The RAGE:MP platform uses EAC which is, at this point, not an option — you cannot choose to whether use it or not. As long as RAGE:MP has an active partnership with EAC, there isn't any way of LS:RP to not function without the anti-cheat as they have no other choice but to agree with their terms and conditions.

Yes that's why I made a thread asking for LS-RP devs to possibly reach out to RageMP to not make it so.

  2. This entire post can be summarized as giving people limited PK lives and if they reach the end they are CK'd.

I agree and would even go as far as to say all IC deaths should be CK's. People have to value their characters for realistic decision making. I don't think it'd detract at all from the fun or video game aspect of LS-RP. I think it'd add more value to accomplishments and decisions.

The main thing is that anyone can turn into a ''DJ'' at that point, which can be rather annoying for those actually putting in the time and effort to properly roleplay it out, where others just do it for a quick cash grab.

Kinda weird gatekeeping pressing the "play" button.

Not at all. What you're referring to is part of the investigation phase and we do not wish to be involved in police investigations. Prosecutors are responsible for principal proceedings before and after the commencement of trial.

Search warrants shouldn't be approved by Law Enforcement. If cops can just approve their own warrants then why would they even ask for one when they can just give themselves the power to do it. The point of the DA is a separate party to review the probable cause the PD has to see if it is sufficient.

When I say arrest affidavits I'm not talking about warrants. I'm saying if John_Doe gets arrested for assault, will the DA review the Officers probable cause at any point in the arrest process?

The point I'm making is the DA is supposed to help the players. But if their only interaction is after they get arrested, and now the DA's prosecutor is sided WITH the police because they're a county/state prosecutor, what is the point?

The DA should serve as a buffer between the players and law enforcement, so if they get arrested on bad probable cause they can get the charges dropped before it even hits a court room. This is where the DA can get creative with case law and other amendment applications.

Law Enforcement Agencies will be free to submit their affidavits to a judge or magistrate for review. The court officer who receives the warrant must review it for legal and factual sufficiency. There is currently no form of prosecutorial review in the issuance of an arrest/search warrant because we understand that LEO factions need this process to be effective and efficient and have their requests handled in a timely manner for a variety of reasons. If the warrant is invalid or the standard of probable cause is not discharged, the judge will most definitely deny it.

We are open to the idea of having prosecutors advise officers on affidavit writing, reviewing warrants before those are presented to a judge, or even filing a warrant on an officer's behalf in complex cases, but this choice rests with LEO factions. Since we don't charge with indictments, you will be allowed to argue the discharge of probable cause in preliminary hearings and present your line of defense in a proper trial.

So the main responsibility of the DA's office is being done by Law Enforcement groups?

  6. People need to understand Parole ≠ Probation. They are two different things.

Typically parole violations are handled by Federal/State law enforcement (eg. US Marshalls, Department of Corrections), and probation is handled by the local probation office. Probation violations can be enforced by local police. A cop cannot violate somebody's parole that's up to the courts or prisons.

    Why the Greek Catholic Church?

Although our real life counterpart, Los Angeles, is mostly Roman Catholic and non-denominal Christian, in order to provide a genuine religious environment we've decided to practice the Byzantine Rite since FatherAlexav is highly knowledgeable of it. We're happy to answer your questions about this Christian denomination.

My only criticism is you've now limited yourselves to a very small minority of players.

The standard in regards to warrant approvals and throwing out cases is going to be handled by judges, who will hopefully be competent. If law enforcement factions do a bad job with cases in-character, then they should be thrown out by the system.

Should be handled by the State prosecutors. If your case is weak and has no validity it should get no billed and dropped by the state before it ever sees a court room. That's why I brought up bail and other systems.

  9. The entire process blows because there's no bail system or public defenders. It takes longer to find a lawyer, suppress "evidence" which has no chain of custody or legitimacy other than being a screenshot or text document, than just serving your jail time and moving on. A day one public defender could dismiss 70% of all cases by the LSPD due to case law and other things which are never utilized.

Warrants are a misunderstood concept. Due to most of the player base not being from the U.S. they don't understand the 4th Amendment and just want to look cool in their tactical SWAT vests running through houses.
