A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Recommended Posts

Discussions like this popping up mark the first step of a RP server taking its last breaths. The drama mongering, accusations and management's refusal to acknowledge certain things and take accountability for them is going to set off a chain reaction of people stomping their feet and leaving just because their friends did, like we've seen with GTAC and more recently RCRP (which fell from 100 players to 10 players in the matter of a week)

A majority of this thread got buried under drama about exploitative admins. Genuinely who gives a fuck? 99% of the time this happens you're seeing an exploitative person, whining about exploitative people, to an audience of yet more exploitative people; unless you live in a world where everyone has each other's best interests in mind, to which I envy you.

Management needs to focus on actual points and get real loud with addressing them. Roadmaps, updates (hopefully the last one sets a precedent for future ones, because it's genuinely really nice.), anything to drown out the "SAMP is dead" screeching and all this drama that would've probably been better off kept in a private circlejerk gc.

"Corrupt management" discussions mean nothing to the 60% of the playerbase that doesn't even have a forum account with more than 20 posts on it and giving the people perpetuating them all this exposure is the equivalent of giving needles to drug addicts.

The SAMP server will die down eventually, it's doomed to happen no matter how good of updates or community engagement you do, it is unfortunately a very limited gameplay/script that we found fun when we were like 14/15 yo, and a dead game and if you think otherwise, well you are delusional, because just like every old game that still have online servers running, it's a very niche community that's maybe feeling a little nostalgic and wants to maybe re-try some old feelings back, or simply an overly attached girlfriend that refuses to let go of a 2004yo game and move on, you will not attract new players to a dead game, the RP hype is simply GTA V and we can clearly see it with the biggest text based RP server in the market right now reaching a 1000 players on a good day and not going under 700 on a bad one.

I just hope management switch focus back on the RageMP server again before it's too late and this little SAMP server hype dies down eventually, that was the plan from the beginning, and that plan should have never changed, now we have a deserted RageMP server and a slowly dying SAMP one.

A generic opinion that's been thrown around for the last 3 years, at this point it's "QUIT HAVING FUN!!!!!" and being edgy for the sake of it. Gta:C proved that SAMP still has a big appeal to younger players and that a server in ((current year)) can succeed if done right.

The RageMP server is a waste of bandwidth I fear, the fact that the samp one was relaunched as a marketing attempt to bring people to the ragemp one and still surpasses it half a year later says enough. It's more believable for the samp server to stay alive for a couple more months than it is for lsrpv to ever surpass its competitors in the ragemp scene, I'm sorry.

I think we should narrow this down in Layman's terms.

Roleplay servers are for:  Developing characters.  Taking your time as storyline transpires.  Enjoying passive roleplay and allowing OCCASIONAL conflict to take its natural course without the headache of having to win or lose.

And deathmatch servers are for:  Shooting each other.  Winning and losing.

Easy conclusion:  Welcome to Los Santos ROLE-PLAY.  Don't like it?  Tough fuckin shit.  Go check out their DM server.  You don't like a specific someone or a specific faction?  Who cares? Invite them to the deathmatching server. Nobody cares.  Your internet reputation will mean nothing once you have actual responsibility on your hands instead of being worried about how many people you killed on a roleplay server.

People who cheat on a roleplay server do not understand the assignment.  Deathmatchers do not understand the assignment.  People may accidentally break rules, those people can learn.  And the ones who break the rules purposefully actually deserve to be frowned upon here.  And you absolutely are frowned upon by people who do understand what we're here to do.

This is a passtime for people who have actually felt sunlight on their faces, touched grass, and have some life experience they can apply to a realistic setting in a text based world.  Its a passtime for people who enjoy dialog, emotes and activity.  Not people who just want to go buy a gun and go kill 6 people because they don't think the PD are as good of a shot with an M4 as they are on a 20 year old video game.  Some of you just simply need to get a grip on yourselves.

Learn to love it or go play Call of Duty.  Or singleplayer.  Go round up a couple of Grove Street guys, go clap some Ballers to satisfy your virtual wrath.  🤷‍♂️

Beautiful.

There should be an age poll. I bet 65% are minors who can't separate real life from GTA.

lsrp = kamala harris this last election, the damage was done, everyone still playing sells guns to eachother, pretends theres a chance for samp to thrive and know eachother oocly so its bland, generic rp but as others have said itll die off eventually. The update is cool but not enough to keep this going

the players who speak out with hope are enjoying the esteem of having some sort of relevance in the server because the bulk have already left and the 140-150 left know this, but nostalgia fuel. What's even more wild is they are the loudest voices for a "vision for the future" topic

edit: 9/10 their roleplay skills, portrayal and vernacular are dog shit, but hey, server needs the #s right now

@manslaughter At one point in time, you were also apart of the 140-150 population. What’s wrong with people wanting to come together and pitch ideas to try and help the server grow? While I do agree that some areas of the server could use some improvement, it doesn’t contribute anything beneficial to helping the server grow by throwing jabs at the players who at least try, nor does generalizing everyone based off the bad interactions you’ve had. I recall your faction contributing a lot to the server at one point, but your OOC behavior heavily clouds that opinion when most of the time you’re being toxic and shooting down people’s attempts to come together for something positive.

hey, go ahead and kumbaya this shit together, im just replying because im not gonna sit here and have factions/people like bellomo and co, with their below sub-par rp who contributed nothing throw pot shots because they have the platform now with a low PB and no competition along with the favoritism to do it, all the petty bs reports from an inactive faction that rp's a lcn organization like we're in 1942 Brooklyn NY

other than that, i stand corrected. This thing will last centuries, im highly certain. keep it up fellas

If Bellomo’s roleplay is so sub-par then why does their opinion  or whatever pot shots they are taking matter to you so much that you make this topic; the sole purpose being to strategize as a community to attract more players, entirely about Bellomo? You didn’t have to roleplay with Bellomo. This favoritism you speak of wouldn’t have been a factor (so you say) in your faction’s immediate closure had you just avoided them all together.  @manslaughter

So aside from Bellomo: what do you believe is something that would attract a good mixture of well-rounded role players to the server?

I don't think we need to take lessons from somebody who was apart of The Vesci Crime Family, the self-acclaimed messiahs of LCN roleplay who made emotes such as:

• /me attends a sit down between the wops and bikers.

• /me is the boss of the Vesci Crime Family.

• /me stuffs a dollar bill in Female_Name's asshole.

I wouldn't even bother entertaining it. The only reason the focus is being shifted onto Bellomo is because of the two faction reports that were made against them, one of which they received a strike for. If they had not gone on a massive DM spree they were going to be closed the very same night following a third strike.

I am the furthest thing from a fan of Bellomo, which Curly and Sarno can attest to themselves, but The Vesci Crime Family was some of the worst drivel I've witnessed plague the faction forum in over a decade. Led by a Bellantonio reject who recently got his panties in a twist over a CK that took place over 6 years ago, it really is no surprise that they failed.

Bore off.

Bellomo here, Bellomo there, Bellomo this, Bellomo that...Grown adults being obsessed over another faction on a videogame platform from 2004, acting like some angry ex girlfriend. We are supposed to play the game to have fun in portraying a realistic and credible representation of whatever we RP, separating IC & OOC. You guys couldn't do that and in the process you lost your faction because you've let your OOC emotions get the best of you, that's what I consider subpar.

Yet you're here to hypocritically criticize the standards of other factions?

Aren't you honestly embarassed? I would be...if I were you.

Sorry, "I digress".

Back on topic.
