A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
VaudeVillain replied to Martin_Busato's topic in General Discussions Archive
I really liked this post, I thought it was honest, grounded in reality and provided good feedback. I really liked that it also challenged us the playerbase. Before LSRP closed in 2021, I like many players absolutely hated LSRP staff, I would rant about them any chance I got and go on tirades on the forums. This is not because I'm a player who was ajailed a million times (I've never been ajailed or banned since joining in 2015) but because I loved the server and felt like they didn't have the servers best interests at heart. There was some truth to this, LSRP staff at the time were hard to reach, uncommunicative and would often act before consulting the player base. When the server returned, I decided to give LSRP staff another chance still being doubtful however, I've been genuinely surprised at how much more communicative, open, and willing the staff team has been to listening to the playerbase. I think a part of this was because they were forced into being this way, but I also believe that the staff team does want to see this server succeed, why else would they bring it back? Many players however, have not given the staff team a chance, I still see many players who shit on the server at any chance and refuse to turn their complaints into suggestions on the forums. I can understand why the frustration exists, like I said I was once similarly frustrated, but before you quit or log in to mass DM and get banned, I beg you to try to communicate with the staff team or post a suggestion to the forums about the change you wish to see. The server is far from perfect, there have been decisions made since it returned that I disagree with but I do genuinely feel LSRP in 2024 is a place where you can voice your opinion and be heard. Power to the Players In line with that and suggestions in the thread, I encourage the staff team to continue to pursue the opinions and thoughts from players at every turn. To see the collective thoughts of the playerbase as a tool to grow, develop and improve the server. The life of the server is dependent on the factions on it, in 2021 when LSRP died it was because just about every major faction quit in protest in a short time span. Factions are the life blood of the server, they show new players the ropes, they create roleplay and it's what the vast majority of the server logs in for. Improving their experience and working with them has to be the priority. Consult faction leaders, talk with new players about their experience, hell even poll the player base about certain decisions and directions the server takes (I know this has occured some). Don't just give power to the players on the forums or discord however, but in game as well. Within reason, the creativity and ideas of players needs to be unleashed. With such a small playerbase I see no reason why if a player has a good idea which creates roleplay and is realistic with their characters development for it to be unsupported. If a mafia faction wants to do a construction project in Dillimore let them, if a gang wants to own a strip club in their neighborhood but doesn't have the funds OOC give it to them rather than letting it sit unused, if someone wants to start a country club in Las Venturas support it. These things only help the server grow, create roleplay and improve the player and faction experience. I have never understood why things like LSGOV have been unsupported by the staff for years when it can serve as an great outlet to empower players ideas in character. -

RageMP Game Update 2.2 / June 2024 Community + Staff Update

I think this is a good self criticism and apology, one thing/suggestion I do have is trying to find ways to cater events to be things that illegal players/factions can get involved in. While we shouldn't ignore civilian roleplayers, illegal roleplay is the heart of LSRP and what keeps it afloat. I went to Wonderland and checked it out, but it wasn't a good space for serious roleplay. As an example, Wonderland could've been a local hip hop music festival set on the basketball courts in East Los Santos, inside of Glen Park or an area with more space somewhere else in East Los, Ganton, South Central etc. This would be an event that illegal roleplayers would be able to seriously roleplay with and be involved in, I also think it would've been quite popular. Basically every gang faction has a few characters who roleplay as rappers, management or the events team could've gotten some of the main gang factions involved having them send their best rappers to preform at the event. For legal roleplayers, when you look at hip hop festivals in the US even smaller ones full of local talent they are backed by big businesses because ultimately it's very profitable. So companies like ROZE could have still sponsored the event and SAN could have still advertised it. Also hip-hop is the most popular genre in the US, all sorts of people listen to it and civilian roleplayers would also be able to attend the event just as music fans. This is just a quick example of how an event could be structured to appeal to illegal roleplayers while also not excluding legal roleplayers. -
You're always going to have noobs congregate in an area, if you made Idlestacks a safezone they'd just move to Idlemotel or somewhere else.

Out of Character Information Border Brothers is part of the Mexican Transnational Organized Crime faction. If you wish to get involved the easiest pathway is to roleplay a Mexican national serving a prison sentence or through roleplaying with one of the MTOC's crews on the streets and coming into SACF. If you wish to get involved or have any questions, message VaudeVillain either on the forums or through discord.

SAN ANDREAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION OFFICE OF CORRECTIONAL SAFETY BORDER BROTHERS Security Threat Group Assessment December 20th, 2023 BORDER BROTHERS The Border Brothers are a prison and street gang that has spread across the West Coast and US Federal prison system. They're most influential within the San Andreas, Federal and Arizona prison systems. The gang primarily consists of Mexican nationals, however, they have recruited a small number of Mexican-Americans. Despite having it's own presence on the streets the Border Brothers will also recruit from other Mexican national gangs such as the 5th and Hill gang, along with Mexican Transnational Criminal Organizations. Founded in 1989 by Sergio Gonzalez-Martinez, the gang spread into San Andreas in the early 1990s, recruiting illegal immigrants in San Diego, Los Santos, Bayside, and Oakland. In 1994, the Border Brothers established itself within the San Andreas and Arizona prison systems. According to several reports the Border Brothers are one of the fastest-growing STGs (Security Threat Groups), and have the most validated members of any prison gang in the Arizona Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Border Brothers identify themselves through the letters BB, the number 22 or a jaguar-shaped Aztec warrior god’s head, Ocelotl, encircled by flames. The group operates under two distinct branches: street and prison. In prison the gang operates under a strict paramilitary structure with a President, Vice President, generals, lieutenants, sergeants and soldiers, whilst on streets it is more loosely organized. Since the mid to late 1990s, the Border Brothers have had an alliance with the Mexican Mafia. This alliance stems from the "Arizona vs San Andreas war" between the Mexican Mafia and the Arizona "New" Mexican Mafia within the Arizona prison system. In this conflict the Border Brothers supported the original Mexican Mafia and acted as the primary foot soldiers against the Arizona "New" Mexican Mafia. This alliance between the Border Brothers and Mexican Mafia extends to all conflicts outside of the long standing war between the Nuestra Familia and Mexican Mafia. The Border Brothers also have close ties with larger Mexican Transnational Criminal Organizations, in particular the Guzmán-Zambada and the Arellano-Félix organizations. According to multiple government agencies the Border Brothers will transport and traffic narcotics in the United States for these groups. Along with protecting the members of these organizations inside state and federal prison systems. IN SAN ANDREAS Compared to more well known security threat groups the Aryan Brotherhood, Mexican Mafia, Nuestra Familia and the Black Guerilla Family, the Border Brothers formed much more recently. As mentioned previously the Border Brothers first appeared in the San Andreas state prison system in 1994 at Cremenas Valley State Prison, since then the gang has spread across the state with documented members inside nearly every prison. Mexican nationals who are incarcerated within the San Andreas prison system fall into what is known as the "paisa" car. A grouping of inmates which consists primarily of Mexican nationals but also other Latin American inmates and a small number of Mexican-Americans who identify more with their Mexican heritage. The paisa car generally submits to the authority of the Border Brothers and any rules or regulations set by the gang. Due to their lower numbers, it is rare for the paisa car to be the the top car on a prison yard in San Andreas, however, Mexican nationals are one of the fastest growing groups within the San Andreas corrections system. Generally, the paisa car runs clear of conflicts with other cars, however, to make up for their smaller numbers, "paisas" have a reputation for being exceptionally ruthless when carrying out violence. In 2021, several Norteño inmates were killed during a prison riot initiated by Border Brothers in A-Block of the San Andreas Correctional Facility.
