  1. I'd like to remind people about the ongoing UCP Feedback Survey announced in the recent Operations Update, which we encourage everyone to take part in; while we are continuing to work on things, this helps give us a clearer picture of areas of the community you feel need attention or improvement

    RIP Cashew

I sadly never got to meet up with Cashew like some others in the staff team, having only last spoke to him a week or so back this is a big shock. Having a scroll through my old SA-MP videos and reminiscing about funnier times, Cashew front and center being the funny guy he was puts a smile on my face even now. Rest in peace my friend, sending best wishes to his family and loved ones ❤️
  3. Hello everyone, This is the first in a series of intermittent operational updates where we will share information, address community feedback, and keep everyone informed about the direction of the server. In this update we will briefly cover the following topics: Server Stability & Continuity Content Creators Events Team Milestone Giveaways UCP Based Feature Voting UCP Feedback Survey Server Stability & Continuity Our development team has been working continuously to improve overall server stability. Over the past two weeks several crash related issues were identified and resolved, with fixes being deployed on a near daily basis. As a result, we are now confident that the current experience is significantly more stable than it was during the initial launch period. In addition to the crashes, some players experienced issues loading server resources which prevented them from connecting. This resulted in a large number of support tickets. We are happy to report that these issues have now been resolved and all open tickets regarding connection problems have resulted in successful in-game connections. If anyone encounters issues going forward, please open a ticket on Discord. We understand that these early issues were frustrating for many players. Launching and stabilizing a server of this scale inevitably involves challenges in a live environment. With the stability improvements now in place, we hope and encourage those who encountered issues earlier will give LS-RP another opportunity. Content Creators With the server now operating more reliably we'd like to remind people of our Content Creator program. Creators on YouTube, TikTok and Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook) can apply to join the content creator program and receive various benefits to help you create better content and stand out in the community. We are also looking to further expand our content creator program to better support those who stream on LS-RP. Further information will be released to our content creators when ready; if you stream, or create any form of social media relating to the LS-RP platform, we encourage you to apply. A quick shoutout here to two of our content creators, @points and @Moon, who have been pushing out content on a regular basis. We recommend you check them out, and our other content creators, in the #content-creators channel on Discord. Events Team Our events team has his the ground running as we settle back into the RageMP platform, running events such as the Los Santos Paintball Tournament, San Andreas State Triathlon and St. Patrick's Day Parade. Looking at the internal event team discussions, I can assure you there's no signs of slowing so keep an eye on the #server-events channel on Discord. If anyone is interested in participating in planning and running events, you can find more details here or reach out to @husoparac11. Milestone Giveaways To encourage activity and celebrate player milestones we will be introducing milestone based giveaways tied to server population. Once we reach various concurrent player targets, we'll look to run periodic giveaways which will take place for players currently online. These giveaways will primarily consist of credits, allowing players to redeem them for small perks that best suit their needs. Examples of rewards include things such as name changes, additional character slots, additional furniture slots, and other quality of life perks available through the premium system. The goal of these giveaways is to reward players who are actively contributing to the growth and activity of the server while also creating small moments of excitement throughout the day. UCP Based Feature Voting One of the most common questions we receive is which major feature will be developed next. To allow the community to directly influence development priorities we will be reintroducing UCP based voting. Players will be able to vote on a list of potential major features through the User Control Panel which are live now. Features will then be implemented in order of popularity based on the results of this vote, ensuring that development time is focused on the improvements the community wants most. We will initially be starting with three features up for voting, this will be for a period of one week, at which time the most popular choice will be put forward for development. We've heard the previous feedback that features were put up for voting, but never developed; our approach going forward will only be to post a limited number and then focusing on the most popular as a priority. UCP Feedback Survey We have also introduced a UCP Feedback Survey to give all players the opportunity to share structured feedback about both the server scripts and the community experience. The survey can be accessed by logging into the UCP and completing the feedback form. While discussion threads are still valuable, structured feedback allows us to identify trends more clearly and understand which issues affect the largest number of players. Individual responses also help provide more detailed insights than what is typically possible in public discussions. We appreciate everyone who has supported LS-RP during the launch and throughout the stabilization process. These operational updates will continue periodically as needed when development progresses and new features are introduced. Thank you for being part of the community. I'd like to personally thank everyone who has been submitting bug reports and suggestions, both for development and operational areas of the community. These are the primary way for you to give us your thoughts and feedback, with admins and developers reviewing them on a daily basis. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or queries regarding operations, I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
  4. Congrats to the new guys joining the team! SoonTM is actually SoonTM
  5. I wouldn't be putting in my free time if I didn't think it could succeed, obviously that's my opinion and others will have their own views which is perfectly valid. Martin is one of three in management, a lot of things which were solely one persons responsibility are now split. I know people are waiting for an "official" response from management and that is coming, it just takes time to go over things and discuss them. Simply not true but sure.
  6. I've seen a few comments throughout the thread alluding to the fact that developers intentionally do not work on SA-MP and instead work on developing RAGE instead, I'm not sure where this has come from but it's not true at all. The development team are all volunteers, who do this in their spare time out of passion for the community and to see the persistent attacks on them is frankly very demotivating. There have also been comments that we should all just prioritise on SA-MP from a development standpoint, but it's not as simple as that. As Duco has alluded to previously PAWN is a very antiquated language that isn't well taught, if at all these days; coupled with the fact the SA-MP codebase goes all the way back to 2007, it is not a trivial matter to add even basic things. Speaking for myself, and Danut, we both joined the development team for RAGE; I personally have no knowledge of PAWN to assist with SA-MP, and I already spend the little free time I have developing alongside my other duties as a lead admin. Given all that, I think people don't realise how lucky they were when a developer like Cake was around who had the free time and knowledge to push out significant updates to SA-MP. Robstrap is the resident SA-MP guy these days, and he's been holiday for a little bit know, but I know from speaking to him he intends to continue his work developing SA-MP on his return. No matter your opinion on which platform you prefer, just be mindful of the time and effort people put in for free in their spare time; you might not agree, but they're the ones sacrificing their free time.

  8. Again, like previously, the topic has devolved into a back and forth with names being thrown about in an inappropriate setting. I refer you all back to my message below, evidently there are issues from certain people's perspectives, so I look forward to receiving reports about them via the appropriate channels.
  9. No one is above the rules and regulations laid out, there are processes to report staff members and they’re taken seriously. I would like to see the information that’s been collated when it’s ready.
  10. This is why these threads don't last long, I've reviewed my logs from the conversation that evening and this is plainly false. This is not the place to address specific incidents as the conversation inevitably devolves into a back and forth like this.
  11. I’ll repeat my message from the other thread, throwing around accusations on a post like this does nothing to solve any issues there might be. I encourage people to report via the proper mechanisms (contact faction leadership, contact HoLF, forum or staff reports) otherwise things will be missed. No matter what people may think, reports are taken seriously and addressed with the relevant people - but they need to be made. As Head of Legal Factions I’ve made numerous changes over the past few months, all from the feedback of community members.
  12. The only thing I will say at the minute, before this devolves from an actual constructive conversation as it has in the past, is that making any claims of rule breaking on a thread like this does nothing. There are mechanisms to report rule breaking and other concerns with faction members, if people choose not to for whatever reason then issues will go unaddressed.
  13. (( As per the recent announcement from LFM, courts are being placed on an indefinite hold effective immediately. As such all ongoing court proceedings are being terminated. ))
