The Neglect of Mapping for the Illegal Roleplay Community
JesterJr replied to Dinero.'s topic in General Discussions
I remember before FBMC closed, meaning before Klag got to his position as he mentions, that IFC already approached us for mapping. We did forward a mapping request back then but went unnoticed. I'm pretty sure current IFC is active enough to follow up requests and get them done. I'd suggest factions to forward them. Look at what Barons got themselves into. Back in the day, you would NEVER get such thing for your faction (mind you, they were unofficial back then). And I'm pretty sure @drumj and people with his talent are up to help. He actually has helped me a few times with ideas about mapping and decorating. All you gotta do is ask nowadays, to be honest. But I really understand where this thread comes from since I'm too old in here to know how bad it was few years ago. -
I'll just put down my two cents when it comes to talking about staff members not replying to you the way you feel is just, remember that as you are grown man(mostly likely), there's also a grown man on the other side of the screen reading your comment. Maybe if your comment isn't hostile and given properly, you can get a proper answer back without making your discussion partner feel threatened. If your comment is "fix this cause it looks like shit", you will get a shitty reply back, and that's common sense IRL. If you are an adult as you state, I don't know how you expect someone to be so professional and well mannered for something they are not getting paid for. Hell, sometimes even when you're at work and someone talks to you shitty, you might reply back aggressively. Imagine for a gaming community. Each day isn't the same, someone might have a hard day at work and come back to do your mapping or scripting so they chill and get away from things. Imagine if that person comes on the forums after their work is shown to the community and the feedback is like the ones I read before, to a mapping that it reads with RED LETTERS on top that "It isn't final work". You really need to take a chill and think that someone, whoever that was, who took time from their day to make it - probably isn't in the mood to read your negative feedback in the way you state it, which is 80% of the times impolite and very harsh. I don't say that for something specific said over here right now, but I saw again the "some staff take things defensively". There's two sides of the coin, you just gotta put your ego away. And I hold Staff accountable for that too (including myself).

Criminals rn are overpowered. They are free to use whatever weapon they want. They can kill cops for nothing with no repercussions. They can do ambushes and whatnot, and usually just walk out of it cause cops won't bother reporting it. Detectives cannot shut down factions cause factions will start crying. But factions are reckless asf cause there's no one to punish them. So what's the point RPing with Criminals? There's countless situations where criminals kill cops on a traffic stop using shotguns, M4s and pistols, over a simple traffic stop for an insurance hit. What about this quality check? How do you battle this from your side? And mainly there's usually 1 cop for 5+ criminals. I feel like there's nothing more to nerf in the LEO side. We've become too sensitive.

LSRP is generally based on realism and is a mirror of LA for years now. There's no actual supercars used by any LA LEO agency to chase down other supercars. There are however properly modified vehicles that can and will be used on highway pursuits, which is something we can somehow put into the server by having an elite group of 3-4 drivers combined from LSSD/LSPD (although I find this very highly unlikely to happen, as we've had this discussion so many times but never gets inducted cause ppl find it very unrealistic and "noobish to have"), who will be called ONLY if it's a supercar pursuit and not in the city borders. Police in general avoids very high speed pursuits within residential areas. During a pursuit, Police is not only in charge of putting the person to stop, but also to keep bypassers & pedestrians safe etc. So, using common sense, very high speed pursuits are not encouraged by cops. They'd prefer to let the person go instead of chasing down someone in alleys using supercars. What I mean by "tightly monitored", is that these cars should be deployed only when pursuits happen in the county roads and by a selective few drivers chosen by LSPD & LSSD, seriously handpicked and trained.
-
If someone wants to cheat, they will also cheat in a HSIU unit using nametags. I'll add to what Cake said that it's also not how the whole cheater idea works. Also to contribute for the sake of the thread, I agree some high speed units could come back in the game. But very limited and restricted.

