Statement Forget the bullshit. Ignore the bollocks. Los Santos needs independent news, and recent events have proven exactly why. For too long, this city has relied on outlets tied to money, influence, or personal status. Stories are filtered, reshaped, or silenced entirely—because someone, somewhere, benefits from keeping you in the dark. That’s not news. That’s propaganda. I didn’t come to Los Santos to play by those rules. I came here to report the truth, unfiltered and uncut. Why Independent News Matters I’ve spent my career covering everything from corruption in local police forces to the conflicts that shape the world overseas. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when truth is buried: people suffer, communities fracture, and criminals thrive. In every city, those with power want to keep it that way. But the people of Los Santos deserve better. You deserve to know what’s happening in your streets, your neighborhoods, and your city hall—without interference, without censorship, without someone pulling strings behind the scenes. The Current Landscape The mainstream outlets in Los Santos do fine work when they want to. Crime stories, political headlines, the occasional feel-good feature—they’re all there. But what about the gaps? What about the voices ignored, the deals made behind closed doors, the victims left unheard? Those stories rarely see the light of day, and that’s exactly where I come in. The Mission I’m not here to curry favor. I’m not here to protect reputations. And I’m certainly not here to make friends with the powerful. My mission is simple: uncover the stories that matter, bring them directly to you, and give every citizen of this city the knowledge they need to stay informed, safe, and empowered. Some people call it reckless. Others call it dangerous. I call it journalism. A Voice for Los Santos Los Santos is a city brimming with untold stories. From the struggles of everyday workers, to the rise in organized crime, to the quiet corruption that snakes its way through institutions—these are the truths that shape our lives, whether we see them or not. It’s time they came to light. I’m Barry Martin. I report without fear, without compromise, and without influence. Independent news isn’t just important—it’s essential. And in Los Santos, it’s long overdue.
