Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and to Dos Santos for his work behind the scenes helping set everything up in-game for us. For those wondering, the reason we have so few /invited members is because not everyone has been /invited yet and we have reverted back to Sonny’s method of inviting only made men to the faction in-game; our standards for induction are extraordinarily high and the vast majority of the faction’s member base consists of associates. There were a few reasons for this decision, chief of which is to help achieve our goal of creating the most realistic, immersive, IC roleplay experience possible for everyone involved. With that said, we have a top-notch group of associates and value everyone on the team, regardless of rank. Please bear in mind that my original plan was to operate strictly IC with no faction thread/OOC presence for a month+ (like our last run) so we could take our time in reestablishing everything in-character, rekindling chemistry, and to help build the foundation of the realistic, immersive, IC culture we are striving for. However, in order to be eligible for official reinstatement and receive our businesses back (more of a priority than official status itself), we had to rush to post a thread before the deadline. Many of us, myself included, have been on a hiatus from roleplaying and this project only recently came together. We are still in the initial planning stage and currently reorganizing our businesses but the interest from our past members has been massive and you will see more and more Valenti characters of old around in the coming weeks. Make no mistake, I would not have brought Valenti back without the right team in place to uphold and further the legacy. For those interested in joining: I have been swarmed with messages from all angles since rumors spread of the Valenti comeback and apologize for not getting back to everyone. All the information you need is on the second post of this thread. There are no Discord groups to join and no OOC handouts to be had; all recruitment is handled IC. I recognize that due to the current status of the faction IC it will be more difficult than usual to come in contact with us but more and more pathways to joining will present themselves as the faction rebuilds in an organic, realistic manner.14 points

Dali here. Missed that server a lot, it could've probably been alive and kicking to this very day if it wasn't for some specific people. If you know, you know.2 points

All recruitment as you can imagine will be done In Character and you will be expected to not break any rules, be respectful and dedicated to the faction and your character in it. We understand that not everybody is an expert on gang roleplay and specifically Sureño roleplay but we are an open path for you to learn. We expect you to accept constructive criticism if it's being given to you and for you to engrave your own development path in the faction. The aim of our faction is to create a realistic sureño environment in El Corona. We don't want this to lean towards being a generic faction so we will have our own personal twist. If you've found the thread interesting and want to participate and join us on this journey then we expect you to know that you will have to develop a character and focus on bringing out the realism aspect in the environment. Any information regarding sending CK permission, the faction rules, backstory & more can be found inside the Discord channel which you can join by clicking the interactable image below. If you got any questions or complaints about the faction or its members, don't hesitate to send a forum PM to Draxxler, Risen, Houssem or Accursed.2 points

Previously: https://forum.ls-rp.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=421864&start=1515#p9679301 ---------- Appelo Elected Deputy Mayor, Making a Triumphant Comeback BY TED SULLIVAN | NOV 8, 2023 | 10:33 PM Los Santos, SA — Jep Appelo, former San Andreas State Treasurer and Speaker of the State Senate, and long-time Los Santos political boss, has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Los Santos. Running alongside Alexander Blair, who secured the mayoral position, the political victory for Appelo marks a significant comeback for a man who has spent decades deeply intertwined with the city’s political landscape and controversy. Appelo, a native of the mean streets of East Los Santos, built a remarkable career in politics and the media. Appelo launched himself into the spotlight over a decade ago by taking on the stagnating Rakesh Namir Mayoral Administration and partnering with his successor, Mayor Frank Vaughn. Yet, four years ago, Appelo came under significant federal scrutiny, and the government sought to press charges on allegations of money laundering and involvement with Los Santos underworld figures. The case, however, was dropped, leading to widespread speculation about the motivations behind the Justice Department's decision-making. Appelo has since argued that he was the target of political persecution and overzealous federal prosecutors and maintains his innocence, a narrative he reiterated on the campaign trail. "I have always fought for the people of Los Santos," Appelo declared in a victory speech on the steps of the Antonin Scalia Courthouse. "Despite the accusations thrown my way by my opponents and the system's attempts to bring me down, I have never wavered in my commitment to bringing prosperity to Los Santos." Following the dismissal of the charges, Appelo shifted gears from politics to mass media, merging his humble company, the Red County Register, with the San Andreas Network (SAN). His tenure as a media mogul was marked by expanding and professionalizing the network's coverage, especially in the political arena, following a string of high-profile political scandals involving the arrest of Secretary of State Sugely Cuevas and gubernatorial candidate Frank Underhill for using public funding and resources for personal use. His time in the media culminated in selling his SAN stake in 2020 to CEO Paris Newman and a shift to retirement in Vinewood Hills. However, Appelo did not stay uninvolved long, and the accumulation of vast wealth freed him to re-enter the political scene and attempt to rehabilitate his blemished image, much to the delight of his supporters in the East Los Santos' "Fighting Fifth" District that Appelo long represented in the halls of the State Senate. Appelo’s political machine, which has dominated Los Santos politics for years, played a crucial role in the successful mayoral campaign against environmental activist Deborah Lang. Political analysts were uncertain if Appelo would be a political liability for the political newcomer Mayor-elect Blair. Known for his strategic acumen and connections with businesses, non-profits, and labor unions, Appelo leveraged his community ties to galvanize support. It appears Appelo made out better than his long-time political ally, Frank Vaughn, who was arrested by the Justice Department on allegations of riot incitement during a union protest at the Port of Los Santos. Vaughn, the former hero cop and mayor, has since retired from public and quietly consults for non-profits and law enforcement organizations. The Blair-Appelo campaign's message of resilience and a "comeback" for Los Santos resonated strongly with voters, as with Appelo himself. Throughout his career in public office, Appelo has been credited with funneling substantial state tax dollars into the city, transforming it into one of the leading economies in the region. Most notable was his State Senate appropriations work to sustain the Los Santos education system, legislation to unionize municipal workers, and millions of dollars for the Port of Los Santos. To some, Appelo is a ruthless political boss who helps special interests and political allies; to others, he's viewed as a pragmatic and effective leader who can bring the bacon home.1 point
