    Hello!
     
    We've just concluded our 2023-07 Tester Application cycle. Thank you to everyone who participated. In the 7 short days the cycle ran, we received and reviewed 98 applications and 24 were selected. To those who applied and weren't selected, thank you for your interest and effort. I don't have an estimate on the next cycle but if you remain interested then, please do re-apply!

    Community Updates
    Hello!
     
    Welcome to the July 2023 Staff Update.
     
    Tester Applications - Tester application period will be closing Saturday, the 1st of July. If you're interested, please apply before the application period ends! Our review period will begin the next day on Sunday and we anticipate publishing the results later that same week.
     
    Major Update  - Our first Major Update, 1.1, is in progress, based on the feedback we've received. These updates will include some much requested features and important bug fixes. We will have more to share in the coming days. We've  worked diligently to resolve any issues with crashing as soon as they're reported to us and so far we've had great success in quickly patching them. Please follow our #updates channel on Discord to stay up-to-date on all things development.
     
    Property Requests - A request pipeline will be implemented in the coming days to request changes to your properties and additions such as spawning a garage.
     
    Feedback Gathering - We have been collecting feedback from various different areas and platforms of the community. All your comments, suggestions, and ideas are being carefully considered, and we appreciate your efforts in helping us make the server even better.
     
    I want to give a big thanks to our admin and tester team for their continued hard work and dedication. In this past month alone, they responded to 7,504 help requests, 4,069 reports, and 2,823 character applications.
     
    I am happy to announce two new additions to our game development team, TommyB and HitzSPB. Both bring different unique perspectives and expertise to the team, which will no doubt contribute to a better server. To those who applied and weren't selected, thank you for your interest and effort. We're looking to bring more developers on board down the line as we optimize our process for a larger team. Thank you to everyone who applied, we'll keep your applications on record for the next waves.

    Greetings!
     
    As we get closer to a launch, we're also looking to expand our staff team. We're now receiving applications for new testers and staff reinstatements.
     
    We're looking for members of the community that are passionate about building the server with us and we encourage everyone interested to apply!

    Additionally, we had another successful week for development. We've made great headway in identifying and squashing bugs. Just in the last week, we documented 50 or more different bugs that we've now resolved. There now remain very few issues that block us from successfully releasing and we're excited for whats to come.
     
    We want to thank everyone again for their continued patience and support. Remember that our progress can be followed and daily updates can be seen in our #test-git channel on Discord.
     
    The application for tester was updated recently, if anyone already had it pre-filled. Please make sure your application is up to date.

    Hey everyone,
     
    We've decided to once again move our release date. First and foremost, please accept our apologies.
     
    I understand the frustration everyone must be feeling, and you aren't alone. Our biggest challenge is time. Every release date we've set, whether February 24st or week of March 21st, has been calculated based on current development team availability which has proven to change unexpectedly more often than not, leading us to continue to undercalculate our progress and release timeframes.
     
    Nonetheless, I won't give you any excuses. We gave out a date and we should be expected to meet it, that is on us. Once again, we're sorry for the continued false promises.
     
    With that being said, the work hasn't stopped. We're very close to launching and I'm prepared to show you a sheet of outstanding features.

    The features listed are the current prerequisites to us launching.
     
    It's been a busy month for all of us in the development team but I'm still able to assure you that development is not going to and has never stopped. We're working hard to get this out. I hope everyone understands that we have never delayed because we want to but because we had to.
     
    At this time I am not prepared to give you another release date. I'll post another announcement as soon as I have that information. We'll continue to regularly post development snippets and update you as we make progress.

    Hey everyone,
     
    Today we're releasing our penal and vehicle code. We decided instead of recycling from SAMP, we would rewrite it from scratch. We took some guidance from the SAMP penal code to get a gist of how to write it, but for the most part, it's a fresh one. We looked to the California penal code for inspiration and some charges are named and indexed from it. Our goal for this penal code was to make it as clear as possible so that both illegal and legal roleplayers would be able to comprehend it without issue.
     
    Lets talk about prison time:
     
    We decided that, for now, we're going to be sticking with an hour/minute based time system for sentencing. This is a hot topic and a lot of people have differing opinions but we feel this is the best way to go for the time being. Our goal in the future is to adapt to a court system and base sentencing and time off of that. It's a whole discussion and it's still being brainstormed but I hope to have something to show there after launch.
     
    Some charges aren't in the right title?
     
    You may see, for example, 211. Robbery inside Title 1 and wonder why it's there when it doesn't follow the numbering at all. Well, this is one of the ways we looked to California for inspiration. Everyone understands when they hear "187" that it's Murder. "211" is Robbery. For these common charges, we decided to number them based off of California and how everyone knows them by.

    Infraction penalty dollar amount will be filled in at a later day before launch.

    Hey all,
     
    Today I'm happy to showcase to you guys how far along we've came with our damage system which is just about complete. It's been really fun testing and we can't wait for you guys to hop in game soon and experience it yourself. Check out this video by @Xanakin to see more about it:
     
     
    We really brainstormed how to handle damages and different type of weapons and I think we came out with a pretty solid system. We currently have more than 60 custom inventory weapons implemented and more than 20 different ammo types. Each weapon will have a base damage and a list of compatible ammo and a range of distances it can fire accurately and how far. V's native range for hitting targets is quite large so this was necessary to do. Each ammo type will be configured with a different multiplier. So some types of ammo will be stronger, some will be weaker and so forth. When it comes to deciding how much damage it's time to give, it all comes down to these factors: base damage, ammo multiplier, distance and bodypart. Some bodyparts will increase your damage, and some may lower it.
     
    Another part of our system that I'm quite happy about is the attachment system! We've added just about every weapon component that exists on GTA V and that will all be accessible. As demonstrated in the video, you'll be able to have each piece in your inventory and use them on weapons it's compatible with (not all can have attachments)!
