  1. I'm sorry not sorry, this is silly. You seem to be taking issue with the actions of a minority and putting restrictions on people who it may not apply to. Say I join a street-gang faction, I intend on opening a business - doing some illegal roleplay and chilling with members of said faction on their turf. They've got beef with whoever, and I get killed on Monday as a result of a drive-by. Now, I've not retaliated personally, but the faction I'm with do. I'm stood outside with someone involved the next day, I get killed again or maybe they start on us and I can't fight for shit so now I'm BW'd and accept death to take the PK from the faction war thats in place. My next death is a CK and I've had my character 2-3 days. That's bogus. I'm not sure on your background, but if you've been involved in faction wars you would, or should understand that this concept isn't going to work for every aspect of roleplay that's out there. The concept of a PK is heavily involved in faction war rules, and rightly so - because they happen so often. The quality of some individuals roleplay does need to be reviewed, but it's happening all the time that admins are taking action whether it be a-jailing or banning people for poor roleplay, or DM mentality etc. It's the teething stages of the server, these people with shit RP will be weeded out eventually as their admin record grows. Imposing some mental system on the entirety of the server isn't it. Factions do take CK perms, and do use them. Most if not all decent RPers I know will hold a C.K following a random death if the situation calls for it. If the roleplay around the situation is good enough, and has built to the point that it would make little sense for their character to continue after that point.

