There are so many roleplay situations being ruined because people getting their friends to act as elite navy seal snipers from rooftops to help them out. This type of activity should be against the rules.

There needs to be a justification of why they decide to use military grade over the sniping.

Illegal Factions are disallowed to use long rifles without permission, I don't see why individual players shouldn't be regulated.

If you ask me, next time just report it and I'm pretty sure the admin will investigate the reason behind the sniping. If the person has no realistic RP reason to do it (for example snipe you because their friend had a stash of 2 pistols in their car  you were busting), then that's a pretty poor reason to risk murdering a LEO using Military Grade weaponry, over a stash of two pistols arrest.

If they snipe you because you're about to catch a mafia boss or an MC/gang leader, with a stash of drugs & guns, then that's more than appealing reason to do so.

It's pretty simple.

Noted. Perhaps there should be a rule created for this because it's extremely hard to identify a sniper.

If they manage to log a shot, you just gotta find the person who got shot or died from it.

Then the admins can easily locate it via logs.

Great. I'll be reporting next time because this happens far too often.

i'll do u one better autumn kennedy let's make shooting at cops an ajailable offence shits just not realistic, why'd u risk shooting cops with military grade weapons? : /

It's not the military grade weapons that's the issue. An AR or something is fine. It's the fact that we are being sniped from 100m away by a random sniper without a legitimate reason.

Usage of sniper rifle to take out a target requires IFC approval, and you can't use it to take out more than one target.

That's basically for factions.

It's not a rule for players who ain't part of one (eg DM Squads who act independently) - which is a loophole.

I don't think OP means sniper rifles specifically, just the act of sniping from rooftops w/ a country rifle or M4 (which is still stupidly easy to counter considering PD is usually 10 deep on scenes and some of them also have access to long-range assault rifles)

This is completely valid though and has been a part of the combat meta on samp since forever, I don't see why it should be an additional rule? Creating rules about vague shit just fuels drama on reports.

Being on a rooftop doesn't make u invincible either, or maybe I'm just a bad rooftop shooter.

From a gameplay point of view, the moment a traffic stop happens you're either to kill yourself in a shootout with PD or basically wrap ur RP up for the day because in 99% of the cases they find a vague reason to escalate the scenario into a search, which automatically sets you up for a hour of painstaking booking RP and 3 hours spent in the (basically OOC) jail for carrying a firearm (something you can't go without as an illegal rper on LSRP).

It's not realistic for every gangster on the street to risk his life shooting at cops, but it's also very unlikely for every rookie police officer to go out of their way to find guns in every unassuming vehicle they pull over.

New ROE specifies that any group of 3+ players who RP together, ROE applies to them
