  1. "The Old Days" - CIRCA 2018

  2. Well I think I'll say my piece too now. I joined LSRP last year, around August-September I think, on the V platform just to take part in Bellomo's new stint. The server fell apart a couple months later but I had already lost interest after 2 weeks. Script was basically non-existent, the administration was also non-existent because no matter what you needed, you had to wait, and wait, and wait. Fast forward to a year later, I get told LSRP decided to relaunch on SAMP, big playerbase and all that. So I thought things might be better here as probably the staff was working behind the scenes for this relaunch and I gave the benefit of the doubt to the terrible run of the V server. Sadly, nothing has changed at all and it's probably evident that we (our faction) struggle with motivation to even log in. You can simply tell from our page count on our faction thread but we are doing our best to stay on track, given our real life commitments and all. There's only a very few of us coming IG and the rest can't be bothered because even if they log IG every now and then, the place doesn't cut it for them. The mentality and culture of the staff team has not changed since last year on V and some people say it's been like that even before, despite whatever excuse is brought up by the administration/management on this thread. That much I don't know, if I didn't see it I can't comment. So I gotta give it the benefit of the doubt and only comment on what I've seen so far myself. We as a faction have been passed on everything, drug scheme, strawmen scheme, melee scheme, we have a faction complex PENDING from July and when our faction leader confronted them, clearly fed up with the hold up time of 3 months, he's got told by a member of the management to "Get off his high horse". Yet the Nakahara-Kai or other factions got it months ago. Latest is a forum report I made with solid and incriminating evidence where the admin has to just say "He did fail to RP/He didn't fail to RP" by watching the videos in the evidence....That report is left there, locked, it was posted 13 days ago. On any other community you see reports handled in 3 days top. We've been harassed for months by another faction and it took 3-4 months to take action on that. Now we got passed on a business application as well, and no offence to anyone else who posted their application, Bruce Laterza's was much more well written than others and there was definitely more effort into that one than the others we've seen. And that is laughable when considering that on our illegal scheme applications (strawmen, drugs, melee) when we got passed on we were told "there were better applications out there". So speaking for myself and/or my faction here if I may: How are players going to be motivated to join with this setting of things? The answer is probably: There ain't a way at the moment. Just log in, enjoy the nostalgia project but don't have expectations. Is this ^ acceptable? I don't think so. We can all sit here and complain and say there needs to be a culture change, a mentality change to help this community to improve but unfortunately the problem is way too much radicated into the staff team. You'd have to probably remove 90% of the staff team and hire new people but then again I'm sure some of them will retain that mentality because the direction is dictated by the management and the new ones will probably become complacent. An example? Admins who are in a RP scene cannot handle their own situation if they witness a clear rulebreaking and have to make a forum report. The issue here is that the workload is so high on the admins that most of them perhaps can't even be bothered to handle small things and there's an encouragement to be lazy this way and they feel ENTITLED to it. Clearly, this directive ain't even stopping or preventing any bias, going back on the applications subject. I've been on different communities, I've been an admin myself on many platforms/communities, on SAMP I've been for years on TrueRoleplay as an admin, the server didn't have the same playerbase as LSRP, but had a steady amount of players on and it was never dropping down like it's happening on LSRP, the script was superb and interesting and the administration was swift in handling requests. This is what make people feel as if they matter and are considered as an active part of the community. I've also been on Red County RP, where I have been banned for something I never did and they knew it, but they had their agenda so that's ok. The admin team over there wasn't the best either, but some were fair, you'd get answered quick enough and the script was alright. LSRP lacks both things. The script is incredibly basic, the playerbase is dropping fast and the admin team isn't the best either, granted there are SOME who actually do their work but majority of the requests are left on read and/or pending for way too long. I have no doubt you're all great people outside of the game, but this position isn't suited for some of you if you take so long for small/petty requests and then even have the audacity to tell people to get off their high horse when they're fed up of waiting. Yeah, sure, we all have our own lives and I do understand real life comes first, but if you got the time to log in and don't want to do your admin work and prioritize your duty but just want to log in and have fun? Then being an administrator ain't for you, because you should be doing your admin work first THEN chill and have fun. Again, speaking about entitlement. If you want the culture on LSRP to change it has to change from the foundations of the community, which is the staff team. Enable the staff to have more freedom within their boundaries, remove all the useless council and assign each department to each administrator (can also have 2 on the same department and remove this rule they gotta check it up with the other before approving something, at the end of each month the management reviews their performance and their decisions and if their rating falls below 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 you remove them from the team or demote/promote them on performance, not seniority) to ease up the workload and if that doesn't change then look for new members of your administration, continue to release