Dont forget about the lawnmower script.

The current development team's work is insulting, and it feels like they're doing the bare minimum rather than working out of passion. Last year, when threads of this nature were popping up, suggestions were made to streamline the new player experience (fixing the janky UCP, changing the spawn point to a more populated area so people don't have to run all the way there, making skins pick-able on character creation so people don't have to log in with a clown skin), those suggestions were acknowledged by the admin team at the time. You also have hours on hours of work to be done, which lay in the suggestions subforum - a subforum that might as well not exist. Angellify suggested a /changeclothes tweak MONTHS ago and that suggestion has never been looked at. In fact, I have another one which IFT has actually PUSHED to be worked on, still to no fruition. If we can't get simple script changes (that the players actually want!) pushed, because the development team is working on... ...Then you cannot blame anybody for shitting on the staff team at large. And this 'blaming' is another gripe people have, and have voiced, with the admin team. In the past you have shut down threads like this for going off topic, in your pursuit of 'keeping things clean', you give more power for trolls to get threads shut down. Threads that serve as a great forum for people to voice their opinions; you just need to make the bare minimum effort of skipping past obvious shit-stirrers.

What do we have to lose by doing a drastic change? Trying something new? Can it get any worse? You've got this impossible mindset that nothing is getting better, no point in trying, from the actual lead admin, you're the leader of the pack, come on. Boost the morale. Let's go.
-
Then those people shouldn't play a roleplay server, how are the rules that encourage realistic interactions at fault because you can't handle being the losing party? You're not gonna win every situation, absolute childish response and mentality.

I want to genuinely respect and acknowledge @Alooshwho chose to speak honestly in this thread. That kind of transparency takes courage, especially when it risks your position. The comment felt real, not defensive or scripted, and it showed that you actually care about LS-RP and want it to survive. It’s also very clear that many staff members are reading this thread, yet very few are willing to speak openly. That silence is dangerous. When people are afraid to be honest, nothing improves and the server slowly dies. This is the moment to speak up. Not later, not in private, but now. If those who care stay quiet, the community will lose all faith. Whether people agree on everything or not doesn’t matter. Honest dialogue is the only way forward. We have to come together now. If we don’t, this server will not get another chance.

SAMP has that gritty feeling that GTAW doesnt. During Covid was 900 players online, GTAV was out for 6-7 years then, why didnt they play that then? How can you say there is no magic tiktok video or instagram ad that will help? Have we tried? It's easy to go viral on TikTok. I know myself how I felt when I first saw these: https://youtu.be/5HZNRXG5Vbk?si=-rQjpmbk14IEIP8s https://youtu.be/oUBwArCln1w?si=ZzHnrOIXju45NAdR https://youtu.be/BTl3J2MDeNg?si=hJdYMyDC1K6_BPrb https://youtu.be/7g7Ir3A4xfU?si=gLHJa8TJnckIjBXn nobody comes close to this.
-
samps dead, if u cant see that ur blind moving to 5 is the only way forward but no half measures, fuck samp off for good and focus on 5, nobody playin this shit lol
-
Could not have said it better myself. Truly appreciate the honest reply. It shouldnt be so divided between staff and regulars players like it has been. Admins and staff do not lose their power or authority for discussing how to improve with regular players. and makes us respect Aloosh even more.

Hacks absolutely ruined the server. The amount of nametaggers is insane, you have nospread users that are hard to prove and blanat people using all other kind of hacks and posting videos about it when they mass DM and get banned. Rinse adn repeat. I have to ask what you are smoking because that is just not possible. Let's me REAL here for a second. Everyone that played LSRP is now onto GTA:W. SAMP is a dead platform. Hardcore text RP is a niche within a niche within a niche. There is no marketing to be made, no magic tiktok video or instagram ad that will suddenly bring 500 new players. Only way you get 600-1000 active players is if you drop from a hard core text RP server to a light core where good english is OPTIONAL. Gee, I don't know: scripts that have been continuously developed, staff that seems to listen, a complete revamp of IFM once they were found to be corrupt and such, active management, and not to mention a new platform. GTA V is way better than SAMP.

This is where the crappy rules come in play. How thick in the skull do you have to be to not realize that 7 day/permanent PKs only encourage DMers and hackers? They want to win every interaction because they don’t want to be perma pked. This only incentivizes hackers and a play 2 win mentality. It’s the same on gta world; despite the “healthy playerbase”, everyone still hacks. Nobody wants to lose even if it means paying a $20/month subscription for hacks and in the end, roleplay suffers. Revamp the rules and stop trying to be mimic gtaw/“modern” rules
-
@AlooshI do appreciate the feedback, it is honest. @risen I can't help but agree with packer.