  3. Phillip “Short-Cake” Battaglia- 1977, Liberty City. “Early Life” Phillip “Short-Cake” Battaglia was born January 3rd, 1956, in Hove Beach, Broker, Liberty City. Battaglia grew up in extreme poverty, in a mob-imprinted neighborhood, where wiseguys and crooks had a chokehold on local businesses. In Phil’s neighborhood, the only that mattered, were mob-guys. Throughout his childhood, Phillip painted a stereotype in his head, of what a working man is- a sucker. A submissive loser, who works hard all his life for a lousy pay, to pay off mortgage on his lousy house. It was engraved in Phillip’s mind at a young age, that he wouldn’t suffer the fait, of the average working man in his neighborhood. Besides powerful and well-structured crime organizations in the ‘70s and 80s, there were also many small street gangs in Liberty City, one of which was the “Hove Beach Gang”, who obviously stated by their name, operated in Hove Beach. Gangs like the “Hove Beach Gang”, were usually formed by young men, as well as teens, who didn’t have the age nor the notoriety to be picked up by mobsters. Some gangs had direct ties to organized crime families, but the “Hove Beach Gang”, was not one of them. In the early 70s, Phillip fell in with this wild bunch of misled teens, and quickly became a member of their clique. Phillip was an excellent car thief, as he knew everything there was to know about cars, since he had worked in his uncle’s auto shop since he was little. By hot-wiring and stealing cars, Phillip made a small fortune at a young age. “More Than The Eyes Can Bare” As much as Phillip felt at home with his new friends, who he now viewed as brothers, Phillip was levels ahead of the crooks he surrounded himself with, both mentally and when it came to making money. Phillip hadn’t progressed much when it came to rackets, as stealing cars, and selling certain parts, brought in enough money to please Phillip and fulfill his needs. On a late, snowy night in 1982, Phillip and his close friend, David DeMagnolio, decided to rob the house of an old lady, who supposedly was sitting on a bunch of cash, because she had no trust in banks. Phillip opened the front door with a lock pick, and the two headed inside. It was meant to be a clean job, the two were to sneak inside quietly, retrieve the money from the old lady, which was hidden in a small fireplace upstairs, and then get out of there. Unknowingly to Phillip, David had a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver tucked in his jeans. While David snuck upstairs to grab the money, Phillip searched the ground floor to find any valuables. Shortly after David went upstairs, Phillip heard a loud and haunting scream from the old lady, followed up by the roaring sound of a revolver being fired. Phillip ran upstairs, to find the old lady slumped over beside her bed. The wall and bedsheets were painted with her brains and blood splatter. For a minute, Phillip stood over the old lady in complete shock, before David grabbed his shoulder and said in a soothing voice: “I got the cash, Phill, let’s get the fuck outta’ here…” “Clean Slate” After that night, nobody saw Phillip’s face again. At first, people assumed he got picked up by the police and was now cooperating, but as time went by, it seemed he had just disappeared. In reality, Phillip was so shook up by the killing, that he packed his stuff immediately, and left for Los Santos the very next day. Phillip had family in Los Santos, so to him, it was an opportunity for a fresh start, and to ask the lord for forgiveness. Phillip planned to lead a straight life, free of murder and theft. In LS, Phillip got a job stocking shelves at a VHS store, but only showed up to work twice, before quitting the job. He then began driving trucks, and preferred it over stocking shelves. Phillip could spend time on the road, keeping to himself and his own thoughts. Sometime in the mid ‘80s, Phillip met his future wife, Catherine DeGrassi, who was a friend of his cousin. The two quickly fell in love, and it didn’t take long for them to move in together. Catherine didn’t work, so the two relied completely on Phillip’s short income. Phillip started working extra hard, over the next few years, but he was still making barely enough money to feed his wife. In 1988, Catherine became pregnant with Phillip’s child. Phillip knew right then and there, that if he wanted his kid to live a better life than his, he had to be able to provide for them, like his own parents never could. Phillip was determined to do so, no matter the cost. “The Accardo Connect” Through Phillip’s older cousin, Phillip got connected to a guy named Henry Rossi. Henry Rossi was a soldier with the Accardo crew, a crew that was linked to the biggest crime organization in Los Santos at the time. Henry was a middle-aged, half-assed wiseguy, with roots going back to Sicily, like Phillip himself. Phillip met Henry at a bar called “The Tatz Janeesa”, where Phillip offered Henry truckloads of electronics and other valuables, if Henry was willing to pay Phillip a commissions fee. Henry, being the eager Guinea he was, of course agreed without hesitation. And just like that, Phillip was connected to the San Andreas Crime Family. Throughout the course of a year, Phillip and Henry surprisingly grew very close. Henry spotted an inner soldier in Phillip, and therefor viewed him as more of a muscleman, than a truck driver. Eventually, Henry offered Phillip a full time position, working under him, as an associate to the Accardo crew. With a newborn son in the house, Phillip quickly agreed. “The Rise Of Short-Cake” In LS during the late 80s, most guys were scoring dope, or scoring bets and loans. Since Phillip was horrible with numbers, he decided to dabble into the coke business. Through Henry, Phillip had a connect who could offer grade-A cocaine at a fair price. Phillip wasn’t a dealer. His job was to buy the pure cocaine from his connect, and sell it to smaller fish in the sea. In ‘89, Phillip established a solid name and reputation for himself, in the underground world of Los Santos. Phillip was later given the nickname “Short-Cake” due to his tiny size. The early 90s were a glorious time. Phillip was kitted in Fila Tracksuits and Cartier watches, distributing cocaine like it was ice cream, and with that, polluting the streets and poisoning its citizens. Catherine knew something was wrong, when over the course of three years, Phillip moved the family from a 2 bedroom bungalow, to a 4 bedroom colonial home. However she enjoyed the fruits of Phillip’s labor, and therefor said nothing. Phillip now had two children: His oldest child, Robert Battaglia, and his youngest child, Isabella Battaglia. Although Phillip wasn’t home much, he loved his children to death. In 1998, things took a turn for the worst. Phillip was ordered by Henry Rossi, to kill an old, Jewish bookmaker in Las Venturas. Initially, Phillip abstained from doing it, since it secretly brought him back to when he witnessed an old lady get shot, but after little persuasion, Phillip agreed. In his Lexus SC300, Phillip drove to Las Venturas, with a gun in the waistband of his tracksuit pants, and a small picture of his target. Upon arriving late at night, Phillip drove straight to the bookie-office, and waited for the man to leave. After an hour, Phillip saw an obese man with a pointy nose, stagger out of the front door of the shop with a hunched-over back posture. Phillip slid out of his car, and walked towards the man, who was locking the door to his office. Phillip withdrew his gun and shot the man in the back of the head. As Phillip turned around to get back into his car, he saw a young couple across the street, looking straight at him. Both the couple and Phillip froze. Phillip abruptly ran to his car, and jumped back into the Lexus, speeding off. It took the cops two days to find Phillip, and when police came knocking at his door to take him away, he complied. Phillip was charged with first-degree murder, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with the possibility of parole. “The Fall Of Short-Cake” In 2004, Catherine Battaglia was diagnosed with lung cancer. She passed away the same year, leaving their two children as orphans. Phillip was devastated. He was at an all-time low. He tried several times to write letters to his kids, but got no word back. In prison, Phillip suffered from severe depression and anxiety. In 2023, Phillip was granted parole, and was finally released back onto the street. The streets that he once knew, had now changed completely. The game that he once knew, had new players, but the exact same rules. As an old man in Los Santos, Phillip is completely unknown. The reputation he spent years building, has now completely vanished. He is now nothing but a washed-up, old man. A shell of a tough-guy. In Phillip’s mind, at the ripping age of 66, there is no other thing he can do, than try to regain the reputation he once had.

