The 18th Street gang is a notorious widespread street gang that formed in the 1960s. A split from Clanton 14th Street happened, where the group wanted to make its own clique called Clanton 18th Street and accept immigrants from Central America and South America but Clanton 14th Street refused, as they were solely a Mexican-American only street gang. This caused a divide, and split internally that eventually led to 18th Street becoming its own thing and becoming bitter rivals with Clanton 14th Street. As the years went on, 18th Street grew by expanding its membership to other nationalities and races, and it was among the first multiracial, multi-ethnic gangs in Los Santos. As the 18th Street gang began to battle with more established Hispanic gangs, they began to recruit outside the Hispanic community; leading to Caucasian-Americans, African-Americans, Asian-Americans and Eurasian-Americans all joining the ranks of the street gang. Statement from Richard K. De Atley on East Los Santos Shootout: In the early hours of this morning, a tragic shootout erupted in East Los Santos, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The victims have been identified as members of the Bishops, a predominant black gang in the area. The incident took place behind a Clucking Bell restaurant, where witnesses reported a car pulling up and four gunmen opening fire. Sergeant David Morales of the Los Santos Police Department provided some details about the scene: "We received multiple calls about shots fired behind the Clucking Bell on East Los. When officers arrived, they found two deceased males, later identified as members of the Bishops gang. Preliminary investigation suggests that a vehicle approached the location, and four suspects exited the car, armed and firing indiscriminately." One local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the chaotic moments leading up to the shooting: "I was just walking home when I saw a car speed up and stop behind the Clucking Bell. Four teenagers jumped out, all holding guns. They started shooting like crazy. I hit the ground and crawled to safety, but it was terrifying." The Los Santos Police Department is urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward. "We are committed to finding those responsible for this violent act and bringing them to justice," added Sergeant Morales. "Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time."

The 6th and Felton Gangsters 18ST clique, while inspired by the real-life 18th Street – 7th and Broadway Gangsters, will maintain a unique characteristic that distinguishes it from other 18th Street factions, but like any other 18ST cliques that's not from the S/S. The clique do not fully align with the Sureño identity, this does not mean that its gang members dont roll with the Sureno Car inside the prison. It is believed that 18ST cliques that aren't S/S resist the Sureno label because of their rivalries with Sureno-affiliated gangs. This nuanced identity is understood by some, who acknowledge that 18ST is not a full Sureno hood. This is also because if 18ST were a complete Sureno hood, their tags include X3 designation like other Sureno gangs. 18th Street – 6th and Felton Gangsters: This predominately Latino street gang is based in the East Los Santos section of the city, specifically on the corner of Felton Avenue and 6th Street. They represent the fourth 18th Street gang in the central section of Los Santos. The 7th & Broadway gang, which this clique is modeled after, was founded in the 1970s.
