  3. Since I contributed to some negativity on this forum about a week ago during my first impressions of playing this game I feel like I want to set the record straight by admitting that this shit is a lot more fun than I expected it to be. The initial shock of realising of how slow monetary progression is was definitely a turnoff in the beginning but honestly that feeling eventually faded by the roleplay I had with people on the server, mostly around businesses and with people in my faction but unfortunately this wasn't often since there's a disappointingly low number of businesses that offer a spot to hangout and meet other roleplayers during peak hours. With the coming window for business lease applications (which I hope is soon<3) I'm sure this matter will be adressed to some extent. Even so, I've come to the happy realization that this server is a lot better than it may look on paper and that most of the economic issues aren't that bad if you just play actively. To add, now that we get social security checks past lvl 3, we're able to focus on solely roleplaying, as just passively stacking levels will be more than enough to pay for rent + a feasible car. Not being forced to be a pro lawn-mower or sports fisherman feels really nice. . This server is honestly fortunate to have the base of loyal enthusiasts and roleplayers that it has, second to no other community in terms of quality and understanding for heavy text based roleplay. Playing here is a vibe that is hard to find somewhere else and luckily that's the biggest selling point for and old sa-mp veteran like me to stick on this server. For this reason I want to commend the admins for listening to our initial complaints and working quickly to adress issues within a reasonable timeframe. There's still a lot more to be done which the admins know about more than me but I have high hopes that they will make good on their responsibilites and perhaps even then some <3. Peace

  5. This guide will run you through all the available legal firearms so you can go into that PF license with a bit more know-how. This list will be updated as more weapons are added in the future but for the time being here is every available legal firearm and its related attachments. Please check out @matical's post HERE, for additional information about ammunition, if a pistol on my list is marked as .45 as example it can take any .45ACP ammo legally available (FMJ and JHP in this case).

  6. Honestly, you complained a lot, especially for two whole weeks, about various things, like weapon rules and illegal role-playing. This constant complaining was a major factor in why many people left. It felt like you wrote a whole book with all your complaints. Which eventually got things changed all those things you put up there you was the one mainly doing that nobody else. How many times will you create similar discussion threads about the same issues? This is your seventh general discussion thread, and it often revolves around the same complaints. It appears that you're trying to push the idea that it's other players making these complaints when, in reality, it might be you. From what I've observed, most complaints about LSRP focus on the job script, while other concerns seem less relevant. Some people choose not to play here solely because of this issue. LSRP is generally a great server to play on, but it has some shortcomings that will likely be fixed over time. However, your repeated posts won't contribute to solving these issues and might even make them worse. Personally, I haven't complained about the job script because I've easily made over $300,000, but I've rarely heard anyone else complain about things like home interiors or more roleplay schemes, aside from solo roleplayers.

  7. ABOUT The Hell Runners Motorcycle Club or the HRMC is a 1% Motorcycle Club originally coming from the Tri-State Region (New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ) and Connecticut (CT)) that was founded by Kevin Portillo and James Deckert in 1984 as a group for motorcycle passionates. The club later got involved in multiple illegal actions such as racketeering, drug and arms dealing, prostitution and arson which got them under the radar of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The New Jersey chapter was considered to be the original one, with the 5 founding members coming from that area; usually all-charter churches were held in Lakehurst, New Jersey being considered one of the more iconic landmarks for the club, with most of the members calling it the mother-chapter. At the moment, the US Department of Justice declares that there are over 500 sworn-members over the 50 states in America, being considered one of the most dangerous gangs in the US. The club is not officially a racially segregated organization, although no afro-american members are apart of the HRMC. ORGANIZATION Each Hell Runners chapter in the United States is organized in a rank structure, consisting of a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary/Treasurer, multiple Sergeant-At-Arms, Road Captains and Enforcers. Each of the existing chapters has autonomy over their members/rankings and can make local-impact decisions on their own, without permission or summoning a church at the mother-chapter's location. ((OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION)) This faction is aiming to portray a realistic 1% MC, inspiring ourselves from existing motorcycle clubs from the United States. Gaining membership in the faction is done strictly IC (In Character) and we do not condone any type of favoritism but we encourage you to bring your friends along in our faction. We strive to follow all of the rules of LS-RP and enforce them at all times within the faction. If you have any questions or concerns about our faction, you can reach out to me (@danut) or @trickster.

  8. Give illegal players the incentive to sell drugs, weapons, get in faction wars - even senseless ones (on a street gang level). Make sure they won't be punished for this or have to put in immense amounts of work so that they can obtain basic supplies to perform illegal actions (weapons, drugs, turf) - by going a bit softer on the application formats and, while not necessarily lowering the standards; but simply making it easier to get into situations with people on the whole spectrum of roleplay. Law enforcement roleplay is as solid as it can be, even though there are some inactivity concerns; I'm sure this will be resolved once illegal roleplayers start actively partaking in server activities, whether that be In Game or on the Forums (since we all know; if the amount of people chatting shit on Discord actually decided to hop In Game, we'd be breaking PB records). There are many venues of roleplay that should be promoted and supported. @Deceive has been doing an excellent job with the Events Team and has been going out of his way to contribute all the necessary efforts to give players more reason to log In Game, so I have to give credit where credit is due. We need to realize that this server can only be run if the people want a server to roleplay on. People shouldn't be shying away from joining the server because they've already got assets on other roleplay servers and can't bother to start "all over again" on this server - which is why we should be rewarding players on the whole spectrum of roleplay with the tools necessary to carry out roleplay. Business leases should be more accessible and less strict on the managing part; at some point I'm sure we've all hopped In Game at least once, roamed around when there's a "solid" amount of players online and were not able to find anyone In Game; and have thought to yourself "God, I wish there was an open business where people could just come and I'd know where to find people to roleplay with". As far as I'm concerned (this is a stretch, I admit) - literally just have a motivated member reach out to the upper administration team and have them set a spawn point and a default interior at a certain location and have them lead it as a business. The interiors and businesses don't need to be mind-blowing or anything special, as far as I'm concerned it can be "Joe's Bar" in the middle of Downtown Los Santos and have people of all backgrounds roam that area (sort of like a renowned mixture of Verona Mall and Idlestacks), and then when people feel like playing; they at least know where to go if they want immediate roleplay. We all complained about mallrats and idlerats, but, I would be more than happy to have the opportunity to interact with those and wish they'd return, so that we could maximize the amount of players online. Make ricers a thing. Vehicle modifications should be promoted way more and people should be given the freelance opportunity to pop modifications on their vehicles without the need of a mechanic through a similar thing as the scenario scheme, where you could roleplay a certain task (such as purchasing and installing new rims), and then be able to forward your roleplay to a certain team that would then review the roleplay at hand and grant you the necessary modifications if they deem the roleplay to be fit. This would help promote people researching and finding out how certain things they want done actually work and it is a useful feature for real life situations as well. (Keep in mind, I used vehicle modifications as an example here - this can vary from small weed plants, to cooking meth, and whatever other thing your character would be able to carry out on any level of roleplay). In order to fully execute the aforementioned idea, scenario schemes should NOT be restricted to factions. Regular solo roleplayers or any faction member at any given time would be able to submit their roleplay logs to a certain team which would then review and grant the player the item/modification they spent time roleplaying/researching on. We need more freedom and less admin intervention in many of the current present tasks on the server. Make robbing houses a command and have many of these rentable properties actually become purchasable properties that you would pay tax for (replacing the weekly rent idea) and create the option of purchasing different levels of house alarms so that law enforcement would be notified and be able to intervene. Make it so that you cannot /v park vehicles and they disappear into thin air, but instead they'd be parked wherever you last left them - and this would promote people leaving their illegal supplies within houses, sheds, garages - which would in turn promote burglary roleplayers - which would in turn promote a motivated circle where law enforcement would also be able to intervene if the roleplay carried out wasn't careful enough. There are so many ideas to go off in order to promote player interaction and I'm sure the development team can take a deeper look into what I said and if they're in interested in anything that I mentioned earlier, they can reach out to me personally and I can create a suggestions thread where I would elaborate in much more detail and put a poll up. There needs to be a high risk high reward system implemented that doesn't involve admin intervention. Enjoy my little rant, tl;dr - Make LS-RP great again. Thank you.