  4. I was talking about this on Discord earlier today, and have a slightly different way of handling it. Instead of using a "lives" system, why not deal with it on a case by case basis by creating a set of conditions where a Forced CK is warranted? For example... For criminals: If you are in a police chase and clearly outnumbered 4 to 1, but you decide to shoot at the cops and "go down in a blaze of glory" - this should be an automatic CK if you die during the raid. If you are in a house and a tactical team knocks on the door, but you decide you want to have a shootout in the interior - this should be an automatic CK if you die during the raid. If you are a gang leader and actively engaged in an official war with another faction, the other faction should be allowed to assassinate you anywhere except on your own home turf. For law enforcement: If you do something very unrealistic or unsafe, such as running directly at a person who has an automatic rifle - this should be an automatic CK if you die while doing so. If you are a detective and are exposed by the gang/mafia/organization you are investigating, they should be allowed to Force CK you with approval from FM. This wouldn't require the implementation of a hard number of lives to be tracked on a character level. Instead, it would encourage both sides - cops and criminals - to roleplay realistically under the threat of losing their character permanently if they choose to depart from the realm of reality. "But why should I lose my character I've been working so hard on?" This is the logic of RPG enthusiasts who want to tell exactly the story they want to tell. However, LS:RP isn't always just about telling the story you want to tell - it's about the stories we tell together through our characters. None of us have full control over what happens to our characters - for example, leadership overthrows in illegal factions can result in a gang leader being thrown out of their own faction and even killed! I would advocate for expanding this rule. "But what if i'm in a shootout and the police call backup and then they outnumber me mid-fight?" This is where I would say the rule should be clearly outnumbered. If it's a tactical team, this should scare the pants off any criminal - your options then are jump out the back window, surrender, or fight them... if you choose to fight them you deserve to be CK'ed if you lose that fight. If it's an open shootout in public, then I wouldn't say this should be the rule unless it is very clear you are outnumbered, but this is for the admins to decide... "But I can't afford a name change every time this happens?!" Free name changes should be given to those who are Force CK'ed, because they are losing their character. This is not the same as choosing to switch around what character is played on each slot, because in this case you would actually be losing a character permanently.

  6. This guy gets it. As for the proposed guidelines/policies, certainly they have to be mulled over and what-not, but I'm supportive of the general idea.

  7. Phillip Battaglia’s 1998 mugshot, where he was arrested for the murder of Lawrence Grossman. By the late 90s, Phillip was hooked on practically any pharmaceutical that had an anesthetic effect. Phillip was getting so high on his own supply, that he began costing himself serious money. On a daily basis, Phillip was consuming everything from cocaine to painkillers. Phillip’s biggest fear about prison, was that he wouldn’t be able to get high twenty-four-seven. As of 2023, Phillip is clean, and has been for over twenty years.

  8. Not what I'm saying at all, I actually like the idea but I think a lot of people would be against it, I'm trying to brainstorm by giving other thoughts Maybe this could be optional for the player to enable, but we could also have admins enable it forcefully for a player if they're constantly dying for supbar reasons, to make them fix their act Player deaths are really easy for us to track and notice when it's excessive

