Suggest New Systems & Improvements to Existing Systems

You might have seen me frequently in the forum topics regarding system suggestions. First and foremost, I should clarify that I am working independently and am not an official LS-RP developer (not yet). I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread in the general section where we can gather system suggestions, refine them both conceptually, systematically and technically, and eventually create official "system suggestions" with details and mockups under official suggestion forum.

 

I don't like to praise myself, but I am someone who has visibly stood out with unique systems in SA-MP before. Please state your system ideas without hesitation, I will try to reply as fast as I can. Let's share and discuss under a topic to develop together the systems you have in mind or want to have in LS-RP.

 

Let's develop the LS-RP community together by developing each other's ideas as community members. 🙏🏻

Good riddance. I’ve seen you flood the suggestion section, however, I hadn’t caught up until recently that you were the developer of these systems. I’m always more keen on expanding on the drug, weapon, inventory system, etc. QoL features here and there and so forth and so on. A better and more convenient furnishing system. An in game TV system (was possible on MTA). 

 

All in all, there’s lots of things - but I think we’ve got the basics nailed down for now. I’m sure others can come up with useful stuff we could use. A key feature needs to be found in which time could potentially be invested for revamping/adding. A poll would be great.

Thank you for making the first comment on this topic and for reviewing the systems I've coded. Since most of the systems in the suggestions section are geared towards legal factions, we can consider the illegal side. I would like to address the systems you've mentioned one by one.

 

One of the steps to create a better and more functional furniture system is to have a pictorial furniture catalog and more furniture objects. I have quite a few furniture models. I will file, photograph, and create a section in the system suggestions. I previously wrote to @danut about this, but he hasn't responded to me at all. He might be busy.

 

Regarding the in-game TV system, here's what I can say. SA-MP has certain limits, and currently, it's not possible to create an in-game TV system in the current default SA-MP. Typically, a framework called CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework) is used for in-game TV systems. CEF is a simple framework for embedding Chromium-based browsers in other applications. There is a CEF mod in SA-MP, but its download size is large and it has certain issues. Additionally, no one would manually download CEF for a single feature. Maybe in the future, if Open Multiplayer brings CEF as a feature, it could be considered, but for now, it's impossible.

If it receives attention (which I believe it will), we can develop a drug production system as big update to suggest to the LSRP managers.

A custom blip system for business owners & event holders that would allow for them to temporarily place a blip on the map when their business/event is open would be a great QoL feature. I'd suggest making it a free perk for premium members & cost IC money for regular players.

Perhaps code it so that blips are up for a maximum of 60 minutes to avoid clutter, and restrict players to a limit of 3-5 blips that they can place in a span of 24 hours to avoid spam.

SA-MP has its limitations, and these limitations also apply within keyboards keys. Assignments can only be made to specific keys. So, unfortunately, not every key can be assigned as desired. However, there is already a Bind system in place and it can be used within these limits.

I was thinking that the character selection screen in SA-MP systems could be revamped. I have two ideas for the character selection screen.

This is a needed QoL feature. Reconnecting to the server to swap characters is outdated.

This isn't a system, but there's way too many police stations now. I count at least 10 new ones since I last played. Why have so many areas been ruined with these?

I agree, there is way too many police stations.  PD and SD should have some stations removed and this is coming from someone who has been in LEO throughout my time on LS-RP. Why is there a massive SEB base by the airport? Why is there a police station on east beach, yeah there's IC reasons or whatever but fuck me it's too much

A blip system would make the city feel more alive and I think businesses could benefit from it, something like on GTA World where you can place a checkpoint on the map for your business that stays up for 30 minutes before having to re-new it.

 

The damage system could get revamped. 

 

Also saw another feature where there were multiple guns server-side for the deagle, which different skins and names, but this would require a whole new system on LSRP. 

 

Edit: Phone needs a new UI asap too, something 2024.