  9. Timeout so we can stop attacking each other personally!! One thing I can say is that prison times are being reworked so you will never have to spend 900 minutes in prison doing nothing again. Hopefully this encourages people to not die to avoid prison - it is my opinion that IC prison should not be an OOC punishment, but should still carry some real consequences for your character. Forcing a person to CK is not on the table as we really do not like limiting players, and especially do not want to force people to pay for a namechange. Asset removal may be, we are likely going to look at reintroducing medical bills now that we know how the economy is playing out, and will likely look into some rule for enforcing valuing your character's life outside of the existing Common Courtesy rule. I think we should be giving players more freedom and trusting them a lot more than we did on SA-MP, but there is a clear line where we need to limit that Illegal factions complained that LSPD/LSSD were constantly in their turf forcing them to do anything inside a property. We limited the amount of police patrols through gang neighbourhoods and it's turning into a warzone. This is exactly why police presence was so high in the first place, and is why it's going to return to that. I will be looking at ways to remove assets from players permanently in a way that is realistic. An idea I have is repossession of houses raided by police that are being used as stash houses - this will force players, at the very least, to avoid being detected by police. Another one would be repossession of cars used in felonies, more than just impounding it for 6 hours. Medical bills set by the government to help fund their budgets is another idea of mine, with the ability to increase it if lots of people are dying (more dying = more money). Most people do not care about their character dying because they lose nothing but time from it. That will change. We will go over this thread and potentially unlock it if we can remain civil.

  11. West Grove Street District History The West Grove Street neighborhood, locally known as the "Grove Street", is a predominantly black, low-income neighborhood in the Westside Grove Street neighborhood of South Los Santos. Originally, the neighborhood was an upper-middle-class white community in the 1940s, but in the early 1970s it began to see an influx of African Americans from the southern United States and from various countries such as Belize, Africa, and Haiti. There was an influx of black immigrants also Nigeria has also begun to expand into nearby areas. As a result of white flight, the demographics of the community changed dramatically as white residents began to move out of the neighborhood. During this time, Vietnam War veterans also returned home from the war, many of whom lived in the Grove Street area. By the late 1970s, more Hispanic immigrants began moving to Los Santos, and West Grove District Hispanic/Latino population increased to 17% by 1980. The remaining Black Panther members formed a community protection group to ensure the safety of the community. However, Los Santos considered them troublemakers and labeled them gangsters rather than deviate from their original motives. Although the first generation of the Families and Ballas groups was emerging in southern Los Santos, there was no gang activity in the area at this time. Once crack was on the streets, many elderly residents became addicted to the drug, damaging the community. After all, crime was on the rise, from robberies to drug dealing to shootings and other violent crimes. This era saw high levels of police brutality and corruption, and tensions between law enforcement and the black community reached an all-time high, often leading to the Los Santos Riots of 1992. After the "1992 Los Santos Riots" The Families And Ballas gang were the first all African-American street gangs in full effect. Early 1990s The Grove Street Families was the first gang to claim the West Grove District as their home. The Grove Street Families is an African-American street gang and one of the oldest street gangs in Los Santos, San Andreas. They are the sworn enemy of the Ballas, an intense and ongoing rivalry as part of the Ballas vs Grove Street War. The Families also maintain rivalries with the two Mexican gangs in Los Santos - the Los Santos Vagos and the Varrios Los Aztecas. Their rivalry with the Varrios Los Aztecas is not nearly as intense as it is with the Ballas and Vagos. However, both gangs will still commonly fight. They was headed by Sean "Sweet" Johnson and Carl "CJ' Johnson, as well as former high ranking members and OGs, Lance "Ryder" Wilson and Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris. They are well known, for committing numerous other crimes and violent acts including gun running/arms-trafficking, gang-banging, gang warfare, murder, robbery, burglary/theft, gang-related homicide, vandalism, and street violence. In the early 2000s the Grove Street Families would get hit with a RICO and it would lead to over a dozen arrest. The gang also stop receiving help from other Families gangs such as Temple Drive and Seville BLVD Families due to Los Santos tearing down both neighborhoods. This resulted in the Ballas too have a upper-hand and eventually taking over Grove Street. Modern Day Demographics New Age Era West Grove District is controlled by two different street gangs the Infamous Gangster Bloods and the West Grove Families. Both gangs were one once upon a time they split for a numerous of reasons most people think that it is because one clique started to push the Blood affiliations and the other wanted to remain under the Families banner. Their biggest rivalry that has been documented would be with the West Grove Families, Families set located on the West Side of Grove Street near the circle. Prior to their violent brigade, they were allied. This was short-lived after an isolated situation sparked gang warfare. It's unknown what exactly happened besides what the grapevine has to say. Rumor has it that the Infamous Gangster Bloods ran a carjacking circle and they were cutting West Grove Families short by skimming hundreds of dollars off the top of their profit. Allegedly, this leads to the death of 24-year-old Maleek Hubbard, a prominent member of the Infamous Gangster Bloods clique. In retaliation, three West Grove Families members were killed, 16-year-old Marquis Ingram, 21-year-old Kharon Likely, & 34-year-old Javarius Dayes. Most shootings occur at the local LTD gas station on Davis Street. Police believe that the two cliques are waring over it due to it being a drug enterprise. The Davis LTD has a high traffic volume and can be used as a strong hold for drug sales. Also to state that it has been a hotspot for lock dope heads. The constant feuding between the two sets lead to countless deaths on both ends of the spectrum, the most notable was the 17 month old infant hit by a stray bullet in a drive-by conducted by The Families which ultimately lead to a gang indictment on both sets. The Infamous Gangster Bloods The Infamous Gangster Bloods are know for their their grimy ways and their blood affiliation. Their members are easily identifiable as they wear red rags on various parts of their bodies. The clique started pushing the Gangster Blood affiliation due to the being friends and going to school with multiple members of the Carson Mafia Gangster Blood faction which went defunct. The young member adopted their ways along with their dialect and vernacular. Their primary focus is pimping, money, drugs, and guns. The group has multiple mobile hotspots for drugs sales now know as trap-houses and they became a gang activity hotbed due to the sporadic shootings that occurred. Just like every other Blood gang they adopted multiple beef with different Crip gangs like the Neighborhood Crip, Mafia Crips, they had off and own tension with some Gangster Crip sets. They mostly been gaining tension with some Sureños sets as well. This caused Black and Brown tension in the Southern Los Santos District. The West Grove Families The West Grove Families are not really known for violence for the most part. However due to the altercation with the Infamous Gangster Bloods they have been engaging in multiple shootouts through out the West Grove District. Families affiliates sport green gang insignia and flags. They are money driven which is the main reason why they still rock the color green. They earn their money multiple ways ranging for selling drugs to bank and credit card fraud. The gang still have good ties with some of the older members of the Original Grove Street Families. However they the older members don't engage in what the younger generation have going causing the young members to resent them. Today the West Grove Families are nothing but what you'd see on the street of Los Santos. A gang with no central leadership. A gang with no vision or goals other making money and indulging in sexual acts with neighborhood females. The older generation either incarcerated or too focused on their addiction to care for the hope of the gang's future. It left a huge gap between the original and young generation. But as the saying goes, history repeats itself. We are a fictional community with two crew who are heavily influenced by Families and Blood culture in Grove Street, our main goal is to provide high quality community roleplay and represent a realistic poverty riddled environment as accurately as possible. Keep in mind that before making your character, the community is the key. We're portraying a group of kids influenced by street-gang culture, however, if you are looking for something higher to tie it all together, this is where our emphasis on our community development and interaction comes into play. Our ultimate goal is to portray a realistic enrivonment with a community like atmosphere within West Los Santos. It is imperative that you are active to stay up to date with the conversations and topics that are present revolving the faction within the Discord. If you're coming for guns and looking to start beef with other factions, you will be removed instantly without warning. We highly encourage you start off between the ages of 12-15 and focus purely on character development for an extended period of time. We try to roleplay everything to the smallest detail while keeping it as realistic as possible. We're keeping the faction small and high quality, for any questions on how to join PM @GoonDaKilla or @MikeDawg on the forums.

