The Eastside Chronicles

1826 Crenshaw Hustler Crips was once considered to be a sub-set of the infamous Ryder Blocc Families, a gang who was said to be one of the most violent of Los Santos's Crip sets during time of it's activity. However, as time progressed 1826 Crenshaw Hustler Crips themselves grew so large in numbers, that they eventually branched off from being just a sub-set of Ryder Blocc Families and within themselves created their own codes of conduct and functions. The gang was, for a while, still allied to the Ryder Card, and carried the numbers "1826" (numeral code for R.B.F) in front their set.

The Roots of EHC - From Idlewood to Crenshaw

The gang was founded by an East Idlewood native, named 'Nino Bethold' who at the time, was considered to be a well known teenage drug dealer and also alleged relative of Ryder Blocc Families founder and Original Gangster, the late Dane 'O.G Dope' Andrew. Although the gang's proclaimed turf and strong-hold is said to be Crenshaw, Jefferson, it's roots can be traced all the way back to East Idlewood where many of the founding members first met and bonded.

14R74tj.pngThe founding members of 1826 Crenshaw Hustler Crip were simply a group of teenagers who hung-out together (Tyreese Hampton, Mitchell 'Money' Buckner, Kirk 'Dirty' Barkley) and eventually started dealing narcotics through-out the East Idlewood neighborhood. None of the teenagers were gang-affiliated at the time, and simply considered themselves as 'Hustlers''. One of these young men being, 'Nino', a stand out kid with a witty and charismatic attitude. 14 year-old, Nino Bethold was simply a kid who hung around the neighborhood during his early teens. Nino was a regular neighborhood kid with big dreams of one day living lavish one day, and also had the ambition go along with it. After awhile of hanging out at local dope-spots through out East Idlewood and building relationships with teenagers who were already involved in narcotics sales, Nino himself was eventually introduced to selling narcotics. Nino first began dealing small quantities of Marijuana to fellow neighborhood teenagers. He quickly caught the hang of the drug trade and as time progressed he began dealing larger quantities of Marijuana, eventually stepping up to stronger narcotics such as 'Coke' and 'X'. Nino managed to avoid attention while dealing narcotics in the area through different methods. At the age of 16, he was dealing larger quantities of drugs, gaining more income, and at the same time gaining more respect among the teenagers in the area who later turned out to be part of his clique, and later on to be the fellow founders of the 1826 Crenshaw Hustler Crip gang.

The Idlewood Motel, where Nino and his aunty resided was considered to be a strong-hold for the Bloods faction at that time. Bethold and his friends would be confronted on a daily basis by members of the Bloods, who would try either extort, or run them off. This however first was not a huge issue and the teenagers simply tolerated it. They continued to operate around the neighborhood under a low-profile, most times staying clear of members while distributing their narcotics. None of the teenagers at the time were affiliated with gangs, and were simply focused on stacking their income so they could better their personal lives. However, the problem to new heights one night when members from the Blood faction began shooting after Nino and a group of friends who were at the time hanging at the local 7/11. Glasses shattered and people screamed in distress as the group of teenagers fled from the gun fire. Luckily no one was hit and word quickly spread through-out East Los Santos that the Bloods were targeting any-one who dealt narcotics in the area, shooting them on site.

Luckily, as time passed the Blood members were deteriorating in members, another gang in East Los Santos were growing in numbers. The CripNeighborhood Cripss. Neighborhood Crip gang members began popping up around the area, and the rivalry grew with the Bloods. Bethold, at the time was not very fond of ''gang-banging'', he was thought of being trouble, and was bad for business. Nino first started becoming affiliated with the Crips as he made friends with members who he met at the store. One of these being a fellow teenager and knuckle-head, 'Ant' and a well-known Original Gangster from their set, nick-named ''O.G Greedy''. The gang members embraced the young Nino, and instead of trying to extort him as their rivals ''The Bloods'' did, they offered him means to make more income. Nino grew more affiliated with these gang members around the Neighborhood and built friendships with some. He was fascinated by their lifestyle, along with the fact that they were so opened up to him.

Crenshaw Hustler Crip was formed with the soul purpose of protecting themselves in the new neighborhood over on Jefferson. Gangs had a strong hold in the Jefferson area, and many different factions controlled turf throughout the whole district. The teenagers knew if they were to survive that they had to organize themselves and begin recruiting other neighborhood teenagers. Crenshaw had been previously been controlled by different gangs for many years, but most of the Original Gangsters were either dead or incarcerated. This left a very huge void in the neighborhood, which Nino and the other teenagers quickly saw opportunity to fill. The founding member, Nino Bethold usually flaunted the drug money which he had accumulated from his small drug operations sales back in East Idlewood, and used it as a way of influencing other teenagers, along with his street-knowledge acquired from his time of hustling in Idlewood.

Founding Members

Nino

Nino 'Newjacc' Bethold resided with his mother at Glen Park, up until the age of 8. His mother, Sharrisa Andrew was the known sister of a of notorious gang leader, Dane 'Andrew' Sharrisa tried to keep her children shielded from their Uncle during the early stages of their lives. She was embarrassed by her brother's murderous reputation and also feared being targeted by rivals of his as he grew more in power during his reign. Nino was sent to live with his father, Nathan Bethold, who resided at the Idlewood Motel. Nino had not gotten to know about his Uncle until his late teens, during his period as a drug dealer. Nino had got in contact with his Uncle through different relatives. Around the same time when Bethold, was moving out, he bonded a great deal with his Uncle through phone calls, Eventually gaining his permission to carry on the gang's tradition through his own small set. The 1826 was added, and served as a sign of homage to the 'Ryder' faction of the Crips.

KirkKirk 'Dirty' Barklay was one of the teenagers that became a part of Nino's group in Idlewood. He got put on the game by Nino and Mitch and followed the group to Crenshaw. Through ought his life he was a shotcaller and big homie, leading Crenshaw Hustler Crip along with Nino. He was involved in a lot of the gang's businesses and directly responsible for the war between Crenshaw Hustler Crip and Sintown Crip. He got involved with the daughter of a prominent Sintown Crip member and that is the reason why the whole war started. Today 'Dirty/Krazy' Kirk Barklay is still a well known figure of the neighborhood but not for the usual reasons one would think. While other gang members stopped being active/got incarcerated/died in the streets, Dirty Kirk secured his one way ticket out of the hood by becoming a porn star. Nowadays his name doesn't hold the weight and respect it used to do.

Money&TyreeseMitchell 'Money' Buckner was also a key member of Nino's crew, and also the one, together with Tyreese, that first put on Nino on the drug game and taught him the ropes.

Backstory

Mitchell 'Money' Buckner also had family ties with some of the gangsters that used to run Jefferson before CHC came to power, although it is unclear as to which set he had family ties to. Mitchell holds the OOOG status in EHC and although he was originally part of CHC, his name and reputation holds more weight to the 60s Slauson Hustler Crip subset, where Mitchell lived at.

Tyreese Hampton's name is largely forgotten by the faction and his involvement in the gang's early days is unclear, but what is known is that he was originally part of Nino's crew and also moved to Crenshaw with the group.
