Userone
Hi, One of the biggest fascinations and innovations of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, compared to all other currently released GTA titles (yes, including even GTA V), is the presence of multiple paved airports and multiple large cities on a big map, with planes available to fly. San Andreas Pilot's Map version 6, last update: 2025 March 6th Changelogs: Spoiler Version 1) 17th June 2024 Marked all cities as High-Altitude Only. Maintain altitude of no less than 2’000 ft over city air-space. Marked landing/take-off areas on civilian airports: LSX, EBA, LVA Marked government-restricted air-space (Las Venturas Air Base, San Andreas State Corrections & Rehabilitation and Easter Basin) as Restricted. Marked Mountain Chilliad as Caution. Marked Blueberry, Montgomery and Palomino Creek as High-Altitude Only, due to presence of hills and tall trees in the area. Version 2) 19th June 2024 Marked many areas in Flint County as Caution, due to presence of hills and tall trees in the area. Marked Bayside Cliff as Caution, due to presence of hills and tall trees in the area. Marked major highway bridges (Gant Bridge, Garver Bridge and Mako Span) as Caution, due to presence of a tall structure. Many towns and landmarks marked. Version 3) 21st June 2024 All civilian airports (LSX, EBA, LVA) received a Restricted area around them, with exception for the landing/take-off zone. This zone can be entered only by aircraft landing or taking-off at the given airport. Marked Willowfield and Las Payasdas. Version 4) 28th June 2024 Marked the Country of Mexico in the southeast. Marked Spread Ranch as the previously unnamed town west of Las Venturas. Version 5) 31st December 2024 Redone the map markings. Introduced more authentic air-traffic zones: CTR - Control Traffic Route All major cities are marked as CTR air-traffic zones. All aircraft are still expected to maintain at least 2'000 ft while in these cities' CTRs. ATZ - Aerodrome Traffic Zone Each major airport (except the Verdant Meadows Airbase) and their surrounding areas were marked as an ATZ. An aircraft may only enter an ATZ for take-off and landing. NFZ - No Fly Zone Area of about 500 ft was marked around Verdant Bluffs Base and the state prison as NFZs. No aircraft may enter an NFZ without explicit permission, with only exception being necessity during emergency. Re-marked Easter Basin as an NFZ. Version 6) 6th March 2025 Added runway numbers for runways on ATZs and the Verdant Meadows NFZ. Old map archive: Spoiler Version 1: Version 2: Version 3: Version 4: Version 5: To obtain a plane, it's highly recommended that you seek one second-hand from another player, as they can be very expensive. Not only to purchase, but also to maintain should anything go wrong. To fly a plane legally, one must obtain a pilot's license from the airport. It cost $375,000 last I checked, and the test is absurdly challenging and not very realistic to what you're going to be actually doing, assuming you're going the legal route. Nevertheless, it exists to test your skill with the aircraft, or more likely, to hone it until you can get it right. Don't worry, you only pay if you succeed. At the time of writing this unofficial guide, the plane registration has not been fully reinstated on forum. Therefore, at this time, it's your responsibility to pick a realistic call-sign for your plane. (ex.N978PP) As far as plane registration goes, here's a quote from an admin: Spoiler Essentially, the government doesn't have an active aircraft ledger set up as of 21st of June, 2024. Currently it's not illegal to fly planes with registered bill of sale, a realistic callsign and a pilots license. All planes are fitted with radios (but not script-wise, so go to a 24/7 and buy a radio) and must be tuned to the ATC frequency (which is 20). Your plane stays parked in an airport hangar, and you must communicate with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) of the Los Santos Airport, codenamed LSX, via the proper template: /r LSX, [CALLSIGN], [REQUEST] (wait 10 seconds) /r LSX, [CALLSIGN], proceeding with [REQUESTED ACTION] Now, of course, in real-life one would need an actual ATC staff member to approve or deny any request at the airport. Seeing as there are no ATC staff, you are allowed to "NPC" it (pretend that there is one) with caution, as long as all members of your current roleplay party agree. Legally, a pilot is expected to update the ATC of the following situations: • emergency (“Mayday!”x3, callsign, number of souls on board, altitude/location, issue) • taxi to/from a specific runway • take-off/landing at a specific runway • poor weather conditions/visibility • entering/leaving city airspace Always ensure you have a stable internet connection, before you go flying an aircraft in any multiplayer game. Good luck, and safe flying! ✈️ Edited March 6 by Userone updated map v6 2 1 1
RadioKilla
This is actually a great reference especially as piloting is definitely something that could grow in the future with more interest. By no means is it cheap, but it’s an enjoyable experience once you get through all the hoops and opens up so many doors both on the legal and illegal side. Definitely gonna be using the map in the future.
