Outside of some real heavy hitters, there just isn't that much wealth in today's Mafia. In this day and age most wiseguys are dealing petty amounts of crap weed or blow or working the bookmaking/loansharking/extortion grind. It's not uncommon for a made guy to be evicted for failing to pay his rent or sent to jail over delinquent child support payments. The power of the mafia has fallen so precipitously that even the NYPD views the threat posed by the Five Families as primarily petty street crimes. Now imagine the LCN scene on the west coast? If there is any at all, it's a fucking joke. Those guys are Mickey Mouse gangsters.