I don’t buy the whole “hacks ruined the server” argument, honestly. That’s just not how it is. The anti-cheat on here is solid and it’s super rare for hackers to actually mess things up in any serious way. If you’re talking about that so-called weapon detector thing, come on, nobody even puts their guns in their cars anymore. That’s not what killed the server. The real problem is the attitude. When even the lead admin flat-out says, “any reopening or new server ends the same way,” that just tells you the mindset at the top. Meanwhile, servers like HZRP still have over 200 players on every day, and the Russian servers are pulling thousands. So, clearly SA:MP isn’t dead it’s just that some people gave up trying. And yeah, marketing used to be one of the best parts about LSRP. The old official LSPD cops videos the staff team made, the Gangland videos, even content from people like Deuce G, that was all gold and actually made people want to join. That’s the kind of stuff that built the community in the first place. As for the “mass unban would do more harm than good” thing. I don’t agree there either. Most of the people posting here aren’t even banned. Go through the thread, you’ll see it yourself. People just want fair treatment and some transparency back. Acting like every critic is a banned troll just makes it worse. There's also references from other threads where people say the same stuff, and the playerbase should speak for itself, you mean to tell me the reason is because you banned everyone, and thats why the numbers are so low? It's not true. How come other servers dont have that problem? Perhaps check your policy again then. How come servers like GTA World pull in a great active playerbase with text RP. Get this impossible mindset out, we used to be the best, and no one can honestly compete if we get the numbers up and change the approach and that's a fact. At the end of the day, the playerbase didn’t vanish because of hacks or bans. It’s because the spirit that made the server great in the first place just isn’t there anymore, and that’s something that can be fixed if people actually want to fix it. We literally had YBN Nahmir playing on the server, talking about it after the fame, there was a golden opportunity for marketing, but blew it yet again. Ads? Something. Mass unban and ads, great content. Go. Fuck it, what do you have to lose now? Less players? It's rock bottom. It's only up now.

On a serious note, where has all the LSRP donation money gone? Why hasn't it been used to attract new players? The server is going to stay dying if we are relying on the same players that have been around for years to keep it going, we are only getting older and running out of ideas. Some of that donation money should have been put into promoting the server on social media platforms like Tik Tok, Youtube & Instagram. You can run ad campaigns and select your target audience and gain large amounts (thousands, depending on how much you put into it) of real views by constantly being in the publics face, out of every 100 people who watch or hear about LS-RP I bet at-least a few will sign up, right now LS-RP is like some hidden secret community it needs more exposure. The leaders of the server themselves need to also decide, do they want to move to V or stick with SA-MP because trying to maintain and run both just wont work, the player base is on a steady decline and opening LSRPV will murder it. Why haven't we reached out to other community developers for help? SOLS isn't known for any form of top tier RP BUT their map is 10 times better than LS-RPs, why don't we get off our high horse and reach out, instead of splitting player bases across 2 or more /dead/ SA-MP servers.

What do admins think of a server wide temporary shutdown do for the sake of taking a step back and reassessing how to take a jab at making this server active again and aligning everyone with the same goals?
-
This response honestly explains why people feel ignored and why the server is where it is. Nobody serious is asking for a reckless mass unban. What people are asking for is nuance and accountability. Saying that permanently banned players have pushed away more people than admins, without data, review, or reflection, just shuts the door on discussion. If the bans were correct, a review process changes nothing. If they were not, refusing to revisit them guarantees long-term resentment. The fact that the same criticism about staff shows up every iteration is not proof that the community is wrong. It is proof that the core issues have never been addressed. Dismissing feedback as nostalgia or “regurgitated nonsense” is exactly how trust erodes. On marketing, admitting there is none and then explaining why it is difficult does not change the outcome. Everyone has lives. That is not unique to staff or volunteers. The difference is structure. Clear roles, small responsibilities, accountability, and direction. Saying “we tried” while nothing actually exists guarantees stagnation. The framing of everything as admins versus trolls is part of the problem. Not every disruptive player is a malicious destroyer. Many are frustrated, bored, or disengaged because they feel unheard. Treating everything as black and white enforcement creates the exact cycle you are describing. The most worrying part is the idea that SA:MP has “run its course.” That mindset is delusional. Nobody is talking about millions of players. A stable, healthy playerbase of 600 to 1000 active players is not hard. It is not ambitious. It is realistic. There are far worse games, including low effort mobile games, pulling higher daily activity. Acting like that number is unattainable is a self-inflicted loss. If leadership genuinely believes there is no future, then why would anyone invest their time, creativity, or energy into LS-RP? Complaining about bad YouTube content while doing nothing to guide, promote, or reward good content is passing responsibility downward. Culture does not fix itself. It is shaped from the top. More than anything, this reply reads like burnout mixed with defensiveness. That is understandable on a human level, but it is deadly for a community. When leadership sounds resigned, players stop believing. People are not asking for the golden days back. They are asking for direction, accountability, and a reason to believe the server still has a future. Right now, this response tells them it does not.

