  4. From GodFather RP to LS-RP – A Story Worth Telling As LS-RP celebrates its 18th year, I can’t help but look back at where it all started for many of us. Long before this server became what it is today, we were just a bunch of passionate roleplayers trying to find our place, and for me, it all began with the GodFather RP server. Back then, around 2005 to 2007 if memory serves, we were all part of the same faction, the Cuneo faction, led by Jonathan Doe, and later taken over by Margus. We were a tight-knit group and honestly, we probably took the game a bit too seriously. By the time GF-RP reached its final days, Cuneo owned almost everything: player-owned houses, businesses, you name it. Margus even ran the only gun shop on the server and had stacked up close to 2 billion in-game dollars. It was a wild time. Eventually, things reached a boiling point. Some drama sparked between the scripters, Fear was the main one back then, and the server was wiped. When it relaunched, everything had changed. There were no name tags, no OOC hints, you had to actually talk to people and figure out who they were. It was immersive, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. After that wipe, Amef, K, and I decided to try something different. Me and Amef are real-life friends, and we had played with K on GF-RP. K knew some scripting, so we figured it was worth a shot to build something of our own. We launched a small server, hosted on K's backup PC at home, and within a month or so, we had over 50 players online at all times. The numbers kept climbing. I was just 17 years old, had recently quit school to look for work, but instead I found myself glued to the server with Amef, playing day and night to grow the community. Then Mow joined and offered to host the server on a better computer, and that pushed everything forward even more. One of the key people who joined us early on was Fed. He brought a lot of creativity to the scripting side and was responsible for developing one of the first versions of the vehicle system, along with many other features that helped set the server apart. His contributions laid a solid base for what came next and helped bring the world of LS-RP to life. Hreno stepped in with a huge amount of dedication. He wasn’t just helping out casually, he sometimes spent up to 14 hours a day coding to improve the server and push features forward. His commitment and effort during that phase were a massive part of the foundation. Following that, DamianC came on board. He was part of the SA-MP tester team at the time and brought a more structured and experienced approach to scripting. That was another major turning point that helped LS-RP grow into something truly stable and long-lasting. Fun fact for those who didn’t know: our first forum domain was kjelvik.net/forum, before we managed to scrape together enough money to buy the LS-RP.com domain. Humble beginnings for sure. We brought in most of the old GF-RP player base, including nearly all of the original Cuneo members, and from there we started doing what we loved most, mafia roleplay the old way. And now, all these years later, I also want to give massive respect to the current leadership. A huge shoutout to mmartin, who has been running the show as developer and owner for what feels like forever. The work, the consistency, and the dedication it takes to carry this community forward year after year is no small task. Thank you for taking LS-RP to this level and keeping it alive for a whole new generation to experience. So here’s to the old days To Jonathan Doe(R.I.P) and Margus, leaders of the Cuneo faction To the Cuneo crew and LS-RP beginning: SpitZ, Giorgio Moretti, Fed, Monty Carlo, Tobin Wright, Pxm, and Amef (and mostlikely many more) To the admins messing around To the grind, the fun, the chaos, the friendships, and the factions we built together To everyone who played a part, big or small And to mmartin and the current team for keeping the flame burning And of course, happy 18th birthday to LS-RP Here’s to another 18 years of chaos, stories, and community

  14. Thank you for this feedback. A communication stream between admins and content creators is one of the main reasons that we put this together. Adding to the system we plan to create a way for better communication, along with the ability to make unique requests to help with content creation.

  15. Fantastic initiative, when I make my grand return I shall be partaking in some LS-RP content creation. Some additional creation tools within RAGE would be great as well, for official partners only to avoid abuse but something like freecam would be beneficial for more cinematic creators.

  16. I'm glad content creators are finally getting some representation and recognition in LSRP. I can foresee a lot of benefits from this system: Better free marketing for LSRP. Thus, more players playing on LSRP. Thus, potentially a better experience for all players on LSRP (new or old). However, I'm worried that these perks may incentivize a popularity contest. Which, in content creation isn't uncommon, but it does have some potentially problematic effects: The most popular content by far is action-packed or drama-packed, thus content creators may be incentivized to manifest false drama when they otherwise wouldn't have. Administration can leverage what kind of content they personally prefer to see, rather than allowing the people to decide for themselves. This can incentivize content-creators to go outside of their area of expertise, and thus potentially may result in subpar roleplay. The kind of perks, which I personally think would directly benefit content creators and LSRP at large: Better means of communication between staff & content creators. Equal treatment of all content creators. Paid marketing. Great work on the progress, let's keep it going.

  27. LSRP walked so BARP could run. But every athlete knows their prime time is only limited. So in it's wisdom BARP stepped down so LSRP could soak in the glory of retirement. SAMP is the game with the TWENTY YEAR legacy. It is the DON. The chief executive of all multiplayer mods in existence. Remember MTA? Yeah, you probably DONT because it doesn't have legacy, it doesn't have prestige. SAMP forever.

  28. Pretty cool that it's rebounding. Drop some emails with install instructions. Youtube tutorials, etc. Try and organize higher peaks, then market them. I haven't played in a while but I hope you guys have loosened the new player restrictions as well, the level reqs for mask, gun, scams/robberies, etc were absurdly high, it was like 100 hours before you could use a mask.

  29. SA-MP built this community. I was one of the first admins here. I saw it grow from the ground up, and I’ll always respect the legends who built LS-RP on SA-MP. What they created is unmatched. The true foundation of GTA roleplay, still the gold standard to this day. Just a few years ago, it was damn near impossible to log into the server because it was so packed. Today? We're lucky if there’s 130 players online. Back then, 130 was dead, barely anyone around. That shows you how far we've fallen. And yet, some want to sideline the only platform that's ever worked just to chase a dead-end with RageMP? That's straight up delusional. RageMP isnt "an option". It's a graveyard. GTA 5 is about to get buried the moment GTA 6 drops, and while the smart communities are moving on, you're acting like it's the future Come on, wake up. SA-MP still holds untapped potential that no other platform can touch. The question isnt "could it work?". It does work, it has worked, and with the right push, it will dominate again. But none of that happens without US. This is more than just a server - It's our home, our culture, our community. We win by building together, by uniting behind one vision, one platform, one mission. If you want to be part of something real, stop fumbling both balls and start winning with the one platform that's proven itself time and time again. So to everyone here, respectfully: Let's back the legacy, fuel the comeback, and show the world why SA-MP is, and always will be the heart of GTA roleplay. Together, we rise. Devided we fall. - Packer
