I second this and wanna add on to it; the new, and even returning player experience is terrible right now. You have to jump through hurdles to properly spawn yourself in, then even after you manage to get over such a feat, you spawn at an airport miles away from the active play zone. None of the vehicles there are rentable for a new player without a license, and taxi drivers are basically non existent apart from maybe two people on the server. This alone sours up the experience, and first impressions matter a lot here as they tend to influence the way you look at other things. Let's say you overcome this and actually make it into Idlewood - there's a high chance that your first roleplay experience will be with idiots like Toby Broakskrup or James Northern, who've been on this server since relaunch and somehow aren't banned yet despite being in 10 admin situations a day. A watch list or a player note system of sorts for admins should've been in effect to combat such cretins. https://i.imgur.com/cqZC9tt.png (Pictured: Search results in the player reports forum.) The admin team should also have a more nuanced outlook on heavy roleplay and be able to point out a pest even if they aren't breaking one of the hyper-specific rules. A majority of the current team lacks this heavy RP type of thinking, from what I've experienced: the context of a situation in most cases doesn't matter, and you can get away with things like blatant dm if you wipe your mouth with an excuse like "He said he'll kill me!!!" or "He followed me and hit my car :/!!!" https://i.imgur.com/JK8vhhh.png (Pictured: A confused administrator's verdict to a scenario where I was ran up on and shot by a previously inactive player over petty discord beef, after it was recognized by both me and the administrator that the shooting was DM and OOC motivated.) A widespread lack of quality control is another thing I've seen drive people away, it's just hard for some people to take this server seriously when you go into the factions section and read an unofficial thread for more than five minutes. To put it on record before someone goes at me about it; I don't think screenshots reflect a faction's roleplay, but seeing who's unable to arrange text on a 800x600 canvas is a great litmus test. IFM and LFM needs to enforce stricter quality control when it comes to faction threads, and if you're one of those people who can't edit a screenshot and would argue that "it's too much work" or "It wasn't like this back in the day when rp was only in game!!!" - you simply don't need to have a faction thread. It takes a toll on your hairline and gives the server a bad image. Circling back to the standpoint of a new / returning player: This situation makes it harder to find yourself your own circle to rp with. A good portion of the factions being mediocre at best and dog shit at worst, you'd probably give up after reading through 3 threads. Let's say you're persistent and get back in game hoping to be pleasantly surprised with one good roleplay scenario. You might decide to go into an open business, where you'll see people brawling a bunch of Roze Enterprise security guards simply for doing their job. https://i.imgur.com/lx6sSSn.png (Pictured: roleplay that I've witnessed within 20 minutes of being in an open business yesterday.) If none of my previous hypotheticals made the potential new player quit, then at this point he'd surely be gone, or turn to trolling because it's stupidly easy to get away with and arguably more entertaining than anything else the server has to offer at first glance. To end my post on a more positive note and not be a negative nancy - I truly believe the server can keep running for the next few months if the admin team stays on top of things in terms of transparency, which they've been doing with the recent removal of Scuba Stef being a shining example. 120 isn't a bad number and with it the city still feels more populated than on gta:w with its 800 players. The real activity issue is that these 120 players might as well be bots, because they don't contribute anything to the landscape when it's not time to fuck around. I believe stricter quality control would push forth better roleplay, and with it a diverse landscape of options for new players. Afterthought: Management shouldn't be afraid to put their foot down when it comes to people like the ones I've mentioned. The possible gap in the playerbase created by this will very likely patch up to an extent with qualified people. There's tens of dudes in faction discords right now who are just reluctant to log on because they don't want their immersion broken by dog shit rp. Brilliant rpers who just don't see the current state of LSRP as a good landscape to build stories on.3 points

tb I'm going to copy paste a bit of what I just posted internally on one of our staff topics r.e improvements: I don't think the server is "dead" yet but this and every other topic is just a waste of time and you all need to save yourselves the impending carpal tunnel with your paragraphs. You need to remember sa-mp closed years ago because it did die and it had little to no players on the daily and this has just been a big nostalgia period. You can try but this topic isn't going to change or solve anything or bring back the peak we had. If you still want to play and experience GTA SA, enjoy the remaining 100-120 we get daily in-game while it lasts and get off the forum. You can list a 100 reasons why you think the playerbase dropped but the only right one in my opinion is that the nostalgia period is over and people lost interest like they did couple years ago. If you're still passionate about the LS-RP community wait for Rage v2 to come around again and until then, enjoy what you can on sa-mp Thanks bye3 points

