akhi started following 20TH STREET GANG
-
SANTA MARIA X3 Santa Maria X3 also known as Varrio Santa Maria, or the 20th Street Gang, is a predominately Hispanic street gang located in the small community of Santa Maria. Members of the gang have seen to be claiming their own style of fashion, often featuring SM hats and t-shirts, including black bandanas even though they pay dues to the Mexican Mafia (LA EME). The PGS refers to the Pequeno Gangsters, which has been one of the gang's primary clique, after the fall of the Pee Wee Locos (PWLS) in 2020. EARLY DAYS The foundation of the gang dates back to the early 1920s, it was formed by Mexican immigrants to protect themselves from other rival groups, and racial persecution which had haunted them for years. Santa Maria Vatos was the first documented clique, the group was involved in many illicit activities, including burglary, robbery, home invasions, sale of narcotics, and car theft. In 1957, following the creation of the Mexican Mafia (LA EME), the gang adopted the trece and went by the Santa Maria Gangsters 13. The Mexican Mafia had reached out and agreed to meet up after a long standing conflict between the two. In the end, the gang paid their dues and agreed to pledge allegiance under their banner. Later that year, the gang got involved in the drug trade after becoming the newest ally of the Mexican Mafia. They relied on many sureño gangs which involved in distributing narcotics on the streets such as cocaine, marijuana, and many other substances. EVOLUTION & GROWTH After the death of Eric Ayala many riots arose throughout the streets of Santa Maria, A few teenagers from the 20ST Gangsters (20ST) started tagging up billboards and public city areas to deliver a message after the riots had substantially ended, they had been known for their street style Chicano art with their monikers on it. This however did not last for a while after the clique started getting pressured by the police and investigators, the clique had to band together and become stronger. This caught a lot of attention, they got involved in other crimes such as extortion, murder, prostitution and much more. New rivals such as 18th Street Gang, Verona 13, MS-13, Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and Culver City 13 became dominant. SMX3 became one of the most notorious gangs throughout the years for many of their violent attacks on other rival gangs, the biggest one of them involving Culver City. MODERN HISTORY These days, the original clique dominates only a small part of the town. Younger generation wanting to earn their stripes have to prove themselves, and are jumped into the gang. Members of the gang can easily be found around the Pico neighborhood or 20th Street, one of the few remaining ghettos within the community. Even though after a lot of gang injunctions which caused a lot of the members to either drop out or get incarcerated, the gang still stands and the remaining members made sure that the gang kept thriving. The new generation of members have flooded the streets and are eager to show off their loyalty and the legacy that was left behind.

"In addition to the ties between Chinatown gangs and the tongs, connections have also been made to the Triads that originated as revolutionaries during China’s Qing dynasty. While many Chinatown street gangs appear to not have been strongly affiliated with the Triads when they arose in the 1970s, in the 1980s and 1990s it is thought that these affiliations began to solidify largely due to human trafficking and the lucrative drug trade from Asia with narcotics such as heroin. Ties have been documented between North American gangs and Chinese Triads in East and Southeast Asia, but it is unclear to what extent these exist. Nevertheless, like with the tongs there has been much speculation of transnational criminal conspiracies within the U.S. media and criminal justice system. At times this speculation has been sensationalized to paint portraits of vast and sinister undergrounds in Chinatowns, reminiscent of the historical exoticization and demonization of Chinese and Asians as the evil ‘Yellow Peril.’"

"The Tong wars ripped through San Fierro's Chinatown a world controlled by the Blood Brotherhood whose dynasty of assassination, extortion, vendetta, gambling, prostitution and mayhem exploded just south of the Gant Bridge. A hell so violent that nothing short of an earthquake could end it"