the script updates you've been releasing which have been good so far, make things fun and interesting for people. Give them a reason to say "I'll go IG and have some fun" rather than "Ah I can't be bothered to log in, boring/Ah can't be bothered to go IG and be unable to RP what I want to RP because what I need is being put on hold or disregarded and God knows when I'll see it." The mistake that is made is to think that the administration here needs to be venerated and begged somehow because they have a tiny bit of fame on a dying community and if we need something we don't gotta sit on our high horse after waiting for months. No, you WORK for the community, not the other way around. If you don't change that mindset, you won't have a community to moderate for much longer because people will get tired. Heavy RP server?....Where??? The only heavy RP you can encounter on this server comes from Valenti, period. You go to Verona mall on the Market strip or Idlewood, where's the heavy RP? I don't know how many times I drove past Idlewood or Verona mall and the RP was incredibly sub-par, not to mention the general OOC messages admins make IG sometimes, saying that the mass DM/trolling in Idlewood has to stop or punishment will follow. And let's not forget people breaking into your car every 5 minutes looking for guns. In what realistic world do you break into 200 hundred cars to look for guns? That's Metagame and an abuse if anything and it's becoming so annoying that perhaps if you want to contrast that, you'd have to remove the ability for players not owning a vehicle to /check and /takegun, exception made for LEOs. Do you think anybody takes any of this even seriously though? If you commit an heavy offence you get 25 minutes jail. You kick people for "Not here to RP" sometimes. We had to make 10+ reports to have some people rightfully punished when clear-cut evidence was passed on with warnings. People don't take this serious no more because you're afraid to lose people and they know it. But by doing so, you retain rulebreakers and sub-par RPers at the expenses of the good RPers who will eventually leave because the standards are not what they're meant to be. And on top of that the admins are not fulfilling their duties when they should and leave things on hold for weeks if not months. More importantly, ENABLE your community members to get where they want to be by helping them with their requests, because the moment you ignore them, you leave them on hold or you tell them to get off their high horse, you lose them. Do it once, twice....do it 100 times, what you're gonna be left with? Surely not a community to moderate, so perhaps the ones who should get off their high horses ain't the players but the moderators. Help your community to grow stronger by assisting your players with their requests. If you don't do that, you don't help them grow and you're consequently limiting your community and server growth and neither you will find it fun no more. I was excited to join LSRP SAMP tbh, get the chance to check this server out because I knew some people from other communities who always said it was heavy RP but I never got the chance to because of me being an admin elsewhere and didn't really have time for it. Needless to say that I am disappointed so far. The only thing that lived up to its name so far was Valenti. And btw I wanna say one last thing. Me and him are not friends, we've been at eachother's neck in the past but that wasn't because of me having a problem with him, at all. I've known him since 2012, however I feel I have to say something in his defence. Silencing tracksuithitman wasn't the best move @Mmartin. You can have all the reasons you want on earth, but you don't take action before checking facts and instead go on to claim it's false rumor spreading lies. Check evidence first, THEN after checking the evidence you make your decision, like on reports. To ban him before any of that was impulsive and people can perceve it as a cover-up attempt after he claimed the administration is corrupt. You're the face of LSRP and you can't afford that with the state of things right now. When you do that you push your community to believe their opinion and voice don't matter. I've read your ping-pong on here with Tracksuithitman and despite all of your reasons, you've acted on impulse, not on evidence and that is discouraging for people to see. This is what I mean with culture and mentality change. I wish I could've banned Vesci's that quick when they kept on harassing us rather than wait 4 months. Do we have to think that what transpired is that you guys are admins and if it doesn't suit you then it's ok to act immediately, but if something doesn't suit us we're forgotten and got to wait and nag to get something done? Do you see what's wrong here? Granted if the evidence he provided wasn't good you'd be in the rightful position to say "You're presenting me with false facts and have done nothing but spread rumors in LSRP at the expense of our administration. You had an agenda? Fine, this place however is not for you any longer". But to ban him before even checking what he had to back up his claims? Whether he withheld the evidence or not, he finally decided to come forth and confess on the incriminating stuff he claims he's got. You owe him at least the benefit of the doubt, considering how many times the community has granted the administraiton the benefit of the doubt. This whole thread is an appeal to you to hear us out and work with us to change things, don't let our words fall on deaf ears. Set the tone for the community and the community will then shape to it.

  3. The Barons Motorcycle Club focuses on creating a realistic motorcycle club ecosystem, one that can vividly depict the outlaw lifestyle. We encourage new-comers to join us through one of the many available avenues of interaction. We want to develop a faction that acts as an umbrella for different characters and concepts. The more diverse the characters are, the better. We want to create a community rather than a singular faction. Once you are offered a prospective membership IG and/or post screenshots on this thread, you are therefore agreeing to granting your CK permissions to the leadership of the faction. Any questions regarding the faction can be directed to cheeky or Klag.