I hope the right people will take heed of these points, it will rescue LSRP. The existing standards are sewage level which renders the UCP obsolete. Everything about the current state of LSRP is very telling of neglectful behavior from staff. Banning the right persons will bring back players, don't be scared of delivering punishment to those who need it. Instill proper faction management standards, faction threads should go through a process where a respected and understanding team can review threads, screenshots and roleplay. Like bruh, if you actually cared this wouldn't be a problem. Fix it or shut it down, and let it die with its reputation intact.2 points

SAN ANDREAS PAUL GRUMO, ALLEGED BOSS OF LOS SANTOS CRIME FAMILY, DIES AT 63 Booking photo of Paul Grumo following his arrest in 2021. (Los Santos Police Department) BY HAROLD DALEY Dec. 10 Updated 9:01AM PT LOS SANTOS — Paul Grumo, the alleged boss of the Los Santos crime family, was found dead in his Palomino Creek home Sunday morning. The 63-year-old died suddenly in his sleep, and authorities stated it is too early to comment on whether or not foul play factored into the death. Born and raised in Tampa, Grumo is believed to have got his start in organized crime working for the Valenti crime family’s long-time Florida-based caporegime Frank D’Armi as a bookmaker in the late 1980s. Grumo moved to Los Santos in 2013 when the Valenti family was in a state of turmoil with much of its upper echelon behind bars or on trial and deadly power struggles decimating the family further. Grumo has been linked to notorious Mafia bigwigs from Santino “The Butcher” Valenti’s inner circle such as the now-imprisoned Samuel “The Beak” Beccarini and Donald Rigazzi, who currently resides in Tampa. Grumo was released from prison in 2009 after serving a 5 year sentence for aggravated assault, but otherwise managed to stay under the radar of law-enforcement and out of the public eye for much of his criminal career, until rising to the top of the Valenti crime family in recent years. Grumo faced a lengthy trial before eventually being acquitted of money laundering charges last year. In stark contrast to Sonny Valenti—who through his bloody rise and high-profile trials became a celebrity and embraced a life of luxury, often seen wearing expensive suits, driving flashy sports cars, and lived in a Richman Hills mansion—Grumo largely managed to avoid headlines and exhibited a more humble lifestyle. Mafia pundits point to Grumo as being a key figure in the rebuilding of the Valenti crime family, ushering in an era of stability for an organization that had been in constant turmoil since the 2011 conviction of its original boss Sonny Valenti. The Valenti family, once thought to be completely defunct, began making significant inroads and a resurgence in the Los Santos underworld in 2018 and beyond, which came to the surface with their bloody feud with the renegade Bellantonio crime family in 2019 and 2020. Since then, there has been no violence linked to the Valenti family. Authorities believe that the rival organizations negotiated a peace treaty and cut all business ties, through the help of mediation from Bonanno family bigwig Joseph “The Barber” Uttaro. The impact Grumo’s death may have on the landscape of the Valenti family and Los Santos underworld remains to be seen. Some believe that Sonny Valenti still holds the top seat in the family from behind bars, but his level of influence in the family’s modern state of affairs is largely unknown. The Butcher’s earliest possible release date is 2036.2 points

I was the first person to bring this up in admin chat as soon as I saw it as I found it ludicrous. However, as you can see, we acted quickly and in the wise words of N.W.A. “we started out wit too much cargo so I’m glad we got rid of ScubaStef Arnold” memes aside, read Jack’s post again and let’s get off of this topic, make another one if you wanna discuss purely SD stuff.1 point

It is not our intention to go on a spree of hiding posts and banning members of the community from the forum for simply stating their experiences with certain staff members. We've already been through some of the hidden responses and unhidden those that were not directly attacking someone or stirring the pot, ones that did will not be unhidden, not because we are censoring but they add nothing to this discussion. We are also unlocking this post so allow further discussion between the community, but that means; This is a final warning, if this becomes a channel to just argue and share issues with particular members of the community or staff then I don't want to see it. If you have issues with staff and have evidence to back up your statements I want to see a staff report submitted so we can ensure it is being handled accordingly. This isn't a topic either for players who are banned to try and prove their innocence, we have staff reports and appeals for this and it should be utilised. Same as before, if this is the case then I want to see it submitted. Come together as one and share valid and constructive feedback, constant back and forth with members only floods and hides what could be important messages.1 point

