Mission Statement and Values Mount Zonah Medical Center is a nonprofit, independent healthcare organization committed to improving the health status of San Andreas through leadership and excellence in delivering quality healthcare services, expanding the horizons of medical knowledge through biomedical research, and educating and training physicians and other healthcare professionals. Quality patient care is our priority. Providing excellent clinical and service quality, offering compassionate care, and supporting research and medical education are essential to our mission. This mission is founded in the ethical and cultural precepts of the western medical tradition built upon the Hippocratic Oath, which inspires devotion to the art and science of healing and to the care we give our patients and staff. Hospital Structure Board of Directors (( NPC )) The Board of Directors is responsible for providing strategic oversight and governance to the hospital's operations and policies. They make crucial decisions concerning financial matters, quality of care, and overall direction of the institution. Additionally, they appoint and evaluate the hospital's chief medical officers to ensure efficient and effective management. (( Because Mount Zonah falls under the FD only on an OOC-basis, the Fire Chief can stand in place of the Board of Directors, giving an in-character reason for changes urged by the Fire Chief. )) Board of Governors (( NPC )) The Board of Governors, established by the Board of Directors in 1971, has become the primary fundraising and leadership development group at Mount Zonah. Their mission is to support Mount Zonah's foremost clinical programs, biomedical research, and community outreach by providing financial resources, educational experiences, and volunteer opportunities. Human Resources (( Partially NPC )) Human Resources professionals handle a wide range of functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, physician/nurse training and development, performance management, benefits administration, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Their primary goal is to support the medical center's employees, foster a positive work environment, and align HR practices with the overall strategic objectives of the company. (( HR is comprised of the Chief Medical Officers and Hospital Supervisors. )) Chief Medical Officers Chief of Medicine Deputy Chief of Medicine The Chief Medical Officers serve as the clinical leadership of Mount Zonah Medical Center and are responsible for setting medical standards, protocols, and policies. They play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and clinical outcomes. CMOs also collaborate with the hospital's administrative leadership to align medical practices with the organization's strategic goals and maintain the highest standards of medical excellence. They are also charged with maintaining the hospital's competitive residency program. The current Chief of Medicine is Dr. David A. Reynolds, MD, FACS, FACC. Hospital Supervisors Attending Physician Hospital Supervisors are experienced medical doctors who are responsible for the direct care of patients within Mount Zonah. They chair specialty teams, supervise residents and medical students, and make critical decisions regarding patient diagnosis, treatment plans, and overall management. Attending Physicians play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible medical care and are actively involved in providing guidance and expertise to the healthcare team. Hospital House Staff Fellow Chief Resident Resident Intern Hospital House Staff are doctors who play a crucial role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of attending physicians and the CMOs. House Staff members actively involved in patient assessments, treatment planning, and medical procedures, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience and furthering their medical education. Nursing Staff (( All NPC )) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Nursing Staff provide essential patient care and support within our facility. They play a critical role in maintaining patients' well-being by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and providing emotional support. Nursing Staff also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care, contributing significantly to the overall healthcare experience and patient outcomes. Our Residency Program Mount Zonah's accredited residency program trains physicians in their chosen fields, from pediatrics, primary care and internal medicine to anesthesiology, pharmacy and nursing. Our programs are highly competitive and allow our residents to enhance their skills in one of the top hospitals in the country. Our programs are led by some of the nation's best physician-educators. We are at the forefront of medicine and innovation, translating groundbreaking discoveries into successful treatments with global impact. Resident Physicians, upon successful completion of medical school, join our staff as Interns (PGY-1 of Residency). They are responsible for working under the supervision of other physicians, as well as performing and recording basic diagnostic and treatment procedures. Interns conduct rounds with each specialty that the Medical Center offers before choosing a specialty of their own. Medical Students can apply for Residency at Mount Zonah using the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) (( fire.lsgov.us )). Our Residency program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Our Fellowship Program With an emphasis on collaborative, multidisciplinary patient care, Mount Zonah offers fellowship experiences across an array of programs. Fellows work shoulder to shoulder with some of the nation’s best physician-educators and have full access to top-of-the-line resources and facilities. Currently, Mount Zonah Medical Center offers ten fellowship programs. Each Fellowship may last from one to three years. The fellowship selected must generally align with the specialty chosen during residency. Cardiothoracic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of organs in the chest, generally the heart and lungs. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Clinical Neurophysiology focuses on the clinical and surgical treatment of the nervous system, generally the brain, spine, and nerves. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN). Clinical Psychiatry focuses on the clinical treatment of mental disorders. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). Critical Care Medicine focuses on the treatment of critical illness, providing life support, invasive monitoring, resuscitation, and end-of-life care. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). Emergency Medicine focuses on illnesses and injuries that require immediate treatment, typically in the Emergency Room. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). General Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of the abdominal organs, generally the gastrointestinal system. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Medical Oncology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO). Obstetrics & Gynecology focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive system. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). Orthopedic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of musculoskeletal system, generally the bones and muscle structures. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS). Trauma Surgery focuses on the surgical and non-surgical, acute treatment of traumatic injuries. