Can we bring back the old playerbase count?

A lot of players are sharing their feedback, which is fine. I just don't want it to be clogged up in messages between two players going on about their own issues with each other.

Understandable.

I don't suppose you would want to hear the opinions of hypocrites who cannot bear hearing that (gasp!) they are not faultless. Liars, too, at that! Because here's faction leader (as a Sergeant) Azuko in one of his everyday faction leader discussions with Iudex and his friend — whom he apparently hates so much now that Iudex is no longer around.

No longer going to respond to this guy!

Faction leadership in a channel with other faction leadership?!?!?! THE HORROR!!!

my initial response to Azuko's pastebin was hidden for some reason:

Mr. Azuka's post is hilarious. It's also funny how it has been so many years and Azuko's way of being hostile when confronted hasn't changed. It's OK Azuko, there's no need to get hostile, it's all over.

I also find it ironical how you're only complaining so loudly now that things didn’t go your way, even though the writing was on the wall all along. I vividly remember you propagating an image that everything was OK/being worked on/will work out in the end when an unbelievable number of faction members started complaining, raising concerns of how inactive the leadership is, but you still continued to believe otherwise, thinking you can fix it. You were living in delulu, it appeared. "road is long, but it will work out in the end", ironic.

You're completely wrong for not actually mentioning the entire reason why SASD was doomed from the start. You only harped on Iudex, "Iudex, Iudex, Iudex", as if Iudex was the only person who destroyed the faction. @jcgortez's post is spot on. SASD was doomed from the start, it wasn't Iudex's fault, as some will have you think it was. I still wonder why you didn't even mention Brasi or Jack in your initial pastebin (considering they were the main reason the faction never had a chance), completely defending promos that were clearly questionable (part from Justitiae ofc).

yeah, iudex's a snake, he snaked you, he snaked me, he ended up couping brasi, but are you just coming to that realization? Ridiculous, considering what he did in 2020. I guess some people are gullible.

You meant EHC but it's all right homie but yeah what @Erensaid it's facts after facts

Barons and EHC are both active then, I don't go to Idlewood / hang around street gang factions personally. I edited my comment though to include you guys, my apologies! All the same, there are quite a few official factions that are super inactive.

Please guys do not let this thread stray like others. The moral of this discussion on this thread is can we bring back the older player base count, and if so, how can we go about doing so. Nothing more.

Arguing isn’t a key to unlocking greatness. It only deters.

Here's a few problems and their solutions that I have in mind.

1. Most original players don't even know that the server re-opened. (I personally stumbled across it and decided to jump back in.)

As people said before me, you could use the massive list of emails who registered and maybe more people will realize the server is back.

2. There are 40 illegal factions which is the avarage count of active players throughout the day time. (Most of them are not active)

You could limit people's ability to open a faction so they have no choice but to join an existing faction and boost their activity.

3. There's a huge barrier for new players who want to start roleplaying, the only way them to learn would be from an experienced player they know personally.

The answer to this is obvious- Guides.

4. Many players are just looking to provoke shootouts, there is no real consequencess to killing whether it's OOC or IC.

Increase jail time for DM and IC killing.

Other than what has already been said.

Sometimes I wonder why LSRP isn't being spammed across social media and advertised.

Would be a start to actually promote the server across a wider audience. I think there should be a team that creates videos, reels, shorts or whatever with a link to the server and forums.

As one of the better role-players who was in LSSD for a short while after it relaunched, I'll put this plainly — everything written a few posts above (in the pastebin link) is a crock of shit.

"Iudex has a reputation of being a snake, and I don't describe it that way in an attempt to sleight him - that's genuinely how some people view him, due to past experiences." — this comes from the mouth of someone who was in Iudex' TeamSpeak channel 24/7. Why did this realization about Iudex come to you only after he is no longer in a position of power above you? Gee, you'd think you'd realize that way sooner especially if he'd already gotten you banned in 2020.

Here's a list of TB members with their number of posts in the temporary application archive (the only publicly accessible forum):

Autumn Kennedy: 16 posts

Paul Xue: 12 posts

Alexander Bond: 12 posts

Ronaldo Dalisay: 10 posts

Daniel Cano: 10 posts

Jabari Harris: 7 posts

Clearly, Storm (Paul Xue) is the second "most active" member in TB. If you want to get into a bit of statistics, based on the above data, the average is 11.167 posts and median is 11 posts. He has 12 posts — above the mean and median. So, how or why exactly are you questioning the activity of the second most active TB member?

