  1. The lowrider culture in the Unity area of Los Santos began in the 1940s. Mexican American communities started customizing their cars to ride low and slow, in contrast to the fast hot rods. This cultural shift was not only about modifying cars but also about expressing pride and resilience against racism. Unity became the focal point of this culture. Car clubs and events were established here. These events were about more than just cars; they were about sharing heritage and fostering community. With their unique appearance and hydraulic systems, the lowriders became symbols of identity and creativity. Despite facing challenges such as racial tensions and gang issues, the culture's core values of pride, creativity, and community remained strong. Today, the lowrider scene in Unity persists, cherished by genuine car enthusiasts who honor the movement's early pioneers.