New members who wish to join the group must first join our Discord server and reach out to the leadership and High Council via our Discord server and opening a ticket to discuss their interest in joining and to ensure they meet the minimum expectations of the group. This process is in place to ensure that all members are aware of the standards expected of them and to filter out any people that are unfit for our faction. Link: https://discord.gg/dQEwwWCTY2

  8. How to approach a gang/reasons for joining --------------------------------------- Approaching most gangs may seem intimidating, but there are a few things to take in and consider that will make it a whole lot easier and feel less forced. --------------------------------------- Take into consideration the following: --------------------------------------- The residence of your character His/her capabilities Mindset Financial situation Social status --------------------------------------- When attempting to join a gang, it wouldn’t be the best idea to try to start up as a hardened criminal or being well off, gang members are usually young, broke, and susceptible, you are either looking for gratification(to feel wanted by a group of people) or looking to come up and make money, most people who aspire to join gangs come from a dysfunctional household, with no real form of guidance. Take into consideration what might lead your characters down that path, what situation lead them down that road, and how your choices may affect where you the outcome of your character. --------------------------------------- Character development is pivotal as it differentiates authentic roleplay from just being a stereotype if you decide to start up as an already established gangster with a full-blown criminal mindset, you would most likely be ignored by the people who put the time in to develop their character or in most cases you would get checked, robbed and humiliated. Trying to become a full-blown gangster should never be your end goal either, just popping out on a random street and evolving into a gang member after a couple of hours of roleplay is highly unrealistic, taking slow steps towards becoming initiated would be the superior option. --------------------------------------- When attempting to join a gang, it wouldn’t be the best idea to try to start up as a hardened criminal or being well off, gang members are usually young, broke, and susceptible, you are either looking for gratification(to feel wanted by a group of people) or looking to come up and make money, most people who aspire to join gangs come from a dysfunctional household, with no real form of guidance. Trying to become a full-blown gangster should never be your end goal either, just popping out on a random street and evolving into a gang member after a couple of hours of roleplay is highly unrealistic, taking slow steps towards becoming initiated would be the superior option. --------------------------------------- In relation to approaching gangs, roleplaying coming from another state or city is highly unrealistic, why would somebody take a road trip or buy a plane ticket to end up in a poor and disenfranchised environment? The best option would be to roleplay being from the area, roleplaying being from another part of Los Santos could work if your character had to migrate with a relative as moving from location to location is common. --------------------------------------- The best way to approach a gang is through social interaction or being used for profit, through drugs or any other illicit item, buying narcotics from a gang member would be one of the easiest ways to constantly interact with them, sharing drugs is also an easy way to build up relationships with the people around you. Parties are usually thrown in the community and most people are allowed to attend, you may meet people there who are willing to interact and from that, you could build a relationship. --------------------------------------- I would also like to encourage linking up with people who are already in the faction and roleplaying relatives, as this is highly common in gangs. --------------------------------------- One thing that I want to point out is being creative, you have to adapt to the environment you’re in, there are many ways to interact with somebody, you don’t need a group to develop your own character and provide avenues to roleplay for the faction. --------------------------------------- For example; You could shoplift, get a couple of cigarette packs, and re-sell them in the hood for a cheaper price. --------------------------------------- Try not to limit yourself to thinking that the only way to join a gang is to sell drugs or kill somebody, gang members have been initiated through relationships, family members, music, the list goes on, you can’t expect everybody to be a full-blown drug dealer or a contract killer, some people are just cool to be around, some people fight very well and so on. Character Foundations --------------------------------------- Some ideas for your character development. Gang banging contains way more activities than just violence and selling drugs. Focus on being good at one thing, not everything. RPing your characters strengths and flaws makes roleplay more immersive anyway. --------------------------------------- Barber --------------------------------------- This character cuts hair/does hair to make a living. This character can work in a shop, work out of their home, or go to their client's homes to get their job done. This sort of RP requires some basic knowledge of hair styling in order to be executed properly. --------------------------------------- Tagger --------------------------------------- You're a banger that likes to tag up walls with spray paint, it's your thing. You take pride in embarrassing rival neighborhoods on the wall and marking your grounds with your gang-related hit-ups. It's important to you for outsiders to know where they are and that rival gangs are not welcome. --------------------------------------- Athlete --------------------------------------- This is a character that plays sports. These sports can be an escape from the gang life, something that a character does on the side, or something that a character fully strives for. RP'ing an athlete can be enjoyable because of the different paths you can take with it; maybe you suck at your sport, maybe you're a star player. Get creative when roleplaying an athlete and it can lead to a lot of RP. --------------------------------------- Musician --------------------------------------- This character is an aspiring musician. Maybe they make beats and sell them online, maybe they rap and are trying to