Fort Carson Sheriff's office investigated an individual following an incident that took place last Tuesday. Matthew Casttelini, 24, was arrested during the sheriff's operation.
It all started with an altercation.
Following what looked at first like a road rage incident, Matthew Castellini confronted a male on a motorcycle outside a gas station store on Main Street in Fort Carson. The victim was struck by a baseball bat several times. Deputies say they don’t know how badly the other biker was injured because he left the scene.
The victim refused to cooperate with authorities, but the incident was caught on security camera footage at around 5:22 p.m. on October 9. Images show a heavily tattooed man arriving in a pickup truck, climing out of the truck with a baseball bat in hand before unleasing an aggresive attack on the man sitting on a motorcycle.
Alerted by pedestrians witnessing the assault, the Sheriff's Office arrived while the suspect was still on the scene, casually buying a pack of cigarette inside the convenience store.
During his arrest Castellini was heavily intoxicated and several baggies of cocaine were found in his vehicle, enabling a search warrant at his residence in Fort Carson the next day.
Following Castellini's home search, deputies found what happened to be one of the most significant drug bust of the year for the small-town Sheriff's Office.
''We seized several items including two handguns, one long pump action rifle aswell as a semi-automatic firearm and approximately 1/4 of a kilogram of cocaine, 6 onces of marijuanna, and nearly 200 pills of ecstasy. On top of that roughly $12,000 in cash money was found in the storage shed.'' Said Deputy Sheriff William Bradford.
Bradford said Sheriff's Office also seized several supporter clothing items with the Soul Slayers MC logo, including hoodies, T-shirts and a belt buckle with the biker's club skeleton logo engraved.
''It's the first time we're seeing this motorcycle club in the county. And because it has never been documented before, it leads us to believe that this could be the accessories of a relatively new biker gang trying to establish itself in the state of San Andreas.''
Braford specified that no biker vests with patches nor even a motorcycle were found at Castellini's home, leading to speculation that the 24 years-old is likely only an aspiring member of the club, and thus a minor actor in what seems to be a larger drug trafficking network.
Matthew Castellini, 24, the day of his arrest; 2024-10-08.
Matthew Castellini of Fort Carson has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of an illegal weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a restricted weapon, and multiples counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