  13. I think most of you are completely besides the point, saying "the server is like this because of [insert extremely specific thing or missing feature that only bothers them and 2 others]". No, the server is not empty because there are no shared illegal schemes nor is it because the phone is 2 pixels to the right, or because of some random legal/illegal feud. Adding all of these features might give it a boost in playerbase before it would return to where it is now and ultimately close. Features are not the issue and adding them won't fix anything - you can see that too, they've added plenty of stuff since this summer (which, again, were features asked for just like you're asking for other stuff now). Did the playerbase increase? Temporarily. Now it's closer to 0 than to the old peak numbers. The server is almost peaking 0 and that's solely because of poor mangement. We have a huge staff team - some truly put in effort and care, but most don't - either way they don't make a lot of impact. The ones at the very top make all the difference and they're... not here. There is basically 0 interest from management to keep this going. That's not new though, it's been clear for a long while now - that's why the project has been postponed for years. As a fellow humble dev, it doesn't take that long to create such a barebones script (as it was at launch), especially when you already know most of the features and have already implemented the logic in the samp server. Very little was actually brand new and you can easily code that on your own in less than a year (including getting comfortable with a new programming language and the framework). There's no interest. From the players either - with how bad the playerbase is, that's the only thing people should be talking about, how to get it back up, yet there's one thread and one discussion per week and that's it - and they don't really have any conclusion. The only way this project can succeed is if there's an extremely firm change in attitude, a complete 180, which won't happen. This means mmartin starts giving updates twice a day and puts in multiple hours a day every single day into developing, managing and playing. All other managers and staff hop in game, multiple hours a day, managing the server and role-playing as well. All of the players come back with a fresh perspective and start opening factions and businesses, there's complete transparency and support for any RP whatsoever, no bureaucracy, amazing quality control. Developers start dishing out new features on a daily basis. Factions become active and everyone puts in a ton of effort. Do you think this will happen considering the current state of the server and the general trend over the last few weeks/months/years? I don't. The alternatives are pivoting to another game or gamemode. We have to be objective, living in fantasy-land and saying "oh, I'm still hopeful, let's trust X and Y and wait for update 9.999, that's when they will come back" will do absolutely nothing. If we're objective, there might be a way, but it's unlikely. As it currently stands, there's no reason for anyone to return or start playing here, especially considering they now have multiple alternatives.

  14. So some things: Tapering does not reduce your cash flow, it boosts early cash flow. It's set based on cycles: trucking gets $1000 per 4 hours for example. Without tapering this is $250/hour, with tapering this is what we see now ($400, $300, $200, $100, then resets) specifically so you don't have to grind, but if you do then you don't lose anything compared to the system before. If we're going to discuss removing tapering, income is going to be cut for the earlier pays and increased for the later pays so it's all uniform. As for /work, we have /startshift and we could potentially find a script job to do this (such as a server-owned gas station) but the income would be minimal compared to joining a player-run company to encourage player interactions. A lot of stuff like /selldrugs doesn't line up with LSRP's goals so would not be considered. Robbing ATMs is coming soon(tm), for now you'll just have to rob the cash vans that refill the ATMs instead. As for the dumpster diving, this is also something I've considered doing recently - especially as we have the trash script, I would like to place random items like watches, radios, etc in these trash piles that accumulate when nobody does the garbageman job, and have it an open inventory as well so that players can put stuff there themselves. This makes things like dead drops possible, but also means they can dispose of a murder weapon in the trash before it gets destroyed by a garbageman, especially with the upcoming forensics script.

  15. Here are a couple of points I quickly thought of that I'd love for people to discuss. Some have already been listed. Player Hubs. The server really needs a hub where players can come and meet each other ICly. Mirror Park would be a perfect place for this to happen, in my opinion. It has a lot of buildings for potential businesses to open and would create a sense of community in such a small neighborhood. Tapering. Tapering needs to be reviewed as it can be a little difficult for a player to earn money. Despite us wanting to maintain an economy that seems realistic, giving the player more freedom in the money they earn would make it seem easier for them to get settled. I've had friends who left the server because earning money seemed like a hassle. It might not seem hard with the amount of businesses hiring, but we need to, unfortunately, cater to that minority. Providing a public roadmap for the community. Providing a roadmap to the player base with what the developers are currently working on and their progress would provide more transparency on the development of the server. People right now are looking at the bare-bones script and want to know what's to come instead of waiting weeks for something to be posted in the snippets channel on Discord. Transparency will show that there's "hope," in a sense. Focusing on factions. Factions are such an important and integral part of a servers growth. Graffiti was teased at the beginning of September and this is going to be a great addition for gang roleplay. House Burglary / Pawn Shops < People should also take a look at this post in the Faction Team Public club regarding a future feature that'll provide more roleplay opportunities for players. Drugs need to be worked on as well as they're just used for roleplay without actual benefits which some players are used to. The first two examples are steps in the right direction and I hope the development team continues with the great work. Faction team can step it up as there doesn't seem to be much transparency on their discussions that can potentially impact the server in major ways. Overall, we're moving in a good direction. More features need to be catered around illegal and legal factions so that their growth can continue and provide a stable community within the server.