get their name out there. Roleplaying a musician can be very unique and is something that is common amongst gang members in real life. Setting up shows, recording in the studio, passing out your mixtape, etc. are all possible roleplay events that can come with being a musician. --------------------------------------- Stoner --------------------------------------- This character smokes all day, every day. They're very nonchalant about a lot of things probably, and just want to know where the weed is at. Because of them being around weed a lot, they may sell a few bags here and there just so they can re-up and smoke some more weed. --------------------------------------- Junkie --------------------------------------- This character is addicted to hard drugs. They may be a functioning drug addict, still capable of getting their business handled and making money. They can also be a straight-up addict that is only looking for their next fix, and any money they come across is going to more drugs. --------------------------------------- Booster --------------------------------------- Similar to property theft, this character specializes in stealing clothes. They walk into various stores and steal shirts, jeans, socks, belts, shoes, etc. Maybe they work at a clothing store and steal whatever they can when the boss isn't looking. These characters sell their merchandise to others around the neighborhood. --------------------------------------- Crash Dummy --------------------------------------- A send-off kid, usually reckless and wild. This is a person that you could send off to do anything and everything that you wanted, no matter how dangerous it can turn. It's evident that this person is fueled by adrenaline, and they like it so they do whatever they can to keep themselves riled up. Crash dummies are more than likely going to end up dead or prison at a young age and are one of those types of people you wouldn't wanna always hang with because of the danger level. --------------------------------------- Parent --------------------------------------- This character has a child they care for. With this, they may be more conscious of their situation, maybe avoiding more dangerous situations due to the fact that they have a child. They may look to the gang for help raising the child or join the gang for monetary gain. Relationship - This character is in a relationship. Maybe a character is introduced to the gang because they're in a relationship with someone currently in the gang. They may have to resort to crime in order to help pay the bills with their significant other. Or both characters may be involved in criminal schemes together as a couple. --------------------------------------- 9 to 5 --------------------------------------- This character has a legal job that makes their money. They probably work at one of the convenience stores in the hood and come kick it with the homies after work. If it's a store some gang members frequently visit, they can hook the gang members up and give them discounts. --------------------------------------- False Claimer --------------------------------------- The person that wants to be from the gang so bad that he/she is willing to falsely claim a position within it. This person wants to join in on the gang because the lifestyle's appealing to them, although, there's a good chance that they wouldn't lift a finger when it comes to the gang's rivals. They're often seen excessively wearing gang colors and heard using gang terms to try and fit in. --------------------------------------- Tattoo Artist --------------------------------------- This character knows how to do tattoos. This character could work in a shop, or work out of their home. They schedule appointments, find clients, etc. This could lead to you eventually running your own tattoo business in the future. --------------------------------------- Robber --------------------------------------- This character steals things. He's breaking into homes or robbing others at gunpoint. You can recruit others to help you with your schemes, or do these missions solo. The items are probably sold online, or to others in the neighborhood. --------------------------------------- Bike Life --------------------------------------- This character loves driving preferably dirt bikes, but also BMX bikes and such. They are speed addicts and often get into danger by wheeling or pulling other stunts with their bikes. --------------------------------------- Gamer --------------------------------------- This character enjoys playing video games and spends the majority of his free time in front of his console. --------------------------------------- Religious --------------------------------------- This character is very religious and believes in god. His actions will more often than not be very hypocritical. --------------------------------------- It's not recommended to create characters that portrays an ice cold gangster from the jump. All these flaws and traits is what makes your character realistic/human. Watch these guidelines if you need some inspiration to portray your character the correct way. EXPLAINING HAT-BANGING, AND INSIGNIA, ITS IMPORTANCE, ETC. What is hat banging? Hat banging is when your represent your set with a cap, usually a baseball , or football team. This is another direct way to know where another person is from. ( If they present in a /do if they’re wearing a hat, or you ask if they are ). In certain areas, if you’re caught with the wrong hat it could be over with. If you check gang-insignias - you’d see what our teams are that we represent— if we were to walk in an enemy hood and they’d spot Hustler affiliated cap, they’d press us, or know where we’re from instantly. The same for our enemies as well— if we catch them in our territory, or spot them and recognize the hat they’re sporting, knowing what it means. (https://www.reddit.com/r/CaliBanging/comments/iyud1s/just_dont_wear_any_hats_in_la_better_safe_than/) Checking-In, Card Pulling, and Affiliation. What does checking-in mean? - If you're un unfamiliar affiliate being released from prison, or coming back after being absent for a while, you should check-in with the proper leadership according to your clique. So your identity, and affiliation isn't a confusion to anyone, avoiding issues, etc. What is card pulling, what happens if I get mine pulled? - Your card can be pulled for multiple reasons, they aren't all the worst case scenario. Often times you'll be asked to spit your handle, or the statement announcing your affiliation, (Below) , mostly when you're unfamiliar, being called out, getting disciplined, etc. If you are asked, just recite the statement accordingly.