LSRP is not in the state we had been hoping for. Personally, I expected much more, ranging from script additions to marketing efforts. I only returned for the relaunch because I was told about it by family members; if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have even known about LSRP’s comeback. At the time, I came back with a trollish mindset. I wasn’t planning to stay for the long run, but eventually I found a group to roleplay with, began taking it seriously, and committed myself. What truly made me stay since May 2024 was hope. I hoped for a better server environment, and I hoped that those genuinely trying to bring a positive impact to the server would be supported. Unfortunately, that support was never given. Veterans of the server voiced their opinions on how to improve it, yet their feedback was never taken into consideration or acted upon. Holding onto that hope, I joined the staff team and remained as a tester for eight months. During that time, I also joined IFT because I’ve always believed that a healthy faction scene is essential to a healthy server. Throughout my time in IFT, we exhausted every possibility that didn’t involve scripting. We opened multiple initiatives to support factions, including businesses, scenarios, and access to guns and drugs. However, it seemed to have little to no impact. Most factions didn’t last long. Some struggled because they were targeted by rule-breakers, others weren’t truly there to roleplay, and some simply didn’t have the time to repeatedly write applications every time they needed an incentive to further develop their faction. One of the biggest issues with LSRP is that almost anything players want to do IC requires some form of OOC application. For example: you want to grow weed? Go apply for a drug scheme. You want to cook crack? Go apply for a scenario scheme. These roleplay scenes could have been made far less OOC-dependent for players who genuinely wanted to engage in them. Instead, whenever we suggested adding these features directly to the server, our ideas were dismissed because they would take too long to add. Now, let’s talk about the roadmap. Imagine if some of these features had already been added. They’ve been listed there for a year and seven months. Take the inventory system, for example. The amount of interest that feature alone could have brought to the server is ridiculous. The possibilities would have been endless. We could have created an economy for illegal roleplayers beyond just drugs and guns: contraband, bootlegged alcohol, cigarettes, cigars. Oh, I wish. A new phone system? Don’t get me started. SA:MP has been neglected in many ways. There are plenty of possibilities when it comes to features; there’s just nobody dedicated to implementing them. You can’t expect people to stay engaged when the server is being neglected and even simple features, such as being able to use /banktransfer outside of banks, take over five months to add. Another major issue we faced in IFT was the lack of mappers. We haven’t had a proper mapping team for as long as I can remember. I recall when Warlocks applied for custom mapping. It took over three months just to be directed to the right people. Three months just for a finished mapping to even enter the server. On top of all this, a few of us, including myself, were ready to pay a mapper outside the community for a Jefferson revamp. However, due to poor communication and lack of support, we gave up. From outside the illegal scene, I could see that other areas were also deprived. Opening businesses didn’t really serve a purpose. You could only open a strip club, a nightclub, or maybe a restaurant, hoping people would attend. You can’t target audiences beyond these because there aren’t many incentives for people to go in. Sure, there might be some meaningful roleplay at first, but it usually dies out after a few openings, as people lose interest quickly. Poor dedication from other teams alongside many other factors is why this community is sinking. The same thing happened last year and we didn’t learn from it, it’s just shameless that people have to open up these threads, time and time again, to get the attention they deserve. I’ve made it clear that we’re not heading in the right direction, only to be dismissed with “It’s a slow month.” To be honest, the staff team has failed the community. There’s been a split among us: some are here for SA:MP, while others are here for RAGE. Those focused on RAGE simply don’t care about SA:MP, and those focused on SA:MP have either given up because all the attention and effort is going into RAGE, or they’re afraid to voice their opinions. Aside from all this, in my recent endeavours with other official factions, I’ve tried to push for activity, one of those factions being Valenti. I’d like to apologize for trying to enforce such an unrealistic expectation when the server offers nothing to support your faction’s concept. I wish I could have been more helpful in changing that, but unfortunately, I’ve exhausted all ideas, and it’s difficult without support. Ten years ago, we had the player base to keep players engaged but now we don’t. The least we could have done was offer fresh content to keep people interested and show that we’re making an effort to market and advertise the server. Show them that we’re really trying.

