• Every Villa Got a Villain
The East Side Rollin Stone Bloods, also known as "The Villaz," is a long-standing, primarily African-American street gang located on the East Side of South Los Santos. Their neighborhood stretched from 55th Street to 57th Street, tucked between Willowfield Avenue and Sampson Street. The East Side Rollin Stones emerged in the early 1980s during the formative years of the crack epidemic, and when neighboring gangs' expansion changed the geography of South Los Santos. The gang emerged from an unofficial alliance between two already-respected Blood sets: the Blood Stone Villains and the Rollin 20’s Neighborhood Bloods.
Before they adopted the blood moniker, the neighborhood was home to smaller cliques and crews. Two of the most active were the Village Boys, a project-based crew of tight-knit families who grew up in Willowfield Village, and the 6th Street Hustlers, who got their name from running a short but powerful strip off Sampson Street. These two groups (55.6 or 556) laid the foundation for what would soon become a more structured gang identity.
The 55 Rollin Stones (“55 RSB”) is the first to formally fly the Rollin Stone name, rooted deep within the now, Del Sol Village apartments (formerly known as Willowfield Village). The natives there didn’t just live in the Village—they claimed it. It was very common to see taggings of "Villaz", "Village Boys", "Villaz Gang", in graffiti-styled letters across breezeways, mailboxes, and laundry rooms. Locals often say, "If you were from the Villas, you were born into the gang culture, whether you wanted it or not." It was from this that the 1982 headliner, “Every villa got a villain,” became a street proverb, meant to describe how every building in Del Sol had its shooter, scammer, or hustler.
The 56 Rollin Stones (“56 RSB”) is what was previously known as the 6th Street Hustlers. Positioned just east of the Village, these members are known to be on the front line for the hood, due to the positioning of their turf. While the 55s held down the projects, the 56s ran the main streets, specifically 6th Street between Sampson and Willowfield Avenue. The OG 6th Streets were the shooters and killers, turning battles into wars and breaking family apart. As the Rollin Stones identity spread further east away from the Rollin 20s NHB and Blood Stone Villains turf, the Village Boys and 6th Street Hustlers rebranded themselves, bringing the energy into the Blood identity with a passion.
The youngest and most unpredictable were the 57 Rollin Stones (“57 RSB”)—the Stone babies of the set. Located in the dead end area of Willowfield and they are often seen running through the alleys, tagging walls, stealing cars, or recording videos on social media showing off guns and dissing rivals. Started off in the late 2010s, this generation is considered very active and dangerous according to law enforcement specialists.
Today, the Rollin Stone Bloods consists of a moderate amount of active members, ranging from their early teens to their late twenties. Gang members identify themselves by sporting red clothing and gang-related insignias. The gang's recent activities around the East Side over the past few years have established the East Side Stones as a gang with a powerful presence area, according to law enforcement.
