  2. Sorry, I don't want to add to the dog pile you're experiencing right now with basically the entire faction giving you our perspective, but I do think I have a few things to add. First, I think your concern is absolutely legitimate, and it's something I do have concern about. Should a faction like Code Enforcement stifle potential business role play? Of course that answer should be no. The relationship between CEB and businesses should be mutually beneficial. As in real life, there is always some tension between government regulations, city officials and business owners/operators. It's something I've experienced in my own life being a landlord, where government inspectors have made me spend $50,000 on repairs that I viewed as totally cosmetic. But back to LS-RP, I do think CEB gives substantial leeway to businesses, at least I have whenever I interact with them. As for bouncer RP, perhaps my favorite RP experiences was interacting with SOVA and its owner Murat Gusaraov over this exact issue. Murat expressed the frustrations you had, but ICly, as any business owner would do. And I believe Declan ICly was completely understanding and gave him plenty of leeway to make up the deficiency. To me this is how things should be handled, as it replicates the real life tension, without harming roleplay environments too much. However, when there is no give on the part of the business owner, what is left to do but close it and fine the owner? It's the recognition of that IRL power imbalance that leads to people just complying with government regulations rather than trying to subvert them constantly. I do think CEB can make improvements in our roleplay, however we are a very small faction, and we have even fewer very active members. It takes some time to get comfortable with the rules, so at first everyone is very robotic (at least I was). But you get comfortable as you go on and get to add your own flair to the experience. Some specific suggestions you may have I think would be appreciated that don't involve just a complete dereliction of the IG legal obligations of CEB.
  3. Jon Reynolds, The Everyday Man Jon Reynolds was born Jonathan Bufford in the eighties. Though not yet quite middle-aged, he definitely lives, and appears the part. He has a long storied life, partly in Los Santos, partly in San Fierro. The early years of his life were spent as a firefighter in the Los Santos Fire Department, where he met and eventually married Doctor David Reynolds, changing his name to Jon Reynolds. While the relationship was rosey and happy at first, it quickly devolved as the two conflicting personalities were unable to mold to each other's quirks. The relationship ended after a couple of years and they divorced. Unable to deal with the close proximity of their daily work lives, Jon made the decision to move to San Fierro where he got a career as a laborer in a construction firm of a family friend where he spent nearly ten years. In early 2025 Jon's mother's health declined quite rapidly, and he was forced to return to Los Santos to care for her in her late age. While doing so, he left his construction management job and got a job with the City of Los Santos as a Code Enforcement Officer. The rest is history.