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is entitled to become a member of the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT); however, COT will not be appended to the physican's title, only FACS. Los Santos Fire Department The Los Santos Fire Department preserves life and property, promotes public safety and fosters economic growth through a commitment to prevention, preparedness, response and recovery as an all risk life safety response provider. We provide exceptional Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services by being metric driven, technologically sophisticated and community focused while reflecting the people we serve. Our motto, “Serving with Courage, Integrity, and Pride”, emphasizes our department's core values, and is what leads each and every single one of our employees in their day-to-day duties, so that our community can be safe and protected around the clock. Within each Operation are various Bureaus that house divisions relevant to their specific functions. This organization structure is designed to better delegate the department's resources, so that every aspect is covered thoroughly and efficiently. The Administration Bureau is directly responsible for handling all matters revolving around department personnel. Discussions relating to positional advancement, disciplinary action, and relations with the public all happen within this bureau and its subsequent divisions. The Training and Support Bureau is responsible for the department's recruitment drives, training and certifying prospective employees, and training current department personnel so they are always prepared for their day-to-day duties. The Emergency Services Bureau oversees the prehospital care provided by firefighter/EMTs and firefighter/paramedics, who respond to medical calls and transport patients to area hospitals each day. The Operations Bureau is responsible for maintaining all relevant Fire Stations, as well as deploying specialized rescue and firefighting tactics. (( It should be noted this list only represents divisions where players actively roleplay. Realistically, the entire LAFD structure that we have used as a base would exist within the LSFD, but we cannot portray the entirety of that structure with the number of players involved. )) Administration Bureau: Professional Standards Division Human Resources Division Employee Relations Division Training and Support Bureau: Firefighter Recruitment Section Recruit Services Section In-Service Training Section Emergency Services Bureau: Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) Unit Air Operations Unit Paramedic Training Unit Operations Bureau: Fire Station 7 Fire Station 11 Urban Search and Rescue (( The current list of Bureaus and Divisions represent what we as a Faction roleplay around, though some may not be implemented during the beginning of the RageMP server to allow us to focus on the Faction's basic structure. This is subject to change at the discretion of Faction Leadership. )) Ranking Structure Chief Fire Officers Fire Chief The Fire Chief is considered the General Manager of the department, and is responsible for overseeing development and overall operation. The main duties of the Fire Chief include: serving as the figurehead of the department at media and general events; managing the department's personnel up to Deputy Chief in accordance with department policy and public service regulations; and the development and oversight of department policy, procedures, and expectations. Deputy Chief The Deputy Chief is considered the Assistant General Manager of the department, mostly responsible for assisting the Fire Chief with the administration of the department. The main duties of the Fire Deputy Chief include: assisting the Fire Chief with the administration of the department; overseeing the department's personnel up to Fire Assistant Chief; ensuring departmental policies, procedures, expectations, and public service regulations are upheld; and assuming command of the Fire Department with full authority in the absence of the Fire Chief. Assistant Chief The Fire Assistant Chief plays an important part in the administration of the department, overseeing all Stations, Fire Battalion Chiefs and running one of the Operations. The main duties of the Fire Assistant Chief include: overseeing the department's personnel up to Fire Battalion Chief; ensuring department policy, procedure, expectations, and public service regulations are upheld; handling all requests within their assigned Operation; finalizing promotions when necessary; and liaising with other departments and teams in situations that warrant such liaison. Fire Officers Battalion Chief Battalion Chiefs have a more direct line of communication with department employees, overseeing Stations within his or her Battalion. Fire Battalion Chiefs are responsible for personnel management and other administrative affairs. They are mostly responsible for personnel-related administrative affairs. Captain II Captain IIs are mostly responsible for interacting with his or her relative station personnel in the field, informing them on his or her progress, and monitoring how well he or she performs. Fire Captain IIs are also tasked with handling personnel-related administrative affairs within his or her Station, alongside of the Station Battalion. Captain I Fire Captain Is are mostly responsible for interacting with his or her relative station personnel in the field, responding to calls with them, informing them on his or her progress, and monitoring how well he or she performs. Fire Captain Is are also tasked with handling personnel-related administrative affairs within their station, alongside of the Station Battalion and the Station Captain. Firefighter-Paramedics Engineer Engineer is the department's Field Training Officer II role, and is the most senior non-commissioned position a member can achieve within the department, with its main focus being towards training and testing new members. Engineers actively assist, train and observe newer department employees, including answering any questions they may have. They demonstrate a proactive stance on both firefighting and medical calls equally. They also help their Station Captains in overseeing the Field Training Program. Firefighter III Firefighter III is the department's Field Training Officer I role, with its main responsibility being the training and testing of new members. Firefighter IIIs actively assist, train and observe newer department employees, including answering any questions they may have. They demonstrate a proactive stance on both firefighting and medical calls equally. Firefighter II Firefighter II is the most common and essential position of the department, with its high level of focus on field work, held by all fire-sworn personnel who have passed the Field Training Program, with the exception of a Field Training Officer and above. Their main duties include: responding to medical and firefighting calls as needed; acting as role-models to less experienced members of the department, and participating in household chores around their assigned station. Firefighter-EMTs Firefighter I Firefighter I is the lowest-grade fire-sworn position of the department, with the main goal of gaining knowledge and experience through practical duties alongside seasoned Firefighters. Their main duties include: working towards the completion of the Field Training Program, gaining and demonstrating knowledge and improvement through actions in practice, and responding to medical and fire scenes with other members of the department. Firefighter Reserve Firefighter Reserve is the department's part-time position for employees who are unable to dedicate to a full shift. Their main duties include: responding to medical and firefighting calls as needed, and participating in household chores around their assigned station.
