  1. At the minute, IFT/FTC is in dire need of change. I am hearing no positive feedback about the going ons at the minute and have been told that leads are having to step in as a result. This is also a complaint that Flip had prior to resigning as both admin and FTC. Considering the illegal factions are what keeps roleplay alive and draws the majority of the playerbase in, it is astounding that standards have been allowed to slip so far. For reference, just a month ago I had been told by badhbh that Spectre "did fuck all anyway". So now we're down to two, one of which supposedly does nothing. An IFT meeting took place where official factions were discussed; Flip was tasked with reviewing current officials, which would have likely seen FBMC being descripted due to lack of activity and standards. Barons MC was meant to be given official following the entire team being in agreement, which would have filled the slot formerly held by Nakahara-Kai. Black Mafia Family was also meant to take an open slot, then followed by Obshyak. Why have these factions still not been rewarded almost a month later when the playerbase is already in decline and suffering from demotivation? These are questions that should be being asked. Props to Dos Santos and Izumi for offering to take a stand and push for said changes, but I will hold out giving any real credit until these promises comes to fruition.
  2. The end times are upon us, made clearer by Flip's resignation from FTC. I for one am done beating a dead horse and trying to advocate.
  3. It's funny you mention Brown Pride because we had a few of their members trying our trailers every single day to check our /cmdspot for weapons during the early hours when none (or barely any) of us were IG. They've reportedly been back a few times since being killed, which only happened in the first place because I'd rather take things IC and avoid the spastic process of reporting. That is the extent of their capabilities of a faction and in terms of roleplay. I wouldn't worry about the backlash of commenting on factions because really, and I'm not trying to shit talk but rather be honest, half if not more are seriously lacking and could be classed as low budget comedy acts at best; unfortunately, we can't refund our time spent viewing like we could on money spent on tickets, though.
  4. You don't need to join a Discord to get in with crowds. The factions that publicly advertise having Discords and requiring you to join are simply not worth interacting with, but that is the minority and not the majority.
  5. 3 of those factions have been given ample opportunity to improve and have not done. Nobody's looking to get anything to go in their favour, but I'd rather see the server represented by factions that appease to the "heavy roleplay" aspect of the server. Solid and consistent members of the community have left because of the state of the server in terms of roleplay and a lack of effort from the staff team as a culminated effort. There is a reason why these factions are currently under review by FTC and that is because they are not meeting standards set out by the server. Expectations and requirements of official factions can be publicly accessed through the information sub-forum within the factions forum. We shouldn't allow standards to drop because of a playerbase decline - mass amounts have already quit due to standards not being the same and no amount of development, mapping or scripting will make up for a drop in standards. It is a kick in the teeth to unofficial factions, past and present who uphold standards when subpar displays are being rewarded with official status that serves only as bragging rights for some groups. There are many, many things that you have evidently not read into throughout the 12 pages on this topic, where things that are in fact not publicly accessible have been touched on. This can not be helped, but please do not pin the label of "elitism" on people who simply want to see the server live up to what it was and what it currently labels itself as, which is a "heavy roleplay server". Realism and heavy roleplay go hand in hand.
  6. The argument of having nothing to do without OOC connections has been made for over a decade. That is not the problem.
  7. Not once have I said anybody is "shit at roleplaying", I have said standards are poor or lacking. What I said about Nakahara-Kai could be seen as a quote, as that's what I told them - "your faction is shit" and "IFT have been reviewing you for closure since the first time". This led to them closing and thus me saving IFT/FTC the trouble of jumping through tiresome hoops that only made things more difficult than they needed to be.
  8. The whole "when we didn't have Discord we had to be IG" is a crock of shite. Before Discord we used Skype and before that we used mIRC where group chats and dedicated channels akin to Discord servers were most definitely a thing - OOC communication and instant messaging platforms have been a thing since the server began. Nobody cares about the mall. Nothing good ever came from it or the people that hung about there.