This topic very obviously is a hit piece created for the sole purpose of targeting a specific staff member (who had plenty of faults of his own in his fate) by people who believe themselves to be the smartest guys in the room, but at least proves that if a bait is taken earnestly, constructive discussion can sprout from the most unlikely of source. To move to the matter at hand, your concerns are valid, but from the other side of the barricade the perspective is flipped: law enforcement factions have been greatly restricted when it comes to the deployment of weaponry over the years. It used to be that all weapons were freely available to the most basic of officers, including entry-level positions, then usage of assault rifles was restricted to tactical teams, then MP5 usage was curtailed, then it became a requirement for LEOs to be "certified" (pass an exam on the forums after spending a significant amount of time in the faction) first to use M4s and then eventually shotguns as well, and the number of people who could be certified was limited as well. There's also a plethora of internal regulations that prevent LEO roleplayers from carrying out actions that used to be very common (shooting tires, deploy beanbags against motorcycle riders, etc.). On top of this, several OOC rules were established by LFM which, if broken, can result in severe punishment for the player, along with internal faction discipline. In short, the regular officer/deputy only has a handgun at their disposal unless they put time and effort in to earn a qualification, and they're still limited in what they can do with it, whereas any criminal roleplayer can tap into their private weapon stock they've been accumulating since 2014, grab three friends and use them on the flimsiest of excuses with little to no requirements. It doesn't mean some restrictions weren't needed, but the constant race for realism and "fairness" all the regulations resulted in a situation where most LEO roleplayers are typically underpowered and saddled with rules against parties who couldn't care less about either two of those aspects. It's doubly ironic when considering all the limitations were originally enacted as a way to "improve police roleplay" by teaching people how to roleplay around these weapons, yet firearm-related roleplay is basically unheard of in both factions, usually entirely revolving around taking or placing the M4 in the patrol car gun rack. That's the police roleplay equivalent of a cancer that, though repeatedly defeated, tends to reoccur from time to time, with no long-term cure in sight. All law enforcement factions regularly happen to have among their ranks a member or a group of members who believe Training Day or The Shield are the greatest thing since bread came sliced and roleplay as if they're CRASH in the 90s and recordings aren't a thing or the LASD is still under the Baca administration and they aren't being hit by a new whistleblower lawsuit every month. It was particularly noticeable in the "!!!" era of LSSD, where a group of faction members would routinely beat people, including other deputies, in many cases for no particular reason other than being edgy, but the LSPD also had plenty of occasions to shine in that regard as both factions rushed to adopt each other's trends, both good and bad. Once again, in a way that shows how truly ironic life can be, the portrayal of corruption was much more amateurish after all the "realistic" revamps than it was under Westbrook's leadership of GND, when it was more severe but in a sensible way that didn't stretch the suspension of disbelief. Even SADOC had its moment, however brief it was, when inmate and CO roleplayers used Discord to arrange times for stabbings to take place and riots to erupt in a true show of organic roleplay. The most comical of corruption scenarios usually take a combination of overzealous players who take their role way too seriously or want to enrich their portrayal by use the most trite dramatic device in the form of corruption (bonus points if their character's also an alcoholic or suffers from an addiction), a faction leadership that connives with them because of ignorance or interest and an LFM team that's too apathetic to actually carry out it duties. These planets rarely align. But when they do, good police roleplay gets eclipsed.1 point

my post may get deleted after this, but im not surprised at the playerbase dropping. you got admins like Eren banning players without even asking both parties what exactly is going on. ive been banned twice by eren and in both those occasions not once was i asked what am i doing, what lead to this xyz. never have i ever seen that happen on lsrp. what is this? a dictatorship? in my honest opinion, ifm never really had a backbone, they never really put their foot down and was too scared to outvote people in management and get rid of certain people who have clearly done wrong. as always, when you make a staff report, nothing really happens as the outcome. why is management too scared to get rid of staff members that are clearly incompetent and making the playerbase decrease even more? ive heard and seen so many scenes of ScubaStef trying to fish more DM, but when he gets absolutely killed in a scene, he tends to cry like a little baby. is this the attitude an admin should have? especially if you're on /duty and spawn back in with the guns. honestly @Iudex im not surprised ScubaStef is a notorious rulebreaker and leaker, people think they can get away because they're admin, and that tends to be the problem. when testers were reported at the peak of the server, the testers were clearly in the wrong but they were brought back because of "clean staff record" when it was blatant DM. why are we bringing back staff members who are blatantly rulebreaking and killing anyone and everyone for no reason? what on earth is "clean staff record" and "education over punishment"? i've seen someone with one ban from years ago get banned for DMing, this clearly isn't education over punishment people don't make staff reports because it's too much of an effort to go on the forums and wait weeks for it to get handled you remove admins like @Iudex who actually know what they're doing and how to actually administrate on the server, a good admin on the server. but yet you keep admins like scubastef who are abusing their position and singlehandedly ruining the playerbase1 point