You didn't want the second most active member to get promoted, but you wanted matt — who's known to most everyone in SASD to be one of the most inactive members in the faction, and known to fake his activity by idling at SEB HQ on admin duty (you have a lot of experience with this from back in 2020, don't you?) — to be promoted? What, exactly, has he done for the faction? He was in the SEB operations team since relaunch and showed up to possibly only a single training, at most. He was promoted to East LS Captain, and the only thing he did for the station was set up a thread in the screenshots section. Oh, and who is the only person to post on that thread? Yep, you guessed it - Storm! The only change made to the East LS station after he took over was the introduction of a station GET/COPS team, but that too was the result of the faction leadership redesigning OSS' operations (and it took 2 whole weeks to do that...). The only reason this guy even reached the position he was in, despite being incredibly inactive, is simply because there was no one left in the faction after LS:RP switched to GTA 5. I was involved in a total of 3 SWAT callouts with him and he never, ever role-played in any of them. In the one callout that he led, it was entirely carried out on TeamSpeak. And I say "led" loosely — he just teleported half of the team to the rear of Jefferson Motel, without ever communicating anything (let alone a plan), and started "clearing the building." A second team leader and I took the initiative and made entry from the front to help them, or else the team would've been wiped out AGAIN, for the tenth time that day. I don't want to start with SEB and the abysmal state it is in, but you guys managed to get the team wiped out more in a week than it had ever been in its nearly decade-long existence. So, please, tell me why you think someone as incompetent deserved to be promoted over Storm, who demonstrably has a better track record? Here's even a member of ES (and his then direct supervisor) admitting your friend's inactivity, but go on and promote him already, he's done a whole lot of nothing!!

You talk a lot of smack about Iudex and his friends, but that never stopped you from being in their TeamSpeak channel 24/7, rimming them for your next e-promotion. Also, Iudex did more in a week than you and your friends in more than 3 years. What exactly did you or your friends really contribute to the faction except general in-game activity (and even that is debatable for some of you).

If you really want to talk about who ruined SASD, let's review the track record of the sheriffs before Iudex. 2 people (Jack and Brasi) led the faction jointly for over 3 years, and they did their damn best to run the faction to the ground. While Jack was never, ever around and let Brasi be the de facto sheriff, he is complicit in the way the faction turned out because of his inactivity and deserves blame for it. As soon as Brasi got sheriff, his shtick of being inactive and telling people "I'll keep you updated" started. The faction was in such disarray that something as simple as suggestions to limit the wait-time for responding to applications took 2 months (and it was only after Iudex "forced his way in" that the suggestion was accepted and a department directive was released). Do I really need to say more about the state that the faction was in, if it took 2 months for a simple directive saying "don't make people wait more than 72 hours for a response to their application" to be passed? Brasi was completely aloof the entire time — you'd tell/ask him about something and, more often than not, his response to it would be "yeah, what the hell? I didn't know that," "oh, I forgot about that," or something along those lines. If faction issues ever popped up, he was nowhere to be found to address them. On top of that, he never established a good leadership team to act in his absence either. You cry about Iudex being placed in as his undersheriff, while failing to realize the fact that Iudex needed to be put in that position because no one was leading the faction even though the faction had a leader. Most good and competent role-players left after getting a hint of Brasi's leadership (or lack thereof) style. But, you never complained about this even though you were in a position to. I suppose the promotions Brasi was feeding you kept your belly full, up until Iudex brought a stop to it.

I'm also laughing incredibly hard at the fact that you're complaining about "the injustice" done to your friend, when he did the same to others. What goes around really does come around!

The only thing I agree with you is the fact that LFM has failed miserably and that Justitiae was dealt a bad card. He should've been promoted. He's a sound guy and puts in decent quality work. LFM has been the most useless entity on LS:RP since forever, and it was no different in this iteration of LS:RP. They've been promoting one guy after the other to the head of LFM and passing the buck when all they needed was someone to lay down the hammer and start taking action. Not a single thing done by LFM has made sense. It seems like they just do whatever without a single thought behind their action(s).

I’m not even gonna feed may I be excused idiotic and false claims and accusations nor do I need to but whatever 😂

First I do not AFK in SEB on aduty, just because you have seen me be tabbed for a 10-15 min period that does not mean that I’m farming my activity. Not that this cannot be proven by a Lead+ considering the server DB knows exactly when I play (even more funny that you say I AFK all day yet you wont see me online before 9pm. As for me given a position that I applied for and ES clearly deemed me capable for, not sure where the issue lies based on the fact of what I did (clearly my superiors saw what I did when I did it and how you did it). And just a little friendly fact check, I was not given control of SEB because there was no one else, its because I built it alongside Nature and Unlawful and the leadership appreciated my contribution (the competent leadership from before).

Not sure why you have it in for me, is it because I held you back and put your application on hold because you blatantly broke some rules and skipped punishment by resigning or whatever.. Whatever the case is, it’s starting to get rather concerning as you clearly have some obsession with giving me a bad name lol.

Why keep inactive testers and admins around? Remove them. Make space for people who are actually working towards a better community.

Start advertising & promoting the god damn server!

Listen to your community. Illegal factions have been waiting for mapping & other things for months on months, to the point where they end up closing. Now look at the illegal scene, hardly any active gang factions. The same thing that once use to keep this server thriving. Shit, we was told there was a new ROE being set-up MONTHS ago, how long does it really take to write up a new ROE? Lol.

And remember, without US the player base/community, you admins/lead admins/testers/management have NOTHING. Get off your high horse, you don't get paid to do this, so take time to respect and acknowledge your community. You are here to help build the server up & make it a better place for us role-players to role-play in, same way we are here to keep this server active by logging in & roleplaying.