  9. The last major thing to happen around factions was the closure of Nakahara-Kai and that wasn't even an effort by IFT/FTC, it was a result of them being told they were under review and a shit faction, which led to 1x1/Ligzonton/Musashi throwing a hissy fit, followed by Joey's 'woe is me' post blaming the same people that had given them second (and third) chances despite constant outcry from the majority of the team. Schemes and FTP have recently been given new heads, which overall means little to nothing and has no effect on the server. Some admins are still showing that they're incapable of simple reading comprehension, a skill that is taught from the age of 6, given that they still cannot follow rules and limits set out by myself and still enforced by Klag. Inactive official factions are being reviewed, but what will come from it? It's yet to be seen at the end of this month, but I will outright give credit to @Flip for being the driving force at the minute, despite countless roadblocks and speed bumps that are put in the way. Filthy Bastards Motorcycle Club is still showing poor activity (and roleplay), having only revived their activity briefly after being provoked in-character; once this subsided they were once again nowhere to be seen, save for 2 or 3 members who's content and standards are questionable at the very least. We've got Blanco Longorio, the pushers of the party drug - fentanyl (yes, that's something that was said). Poor numbers and very seriously lacking in providing roleplay other than the bare minimum that we'd expect. What seemed like a pioneering faction in the beginning has only proven to be a facade. Perhaps it was only due to Faugh A Ballagh that they were ever thriving at all. The Galleani Crime Family continues to show us how not to do LCN roleplay correctly and does so with the same 3-4 faces, with the only consistent roleplayer being @HOOD POPE / Donald Sacco. Mob Piru also fails to hit standards that we should expect from a numbers standpoint. The roleplay that we've seen in the past has been stellar, but the activity struggles have been going on for far too long. The argument that street gangs are tough to maintain in the current climate can easily be negated when we look at the activity comparison with BMF and EHC. Meanwhile, FTC cannot even get together to have a meeting to make things that have already been decided on happen - if the majority has agreed on something then a voice call should not be needed, especially when there is a clear incapability to make a voice call (a follow up at best) happen. And this block of text only touches on half of the issues around illegal factions.
  10. Introducing more realistic law enforcement, legal factions and legal jobs is unfortunately not a priority and will not bring people back. For all intents and purposes, especially at this point, the damage has been done. You don't even see more than a couple of admins on at peak anymore. Staff members are complaining about the lack of activity and the fact that nothing is getting done. These developmental/script changes are nice, but LS-RP is a server which never relied on the script vs competitors. LSRP was always a minimalistic server, which pushed people to be more creative in their approaches to roleplay and, at least for me, is what helped set the standards higher than any other roleplaying community on the SAMP platform. The point being that these script changes have and will not serve to revive the server; the proof is there in these last few weeks. Little by little, the pieces of the server that are hanging on by a thread are falling. The community is failing from top to bottom. You cannot expect members to be positive or commit any more than the minimum effort when 95% of the staff team do not themselves. The most effort we've seen from Mmartin is banning my main account and painting a false narrative to censor me and others. It's all very comedic. I will always hold the community in a high regard because I've met quality people and had a good time in the 13 years I've been apart of it for, but it's time to face the facts - we are beating a dead horse and to pretend that this has not run its course would make us damn near delusional. False hope is unfortunately the driving force behind the majority of the current playerbase's motive to play. Props to anyone who is still putting in the time and effort, but this will not see another Winter.
  11. Yes, let's see people alt walking from one end of the city to the other. That's what we've been needing to achieve a true revival.
  12. There's a general feeling that tumbleweeds are flying all over the show at the minute. One step forward, two steps back springs to mind.
  13. Who dropped me? I'm still here sunshine. Nobody took Vesci seriously, just like nobody took Wayne seriously when he was in Bellantonio. Send my regards on and ask if he's still pent up about a CK that went down over 6 years ago for me, will you? If you're smelling fannies I'd bring hygiene into question. Very strange and sad group you lot.
