  1. Past hour
  2. Recently, while browsing the forums, I came across the thread posted by packer. For a brief moment, I genuinely thought I had traveled back in time—to an era when this place actually felt like a community. In just 24 hours, the thread reached 100+ replies and 3.7k views. An impressive number, especially considering it generated more activity than the actual server has seen in an entire week. Interesting, isn’t it? It turns out people aren’t inactive. They’re just usually quiet. Or perhaps kept quiet. The thread itself was chaotic, sure—but in a VERY human way. People agreed, disagreed, analyzed, criticized, defended. Different perspectives, different tones, different experiences. In other words: discussion. And then, predictably, the most familiar part of the process began. Some voices disappeared. Not because of insults. Not because of rule-breaking. Not because of harassment. But because certain opinions were apparently… uncomfortable. Of course, to be clear: LSRP does not silence people. It merely moderates them. And by “moderates,” I mean: Critical voices tend to get muted; Questioning voices tend to get banned ;Remaining voices tend to be very understanding of “how hard management has it” Which brings us to the classic principle: You are free to speak — as long as you speak correctly. So this leads me to a genuine question: Is LSRP a democratic community, or a place where only one narrative is allowed to exist? Me myself coming from a commie country where our people are under oppression and coercion, freedom speech is basically a joke right here, that's why I'm here, seaking for a peace of mind in this virutal roleplay community. But somehow recently events got me thinking like -.. Is this a democratic community anymore? People are allowed to speak out their opinions anymore? Because from the outside, it looks like: Discussion is encouraged (as long as the conclusion is approved) Feedback is welcomed (as long as it changes nothing) Criticism is allowed (as long as it agrees with management) When the server population keeps declining, when long-time players leave, when RP quality visibly drops, we finally see one thread that truly comes alive. And the response is not reflection. Not engagement. But removal. I have to admit—it’s an efficient solution. If you ban enough people, everything eventually becomes very peaceful. People are tired. The server is dying. And that thread blew up for a reason. If the community were truly healthy, why would a single forum thread generate more engagement than the server itself over an entire week? Maybe the issue isn’t packer. Maybe it isn’t the players posting in that thread. Maybe it isn’t even the argument. Maybe the issue is that once a community becomes afraid of people talking, it stops being a community altogether. But hey—this is just a question. Asking questions should still be allowed, right? And we shall make LS-RP great again.