Your comments about official factions doesn't actually touch me, so I don't know why I would get angry about it. On the contrary, I fully agree that there needs to be stern and close up moderation, so I don't get why you even mention this. If you however personally think that my faction is subpar, I never closed my PMs to people who wanted to properly say their opinion, and there are cases where I actually did what they asked me to since I found it fitting to the project. But that's really off topic. Monitoring and supervising the server can turn into micromanagement very easily. At the moment you have people, both players and staff, who go above and beyond their duties and time to commit and try to bring something, without coming out on public threads to say how dead the server is, but by actually trying to keep up the activity and creativity in their roleplay. Thus creating a better environment for those around them and not negativity because they lost a (staff) report. FM right now is ran by an active IFM and it has been since server's relaunch. There were days in LSRP where IFM was a circle jerk of corrupted few who just benefited their friends and their own factions. There was a time where you had to be part of IFM to get your faction some recognition. LSRP right now gives a fair chance to everyone with it's current FM takes action in no time if you properly address something. Your last bit (listening to the community) is showcased in numerous occasions. Votes on the UCP for scripts, transparent git, updates in a fashion that lsrp never had etc etc. I'm not defending something, I'm stating the facts. And finally, I'm not making your statement look like you're attacking staff. You did this yourself if you look at what you wrote earlier. It's not what you say, but how you say it, sometimes. Calling this a "dead 100pb server", kills any efforts placed by the good staff and players you mention yourself. You kill their motivation. So if your intention isn't malicious to the server, I don't know why you would say that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you state it publicly don't expect it to just pass by without a reply. We could agree that we disagree, however.

You mean the conspiracy theory posts of how the staff is your biggest enemy which supports only your opponents without any context of what Martin Busato states at the beginning? Cause you have 3 posts in this thread, all stating how unfairly you have been treated. And of course all of the staff team hates you and handpicks admins who handle your reports and hide in our discord channel to manipulate our results, right? ... Right? Oh and of course you have Staff Reported someone, and the 4 lead admins also covered it up and laughed while handling the staff report with your solid evidence. What keeps you in LSRP then, if it's such a "dying 100pb" corrupted server without anything to provide to you? And don't tell me it's the nostalgia, please. I will find myself held accountable for answering back to you, in such a way, just because I have the green name. But it's tiring to keep seeing people talking about conspiracy theories. Do your part to make the server better. Admins are here to enforce server rules and standards. You, the players are the community. It's time to stop pointing the finger and lower your hand down. Your faction and your reports aren't the center of the universe and admins go through evidence provided and not what players will just state without anything to back it up with. Cause that's fair. Move on.
-
dmins of this community act under regulations which state that they ain't allowed to handle situations where friends, factions members etc are involved, unless there's no other admin to handle or it's a clear situation where they can back themselves up in case of a report. You can staff report your evidence following appropriate channels. Once again, you're one of the people derailing this thread.

I am genuinely asking, not as an admin of LSRP, but as a person. You really think that having public discussions of who gets official and who isn't, will make LSRP a better place? People are looking for every little bit to state something, that in the end of the day is super minor to what actually happens. About favoritism, I'll simply reply as FBMC leader. Our faction was taken through the longest ever route to Official. We had people in IFM back then who simply didn't want us to get it, which led to our faction staying unofficial for too long. What we did? We didn't cry hard. We improved what they asked us to improve and we moved on. There's no difference to what happens now. You have a very active IFM, people who actually do things daily in the server. And I'm the first one who advocated for corruption in the illegal faction team, and I still will if I realize somethings off. What I've realized? Few months ago I had a heated exchange with @Spectre. What we did? I didn't dox him or blackmailed the server. I PM'd him and we sorted it like proper human beings. Reading people who don't even play on LSRP, talking about what LSRP should do to improve, is like my grandpa who tells me how many chicks he had when he was young and how I don't get enough at my 28 years. Don't take me wrong. Your opinion is still here and people read it. But when your opinion is of just pointing a finger at the massive corruption and the greater conspiracy of LSRP, which peaks at 200 players, you really think in the wrong way. Nobody cares about holding a big meeting in a secret mountain cave to not give you official status or strawman scheme. LSRP always had politics into the game. If you ain't diplomatic and polite, you will not be liked and you won't get stuff. Like every gaming, especially RP, community. Even from the existing ones that you tend to go to when you leave LSRP. If you do things smart, you move on and as long as you don't ruin the server, you also get a pat in the back. What I see is people who lose something and then they try to bite LSRP back by blackmailing, doxxing, being rude to someone else or going on mass DM sprees on their characters. That always happened and always will happen. But entertaining it by putting it on the spotlight with these threads is just sad.

I'm sorry but this thread ain't a punching bag. Learn to communicate. Hateful comments, personal vendettas and keyboard warriors are not welcome here. Recent comments got hidden and warnings handed out, like any that will come up. This thread won't be closed down, you'll just keep receiving warnings regardless how many accounts you might make. Stay on topic. Be the person who isn't just throwing insults over the internet just because you think there won't be repercussions.

Can I use a modded handling.cfg in LSRP?
JesterJr replied to gyzo's topic in General Discussions Archive
No, this is not allowed. Doing so, would fall under the Game Modifications rule and get you banned from LSRP. I quote you the rule: -
Congratulations to all!
-