  16. Greetings, the title is a clickbait as there's no "wrong" way of playing the game as long as you're abiding by the server rules. I am a resident mall-rat erp'r so I feel that I'm the best person to put out a mini-guide on how to make your stay a comfortable and fun one in the initial days. STEP 0: Create an account in ls-rp's UCP (https://ucp.ls-rp.com/) Complete the quiz. Some of the questions are tricky, so refer to the rules thoroughly whilst completing the quiz (http://wiki.ls-rp.com.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/) Once done, create a character (do NOT use ChatGPT!) and wait for it to get accepted (which is usually not super long) STEP 1: GETTING INTO THE SERVER Once your character is accepted, it's time to fire up your ragemp Make sure your CEF acceleration is turned off, if it isn't, turn it off as ls-rp server at the moment doesn't allow it.If you don't know how to do it then follow this Cr: @kaibr Login to server.ls-rp.com with default port (22005) and you should be able to login. Once logged in, you will be loaded into a character creation suite. Tune up your character to how you envision him/her/them (It's ok if you mess up, you can always reset character appearance in the UCP). STEP 2: SELECTING SPAWN LS-RP provides several spawn points and you can chose one based on the area your character is most likely to reside in BUT -- Chose a spawn point with the letter "R" in. This letter stands for "rented vehicles" and will save you the trouble of running (secretly bunny hopping) around until you can afford a car If you have already selected one somewhere else, no worries, you can always change the spawn point using /spawn STEP 3.1: NAVIGATING/TRAVELLING LOS SANTOS Once you have spawned, you are going to need a vehicle to move around. The map is HUGE and you won't be able to walk/run everywhere. The 500$ you received will not be enough to buy a car, HOWEVER, it's more than enough to rent one! Go to one of the blips marked in "R" (as shown above) and you should find rentable cars ranging from 20$ per hour to 30$ per hour. You can rent these using the command /rent. STEP 3.2: CLOTHES This is just a game but it's mostly filled with elitist cunts like me. So, I highly recommend styling your character with the clothes that would make sense for that character before jumping right into the roleplay-ing part. Clothes can be found in the clothing stores (duh!). They are highlighted in the map with the T-Shirt icons. (A couple have been marked below for example) STEP 4: GRINDING (MAKING MONEY - THE WRONG WAY) Alright, let's talk about the elephant in the room. The main reason why you clicked on this thread. MAKING MONEY. There are several scripted jobs available that allows you to make money. They are; - Fishing - Trucking - Trashman - Lawn mower - Mechanic [Not 100% scripted. It has script support but the amount you earn highly depends on how many clients you get] - Taxi [Not 100% scripted. It has script support but the amount you earn highly depends on how many clients you get] But ls-rp is designed in a way that your character makes more money, the more you RP. The amount you earn from these jobs keep decreasing the more you do it. So, I highly recommend NOT to fall into the trap of "grinding" unless you genuinely enjoy these scripted jobs or if it suites your character. The scripted jobs can be found in the locations marked in the map below STEP 4.2: NON-SCRIPTED JOBS/RP JOBS(MAKING MONEY - THE RIGHT WAY) LS-RP has tons of player owned business and pretty much every business is hiring ALL the time. The way the company system is designed, it will reward players for RPing in their business. Simply head to one of the businesses that is open and ICly ask around if they have any job vacancies. I know that this sounds "obvious" but it's baffling how very little people do this. 9/10 they will be looking for some extra help. Currently, the characters will be paid a minimum of 400$ per hour (which is A LOT in ls-rp's economy) for simply playing your character. Within a week, you should be realistically be able to make 4-5k provided you RP around 1-2 hours a day. Combine this with "Step 4 .1" and you should be able make more than enough money to RP your character and their motives (unless if you're RPing an extremely rich persn) without much frustration/grinding. For IC jobs, you will see postings here but the better way, as mentioned above, is to simply walk inside an open business or ask for it. You will also often see advertisements IG where players will be advertising for job openings. If a business is "open", you can find it easily on the map as they will be highlighted in green colour. BONUS INFO: This is a bit off topic but something that's better if you do it as soon as possible, that would be to get a "drivers license". You can get it in the DMV after passing a scripted exam.

  17. It's been a while, huh? Well, it's that time lads. I want to address the community, especially those unwilling to login anymore - what the hell do y'all want, and what the hell is your problem? What the hell have you not gotten? Let me get back to you on that, let me first point out to all the stuff that we have gotten. Company Team: - We wanted revised business income policy and script in order to enable businesses to actually earn money and be worth while for their owners. - We got that. - We wanted for business furniture to remain free past the first month of the server, in order not to put aspirant business owners at a massive disadvantage to others that applied for a business a mere 15 days before them. - We got that. - We wanted the ability to do /cad from our businesses. - We got that. - We wanted the ability to be paid for doing a business/in-character work that isn't necessarily the stereotypical bar, cafe and etc. (e.g. magazines, news agencies, etc) - We got that. - We cried about being unable to afford an interior designer for our sex dungeons. - Company team spawned us money to pay interior designers. - We wanted trucking, taxi and etc player owned companies that are tied to actual existing script jobs. - We got that. - And much, much, much more. The point is that the company team has been nothing short of spectacular in not only listening to the players, but actively co-operating with them for the good of all sides involved, and of course the server and it's business scene. Faction Team: - We wanted schemes, we got schemes. - We wanted more schemes, we got more schemes. - We wanted solo schemes, we got solo schemes. - We cried for even more ways to make money illegally. Introducing scenario schemes. - I personally cried for /f chat to be enabled (it wasn't intended to) because why not? We got that. - We're getting faction cars and properties on request, something typically reserved for official factions, just to "help us roleplay or whatever" - we are getting those. I'll say that Faction Team has been moving rather slow in some aspects, perhaps too slow at times, but you have to give credit where credit is due, and we really did get a lot of stuff/most that we have asked for. I dare say we even got a lot more stuff from the faction team as random, 1 month old factions that normally roleplaying servers are accustomed to giving. These two teams are the backbones for helping create for players, or helping players create for themselves and for others. What the hell have they not given you? Property Team: - Y'all wanted the ability to request properties, interior changes, exterior furniture for businesses, outdoor script support for businesses and all that kind of quality of life cool stuff? Well, you got all that. And from what I can see in the forums the proprety team is getting shit done in an extremely timely manner. Economy Team: - Y'all wanted for the hardcore economy to be toned down a bit, for pay to be buffed across the board, for automatic paychecks to be added. What the hell have you not gotten? - Do you want /everything/ for free? If you're still broke, then that is because of your own self. There are /more/ than enough ways to make money. You can sustain/own an excellent car and a home at a great location for virtually doing nothing (no in-game work) but online time. Now, if you want to actually be rich/resourceful - you have to put some work into it. What's so wrong about that? General Administration: - Myself has been one of the most loud whiners about the general administration and the urgent need to crack down on all the stupid shit, poor escalations, deathmatching and etc in-game. All of that has been done in case you haven't noticed. I mean, come on, Tony Bilmain has been banned. I still feel like there is a lot of room to grow in that direction, but it should be obvious to anyone who cares to look that the general administration has been looking to crack down on stupid shit, or quite frankly have been getting sick and tired of stupid shit themselves. This is a win. Development Team: - Ah shit, here we go again with the development team being the villains, and the script being barebones as fuck. Unplayable? Innit? No, it is fucking not. Yes, the script is raw, but notice all of these cool things that we have gotten above from a variety of staff teams. More than half of them needed the development team to put in the work to enable the ability for these other staff teams to give us these cool things that we wanted. Yes, the server released with a script that didn't live up to expectations, but we have for the most part gotten everything that we have wanted since then, and the development team has been the key player and the fire starter in making sure that we do get all that we wanted. - So, what the fuck do y'all want? The lack of a hunting script is ruining the LS-RP experience for you? There's quality role play going on into the server. If this does not retain you, nothing will. Now it's time to expand on the original subject of the topic and just the above development team rant that I have written. Do you remember when roleplaying was about storytelling? Creativity? Imagination? Do you remember when you didn't need 9000 features/scripts to babysit you for you to have fun roleplaying? Do you need for an automated robot/script to do /everything/ for you? I'll ask again - What the hell do y'all want? There is great role play going on into the server. If this doesn't retain you - then absolutely no script feature will. Isn't this a roleplaying community? Are you not here to roleplay? Do you need for an RPG-esque system to hold your hand or even - do everything for you? This truly is an age of 100% self-entitlement and 0% self-accontability. Everyone wants everything right now, but doesn't want to do anything about it. Understand that, even with all the scripts in the world and paid developers working 24 hours around the clock - this server is only as good as it's communty. The staff can give us the tools (and they have been giving them), they can't use them instead of ourselves. If everyone sits on the outside and waits for LS:RP to become a better place before diving in, then it will never be. Be the change that you want to see. And this is coming from someone who has been hyper-critical of staff on many ocassions. And for staff members who are on LOA here while playing GTA:W - Please step down.

