do overs. There's just no place for LS:RP on that scene, everybody and his dog on GTA:W. So what's the point? Why keep the community and staff splintered? Pick a course and stick to it.

Personally I think Mmartin should already start developing the GTA 6 RP server. Given his track record and the numerous delays, if he starts now he might be able to deliver on time. If not, he will be too late and Nervous will take control of the GTA 6 RP market as well. /s I don't think there are enough players that would play on LSRP:V, given the current player base on samp. I wouldn't mind playing on GTA 5 given it's a much nicer and smoother experience, but why play on a server that might get 50 players at peak instead of the behemoth that is GTA:World? What incentives are there for players and ex-lsrpers currently being active on world. How can a healthy PB be reached? I think SA-MP shows the most promise right now to at least stay alive with a decent player base.

Can we bring back the old playerbase count?

While it’s clear that some individuals have invested significant effort into the re-opening, and I can personally attest to the dedication and support provided by a couple of them, there appears to be a larger issue at play. If a ship with ten captains on board still manages to sink, it speaks to deeper systemic problem, primarily the disconnect and poor communication between management and community and the server's direction as a whole, that continue to hinder the server’s progress. The server feels as directionless as ever. The SA-MP reopening seems like a last-ditch effort to revive the community, but the lack of unified focus among the staff remains a challenge. With a substantial portion still focused on GTA 5—a venture that lost momentum years ago and has repeatedly demonstrated its lack of viability resources feel misallocated. We want to focus on SAMP, but also we are entertaining the idea of relaunching the GTA 5 server, sending all the faction leader's a google form about it, while saying SA-MP is our full focus and so on and so forth. Mmartin’s inconsistency has only added to this predicament. Since the SA-MP reopening, critical issues have been raised repeatedly without tangible results. Familiar problems resurface in every discussion, often met with calls for “patience,” but this approach no longer resonates with a player base that has grown weary of delays and half-measures. The cycle of doing too little, too late continues to chip away any confidence left and drive players away. My whole point is, management is obviously not aware of the huge mistakes made in the past as they just keep repeating themselves like a broken record. That's just my two cents. Now when the server is at its lowest point PB wise, now the management makes a true effort in trying to implement the community's wishes and reach out to everybody, but it's too late imo. All of this should have been done months before. -

Hah, good one. As always, the server is plagued by bad management, unwillingness to listen to the community and a knack of not learning from past mistakes. -

I've been trying to get some mapping added around Jefferson since (checks logs) 2019. Since the re-opening I've been PMing back and forth with Caledonite and all I got was fuck all. Even got somebody to help us out, did parts of the mapping and when we needed help with a few things, nobody could be assed to give us a hand. And then, my ideas got shut down because they don't fit with the LS theme. Thank fuck the DayZ mapping fits. And its conveniently outside of our turf, great. After seeing the 656th precinct added and mapping done in bum fuck no where near the prison, I gave up hope. God forbid one of the largest faction on the server (that struggles with retaining players btw) and is still active gets some features added in to motivate people to play even more and just add something new to the scene. Or at least checking in with us "hey guys, check out his DayZ corner yall can do shoot outs in, ya like?". Had to see the abomination through leaked staff chats. Smh. Anyway I lost all hope atp. Edit: 38St has the same issues as well. And from what I can see, the mapping that 38St did themselves and asked to get added to the server, and the shit I just seen above, doesn't fucking match at all. But I guess communication is hard in 2024. Edit 2: On second glance, thank fuck for the hobo-land corner on east LS. I bet it will get the spot jumping. Why is the mapping team hell bent on creating mapping that benefits nobody and doesn't bother checking in with ACTIVE FACTIONS ON THE SERVER? Where RP is actually being done? Where the mapping can be used most? Fking hell. -

Why is the conversation at hand about FD? FD is a niche area to roleplay in, so obviously it won't reach crazy activity numbers like PD or street gangs. Even on GTA:World, a server that has 9x the LS-RP playerbase and a lot more features added in, FD still struggles. -
og good to see u still kicking, slide thru anytime for some fun