A mass unban would do more harm than good, those players who are permanently banned have pushed away more players than admins have as a whole. This whole crusade on "staff team bad" is just regurgitated nonsense that has been thrown around every iteration of the staff team the server has ever had. There is no marketing, you're right, we've tried to get people in positions to get the ball rolling but it never amounts to anything. It's not like there is no attempt being made, the issue is people have lives and dedicating so much time into a thankless role where even if you do attempt something new, the community will shit on you either way. People break rules, hack, destroy players experiences on the server, those who are actively online trying to actually provide roleplay to their friends and others who are interested still get slammed with trolls in game. What happens when those trolls are banned? These threads pop up, "admins are destroying the server, mass unban" and the cycle continues. There are systems in place to aid people when joining the server, help people get set up with factions, but the interest just isn't there. If it is there, it's a facade and players who do create these shiny new factions will show their true intentions and start joining in the trolling, deathmatching etc themselves. They are punished, they decide to leave and take their friends with them, and suddenly admins are in the wrong for enforcing the black and white rules that have been in place for years. Out of the 4 pages of comments on this thread, there are about 3 or 4 useful ones that aren't fueled by people living in nostalgia and expecting the golden days back on a game that has simply run its course. I see people mention there are servers running alongside LS-RP that have maintained higher numbers, where? Any reopening of an old server or release of a new server ends the same way, SA:MP doesn't have the playerbase or interest in 2025. Maybe this would spike a little with advertising, and it's something that I've always wanted but it's difficult to get people who can create content or posts that generate traction and make the server look appealing. 80% of content posted on YouTube by the community is DM montages backed up by the use of hacks and their friends talking in the background. Anybody who wants to play a serious text-based roleplay server will be instantly turned away with that. I'll stand by my opinion that hacks have ruined the feel and enjoyment that we used to get out of the game. There are obviously other issues that have played a part, but the mentality and egos of players (staff and community) that feel it's required to cheat their way through RP scenarios have ruined it for myself and many many other players. The way people play video games in general in 2025 is completely different to back when we all first discovered LS-RP and logged in for the first time, there are people who still have that drive to roleplay and create stories out of their characters, but it's few and far between. A lot of the comments on here are just vague statements about potential issues, with no clear solutions mentioned, these comments don't really help anything.

Man this seriously gave me chills running down my spine.

I am standing here because this world is about to end. LS-RP is not just a server to us. It is where our identity lives. Outside of this place, many of us are nothing more than names going through routine, stress, and silence. In here, we had meaning. We had purpose. We mattered. This world gave people a life when real life gave them very little. It gave us a voice when no one listened. It gave us something to believe in when everything else felt empty. If this server ends, it is not just a game shutting down. It is the place where we felt alive disappearing with it. And that is why I am here. Not to rule. Not to control. But to take responsibility when no one else will. This community is powerful. Veterans, new players, rebels, even the ones called trolls. All of them cared enough to be here. All of them kept this world breathing. We were never weak. We were divided. I believe in bringing people back together. In rehabilitation, not exile. In rewarding creativity, not crushing it. In leadership that serves instead of standing above. We do not need millions of players. We need each other. A living community that believes this world is worth saving. Forget the differences. Forget the fights. None of it matters if the server dies. If this world ends, we all lose something we cannot replace. I am stepping forward now because someone has to. This is not just a server. This is our world. And I am willing to fight to keep it alive.

Another serious thread that turns into a shit-fest because of trollers. Why do y'all do this? Just keep shit serious and let's get some answers.
-
My fellow LSRP brother. I do not understand, not a single staff member is here to partake in the discussion to improve the state of the server, yet it's been absolutely blinking green, yellow and red in the recently browsing for 24 hours now. They're here, they're watching, but...
- Today
-
@badhbh Can you give this thread a look and give members some transparent responses on the state of the server and also constructive feedback on some community ideas within the thread to keep this dead server alive?
-
Man, we need some talks with you guys. There is no point for us to give critism like this when you're not here to participate and engage. You see the post, and everyone is upset, but still just let us talk with ourselves here? Then LSRP is really beyond saving. What choice do you have? Come on, let's revive this thing. We can do it together, just because you guys are admins doesnt mean you can also partake in this discussion. It's not only about ENFORCING rules...