  18. I'll be completely honest I'm not even going to read the replies on the topic because it's been the same old song since late SAMP days. Before V, LSRP was the powerhouse roleplay community but everyone seems to forget why. It helped to have the most developed script but it wasn't the reason. It was a reason. The moment V came along that's where most of the target audience went. They would swap the most developed script in SAMP for a barebones script in V because it was the future. The main reason LSRP became the powerhouse roleplay community in SAMP was everyone could roleplay what they wanted to roleplay (and I don't mean having the money). The only questions we should be asking ourselves and everyone else is: 1) What's LSRP's target audience in terms of roleplay quality? 2) What does everyone want to roleplay? What do they want to do in LSRP? 3) If what they want to roleplay/do in LSRP doesn't match our intended target audience and roleplay quality, leave them be so long as they don't break rules and bother others. If they want to have shootouts in Davis, let them. If they shoot up a business over an argument, ban them for DM. Simple as. A lot of people seem to think everyone's idea of roleplay has to match theirs. It doesn't. The beauty of roleplay is that everyone has the creative freedom to express themselves through the character they choose, and the scenarios they create. If it happens in real life, it's realistic. Just don't overdo what would be extremely rare. 4) Figure out what players truly want to roleplay/do on the server, and if it happens in real life take immediate action to make it possible. Do you need a rule change? Do you need a policy change? Do you need a script change? What's the [x,y,z] that players need to roleplay? That's the most important part of building a community. It's never about ”how do we get more players?” it's about ”how do we make/keep current players happy?” That's what's going to attract more players. The second part is balance. If player A needs a rule change to roleplay X (which would realistically happen in real life) how do we balance the rule so that there's equal opportunity and counterplay? If you provide certain factions or players the privilege of guns or drug supply, do they deserve it and are they going to use it in goodwill spreading it around to other players who want them? You should literally be asking groups of players for feedback on a regular basis. Gang roleplayers, OC roleplayers, MC roleplayers, civilians, governmental, legal: what do each group need to have more opportunities for roleplay creation, and how do we give it to them in a balanced manner (relative to other groups of players)? Are gang roleplayers happy with the current state? Are MC roleplayers happy with the current state? That's real progress. Otherwise, you can go in circles talking about this is a problem, that is a problem, but you need to have a vision and mission statement for the community, take the necessary steps to build and maintain a community, increase community engagement, listen to feedback, put the right people in positions of team management who know what they're doing. Otherwise, what? You're never going to find any competitive advantage compared to certain other servers in the landscape and continue to ride out old nostalgia.

  19. KRAZY ASS MEXICANS Krazy Ass Mexicans - from taggers to an active street gang, located in South Central units which were established in 1958 and came to attract residents from different racial and ethnic groups. The KAMsters were going at it with older established hoods and ended up carving a territory the hard way, they're known for throwing up some dope hit ups. Their hang out spot is shaped all the way around the South Central units, by the parking lot. Rivalries Like many street gangs, the Krazy Ass Mexicans have rivalries with a lot of other gangs, particularly those located in nearby neighborhoods. The gang culture often involves territorial disputes, leading to conflicts and violence. Criminal Activities Gangs like the Krazy Ass Mexicans are known for engaging in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, robbery, and violent crimes. The gang's activities contribute to the broader issue of gang violence in affected communities. Community Impact The presence of gangs, including the Krazy Ass Mexicans, has had a significant impact on the communities and units they kick it at. This impact includes increased crime rates, strained community relations, and challenges for law enforcement in maintaining public safety. Law enforcement agencies work to address gang-related issues through a combination of prevention. The specifics of the Krazy Ass Mexicans' history and activities may vary. THE RUTHLESS STORY Gang violence has consistently plagued Los Santos throughout its history. The Los Santos Sheriff's Department initiated Operation Safe Streets (OSS), a task force aimed at addressing this issue. A member of the Krazy Ass Mexicans gang, known as Ruthless, approached the East Los Santos Sheriff's station in a state of panic, insisting that someone was trying to harm them. However, deputies dismissed the concerns, attributing them to drug-induced hysteria, focusing more on determining Ruthless' substance influence. Gang detectives conducted a search, revealing a tattoo proclaiming allegiance to the Krazy Ass Mexicans gang under Ruthless's shirt. Curiously, Ruthless, despite being a gang member, disclosed that they had been providing information to the LSPD. After a recent murder in the Sheriff's jurisdiction, Ruthless was introduced to an LSSD homicide detective. Sharing insights from the streets, Ruthless became an informant for the Sheriffs, helping uncover details about a KAM gang member attempting to dispose of a murder weapon, a shotgun, for $50. Facing financial constraints, Ruthless struck a deal with their heroin dealer, promising a gram of high-quality pot and heroin from a Paisa. The stakes were high, with the drug dealer threatening dire consequences if Ruthless failed to deliver. The police offered a solution: exchange the murder weapon for monetary compensation. However, when Ruthless went to collect the reward, the detective informed them that the murder suspects had already confessed, leaving Ruthless in a precarious position. Arrested by the LSPD for possession of a gun, Ruthless, formerly an informant for the LSSD, found themselves in a complicated situation. Released from jail, they were soon assaulted and kidnapped by enforcers representing the drug dealers seeking payment. Bound in an upstairs apartment, Ruthless was injected with heroin. Upon regaining consciousness, they managed a daring escape, leaping from a second-story window. Returning to the East LS Sheriff's Station, Ruthless shared the harrowing experience, but authorities were skeptical, assuming it was another drug-induced tale. Having severed ties with their dealer and betrayed their gang, Ruthless, inadvertently set up by the cops, was advised to stay in their KAM territory. Tragically, the following morning, Ruthless was discovered dead inside their home.