I hope at least someone will find some use in this. General Guidelines Usage of Commands: Utilize the commands /ame, /melow, and /dolow exclusively. Avoid spamming the entire venue and its occupants when serving a single person a beer. Use /melow and /dolow for direct customer interactions. In all other cases, refer to /ame. Example: /ame turns to the fridge and retrieves a beer for Wrynn. (The preparation action is included under /ame to avoid excessive messages at the bar) /melow serves Michael Wrynn his beer. (Order serving is managed through /melow and /dolow to make sure that the customer can actually see and acknowledge their drink being served as it can be missed via an /ame) Roleplaying Efficiency: While we appreciate your attention to detail as skilled role players, it is necessary to prioritize speed and brevity in this setting. We aim to avoid situations where multiple individuals wait at the bar for extended periods due to lengthy descriptions of serving one person a beer. Please be quick and concise. Save elaborate details for other scenarios. Uncertain Orders: As we understand that not all bartenders are professionals in real life, it is acceptable to be brief when unsure about an order. For instance, if you receive an order for a cocktail that you are unfamiliar with or unsure how to prepare out-of-character (OOCly), a simple response suffices. Example: /ame prepares Wrynn's cocktail. < No further explanation is necessary. Please note that it is considered good practice to still get yourself familiar with some basic mixology. Feel free to use this Cocktails Master Recipe List (thanks .skier). Script Usage Serving Drinks: /servedrink [playername or ID] [glass/plastic cup/bottle] of [drink name] Drink names: Beer, Vodka, Tequilla, Whiskey, Brandy, Bourbon, Single Malt Scotch, Cognac, Rum, Champagne, Vintage Champagne, Red Wine, White Wine Beer is only available as a "Bottle". Vodka is only available as "Plastic Cup" and Bottle. Everything else is available as "Glass" and "Bottle". This is case sensitive. For instance /servedrink ID Plastic Cup of Vodka Please note that you can enable the "Plastic Cup" option for other beverages as well, I just have it disabled for the Pit Stop as you can see above in order to make life easier for both bartenders and customers a-like. Other Orders/Notes (Food & Tobacco): There are scripted-in food and tobacco (if your business has permits to sell those). You can see all the things we offer in that department by using /buy in the interior. You can roleplay this as a menu to give out to customers. It has items, pictures, prices and everything. You just role play preparing and serving the item. They /buy it. Use /pos ID for orders that aren't existing script wise items. When in the pos menu, payment description should be "The Pit Stop". Select tax set to 7% sales tax. Item Name, Quantity and Price is for you to enter situationally. Don't use /pos for cocktails, use /servedrink for the primary alcohol of the cocktail. Like scriptwise vodka for a bloody mary. Use /pos only if you are unsure what the primary is. Don't ask customers to pay manually, the scripts charges them automatically. They can pay via both cash or card. ------------- Once again, I hope someone finds this useful. Cheers.

  14. Just bring back old system. You guys are forgetting, we are LS:RP. How many people over here had millions sitting in banks and we used the funds to create RP, using cash to purchase properties, furniture them for sick ass vibes and all that. We don't care about money, we just use that shit to create more possibilities. When I was running Russian scene on SAMP, I'd have my crew scout some cars and snap pictures of them. Pass it over to me and I'd forward to other organized crimes that were my business associates. They'd get back with me with the car they liked and my crew would jack that ride, we'd RP the entire process of document, VIN swap and all that and after couple days of RPing in garage doing all that, I'd buy the car from DS and sell it half-price to the OC affiliate. So if its elegant that was 120k, I'd sell them that for 60k, but I'd just raise up prices of gun/drugs for a little while until 60k would be paid off, but that would take even up-to 2-3 month for them to slowly pay it back to balance it out, but core point is...we used money to create sick RP instead of grinding/waiting for cash for months to create more RP. Don't forget the important factor that, lots of us are older these days. This ain't 08-2016 where we were young and had plenty of time on our hands, majority of players are probably mid 20's right now and when you wanna come IG to be able to do epic shit that you been doing on here since 07-09 and etc... grinding for cash from beginning is pretty harsh. If not, at least give us good cash boosts. Let people get back on their feet , get some vehicle, property and such. Because expecting everyone to follow "realistic" economy is harsh, because end of the day. Economy will still get fucked up, it's just matter of time. Multiple servers across all platforms tried it, but end of the day. It's a game and nobody wants to grind. On LSRP we got standards, there's special thing about us and nobody gave a shit that you had couple hundred grand sitting in the bank. 80 percent of people RP'ed broke or fitting their characters-RP developing assets, nobody proper RP'ed having mils in their bank. How many gang members out here had millions, but RP'ed broke as shit, but used the funds to purchase vehicles, get properties mapped out so it feels enjoyable to RP around whole hood scene...
