The Mexican cartel is a powerful and organized criminal group originating from Mexico. It is primarily involved in drug trafficking, smuggling large quantities of narcotics such as cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana into the United States. On a daily basis, cartel operations include drug production and transportation, money laundering, weapons trafficking, bribery, and violent enforcement tactics such as assassinations and kidnappings. These groups often control key smuggling routes across the US - Mexico border and maintain a strong presence in both countries through corruption and fear. Their activities have a significant impact on public safety and the stability affected by drug-related violence. The faction caters any form of character developmental roleplay on both legal and illegal. It is our goal to have a combination of criminal and legal roleplay within the community. The faction’s leadership expects all members who plan to join to do so strictly In Character. However, if you require any assistance, feel free to contact @Cranz either via Forum PM or through a private message on Discord. The Arrest of El Mayo and Its Impact on Drug Trafficking Organizations The capture of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada has affected the worldwide drug scene in a major way. The alleged head of the Sinaloa cartel, Zambada was essential to the organization, controlling a good part of the lucrative drug trade between Mexico and the U.S. Although he was known as an extremely elusive operator, whose leadership had allowed the cartel to maintain its dominance, his recent apprehension means that a major leadership vacuum has occurred. And in the drug world, where getting big bucks for the sale of goods is the prime concern, getting rid of the top bosses certainly alters the scenario at least temporarily. Following the detention of Ismael Zambada, a vacuum of power could emerge in the Sinaloa Cartel. This might lead to an internal dispute and present rival cartels with a good opportunity to beef up their operations; either of which might require law enforcement agencies to step up efforts against the Sinaloa Cartel. Traditionally, the Sinaloa Cartel manages and coordinates drug shipments with a high degree of efficiency. It has been very successful at this. Zambada has led the cartel efficiently for a very long time. His experience and leadership have been crucial to the cartel's success and to its internal stability. The arrest of El Mayo showcases how effective cooperation can be when dealing with international drug trafficking. This was not a solo caper by the Mexican authorities. It relied completely on the alliance worked out between the Mexican and U.S. authorities, who, together, directed the action that caught El Mayo and sent him to jail. The leadership of the Sinaloa Cartel is not beyond the reach of international law, even if it sometimes looks that way. The drugs are still coming. Parts of the militia that send them here are even now gearing up for a new season of violence. And yet, this is a moment to savor simply because of the seriousness of the setback it delivers to one of the two or three worst drug cartels in the world.