  20. I keep coming back to this thread to read what everyone is saying. @Mahitto and the others said many valid and good points, even if their words seemed harsh but they're coming from a good place, hell even @SCANDALOUZ who was labelled as a whiny boy was actually saying what he said because he wanted the server to succeed, we all do, we really do. The server had a shitty launch, bad luck and some questionable management moves, but that shit is over and we're past that, we should focus only on the future of the server. Right now, the the server has decent features, scriptwise and in general, alot of the IG issues players complained about was in fact adressed and either are implemented or being worked on right now... Yes alot of players if not most of them lost interest in the server, even staff, and you can't blame both, players have nothing to do with no one in the server, and staff cant do their duties with no one on the server - but don't get me wrong, if you message most of the staff to hop IG to help with something they'd, best example of this is @izumi, which shows that most of staff still want to help and improve the server and player experience. I know @Mitcholodolo is coming up with brand new ideas for the illegal side of RP, and he's taking feedbacks and actually gives a shit, which i appreciate him for doing so, the lead and management are now easily reachable, via forum or discord, best examples are @Nature @Dos Santos @ImperiumXVII @Superb, testers too have and still put work in the server by helping new and old players, by doing forum work, and actually reaching to players to take their feedback or explain stuff to them via DMs, shoutout to @CYBER and @Deceive Even old players who started playing at launch and still hops on time to time to provide RP to the server like @HIVE.MIND @livid @AlmostDegen @MAK0 @kaibr and many others, they still find motivation to hop in, because we all know the potential of the server if it succeeds especially with the developement of the features shoutout to @java habibi and @ImperiumXVII for putting insane work to make the server more polished and enjoyable by everyone. In my honest and brutal opinion, the server is in need of alot of things, and no not script or more features, the server needs a REBRAND, server needs actual engagement of the management via more community meetings, reinsurance and update posts! even tho they still work in the shadows, players need to feel the presence of the management. Server needs to build up hype again, server needs good and aggressive marketing on all platforms. Since i have experince in this field, i propose this: 1- Rebrand the server to "Work in progress" 2- Visual marketing like videos to be pushed on social media with tags. 3- Spread the word out by showcasing the new features in forum posts and in videos that will be posted in YT channel. 4- Do like other games do, see what the competition is doing right and take notes, it's okay to copy something from them and alter it to the server/players needs. 5- Admins and staff need to be present IG, they should be playing the server and providing RP. 6- Transparency and communication, although we all appreciate the team sending out surveys and taking feedback, there are still some points to be worked on when it comes to transparency and communication. Like most of the other players, i tried other text RP servers, i still dont feel like i belong there... maybe i'm high on hopium and copium, but i still belive in the project. Let's move on and focus on the future.

  23. Most people have never experienced that, so trying to appeal to nostalgia won't have much of an effect. In fact, it's one of the issues. The problems of the server started before it was even open. The powers that be seem to have thought that just bringing the brand back would've been enough to get former players to abandon other communities and go back home. Unfortunately this was the most wrong of assumptions. For one, after 2016 LSRP lost most of its original appeal, as it had turned into a jumbled mess of OOC connections, user infighting, complacency on behalf of the staff and staleness on behalf of the players and thus most émigrés had no reason to come back other than temporary curiosity. Additionally, the playerbase of other communities isn't composed exclusively of LSRP refugees, and those players who have never heard of it have little reason to check a server that offers a tenth of the features for no other significant gain. The economic system is good and the idea of having people buy things on credit is both very immersive and realistic in theory, but the scripts surrounding it have been designed backwards, in a way that actually discourages roleplaying around script-based jobs and fosters a mentality of grinding. The trash job works like a single-player mission that forces you to go from point A to point B and then repeat the same action 10 times instead of being a multiplayer system so that multiple players can roleplay a sanitation crew and, you know, roleplay while earning. The trucking is likewise not focused on actually roleplaying by having players share routes or some other similar framework, it instead encourages players to rush like a lemming to earn the most. There's no system that helps players to create roleplay hubs by simply existing while also earning a few bucks (i.e. the 24/7 job system that other communities have). In short the job scripts seem to have been teleported straight from 2010 and there's nothing, or very little, that's scripted to earn money while roleplaying with other people. But not all scripts are bad. Law enforcement scripts, for example, are quite advanced for a server that has launched not so long ago. Unfortunately not even half of the effort that was put into scripts for LEO factions was put into scripts that cater to illegal factions, with the end result being a noticeably unbalanced situation that definitely soured the illegal roleplayers. There's no reason to engage in the most common types of trafficking since narcotics have no effect and there's thus no market for them (since yeah, roleplay and all, but the people who use them just for roleplay can be counted on the fingers of one hand), and weapons appear to be a dime a dozen for criminals (and unbelievably expensive for legal roleplayers, which contributed to sour that share of the playerbase). Like it or not, the majority of RAGE MP players are used to having heaps of scripts to use as a crutch in their roleplay and thinking otherwise is just foolish from a business standpoint: you can do just fine without them, just don't expect to have enough of a playerbase to support the server. And even leaving the scripts aside and focusing on the storytelling, another major issue is that nothing was done to combat the staleness that affected SAMP's LSRP, it was doubled down on instead. This wasn't the fault of whoever is calling the shots only, though, as the West Coast has been used as backdrop for 15 years straight and there's very little that can be done differently, but even what could be done differently wasn't even taken into account. The lore and storytelling could've been the saving throws of LSRP, given that its main competitor seem to think that trying to create lore is a capital offense, but the LSRP mythos, despite having 15 years of SAMP history that could've been tapped into to create an immersive history, are reduced to three paragraphs that use the standard "we're just SoCal, but with some NorCal in an area of the map no one roleplays in". There's just nothing, in terms of factions or concepts, that can entice players because it isn't found anywhere else. The most obvious example is the legal faction panorama, that could've started with some fresh ideas that hadn't already been beaten to death in LSRP's previous instance and other communities but, no, you decided to go again with the tired LSPD/LSSD combo, which players can already experience in any server set in San Andreas, instead of ditching one of the two in favor of something new such as the SAHP or one of the half a dozen smaller police agencies that operate within LA city limits, and then you topped it all off by making both extremely bloated in an effort to be "realistic" instead of starting small and growing along with the playerbase. And then there's the complacency, which is perhaps the biggest issue of all. If you want the server to succeed you just cannot afford to be complacent or disappear for weeks on end only to pop up with a half-assed apology promising you'll do better in the future. The competition is many things, but complacent isn't one of them. You cannot possibly expect to pile up broken promise upon broken promise on top of a brand that is already greatly devalued since its heyday and get away with it. You need to set a vision of what you want to achieve roleplay-wise and stick to it, not jump from update to update and make it up as you go along. Either take it seriously and make justice to the banner you're under or call it a day and let people remember LSRP as the shining city on a hill that it once was. P.S. for the Panda's surveillance team: see, you're not that special, other management teams need guidance too.

