Just to clarify why we aren't using the legacy forums for SA-MP:
- The legacy forums run on, as the name suggests, legacy code which is vulnerable and very unstable. We had to spend hours every week if not more just to keep the forums up and fix them anytime we've made changes in the admin panel because something random broke. It eats a lot into the time we could spend doing something more productive.
- It'd be twice the amount of accounts to have and maintain for a lot of people. Twice the forums to oversee and moderate.
I 100% understand the sentimental value of the legacy forums and that's why we agreed to put them back up, even though it's an additional cost both infrastructure wise (running an old phpbb version with almost 9 million posts indexed isn't cheap) and time wise (we still need to maintain them somewhat, because they've sporadic issues). Having them in an archived, read-only mode is a compromise we've made where they're still available for everyone to browse, but won't cost us an arm and a leg in time and hosting costs as if they were fully operational.
We are working on making this community forum more enjoyable for everyone to make players used to the SA-MP forum feel more at home, but it's out of the question to return the legacy forum to an operating state. I'm here for the nostalgia, but we need to collectively embrace some level of change.
