Can we bring back the old playerbase count?

For this to happen, Userone would need to start doing videos regularly again (and another pandemic), otherwise i don't see this happening because samp is quite old and people are moving on to new games

No. It doesn't matter how many influencers make videos on the server, it will never have the pull it did back then. You got to remember when it was really "old times", a lot of us was teenagers / early adults with little to no responsibilities, GTA 5 RP servers weren't about, different types of games weren't about, and the whole roleplay on SAMP idea was still fresh. LSRP has really maxed out what it can do, and you can only do so much with SAMP. Player's prefer voice over text roleplay, players prefer playing other games and discarding roleplay all together. There's nothing possible for 700+ players online at one time again, hate to be that person to pop that hope.

For the server to start growing again or even remaining at it's current player counts, it's gotta be technically stable. I saw the player count dip in the last couple weeks by a solid 40 players during peak hours all because of the regular crashes. You really gotta push SAMP to it's limits with server sided content, new scripts and mods for it to remain interesting in 2024. But you will prolly in to technical issues if you do that too quick.

What about having younger generations start playing LSRP?

First of all in my opinion the current lsrp management need to decide that “we are moving to open mp” first move! After that the server will be more stable with less crashes and issues in my opinion that because they will have full supported side from the open mp developers, 2nd those updates during Sundays and holidays are horrible ideas! Do the updates schedule during the week and. Or at the weekends one players trying to play and have time to play, after they see couples of crashes they just leave.. try to bring more players by advertising the server every where, you should create a huge UNBAN sessions let’s say around the Christmas for those who was banned not for hacking or mass DM but those ppl who was banned due to breaking the Roleplay rules or bad admin records! I know that might be crazy but some of them will return and want to return to play! Some of them even trying to void ban just to play not for mass dming or ruining the server! Think about that!

I don't really agree with everything that was stated here, but I'd want to bring up the statements that I do agree with.

- Server restarts have as you said probably been one of the biggest reasons for shrinking the playerbase, minimizing these crashes should be the top priority for server growth and survival.

- Updates being done on Sundays is not a net positive in my opinion either, whilst it's fun to look through the new update the restarts always kills any momentum for the server, this has been the case for the last couple of weeks. I'd say that one crash/restart is enough to kill momentum for 20 players. Several crashes in one day can lead to a loss of over 50 players at peak times.

First of all.. the argument that "we are adults with responsibilities" is not entirely valid because everyone can find some free time to play if they want to. If you don't want to, that's a different matter.

But it does matter, because I myself did not know that SAMP was a thing until I discovered some videos on youtube. There are a lot of people that are not even aware what role-play games are. Besides, nostalgia can drive interest in people?

I am not here to judge people's preferences, but, I honestly don't understand why anyone would want voice roleplay when it ruins the immersion. And, LSRP it might not be 'perfect' but there's still potential for a dedicated community if the server evolves and new people discover it

They're born into much more realistic and better games than GTA:SA

PLEASE! I hate people who don't try games just because of graphics 🙄

Yeah, I agree on all points, it's just more my opinion than factual so don't take it as facts.

If I had never played LS:RP or even SAMP, and I was my age, I probably wouldn't even bother, you got to take into account the pull the server had on the re-open to where it is now. We came back to a very hard topic in terms of economy. We either start from scratch (and lose a good majority) or we keep the economy (and lose a good majority) because of the "unfair" (which really isn't unfair) advantage... I do feel like new players should of been awarded a boost rather than thrown into the deep end we all faced when we first played (the 15/20k starting money).. The reboot was harsh. Gun economy was insane, players demotivated from the certain facts of the server, etc etc. It's a sore subject, I just don't think we'll ever get "old times" back again. One and done in my opinion..

SAMP is an old platform and I'll say it again. Look at what Five:M is doing. Insane development and so much more features, and I'm comparing the two because it's mainly rivals if you look at it in terms of roleplay for GTA games... There are different games, I don't think people like being camped inside a house and roleplaying in such a toxic elite atmosphere.

Sorry if i sounded harsh with my replies.. I did not mean it xd ❤️
All jokes aside. I really wish I had discovered SAMP when it was at its peak. But even if I had, I was a kid back then sooo I probably would have been making cringe stuff... Seriously, I feel like I missed out on a lot of great things, it sucks 😞

I was a kid when I came across LSRP, managed to get in for the peak times, was definitely a fun era and cannot be replicated. Prayers for those who missed out.