  24. So, here we are again... The topic of Consequences has been approached from nearly every angle. It's time we discuss it from the perspective of realistic solutions. I ask that participants in this thread remain civil, because the staff has locked many such threads after only one vitriolic reply. I'd like to begin with a series of assumptions I am making about the state of how Criminal Justice works with Los Santos Roleplay. LSRP used to have a system of "days in prison" for offenses, circa 2011 and earlier. We changed to a system of "minutes in prison" around 2011 or 2012 because many players were spending their time primarily offline. This coincided with the creation of the DOC faction around 2011 or 2012, since Corrections was now a viable means of roleplay. Currently, we have a system whereby a person can go to prison on charges and sit there AFK or semi-AFK or use a laying animation in their jail cell bed until they're out. Seldom do people roleplay in Prison, and when they do they do so with no fear of consequences. Going to solitary is no true punishment, because it's just a place where they can AFK with no chance of anyone trying to roleplay with them. There is an incredibly unrealistic amount of felony crime happening in Los Santos. It has been quipped by many that such levels of crime would immediately lead to Martial Law, and it's hard to argue with that logic. People murder, rob, and deal drugs and all they really suffer is a type of OOC time-out in the State Prison while they edit the screenshots or video footage from their last gun fight or brawl. Rather than face the consequences of prison or jail, many players would simply prefer to turn and shoot at the police - even for minor offenses such as traffic stops. The server administration has permitted this to get out of hand, to the point where it has become status quo. The excuse people use constantly is "it's just a game", "I just want to enjoy the 2 hours of free time I have", and so on. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What can be done? "Without Rules, we are nothing but animals." -Socrates "There are those men who say to repay evil with kindness. But I say, how then are we to repay kindness? Repay kindness with kindness, but repay evil with justice." -Kong Qiu Only with an understanding that there is a problem with the way criminal justice works on Los Santos Roleplay do we have even a shred of hope in fixing it. I have a four part proposal that I sincerely believe would fix a lot of the problems we are facing. First, change "minutes in prison" to "days in prison". This will incentivize roleplaying in prison because you cannot AFK for multiple days in a row... plus, that's boring. In my view, if you want to roleplay as a criminal that should also mean roleplaying in prison when you are inevitably caught. Of course, the alternative to roleplaying in prison is always be better at crimes and don't get caught. Second, add pleading to the jailing process. When a person is taken to jail by a law enforcement officer, the jailed player should be given an item in their inventory that states the charges. This is known in real life as the "rap sheet". It would allow the player to carry their sheet with them through the process, and to always know what they are charged with. Additionally, they should be shown the following two forms: (1) a rap sheet; (2) a pleading form. When a person pleads not guilty to at least one charge, they will receive indefinite imprisonment (time does not decrease for the charges they plead not guilty on). Additionally, the District Attorney's Office is notified via Discord that they must file the charges as a court case. If they don't file the charges within a few days, the person can notify the court and be released immediately. Third, add bail to the imprisonment process. If a person pleads not guilty, they will receive indefinite imprisonment until they win their court case. If they have pleaded not guilty to everything, and there are no charges that prevent bail, the person can bail out by paying the fee for the specific charge. In the example (left), the charge of First Degree Murder prevents bail so this person would not be able to bail out. However, most charges other than Rape, Murder, Terrorism, etc. will have a bail amount that is potentially very high. This serves as a "way out" for people who want to go back to their gang life immediately, or who sincerely believe they didn't commit the crime. If the person is found not guilty by the court, they will get this money back. Fourth, add life imprisonment after three convictions for felonies. If a person is a career criminal, they should face life imprisonment. Unless they are convicted of certain "no parole" offenses, they should be able to earn parole at the discretion of the DCR faction. For this, I am not saying if a person is taken to prison once with three felonies -- I am saying three separate times going to prison with felony charges, and either pleading or being found guilty of those felonies. This can be a pivotal moment in the character development of any illegal roleplayer, because it can have major effects on their gang. If the leader or multiple members of a street gang become "three strikes lifers" that might severely weaken the gang and open them up to attack by a rival. Why does this need to be done? One common response to these sorts of "ultra-realism" suggestions is "it's just a game", "I only have 2 hours per night to play, I don't want to waste time in prison"... Roleplaying is not just about the stories we want to tell with our characters. Instead, it is sometimes about the stories others tell with our characters or how all of our collective character stories fit into one larger "meta-story" of the whole LS-RP universe. If people are not willing to see their actions all the way through to the end, they shouldn't take those actions. If a person wants to roleplay a criminal, they must roleplay the whole life of crime and not just the parts they want to. Roleplaying as a criminal means facing that character facing the consequences of crime. Of course, people could still roleplay their characters having no fear and shooting at the cops but that is a separate issue to this one. This suggestion, instead, seeks to solve the problem of unrealistic amounts of crime. The Boyz n the Hood style of roleplay ought to have steep in-character consequences.

  26. Just bring back old system. You guys are forgetting, we are LS:RP. How many people over here had millions sitting in banks and we used the funds to create RP, using cash to purchase properties, furniture them for sick ass vibes and all that. We don't care about money, we just use that shit to create more possibilities. When I was running Russian scene on SAMP, I'd have my crew scout some cars and snap pictures of them. Pass it over to me and I'd forward to other organized crimes that were my business associates. They'd get back with me with the car they liked and my crew would jack that ride, we'd RP the entire process of document, VIN swap and all that and after couple days of RPing in garage doing all that, I'd buy the car from DS and sell it half-price to the OC affiliate. So if its elegant that was 120k, I'd sell them that for 60k, but I'd just raise up prices of gun/drugs for a little while until 60k would be paid off, but that would take even up-to 2-3 month for them to slowly pay it back to balance it out, but core point is...we used money to create sick RP instead of grinding/waiting for cash for months to create more RP. Don't forget the important factor that, lots of us are older these days. This ain't 08-2016 where we were young and had plenty of time on our hands, majority of players are probably mid 20's right now and when you wanna come IG to be able to do epic shit that you been doing on here since 07-09 and etc... grinding for cash from beginning is pretty harsh. If not, at least give us good cash boosts. Let people get back on their feet , get some vehicle, property and such. Because expecting everyone to follow "realistic" economy is harsh, because end of the day. Economy will still get fucked up, it's just matter of time. Multiple servers across all platforms tried it, but end of the day. It's a game and nobody wants to grind. On LSRP we got standards, there's special thing about us and nobody gave a shit that you had couple hundred grand sitting in the bank. 80 percent of people RP'ed broke or fitting their characters-RP developing assets, nobody proper RP'ed having mils in their bank. How many gang members out here had millions, but RP'ed broke as shit, but used the funds to purchase vehicles, get properties mapped out so it feels enjoyable to RP around whole hood scene...

  27. On the flip side to that, I actually put on my CV that I worked for LS-RP for 2 years doing TypeScript, dealing with both SQL and NoSQL databases, web frameworks and NestJS, and I got a fair few offers of employment off the back of that. I would never accept pay for work on LS-RP though, as being paid means having an obligation to deliver. My only obligation to perform well in dev for LS-RP is to myself, and if I'm paid, suddenly I become responsible for delivering a product to deadlines and I don't want that. I would rather not be paid and have the option to not spend hours on it.

Achieving this balance requires far-reaching vision and 24/7 commitment. From revolutionary air quality initiatives and numerous efforts to incorporate alternative fuels to reduce fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, the Port is on the forefront of environmental change in the port and maritime industries.

  30. This definition sums up modern day roleplay. A focus on hyperrealism and an overabundance of scripts gradually replaced storytelling, lore and worldbuilding. Committed roleplayers dedicated to creating fictional stories with just /me and /do were chased away in favor of people who spend their entire playing time chatting on TeamSpeak or Discord clamoring for more script support, staff oversight and advocating for their own skewed conception of "realism". Immersive storylines that lasted months and involved dozens of characters have been substituted with a bunch of disjointed, episodic vignettes completely disconnected from each other that are considered "high quality" only because they're based off an L.A. Times article or feature some obscure LAPD term among hundreds of lines of shallow dialogue. Roleplay has turned from a concerted effort to build something unique into a disingenuous exercise to see who can make the edgiest character. If you have a stroke of luck, you can still find a (likely extremely small) group of players who still have the old mindset and make something up with them: chances are it will not last because of staff interference, community hostility or some other OOC tampering. But especially if you don't, if you're a new player or a returning one who doesn't have the right connections, then you're condemned to wander among the hundreds of shallow avatars, club goers, cop LARPers and other assorted one-dimensional, cardboard cutout concepts that pass as characters these days. The only thing that can bring people back to LSRP and the kind of roleplay it once offered, at this point, is a time machine.