Revamp the whole of IFM or whatever it's called too, coz yall suck and have zero knowledge about the streets, clearly.

my list can go on

To add. I agree with what Eren has said, and we need people with that type of motivation taking the key roles in admin positions. Drumj is another good example too. I've been on this server 15 years & seen it's ups and downs & the worst thing you can do is ignore your community, the ones who make LS-RP what it is.

People are acting as if LFM being completely uncapable of running the legal faction scene and repeatedly betting on horses that have proven unsuitable for racing is an unprecedented event that only happened with the Iudex fiasco, but unless you're new or you've slept throughout LS-RP's history, you'd know that's always been the case. From the perspective of a regular player who's been around long enough to remember when the LSPD was based off the Met rather than the LAPD, LFM has never amounted to much else other than a bunch of holdouts who looked after their own and sought to maintain the status quo at all costs, with the occasional revolution only done for the sake of replacing the figures of the old regime with new ones, but without tearing down the regime mechanisms themselves.

Collins used to bend over backwards to cover for Foran's autocratic management style of the LSPD and his attempts to torpedo any law enforcement faction that wasn't his own. Pitchounette, may God rest her soul, was resistant to any suggestion that could upset the balance of the server, not matter how small or inconsequential. ObZen's most notable achievement as head of LFM was destroying overnight a political roleplay scene that had taken years to be built only to appease a specific faction. Surreal and his circus completely killed any semblance of creativity in favor of mere imitation that produces nothing but dozens of characters that all look and act the same while dismantling critical systems such as the faction takedown scheme under the guise of "fairness". In the case of others who aren't specifically mentioned their tenure as Head of Legal Factions was so purposeless they're not even worth the time of being listed.

The only LFM admin who seemed to have understood why LFM ever existed in the first place was Ethanol, under whom you could at least discuss topics that previously (and subsequently) were considered pipe dreams at best and nuisances at worst. Note that you could only discuss them, not actually see them implemented. But the point is that there never truly was a group of LFM admins who sought to create roleplay for others, and instead most of their time was spent on coming up with inventive solutions on how to limit it. LFM has always been the epitome of "let me know what you want, and I'll tell you why it can't be".

LFM has always refused to innovate and shake things up since at least 2013, with each iteration relying on archaic rulings inherited from their predecessors like they're the Tablets of Stone while adding a slew of bad pronouncements of their own. Look no further than the ridiculous notion that the governor must be portrayed by the head of LFM, most of whom either didn't care or didn't know how to portray the role effectively, with the only notable exceptions being Pitch and Flemwad. Or ask yourself why it took SADOC ten years to get actual law enforcement powers for its special agents. Or wonder why during the sunset of LS-RP, both before the closing and after the reopening, it's always been the same people holding high-ranking positions within law enforcement factions. Or question why LFM spent time organizing pointless political agencies for a playerbase that doesn't even exist instead of engineering solutions towards improving the factions that are the main playerbase magnet.

Where's the big news in LFM being chummy with and appointing a rulebreaker to leader of one of the server's most prominent factions?

No because for 3 reasons:

1) SAMP is dead, don't argue. It's been dead since 2020 and it's BLEEDING players, we can't just revive it. It's a 2004 game.

2) Because tbh? People already mourned LSRP's demise and moved on to GTA:W where they established themselves in a server that has more players and more rp opportunities, they won't just ''come back''. You been mourned, people cried on your grave and then you suddenly be revived, obviously most of the people that you met/been with before won't come back to you because they already moved on, they cried on your grave and moved on. You died for them, they already moved on to GTA:W and other commuties. LSRP died, revived as a GTA:V server, died again and brought back to life as a SAMP server that is on the verge of dying. What you could've done is you could've idk... Used the publicity gained from the SAMP server to promote the RAGEMP server and fix the issues in it that caused players to leave it so that way, if people left the SAMP server. They can go to the RAGEMP server y'know?

When I saw LSRP being revived in SAMP, I thought this was nothing but a publicity stunt to bring back interest to LSRP as a whole so they can boost up the RAGEMP's server playerbase. But looks like the SAMP server became the primary one and the GTA:V server was technically abandoned, you should've just used the publicity gained to promote the RAGEMP server and recoup some of the lost players who left your community.

3) I don't know why? But I find LSRP kinda boring, to be honest. I've been doing my best to enjoy the server but honestly dude? LSRP is fucken boring, man. I played GTA:W and the map is even emptier there but even driving around in GTA V feels more fun than driving in GTASA, you can literally do nothing but customizing your character and driving around in cars in gta:v '' HEAVY '' rp servers and you'll never get bored. Here in LSRP however? Ehh... The server is more strict, more serious, forces rp onto your face which is in my opinion. Makes it a bit too boring, I would love to have scripted jobs so people can make money without being forced into filing virtual job applications and go on job hunting IN A GAME to be able to buy a fucken bike to rp as a damn biker, I would love if the script was more advanced and not just a barebones 2007 script with some modification throw in it, I would like to... I don't know, I just don't find LSRP fun.

I've played GTA:C, I've played RCRP, I've GTA:World. I played all of that, LSRP is the only server that I didn't enjoy as much.

Could just be me tbh
