Just another person on LSRP.

Karty is the spark that will trigger LEOs to stop tapping W in a cruiser slowly passing a group of RPers and asking if they can see any bulges in their pants.

We've updated our TeamSpeak policy for less reliance on communications outside of the game. TeamSpeak communications usually don't involve true roleplay and are only coordinating units when it could be done in-game.

To TL;DR the policy deputies will only be allowed to use TeamSpeak when being shot at (only to initially call it out, all further communication must be done in-game and in-game is still preferred to even call it out.). During vehicle and foot pursuits which are actually moving to update the location only. Coordination of units, spike requests, mode switches, and terminations will only be done using in-game communication. Special Operations that arent covered with the above will require permission from Executive Staff and will have strict rules in place along with monitoring to ensure metagaming rules aren't broken and our standards are met.

We'll continue to evaluate policies and make changes where we determine changes are needed to increase our standards.

Quick update regarding what we're up to.

First I'd like to thank @Scumpy and @who is horizon for starting to provide some in depth MCB roleplay. While the team involved with MCB isn't big, it is dedicated and filled with people who promote development over all else.

I'd also like to shout out @Dat_Block for helping us get SEB back on track. They've been deployed a few times as of recent and I've witnessed some really good situations with them.

Currently I'm working on an updated OOC guide for our faction members to go on. This will go over concepts such as playing for quality, proper character development, and generally how we expect people to act within the faction when roleplaying. There's already some really good guides on our forums for LASD terminology and tradition but it misses a couple points regarding the standards we're enforcing.

Otherwise we're feeling quite stable. We did have a couple of our guys resign as they weren't able to provide as much time as first believed but I'm still confident in our ability to continue operating and we've filled most of those spots already.

One thing I'll note is I've yet to receive any public feedback and I'd really like some, positive or negative. If you don't feel like putting it here you're free to shoot me a DM! Look forward to providing another update soon.

So does that mean with restricting the usage of TS3 we'd be moving towards in-game radio channels that can support VOIP, or would deputies have to type during pursuits and other similar scenarios?

Using /r is the preferred method of communication unless it's not possible (such as driving during a pursuit). Once a situation is static members are expected to use in-game communication instead of speaking over teamspeak. We won't fault anyone for using teamspeak in a situation which it was impossible to type such as being shot at or driving in a pursuit.

Real quick update on things. We've done some internal moves. I've been moved up to Sheriff as nicholas unfortunately got a new position at his job right as we began and it resulted in him not being able to be as active as he had hoped. We'll still be keeping him around in an advisory role. @Scumpy has been moved to the Assistant Sheriff position. He will still run MCB. He was originally supposed to be a member of ES but we ended up getting more people on board so he took a step back. This only changes our titles rather than the actual work we're contributing. The main post has been updated.

We're still working on a ton of things behind the scenes such as updating forum sections, and creating a to-do list to keep updated. We're satisfied with our application numbers so far and we look forward to seeing new faces.

I've been pretty quiet here but overall that's a good thing. We continue to update policy as we see it. Our in-game presence remains high and this has been encouraged by seeing recent player peaks in the low 200's.

We did create an OOC guide for faction members to more clearly understand the mindset we want them to have. We've had some minor issues with mentality but it's addressed as it's noticed and OOC punishments are issued when required. Still looking for feedback from the public. In the future we intend to host more events for the public to attend and interact with us.

We recently surpassed 100 members in the faction and have over doubled our activity based on our statistics which will be out in the newsletter soon. This is amazing and I can't thank everyone who's been involved enough.

Full transparency here, we will likely be closing our recruitment, and external/lateral transfers soon. Reinstatements will likely remain open. If you've been on the fence about joining the faction, now is the time to do so. Though they won't remain closed forever we're very happy with our faction numbers currently.

There have been some issues with communication at the higher levels of the faction. These have led to silly decisions and perhaps some confusing wording. However we've had some heart to heart conversations and I do believe we can remedy these with some internal changes.

We also brought back the SOD Commander Slot as we intend to grow SOD to once again fully include Aero Bureau and likely K-9 as we get closer to the RAGE release. ESD will likely not be returning.

Not a ton to report but I would like to mention we've re-opened our Traffic Services Detail to offer some more roleplay within patrol than just jumping from call to call. For now it'll focus mainly on traffic related incidents and crimes but in the future (when RAGE launches) we'll likely toss a vehicle theft taskforce into it. We did recently do a DUI checkpoint and had a good turnout for it as well as plenty of people who came by it either intentionally or unintentionally and got to RP with us.

@Justitiae has been moved up to Chief of Staff in the Division Chief slot and I can't thank him enough for the work he's done within the faction. The next big project for us will be to go through our manual of policies and get it cleaned up or re-done depending on circumstances. It'll likely be done over a few weeks to prevent burnout.

We're still content with our activity and have anywhere from 10-20 on during peak times.

Admittedly the last week and a half or so have been rough. We saw our activity plummet unexpectedly and this combined with a couple poorly timed resignations really hurt us. We're currently seeking letters of interest for one of our Captain slots, this is available to faction members only currently.

We're working on some internal plans to do a little restructuring to limit how many command staff we rely on to function normally. This includes mainly consolidation of some things. One person leaving shouldn't put us in a chokehold but with the way things are currently set up, it does. Hopefully it won't be such a severe issue in the future.

With this said I am hopeful it's just a phase of low activity given how high we were just weeks ago. I've made it clear to the faction that I remain dedicated and will continue working to not only improve it but play alongside the faction members.

I've also implemented a faction advisor system in which select members of the faction will be able to comment early on upcoming changes to the faction and provide their insight. It's mainly intended for Supervisory staff and below as those are the opinions that we often don't hear enough of. The hope is this will improve communication in both directions and result in more meaningful changes that a larger part of the faction can enjoy.

As always we're looking for public feedback.