  33. Management and Administration Admins are, have been and always will be chosen on the basis of some bureaucratic selection process and out-of-character networking which results in those with the most connections and/or ability to file an application in the best way possible, not those who are gifted at roleplaying, to be appointed to staff positions. This is due to a variety of factors, not least the fact that most of those whom you could consider good roleplayers are here exactly to do just that, roleplay, and not get embroiled into some senseless web of Discord politicking or endless talks about "quality", "standards", etc. that ultimately serve only to stroke someone's ego. What management can do, however, is fostering a mentality where those who are ultimately appointed carry out their duties with humility and with the intent of teaching rule breakers, rather than wantonly punishing them for the sake of it and assuming they know better than the rest of the community by virtue of their forum name being colored differently. Make it so that those in a position of responsibility keep an open mind when it comes to player requests and allow them to use their admin abilities to help the players create interesting scenarios instead of immediately shutting these ideas down because they don't fit some made-up criteria. Grinding and Scripted Jobs Despite this having been noted before, the scripted job system still is scripted backwards. Scripted jobs that should be a magnet for new players, make earning a salary easy and encourage random encounters (i.e. two truckers sharing a truck for faster unloading or a route to the same loading spot, two garbagemen randomly meeting at the landfill and going on shift together) are instead designed to be as complicated as possible with almost zero guidance, offer no way of long-term sustenance and purposefully keep players separate. Staying AFK two hours nets you the amount of 20 garbage trips around the city while offering an arguably better experience in terms of roleplay. Why would anyone waste their time engaging in something that isn't entertaining in the slightest and with no interaction with other players when they could simply leave their PC running and obtain the same reward? What Makesde LSRP Great What made SAMP's LSRP great was creativity and risk-taking. What makes RAGE:MP's LSRP a failure is the fact that it's the same soup as everywhere else, just reheated. At its peak, LSRP was LSRP because everyday was an improvement over the day before. There was a constant search for something new, there was innovation and players were not afraid of trying out new concepts or creating organizations completely from scratch. And it worked, until the powers that be decided that making a 1:1 model set of the biggest failure of a State in the Continental US was the new golden standard, at which point any and all attempts at exploring new avenues were promptly shut down and people settled into this California Dreamin' mindset where if you dare to do something that isn't "backed up by sources" you automatically qualify as a "bad roleplayer", as if roleplay meant copying things from government organizations websites or acting out your favorite gangland documentary in-game. There's already a community that does just that, with far more advanced scripts, so for LSRP to follow into the same path was a disaster waiting to happen. It's genuinely appalling that no one ever questioned whether this was a good idea, especially in light of the server's long and tenured history of taking risks that ultimately paid out, making it the premiere English-speaking server on which to play. Faced with having to choose between two similar servers, players obviously flocked towards the more advanced one. LSRP's chance to succeed was at doing the opposite and coming up with new ways to keep the setting interesting and fresh while also maintaining a certain degree of immersion (San Andreas still is a state on the US West Coast, gangs of Liverpool hooligans still are outliers that shouldn't be allowed). LSRP's management decided to not take the opportunity and now the server is paying the price for that. It's not too late to steer the ship in a different direction, but you all need to take a bit of pride in LSRP's history and remember what it was that made 600 players play every day. Player Trust and Communication Speaking of which, LSRP used to cater to such a large playerbase because the players mostly trusted the administration and felt they were approachable. Crooked admins, people who got their staff position through questionable means and outright malicious administration members were a staple, but the majority of the time there was strong forum communication and discussion between the regular players and the staff. This constant communication and discussion made it easier for players to accept a delayed script, an unpopular decision, a lagging in development. Admins, leads and managers would often show up in general discussions and throw their opinion into the midst and, in general, would keep the players in the loop as to what was going on behind the scenes. It created a good sense of community because even if the divide between staff members and regular players was always present, it gave players a voice and made them feel like they could trust those in charge to listen to their opinions. This attitude started fading in the days of post-2016 terminal stage LSRP with the restriction of important discussions to a bunch of selected individuals only, and eventually devolved into what it is now, with a post once every blue moon detailing things that may become a reality at some point, passing through the multiple instances of the server being delayed while the staff was incommunicado. You could argue that this lack of communication between the higher-ups and the playerbase is common on LSRP's main competitor, too, and you'd be right, but LSRP doesn't run itself like the opposition. The LSRP brand doesn't mean anything anymore to most people. Whatever fidelity was built between 2007 and 2021 is gone. Player trust at the moment is more or less at zero. Yes, there is a constant base of holdouts that show up everyday and play on the server and keep it alive, but it's not sustainable long-term and anyone telling you otherwise is outright delusional, and everyone else, people who left for whatever reason, are going to need a little more than an announcement saying "times are tough and we need to do better" to come back. For anyone thinking there was no mass exodus, the server opened with 300 players, which were down to 150 about a month later, which were down to 50 yesterday. The steps taken by @Dos Santos to keep the playerbase in the loop are good, but a "mistakes were made" post every once in a while is not going to change things, and neither are going to be snippets of server features posted on an obscure Discord channel of a server whose notifications most people likely turned off or who have never joined it in the first place. Set and illustrate a vision for the server, both in terms of roleplay and when it comes to features. Explain what you aim to achieve within the next six months and what possible hurdles are on the way so as to prepare the players in case you don't meet the deadlines. Liaise with factions and players and make sure they have what they need to roleplay what they want, don't wait to be approached, and don't let concepts be restrained by some artificial standards that only stifle creativity. Make these things visible to everyone on the forums for maximum impact. It's not rocket science, it's not even Management 101, it's just common sense. Pretending issues don't exist by isolating yourselves into some ivory towers like others do certainly is an alternative solution. Too bad it isn't the one that will make LSRP succeed.

  34. Additional points I'd like to throw out there. Adding a guide for new players when they first join the server. I previously stated in the tapering how some friends of mine quit the server because of how difficult it is to get money. However, another set of friends let me know that the reason they left is because they had no idea what to do. What do I mean by this? Well, they explained to me that once they logged into the server and created their character, there was no guidance whatsoever. They weren't sure where to start, what to do, what were the options to get money, etc. We need to have something implemented in-game that can show players what they can do when they first join. A little guide. We can't treat this server like it's old LS-RP where people know where everything is and how to do it. We need to cater to the new playerbase. Reviewing the Driving Test. The amount of players that have complained about the driving test was pretty big when the server first launched. A lot pf people, including myself, had some difficulty passing the written exam and I think it needs to be revisited and dumbed down. There are some questions that have two right answers but you can only pick one. Despite it being mostly common sense, we still need to cater to the players that get filtered by something like this. One friend of mine has quit because of this alone and even I explained to them how I failed twice before passing it.
